Hi,

I’ve been ttc for around 7 months. Brought my first opk this month.

I had one day negative and just had my 7th day of high opk. This is now day 17.

Cycle is normally around 30/31 days.

Any advice or has anyone else had multiple high opks?

@AZ1992X I can see a progression. 12dpo is much fainter than the other 2. Urine can be diluted even if you held it whole night and you could also have a slow rise. These are good lines and clear positive. Maybe wait a couple of days to test again instead of testing everyday as it can take a few days for tests to pick up a progression. Maybe ask for a blood test at your GP. Keep thinking positive that things will turn out fine because I'm sure they will.

Still no sign of AF for me. I'm 15 dpo today so officially 1 day late and woke up wet thinking it was af but it was EWCM 😳. I've been having some cramping and backache which is very confusing as early pregnancy symptoms can be very similar to AF. I've been working these ridiculous 13 hours shifts so I've been unable to get to the shops to buy a test. I've ordered some online and it should arrive today or tomorrow. I'm absolutely terrified to test 😂

BellaBoo7 · 12/11/2021 09:19

@Angie887 that’s a really good sign. I kept having that wet feeling a lot at the beginning. Aw u could be pregnancy buddies x

AZ1992X · 12/11/2021 12:28

Thank you both ❤️, still keeping positive!
I’ve been onto the GP today as I just want them to check my BV infection has defo gone so I’m doing a swab test.

@Angie887 that’s sounds positive, I’m keeping everything crossed for you! ❤️
Keep us posted x.

Angie887 · 12/11/2021 16:48

@AZ1992X definitely make sure that the BV has gone because there's lots of evidence it can cause early miscarriage so you want to be clear. Keep us posted how things are progressing

Thank you @BellaBoo7 and @AZ1992X f the positive vibes but unfortunately I just tested with 3 different test brand and all BFN. It seems that my body enjoys playing these cruel jokes with me. I'm still feeling so crampy and pulling sensation on the side of my pelvis but no sign of af. Hopefully she can show her face soon so I can start over.

BellaBoo7 · 12/11/2021 17:13

@Angie887 I still have my fingers crossed for you, you aren’t out until af arrives x

AZ1992X · 12/11/2021 17:34

@Angie887 I brought a test kit you do at home today and that’s come back negative for BV but I know the nhs one is more reliable so hoping that’ll come back clear too.

Sorry that’s it’s come back negative but yes don’t rule yourself out yet! X.

@Angie887 how are things going? X

Angie887 · 15/11/2021 06:40

@BellaBoo7. Unfortunately or maybe fortunate as I was getting worried, Af showed up in full force this morning. 17 days luteal phase this cycle. This is the longest luteal phase I ever had. It's never been longer than 14 days so who knows what happened. I think I need to get used to my body playing these cruel tricks on me..
Well onto next cycle and my birthday will be about when AF is next due so hopefully this will be my lucky month and she can stay away for 9 months. 🤞🤞

@AZ1992X how are you doing?

AZ1992X · 15/11/2021 06:58

@Angie887 I’m sorry that AF has showed but also glad you’ve got no more waiting to see what’s happening. Here’s to your next cycle and getting an extra birthday present🤞

I’m not bad thanks, unfortunately not had any progression on the tests this morning and the second test I think is lighter that the one the other day. I’m away now till Friday so going to stop testing as I don’t want it to ruin it and see what’s happening then. X.

BellaBoo7 · 17/11/2021 19:41

I did think I had replied but it obviously didn’t send sorry.

@Angie887 I love how positive you are staying 😊

@AZ1992X hopefully it’s a dodgy test and when u do one on Friday it’ll be really dark. Have a lovely break away x

AZ1992X · 18/11/2021 08:24

Morning ladies,

Unfortunately I started spotting Tuesday afternoon then bleeding early Wednesday. I’m gutted but trying to remain positive that hopefully It won’t be long till I get another bfp and hopefully it’ll work out well next time. X.

Angie887 · 18/11/2021 08:58

@AZ1992X oh no my dear!!! So sorry to hear that! Have you tested again? Some women bleed in early pregnancy and they are just fine.
I remember you saying your progesterone was a bit on the low side once when you tested so maybe you need some supplement. Most GPs won't prescribe progesterone supplements because NHS don't fund treatment so they will come up with 100 excuses saying there's no evidence it can help, but in many countries this is very common practice and it saves lots of pregnancies which wouldn't have been viable without it.

Sending you lots of hugs 💕💕❤️

BellaBoo7 · 18/11/2021 09:57

@AZ1992X I’m so sorry to hear that. I hope you still managed to enjoy your time away x

CountryGirl189 · 18/11/2021 10:24

It’s our first month trying and I won’t lie, I’m already losing the will to live!

I have EWCM but constant negative OPKs, I also usually get bad ovulation cramps, but nothing this month! Driving myself up the wall!

Had some private thyroid tests and Day 3 hormone tests done and they’ve all come back perfect, now debating whether I should do a Day 21 Progesterone test to see if I have actually ovulated, but I think I’m doing so much that I’m psyching myself out of actually popping an egg out 😂

We’ve DTD everyday since my last period ended and I’m knackered at this point! So to conclude.. why don’t babies grow on trees?!

AZ1992X · 24/11/2021 07:23

Morning ladies!

Hope you’re all ok.

I didn’t test whilst I was away and was certain it was happening so didn’t see the point. Tested this morning just to check it was now negative and it was.

BV test came back negative which is good as was worrying about that.

@Angie887 I had one low progesterone test but had to retest as it only ended up being around 3/4dpo and it doesn’t peak till around 7 and the retest was fine so not too worried about that.

Not much I can do as I won’t get any support till you have 3 miscarriages/failed pregnancies.

(Sorry for the negativity just been a bit hard this past week after getting my hopes up after the bfp)

Xx.

@AZ1992X I’m so sorry it hasn’t worked out this time. This chat is here for you to vent so never apologise for what you say. That’s positive news about your bv test though x

Angie887 · 24/11/2021 08:27

@AZ1992X I'm so sorry you had to go through that again. We're all here for you whenever you need to vent. I find very frustrating having to deal with nhs doctors as I feel when it comes to fertility treatment they love dragging their heels so I totally get your frustration about the lack of support.
The recurrent miscarriage service on NHS can be equally frustrating believe me so don't expect much in case you need that.
There's a book called is your body baby friendly which I think it's very good in case of repeated miscarriages.
Onwards and upwards and fingers crossed we get our Christmas miracle 🤞🍀🌈
Keep us posted how you're doing

AZ1992X · 26/11/2021 20:37

Thank you both, means a lot ❤️

I’ve made an appointment with my gp but it’s not till mid December. Not expecting a referral but wanted to make sure it was noted / ask if anything I can do / what to do next time I get a bfp such as early bloods etc… worth a shot?

I’ll look into that book too - thanks!

Hope you’re both ok and have a nice weekend. X

OP posts:
BellaBoo7 · 26/11/2021 21:00

@AZ1992X I think they announced this week about prescribing progesterone too x

AZ1992X · 03/12/2021 08:50

@BellaBoo7 Yes, I’ve heard about that. It’s great news! The only downside is I thought they said you’d have to confirm your pregnancy by scan rather than having it from as soon as you get your bfp but will ask the GP about it.

How are you both getting on? Xx.

BellaBoo7 · 03/12/2021 09:08

@AZ1992X this week isn’t a great one for me tbh I managed to catch covid. I’ve been so careful all through as well and I went to a party at the weekend and that must have been it. It was meant to be my baby shower Sunday too so I’ve had to rearrange that x

AZ1992X · 03/12/2021 18:53

@BellaBoo7 Sorry to hear you’re having a bad week and caught Covid, how are you feeling? Are you run down at all with it?

You must be gutted about the baby shower too but I’m glad you’ve been able to rearrange it.

Xx.

@AZ1992X I had 2 bad days of fever and aches but the past 2 days I’ve just been more tired than usual and I’ve lost my sense of smell. I think the vaccines been doing it’s job. I now have to have blood thinning injections for 2 weeks to stop clots as well x

AZ1992X · 04/12/2021 08:31

@BellaBoo7 That’s good the vaccine seems to be doing it’s job and your symptoms haven’t been too bad. Ah really, I would never even think of needing blood thinning injections with it.

Hope you have a restful weekend and feel fully back to your self soon.

Xx

@AZ1992X I had no idea about the injections either. I only rang the midwives to check if paracetamol was ok x
