Thank you @cyclegoose :) how are you doing?

thanks @lozzlepop trying to stay positive but after miscarriage its difficult as you know!

@kiza thank you ❤ its overwhelming and I am going to test again on tuesday so hopefully see a darker line 🙏🏻🙏🏻🌈🌈

@orangeloo no symptoms atall when I tested. Tbh I tested to "emotionally move on" from this cycle as the last few days of tww take its toll on me! But I have had some tiredness and feeling a bit hot since. Plus having been a serial spotter too thought I would let you know that 0 spotting this month in tww so that would be a sign too I guess.

From what I have seen ivf doesn sound gruelling! I think it's because it's the weighted expectation as well, it's such a pressured stressed time I imagine

Just keeping everything crossed for you @annny27 and hoping it's your time!

I got my AMH back and it's low so just trying to digest that and work out whether we should pay to go private on IVF straight away or wait. I think we'd probably be looking at 'mild' or modified natural given that my amh is low already. Just trying to get through It Starts with the Egg but I'm not sure how much I can practically do while work is so stressful anyway. It's a minefield! Feeling a bit sad as I had really hoped at 34 wouldn't be too late xxx

orangeloo · 09/05/2021 09:42

@Annny27 ah yes I see, I used to test to move on too. So what a lovely surprise for you! Interesting no spotting. Hats off to u for waiting til Tuesday to next test. You are a strong lady. remember different egg different sperm different pregnancy but I know it's easier said than done. 💜

orangeloo · 09/05/2021 09:48

@CycloGoose sorry about your amh and that work and that book is stressing you out. That book is great, but intense. I would advise it in small doses to digest. Also many women with low and very low amh still go on to have babies. It's hard news to get but at least you know you to push forward as time is more important. I would speak with the nhs dealing with your referral and ask how long it might be, could the process be sped up given the news on your amh? Worth a shot and then u know where u stand more in terms of going private. X

CycloGoose · 09/05/2021 10:15

Thanks @orangeloo my GP still won't refer me to fertility clinic until end of July because my FSH levels are okay and I did AMH privately. It's 12.3 so not catastrophic but definitely less than ideal. I don't know what to do really. It's so expensive but, realistically it's going to be at least 18 months before NHS IVF and no idea what could happen in that time. I think I'm getting to the at peace stage - DOR certainly fits with the idea of short LP as well. It only takes one egg! Not doing OPKs this month, just my OvuSense and trying to DTD every other day until confirmation of ovulation.

I'm sorry to hear you are so surrounded by announcements. My cousin and his gf just had their twins. I know what you mean about work. I've just had a bit of a bollocking because I'm behind with my marking etc. It's a bit of a wake up call - got to stop obsessing with TTC and get on with my life! Did your hair at least come out how you wanted? Xxx

orangeloo · 09/05/2021 12:07

Ah 12.3 is not bad, although I understand your concern. People still have babies with 0.something so all to play for. but yes 18 months is a long time. Is that how long GP saying? My nhs wait was 8 months from referral and that's with me paying for some tests privately to speed up the process. 18 months is ridiculous though and they have no excuse to take that long.

Yes a month off OPK's and obsessing sounds good and definitely think we need it sometimes. Yes hair turned out well at least 😂👍 xxx

CycloGoose · 09/05/2021 12:36

@orangeloo it's because you have to have been trying 2 full years before you can apply for IVF so it's going to be a long wait. The 12.3 is in pmols so I think it's around 1.5 in the other unit but yes definitely not game over. I think I can still qualify for NHS IVF so long as it doesn't go below 5?

Glad your hair is good! Yey! ❤️

Unfortunately guys the excitment has been short lived, think I am having a chemical pregnancy as had a bit of spotting last night and now today's test was barely even a line, a definite squinter :(

Gutted obviously! 2 miscarriages now and still on the ttc slog

orangeloo · 10/05/2021 15:02

@CycloGoose ah I see, so I assume from that you've been trying for 6 months ish could still happen naturally for you .

Oh @Annny27 I'm so sorry, such a cruel thing to happen. X

CycloGoose · 10/05/2021 15:21

Oh @annny27 I really hope it's not the case. I'm so sorry.

@orangeloo we're on cycle 10. It could still happen 🤞 I'm just factoring in waiting times as well x

Annny27 · 11/05/2021 09:12

Thanks both- its definitely over as having very heavy bleeding.

Sad obviously but hopeful going forward 🙌🏻

@orangeloo when is your expected transfer now?

XjustagirlX · 11/05/2021 14:06

@Annny27 Im so sorry to hear that. How old are you? Just because I know in my area if you are over 35 you can be seen by recurrent miscarriage after 2 miscarriages. I’m so gutted for you. Take care of yourself today.

I’ve got my consultation appointment today where he will start the ivf referral. I’ll let you all know how that goes.

Annny27 · 11/05/2021 14:17

@xjustagirlx I am 29 so fertility clinic said that theres not anymore testing they can do at the moment :/

Good luck hope it goes well!

Oh @Annny27 I’m really sorry to read your news. Such a cruel thing to happen. How are you doing? I had a chemical way back in September (nothing since) and I think if I do manage to get pregnant again I’ll be a bag of nerves the entire time. Sending lots of love ♥️

XjustagirlX · 11/05/2021 20:54

So my consultant has submitted the ivf forms. Based on dates he mentioned I expect I will start injections on my period around 23rd June. Im happy things are stating but I can’t stop thinking about the low success rates of 30%.

CycloGoose · 11/05/2021 22:51

Fingers crossed @XjustagirlX do you think you will take any extra supplements or anything in the lead up to boost chances? Hope time flies. How long has your wait been?

@Annny27 been thinking of you all day. Hoping it's steps in the right direction. ❤️

Annny27 · 12/05/2021 09:44

@Amy259 its cruel isnt it :( but I am taking it as a good sign that things still work in my uterus and his sperm!

@cyclogoose thank you lovely!

@xjustagirlx that's so exciting not too long atall!

Lozzlepop · 14/05/2021 22:40

MIW01 · 14/05/2021 23:21

So sorry to hear this @Annny27 let's hope the Lap males a difference for you! I have my booked for 26th May! I know I am so fortunate with the waiting times here

@CycloGoose sorry to hear about your low AMH and ridiculous waiting time!

@XjustagirlX fingers crossed for you woth IVF

@orangeloo sorry to hear you're finding IVF tough

XjustagirlX · 19/05/2021 11:19

@CycloGoose we have been trying for 2 years now.

I have a dilemma. I have my ivf consultation booked in for 10th June with a nurse practitioner. However I could delay a week and see a consultant (the same one who I saw through my nhs tests).

My questions are
is it better to have a consultant than a nurse Practitioner?
If I delay by a week to have the consultant it might mean I have to wait another month due to when af would start.
Also for those of you who have done ivf, does the consultant actually do the egg retrieval or is it a different team entirely?

Lozzlepop · 19/05/2021 11:41

@XjustagirlX when we went for our initial appointment I spoke with the sedation nurse who would be doing the procedure.

@Annny27 how are you doing lovely?

We have a call about our IVF tomorrow- no idea what it’s about though 🤷🏽‍♀️

Kiza · 19/05/2021 19:52

Oh @Annny27 I'm so so sorry to hear this. Sending you a massive virtual hug 💗

@XjustagirlX I was on the nhs so our process purely for the IVF clinic (as we had already been under a fertility consultant at a different hospital who referred to the IVF clinic).
We saw a nurse practitioner all the way, it was on the day of egg collection and embryo transfer that we saw the consultant/ doctors. The rest was all nurses. If you've already been under a consultant who has referred IVF then I'd say proceed with the nurse.
Our initial appointment with the ivf clinic was lengthy (about 60-90 minutes) where she went through the mammoth amount of paperwork and explained the process as it had already been decided we were having ICSI. Then we had to sign the papers with our passports for evidence and started the following cycle.

It's a whole team approach for IVF, the nurses do some bits (such as teaching you how to inject and go through your drugs), nurses and doctors do your monitoring scans once you've started the drugs, doctors do the egg retrieval, the embryologists monitor the embryos and call you with updates, then the nurses (or doctor for us as I opted for sedation for transfer) do the transfer.

@Annny27 oh I'm so sorry to read your sad news, sending love ❤️ x
