Hey @Annny27 I didn't feel too bad no. Pleased to give my body a chance to get on an even keel tbh. I was constipated for a week after egg collection- sorry tmi. So that alone made me feel rubbish and think if I'd of had a fresh transfer I just would have worried that it wouldn't work cos my body wasn't in a good place.

Sorry to hear your feeling rubbish- totally with you on the wanting to hide away sometimes. Sometimes the thought of having people ask me about all this or having a baby fills me with dread, anger, sadness and frustration.
Sorry to hear they think you have Endo but if you do it's good they are on to it.
Fx you don't have to wait long.
As @Lottiepink said did I have any symptoms?

Annny27 · 23/04/2021 20:29

Evening :)

With regards to symptoms - yes. I have painful periods but I wouldnt say like crazy painful. But as a teenager and early 20s I would throw up on my period.

And sex and internal exams are painful for me.

But doctors haven't cared about it in the past and said I had vaginismus. So tbh I was relieved when this doctor said she saw something on the scan!

@lottiepink sorry that you are still ttc as well! Deffo pick yourself up and get on to pushing for ivf and next steps 🙏🏻

@orangeloo yes I think it's super positive that your body will be fresh and ready to accept your baby ❤

Kiza · 24/04/2021 13:57

@Annny27 good and bad news combined, good in that it may give you an answer and possible treatment but bad because I know how tough endo can be and frustrating it wasn't picked up sooner.

@orangeloo I too was constipated after collection and then took laxatives and had terrible tummy ache before horrific diahorrhea and completely freaked out that I'd caused too much pain in my body for the embryo to stick! The mental torture we put ourselves through sometimes!
16 weeks next week and honestly ladies it still feels surreal, as if I won't allow myself to believe it until the babies in my arms.

@Lottiepink it's an awful rollercoaster to be on and it's ok to have moments of hopelessness and grief and allow those emotions to be processed and let out

@XjustagirlX progesterone suppositories definitely play with your mind. Good news about the IVF referral and close to signing the forms, from what I remember once your funding comes through you start pretty much straight away after your next bleed.

@MIW01 sending you so much love, it's completely shit that you've had to go through all that on top of infertility and the system is messed up in so many ways.

Annny27 · 24/04/2021 14:25

@kiza 16 weeks wow!!!! Are you finding out the sex of the baby? It must feel so surreal after years of infertility!!

Tbh I am only seeing it as good at the moment as I was already having infertility so atleast now there is a cause and probable solution 😂😂

OP posts:
Lottiepink · 24/04/2021 17:48

@orangeloo so pleased to hear things are moving on for you, tough from what I read earlier, but really hope this works out for you 🤞🏻

@Annny27 yes nice to have something to focus on, in regards of there potentially being something wrong, instead of unexplained! Would have been better to know earlier tho, especially when you have discussed it with them before 🙄
I get painful periods, but don't think anything out of the ordinary. Usually have to alternate ibuprofen and paracetamol for the full first day and then ok, and only seems to last got 3 days now, but sure if that's a bad thing.
Yes defo on it now, maybe you can all help me with what you would do in our circumstance... I'll explain below 😂

@Kiza I'm so sorry I don't even know if I've been on since you found out or not, but such amazing news, so happy for you! Very exciting 🥰

Can I ask for your advice?
Out last app with our consultant was basically them pushing us to go down the path for IVF, however, not sure if you can all remember we found out a few months ago that my DH has a varicocele, and these can affect fertility so much, and his SA results have gone down hill, even though they were bad to start with, but he thinks the varicocele is getting worse, as he now has pain often with it... my DH really wants to have the op to remove it and give us a shot at conceiving naturally, as he 100% thinks this is the reason for low sperm and morphology etc, however, we know the wait times can be hell!

We have spoke and thought about getting a second opinion either at a different hospital or privately and see what they say, I think they will push us for IVF, but then I'm worried that if his sperm is so low what if during IVF there's not enough good quality ones etc, and then as he has the varicocele, we are going to need it removed anyways for our future kids (very presumptuous I know 😂 can't even get pregnant for the first, but planning more 🙈😂)

What do you guys suggest? And so sorry for the essay of the message. Go MIA and come back with a full story for you to read 🙈😂

Happy Saturday all ☀️🥰

Kiza · 24/04/2021 19:40

@Lottiepink I've just done a little reading (which I'm sure you have already) and it would appear that many studies suggest the repair first then TTC naturally, if no joy then IVF. Particularly if he is experiencing Semen difficulties with that diagnosis. It's such a personal decision to make but I think if it was us and we had been TTC for so long and had all that info I'd rather go down the repair route first knowing that the NHS only offers so many rounds of IVF, I think I'd want to max our chances. How long is the wait for the repair?

XjustagirlX · 26/04/2021 07:33

@Lottiepink if you go down the ivf route could they do icsi where they will pick out the best sperm to put with the egg? Personally I would just get going with ivf with your free round. You can then do the repair for future babies. This is all assuming they will do icsi. For ages I didn’t want ivf because I wanted to naturally conceive a baby like everyone else but it’s been so long now that I just want a baby however that happens. Plus it’s free nhs and I can always try again naturally for future babies.

MIW01 · 26/04/2021 11:33

@Lottiepink is there an age limit in your area? Jist speaking from personal experience as despite allowing over 3+ years leeway we still ran out of time in the previous area! So that's my main caution to you. But personally I think of time (and age) are on your side then get the repair done. If you are over age 30 I would just take the fastest option tbh as time and age are unfortunately such critical factors for us!

I forgot to say on here earlier, I had wonderful news last week the my FSH levels came back within range so we are getting an appointment to discuss options with the NHS on Thursday! So happy and relieved when I found out I cried tears of joy! Sorry to repeat myself @Annny27 - I hope the lap brings you some answers

Wow @Kiza 16 weeks seems to have gone so quickly already! hope you are feeling OK in yourself?

@orangeloo hope you are OK and wishing you best of luck ❤

whatsthecraic91 · 28/04/2021 18:34

Hey ladies just popped on to read your updates. Hope you're all doing ok!

@Annny27 when I went for my private scan that time they suspected endo and I conceived 2 months later so don't give up hope! Also good in a way that you have something that can be fixed 🤞🏼

@Kiza 16 weeks, amazing!! I didn't feel like I could relax until after my 20 week scan & the whole thing felt surreal until I had my baby in my arms. I'm so happy for you 😊 hope you're feeling good!!

Annny27 · 29/04/2021 09:51

Morning :)

@whatsthecraic91 oh that gives me so much hope :D why did they think you had endo?

I mean I conceived before so it can happen I know that 🥰

@miw01 amazing news about FSH :D good luck with your appointment today, let us know how it goes

@lottiepink I would do ivf (icsi)! And then do the treatment for him whilst you are pregnant to make sure all is good for a potential baby number 2

@xjustagirlx did you test bfn last cycle?

OP posts:
XjustagirlX · 29/04/2021 10:02

@Annny27 yes it was a bfn.

So I’ve had lots of blood tests done recently. And I have the following issues:
I have the coeliac gene. So it’s 40x more likely I will miscarry
I have a gene which means I don’t process folic acid well
I have the right side tube a bit sluggish
My lining is thin
I have high nk cells

MIW01 · 29/04/2021 18:09

@Lottiepink I now find myself in a very similar position, we just had our appointment with the GP specialist and she suggested suspected endometriosis due to my pain and heavy bleeding! So said we can either go straight to IVF or have the Laparoscopy first. As there is only a 2-3 month wait for lap in this area I've decided to go ahead with the Lap 1st and see what happens!

Annny27 · 29/04/2021 18:23

@miw01 wow that's a good time - I am having an appointment with my surgeon next week and I guess they will tell me the wait time for the lap! Hopefully it does the trick for both of us ❤❤

@xjustagirlx lots to consider! Are you moving to ivf?

OP posts:
XjustagirlX · 29/04/2021 21:04

@Annny27 I’ve got my ivf referral appointment in 2 weeks so I’m expecting to start ivf around my June or July cycle. Hopefully if my estimates are correct.

Lozzlepop · 01/05/2021 14:31

Hi all,

Had our initial IVF appointment and AMH blood test- everything came back normal for my age range so have been places on a standard protocol- have an appointment on May 20th not sure what the next step is or when?

Today is our "should be wedding day" So we are off for our menu tasting and to stay overnight at our wedding venue- cant wait for a little bit of normality! Hope everyone is well ☺️

@Kiza @orangeloo @Annny27 @XjustagirlX @MIW01 how you ladies all doing?

orangeloo · 01/05/2021 15:21

Ooh so many updates

@Annny27 I can't believe you reported these symptoms and they just said vaginismus. Unfortunately I know this type of thing is typical for ending sufferers.

@Kiza ah I can imagine. I remember thinking after my EC I. The midst of my constipation that I can't believe anyone actually has a fresh transfer haha. 16 weeks is amazing, each new week and milestone must feel great. I think I will be like you though and understand a bit reluctant to believe it all until babe in arms.

Thanks @Lottiepink You've probably made decision now but fwiw, personally. I would forge ahead with IVF and get on the list for op too. Check they can do icsi and just go ahead. You have nothing to loose and would hate a long wait for op or it be delayed and regret holding off on ivf after all.

@MIW01 this is great newsre your FSH!! Really happy and relieved for you!

@XjustagirlX it may seem a lot to contend with but there is so much that can done. It's a positive you know what you are dealing with now.

@Lozzlepop sounds like a lovely weekend.
If you know your protocol should all be very quick now and start with next bleed

I am waiting for my next period for FET. Though it was first bleed but no. Fine with the delay actually as more time for body to recover and I also started back at work after a year furloughed this week 😱 shock to the system and very tired so wouldn't have wanted transfer right now anyway as I would be worried the stress of going back to work wold effect things.
Colleague had a baby today and found out so many people expecting, it's very hard!. I wonder how obvious it's getting that I avoid baby talk.

P.s just love this group

MIW01 · 02/05/2021 20:19

@orangeloo I really empathise with how challenging the baby talk thing is - I find myself feeling so bitter about it all right now, I have to work really hard to flip it and visualise when it will be me standing there with an adorable new born in my arms enjoying the attention and cooing my newborn is getting and feeling like a proud Mum! So . . . Effin . . . Hard! Grin

@Annny27 I know we're so fortunate with the wait times! This GP is so on it, I'm impressed. Fingers crossed yours goes all OK. I'd love it if this sorts us out and we don't need the IVF but we know it's there if we do need it

Thanks @Lozzlepop glad results came back OK and exciting it will be happening soon!

Annny27 · 07/05/2021 07:33

I hesitantly post this positive test! I am in shock tbh and really hoping this is my rainbow 🙏🏻🙏🏻🌈🌈🌈

We only had sex once the day before ovulation and once the day after.....(i didnt test on opks so just assumed ovulation)

@Annny27 wow congratulations!! Lovely sight to see. Wishing you very sticky baby dust.
Did u have symptoms?

@Lozzlepop oh okay haha maybe not next bleed then. I feel physically good mentally not so much. Being back at work is good though as my brain is more occupied and less room for baby thoughts.

IVF has definitely affected me more than I thought it would emotionally. I just feel there is a dark funk of a scar that I'm not sure will ever go away.
I used to hear people say they can't go through more ivf because of the trauma. I used to feel they were 100% valid but always thought I would do it for a decade if that's what it takes. Now, I get it. I have more rounds in me if I need them sure but I understand now why people have to stop. Sorry to be glum and I'm not trying to scare anyone just think it helps to be prepared for the emotional toll.
Surrounded by expecting people atm another colleague told me they were expecting and to add insult to injury they went on to say like 6 of their mates were having babies too. Good to know, thanks.
Had my hair done yesterday and my hairdresser is pregnant 🙈. I know people have babies all the time and I do expect this news from people but I'm so surrounded atm.
