@XjustagirlX hey, hope you're ok and glad to hear it's going well. I had my first BFP and then started bleeding a few days later. Just waiting for EPU to confirm my HCG is going down and then I'll stop the meds. Did you have any chemicals/early losses? I can't remember, I'm looking for hope to cling to.

We meet the Lister next week to discuss starting all over again, not that I really have the will for it.

thislittlebird · 07/10/2022 15:46

@Annny27 glad to hear it's going well

Annny27 · 07/10/2022 15:46

@XjustagirlX 17 weeks that's very exciting!!! Are you finding out the gender?

Glad your sickness is fading, the 2nd trimester is a lovely time 🥰🥰

We are being induced around 39 weeks so it's not long now! Feels surreal 😍

@Lozzlepop sounds lovely!! Even though the sleep deprivation must be so tricky to handle! were you able to breastfeed (if you wanted to) ?
Are you dressing him up for Halloween?

@thislittlebird so sorry for your loss, that's heartbreaking:( was the bfp from your ivf?

OP posts:
thislittlebird · 07/10/2022 15:49

@Annny27 yeah it was our final embryo. The other one didn't survive the thaw so we're back to square one again, 3 years after we started trying.

Annny27 · 07/10/2022 16:24

That's incredibly tough 😥😥😥 do you get one more nhs round or is it onto private options now? @thislittlebird

OP posts:
thislittlebird · 07/10/2022 16:26

@Annny27 no, all private now. We’ll probably pay for two more egg collection rounds at most and then just resign ourselves to childlessness if those fail. I’m too old and too tired of it all.

Lozzlepop · 08/10/2022 02:44

@Annny27 I breastfed exclusively for 4 weeks any then we added in some formula. He’s now fully formula as unfortunately I wasn’t producing enough and it just wasn’t really working for us which im gutted about but at the same time I always said I’d try and not put too much pressure on myself! He’s thriving so it was the correct decision for us! He will absolutely be getting dressed up lol!

@XjustagirlX 17 weeks, that’s so exciting! The sickness can be a killer but fab it’s starting to ease and you can hopefully enjoy this part of your pregnancy! Do you have any inclination as to what you are having?

@thislittlebird so sorry for your loss,
I have everything crossed that
going private works for you both!

So we are going on holiday today, first holiday in over 3 years and Of course my period decided to come back just in time for it 🙄🙄

Annny27 · 09/10/2022 08:19

@thislittlebird that's really tough and egg collections are so emotionally (and financially!) Draining :( allow yourself time to grieve before giving it another go. Would you consider donor eggs or is the issue with your other halfs sperm quality?

@Lozzlepop I think that's all you can do isnt it, just give it a go and see how it pans out. Pretty amazing you did 4 weeks of it! I am hopeful to breastfeed but similar to you, trying not to put pressure on myself if it doesnt work out

whatsthecraic91 · 09/10/2022 19:33

@XjustagirlX 17 weeks! How exciting are you going to find out what you're having?

@Annny27 37 weeks 😍😍 omg I bet you can't wait for that little bundle to be in you arms.

@Lozzlepop 3 months old wow, time is flying. I can't believe how many babies have become of this thread now 🤩

My DS is 21 months & my DD is 20 weeks old now. She's an absolute dream like her big brother feeding like a champ. Big bro is getting hard work these days, terrible 2s incoming 😂

XjustagirlX · 09/10/2022 20:05

@thislittlebird Im sorry to hear that. i had three natural early losses. And then I never got a bfp with ivf except this one. I honestly think what helped me was the prednosoline.

@Annny27 @Lozzlepop @whatsthecraic91 we aren’t finding out what we are having but I have a feeling it is a boy.

thislittlebird · 09/10/2022 21:11

@Annny27 i wish I could but I don’t really have time to pause. I’m 40 next year, I had no idea I’d be this old and still have never made any progress but here we are. There’s no point looking for donors, we don’t have one identifiable problem so who knows it would work with his sperm in someone else’s egg or my egg with someone else’s sperm. And I really would like my own kids like other people get to have.

@XjustagirlX for some reason I thought you had an early ivf loss, but it sounds like it was all BFNs. Did you have two or three attempts? I self medicated with pred this cycle and it was the first time I ever achieve implantation. I did it because I know I have immune issues and thought it was worth a shot, I think your theory could be right.

XjustagirlX · 09/10/2022 21:23

@thislittlebird no i had 2 cancelled cycles as my lining wasn’t responding to the drugs. Then 3 natural cycles with bfns. Then this cycle we put 2 embryos in but only one took. Yeah I really do think it was the prednisoline.

As you are going private this time you may find that you get better care and can add on other stuff. The nhs is very basic with what you can try.

thislittlebird · 09/10/2022 21:32

@XjustagirlX interesting. We may well have a quality/viability issue because of our age now, but we can’t really help that. I was supposed to do two this cycle but one didn’t survive the thaw. How long do you have to take the pred for?

Yeah we’re meeting the Lister on Wednesday. I am hoping for better care, the last month of so with my nhs clinic has been atrocious. Sending me invoices, chasing me for payment for money I don’t owe, me arguing with them about it, no on replying to me emails asking for help. I took myself to EPU but I was really disappointed the clinic do literally nothing when you have issues after a positive test. Wouldn’t even blood test me.

Annny27 · 09/10/2022 23:28

@thislittlebird sounds like such a hard situation with no real answers or definitive next steps :( Have they checked for endometriosis with you? I had little to no symptoms

@whatsthecraic91 that's so good she is feeding well ♥️ how does your son get on with her? Haha oh no entering the terrible twos will be a fun experience!

@XjustagirlX that will be exciting to have a surprise:D whens your due date again?

whatsthecraic91 · 15/10/2022 20:01

@Annny27 he absolutely loves her now. At the beginning not so much 😂 he can say her name & is always giving her kisses it's adorable 😍 I hope you're enjoying your last couple of weeks of pregnancy before the fun starts 🤩xx

Annny27 · 25/10/2022 20:26

Hello :) our little boy was born by csection after a long induction on saturday.
He was very poorly immediatley after birth and was immediately transfered to a specialist hospital 1.5 hours away - he is in the NICU and is intubated with machines breathing for him but he is stable at the moment and making small progresses 💙💙

We are so in love with him he is just adorable 💙💙💙

Lozzlepop · 25/10/2022 20:59

@Annny27 massive congratulations to you both! Sorry to hear your little man was so poorly but they are such little fighters and he sounds like he’s doing well and is in the best place. What weight was he? Do you have a name for this little champ yet? Hope you are doing ok recovery wise. I’ll be keeping you all in my thoughts! Xx

XjustagirlX · 26/10/2022 20:00

@Annny27 congratulations on your baby boy. Hopefully he will be hone very soon.

@thislittlebird soery I must have missed your last message. I took prednosoline from just after transfer to 12 weeks. It actually stopped my horrendous sickness as I was so ill from 12 weeks.

whatsthecraic91 · 26/10/2022 21:30

@Annny27 aww congratulations!! Hope you're both recovering well! Keep us updated xx

whatsthecraic91 · 12/11/2022 10:34

@Annny27 how are you & baby doing lovely x

Annny27 · 12/11/2022 11:06

Thank you everyone! Me and baby are still at the hospital in the NiCU poor little guy! So I am permanently attached to the pump making milk haha!

Hows everyone else getting on?

whatsthecraic91 · 14/11/2022 10:48

@Annny27 I hope he's ok and you can go home soon! How are coping with it all? Hope you're feeling & recovering well. Well done, pumping is such hard work!! I'm back at work now 3 days a week & pumping at work 3 times a day, it's not easy!

We are getting on well DD is now 6 months & weaning! DS is now 20months & an absolute handful 😂 time is flying x
