Im supposed to test on 22nd March. But the only reason I can think they want people to wait is because if you have a medicated cycle then hcg is sometimes taken so you could get a false positive.

But I am thinking I’m going to test early because I’m unmedicated, if it’s a chemical I would like to know, and I need to take prednosoline on getting a positive so the earlier I know the better.

Statistically if it is positive it should show up around 6dp5dt, so by Tuesday next week.

Kiza · 11/03/2022 12:19

Just popped on and oh wow congrats @Annny27 !!! Really hoping this is a sticky one for you!

@XjustagirlX that's awful they didn't listen to your request for sedation as I had sedation for the same reasons as you. We also tested 2 days early on a fresh transfer- just couldn't wait! Fingers crossed for you

@Lozzlepop congrats also!! So lovely to see some more old timers getting their wonderful news!

My little boy is now 5 months! Time is flying! He's certainly a defiant and challenging little one rather than the chilled out and placid baby I thought all babies were! 😅

Annny27 · 13/03/2022 21:32

@whatsthecraic91 thanks lovely! Does your little boy understand that his little sister will be arriving or not quite old enough to get it yet?

@kiza thank you 💗💗 wow 5 months!!! Thats incredible. Is he having food yet or giving it another month or so before starting weaning?

@xjustagirlx best of luck for Tuesday! Yeah I guess you will be 11dpo equivalent by then so you will probably see your positive if you are pregnant but it also might be a bit too early. Have you had any symptoms?

Thats really rubbish about the lack of sedation :/

XjustagirlX · 13/03/2022 22:06

@Annny27 Im feeling quite down about it. I felt positive for a couple of days and I felt some cramps but I thought that was good hoping something was going on in there.

Two days after transfer my bbt started to drop slightly. Today I had red blood spotting only a bit but I don’t think that’s positive. I don’t have any other symptoms. No sore boobs.

So I’m kinda expecting a negative.

Annny27 · 14/03/2022 20:29

Totally understand why you feel a bit down xx
I think a few people have had spotting in their tww and it had been a positive outcome. I will be keeping everything crossed for you tomorrow 💗💗 @xjustagirlx

OP posts:
XjustagirlX · 15/03/2022 07:56

My test was negative at 5.5dp5dt. Transfer was after 4pm so I’m using half days.

Annny27 · 15/03/2022 08:00

Sorry to hear that 😪😪 @XjustagirlX :(

It is still fairly early so do retry in a few days. But I understand that you will be feeling quite down xxx

Hi all 👋🏻

How are we all doing?

@Annny27 lovely to pop on and see your scan pic, how many weeks are you now? How have you been feeling?

@XjustagirlX sorry to hear the transfer was not done under the best circumstances, how are you feeling now? Have you tested again?

@Kiza thank you so much, I can’t believe your little one is 5 months already where does the time go? Hope you are enjoying motherhood ❤️

XjustagirlX · 19/03/2022 18:48

@Lozzlepop i did a test on 5.5 and 7.5 dp5dt. Both were negative. I’ve not tested since as I couldn’t take the disappointment.

I think I might just wait until my OTD. I did check with the clinic though snd my notes now say I should be sedated!

thislittlebird · 19/03/2022 19:39

@XjustagirlX sorry to hear what’s been going on with the sedation and test. The doctor agreed to give me a sedative of some kind to calm me down, it’s my mind that’s the main issue, I freaked out when I went in for transfer (I wasn’t well, couldn’t breathe properly) because they weren’t listening to my requests. The idea it’s easy and you should just get on with it really is frustrating. Keep us posted on your OTD, fingers crossed for you.

I have to book my FET when AF arrives. I’ve enquired about a natural FET because I’ve had huge issues with thrush since the IVF, as well as hormonal migraines that I get most months anyway that the oestradiol will likely trigger them when I withdraw. Really don’t want to take it, my issue is that I don’t get positives on ovulation tests but my lining is always ok, it is the proof of ovulation I’ll struggle with. I think I might try it natural nonetheless, I would rather an uncertain ovulation than oestradiol. Maybe I’ll use clear blue ones with the LH rise.

XjustagirlX · 19/03/2022 21:01

@thislittlebird thanks. I was physically shaking on the bed and the nurses had to hold my legs down!

When I did my natural FET, they scanned me lots and once my follicle reached a certain size then they did some blood tests. It was much easier doing a natural FET.

Gillseybear · 19/03/2022 22:27

Can I join this thread please. This is my first time properly TTC although I have had 2 MC's before from unplanned pregnancy. They both occurred while I was on the pill.
My partner already had a 9 year old from a previous relationship.

thislittlebird · 20/03/2022 09:14

@Gillseybear welcome!

@XjustagirlX yeah, it’s not nice that you have to just suffer this shit and everyone thinks it’s fine because they do it day in day out. I find the lack of support through this process really hard. I’m doing counselling on April 7th, but I really did need it way before then. Oh well. I’m going to push for natural FET, it’s just complicated by us going away around the time AF ends for a week. Need to see when it comes, but hoping my scan might be a day or two late and they’ll be ok with that.

Gillseybear · 20/03/2022 11:10

@thislittlebird thank you so much.

Annny27 · 26/03/2022 18:24

Hello :)

@xjustagirlx what's the next steps for you - do you have more frozen embryos?

@lozzlepop I am 9 weeks now, had a scan today and measuring on dates and lovely to see baby wiggling about 🥰 how about you?

OP posts:
XjustagirlX · 26/03/2022 18:36

@Annny27 IVe got 8 frozen embryos left. I can go again on my next period, which I expect will be Sunday or Monday as I had some spotting today. No change to my protocol so it will be natural again but this time I will be sedated for Transfer. I’m just hoping they are open over Easter weekend as it might clash.

This weekend is hard though as I’ve had a child’s birthday party plus Mother’s Day!

Kiza · 27/03/2022 16:59

Sending love to you all today- I know how shit it can be and how much our hearts break longing to be mums 💜

Lozzlepop · 27/03/2022 18:54

@Gillseybear hello and welcome

@thislittlebird I really hope the counselling goes well, how many sessions do you get? I feel it is something that is definitely lacking around TTC is additional support in the form of counselling. Has AF arrived yet?

@Annny27 aww that’s amazing news I’m so pleased for you! I’ll be 28 weeks on Tuesday- can hardly believe it! I’ve actually had a really smooth pregnancy although have just had Covid which was pretty rough!

@XjustagirlX fingers crossed that everything is more comfortable feeling with the sedation, did you manage to find out if the clinic is open over Easter? Sending you lots of love today.

Sending lots of love and baby dust to everyone whatever stage of the journey you are on it’s been a rough ride for us all ❤️

rosecbrm · 28/03/2022 15:26

Hello all, I'm new here Smile
Firstly, congratulations to those who are pregnant and best of luck to all those actively trying

I'm in a sticky situation, I'm 24, been with my partner for 6 years, homeowner, and been in a stable job for 3 years now (straight out of university).

My partner is a few years older than me and has been talking about the idea of children for a while now and likes the idea of 'trying but not trying', and if it happens it happens kind of thing (I know it's not that simple!)

Long story short, I have been on the combined pill for a good 8 years I would say now, and this whole conversation came up because I expressed how I'd like to come off the pill just as I want to be free of any synthetic hormones - sounds silly but I don't actually know what my natural cycle/mental state is like and I just really want to see if I would feel better not being on it.
When having this discussion with my partner I decided it's definitely something I want to do, but we would be careful as TTC didn't seem like the right thing at this time when we originally spoke about it. But after a few more conversations he had more of a 'if it happened would it actually be a bad thing?' kind of attitude, and to a degree I agree with him.

In an ideal world, I would want to wait TTC until September, for various reasons including holidays, work etc etc.

I have a few concerns and just wanted peoples opinions really..

  1. Am I too young? Lots of my friends and people I know of the same age have children and I don't see them as being too young at all, but I hate the thought of being judged by work colleagues for example. But then I think back on that and think it's silly to plan my life around what others may or may not think.

We have done lots of travelling together before we settled down and purchased the house and a dog etc, so I know we are settled and financially (as anyone can be I guess) we wouldn't struggle with a baby. - I hope this doesn't sound ignorant in any way!

  1. I have a few holidays booked this year... is it worth holding off for those? In my head this seems like a sensible idea, but at the same time I also think when is there ever a time where you don't have something planned?
  1. Work. I have been at my workplace for 3 years now and worked my way up, I really enjoy my job.
My boss is due to go on maternity leave in a few weeks and there isn't anyone replacing her, therefore the responsibility kind of lies with me. I worry then if I did get pregnant what would happen. Sound so silly I know but it is just in my head.
  1. My pill. Like I stated above, ideally we would start TTC in around September time when majority of the things I stated above wouldn't be much of a worry by then. But at the same time I think is it worth waiting for?

Sorry for the long first post, it would just be great to have some opinions!
Also, be good to know how people found coming off their pill etc. and any tips
Be good to know of anyone who came off the pill in preparation for TTC later down the line, what steps did you take to be careful? I have the flow app download and ready to use but I don't know how reliable that is in terms of fertile days etc.!

I just want to add finally, this is all on the presumption that I am actually able to conceive, this is another worry of mine seeing as it's obviously never happened before.
I also know that coming off the pill doesn't mean you will get pregnant straight away, but I'm just trying to think of every eventuality!

whatsthecraic91 · 29/03/2022 11:55

@Annny27 how are you doing lovely?

@Lozzlepop 28 weeks!! So exciting. Hope you are well other than covid ☺️

@Kiza hope you had a lovely first Mother's Day

HMC98 · 29/03/2022 12:12

Hey I'm new here so not sure if I'm doing this right but I'm trying to get pregnant and having no luck. Can anybody give me some advice

HMC98 · 12/04/2022 22:09

Hi, I'm new here and looking for some advice maybe with getting pregnant. I feel I'm trying everything and getting no where.

Annny27 · 16/04/2022 11:25

Hi ladies, We had some unexpected news at our 12 week scan so probably going to take a break and will update you when all results are back.

Baby measuring 11+6 with heartbeat which was great. But the NT measurments were very high indicating an abnormality so we have been referred to fetal medicine. Keeping my fingers crossed that all is okay 🤞🤞

whatsthecraic91 · 17/04/2022 19:44

@Annny27 fingers crossed all is ok. In my due Jan '21 Facebook group this happened to quite a few ladies and all of them were 100% fine after investigation. Keep us updated 🙏🏼x

Annny27 · 19/04/2022 09:53
