@SamBass both AF and hormones for a pregnancy test.
Everyone is so different, I still had a faint positive after about 4 weeks so hospital asked me to go in for a scan and before hand they asked me to do a sample and it was negative on their test so obviously there's aren't as good as the FRER ones 🙈 Thursday is a good day to test as HCG should double every 48 hours so you'll know for sure by then I'd say by comparing 😊

Your right its so different for everyone and so difficult 😞 i did ring the EPU this morning and they said it was likely a new pregnancy given ive had a negative (they didn't seem bothered that i used a less sensitive test) weren't interested in scanning me or anything just said to test in a few days. Yeah i will do my best to hold of until Thursday

TheDaydreamBelievers · 20/04/2021 17:25

Hey @bez91 - thank you for thinking of me.

My updates are that my miscarriage testing came back as no explanation, and I'm back trying to conceive. My cycles are complete nonsense and I'm very frustrated about my lack of ovulation. I've been referred to the fertility pathway due to it, but due to covid19 the waitlist is in the region of 6 months +

Marvellouslymadmum · 20/04/2021 17:30

@SamBass I completely get that you don't want to get your hopes up, I was also told it should be negative after two weeks so 🤞🏻 for you, Thursday should give you an answer as it should be a little darker by then

@Canadadarling no one should judge you for your choices, like I said I waited after the first mc and wish I hadn't now as a lot of people get their bfp after a mc

TheDaydreamBelievers · 20/04/2021 19:09

@SamBass stressful, but you will have to wait to see if it gets stronger. After surgery I took 9 weeks to get a negative FRER! (Loss discovered at 12 weeks, baby died at 11 weeks)

bez91 · 20/04/2021 19:35

@TheDaydreamBelievers good to hear from you 😊 very frustrating as no explanation. Have you had quite a few anovulatory cycles? I've just had my first lot of bloods this month, pretty normal cycles (they seem more stable than before the last MC) but low estrogen and progesterone going by the 21 day bloods so no ovulation this month. Got to wait another few weeks to discuss results with a doctor 🙄
Did your GP not suggest anything just referred you straight away?

SamBass · 20/04/2021 19:38

@Marvellouslymadmum yeah i think im going to hold out and test Thursday

@TheDaydreamBelievers o 9 weeks wow maybe it is residual hormones showing on mine then 🤷🏽‍♀️ how long after surgery did it take to get your AF? I was pretty sure I ovulated 5/6th April but now I'm questioning it like everything lol

TheDaydreamBelievers · 20/04/2021 19:44

@bez91 yeah, I've not had a normal cycle since coming off the pill- cycle 1 was 141 days long (no ovulation); cycle 2 conceived CD33; MMC; 9 weeks until AF; cycle 3 49 days long (maybe ovulation, app not sure), currently on CD39 of cycle 4 with no ovualtion.

@SamBass period came the day after the tests went blank. When you say you think you ovulated- was that OPKs or temps?

TheDaydreamBelievers · 20/04/2021 19:45

Spery meant to say @bez91 bloods done by GP and look fine. The only thing they showed was that I havent ovulated yet... knew that!

bez91 · 20/04/2021 19:48

@TheDaydreamBelievers yes not very insightful are they 🤦🏼‍♀️ that's bloody frustrating, I mean I say I'm happy about the cycle being more regular but it makes no odds if no egg does it 😆 I'm going to wait my phone appointment from GP and if referral is miles away see if I can get any tests done privately

OP posts:
SamBass · 20/04/2021 19:48

@TheDaydreamBelievers i think I ovulated due to opks and CM pains on one side etc. I wish i took a FRER when i got the negative with the Asda test 3 weeks after surgery then i wouldn't be in such a mess now with the last two FRER's this week...

elsimo · 20/04/2021 20:57

@bez91 that was a quick result for u!
Bloody rubbish u have to wait so long to discuss these tho.
Hopefully they have identified an issue tho and its a simple fix

elsimo · 20/04/2021 21:00

@SamBass I think this could be a new pregnancy! I used the Asda tests and found they were pretty sensitive xx

SamBass · 20/04/2021 22:01

@elsimo I really hope so but loosing a-bit of hope as today's test didn't seem much darker than yesterday's :( I really want it to be my BFP but feels to good to be true with my MMC surgery only being 5 and half weeks ago...

Fingerscrossedfor2021HK · 21/04/2021 03:16

Thanks for all the kind messages! It is somehow quite comforting to know that others have similar feelings Smile

MammaJ21 · 21/04/2021 08:01

@SamBass. After my first mc I had and 28 days later. I had negative within a week.

This time I had a negative within a few days...I double checked a few days later too. I just used some cheapy ones.

I'm 21 days post first day of bleeding for MC and I feel like af is coming with cramps etc.
I feel it's too early for her as I know a lot of people don't get AF for longer after MC. I thought first time 28 days til af was good from the first one, meaning everything had passed etc.

SamBass · 21/04/2021 08:19

@MammaJ21 that you thats helpful. Assuming my surgery day is cycled day 1 in now on cycle day 38 so just have to wait and test again I guess

gizmo167 · 21/04/2021 10:39

This mornings test on CB x

SamBass · 21/04/2021 10:57

@gizmo167 congratulations looks like a BFP to me 😃 how long since your miscarriage has it been?

Fingerscrossedfor2021HK · 21/04/2021 11:24

@gizmo167 - this looks super clear positive! Hurrah!

MammaJ21 · 21/04/2021 11:46

Ah it's so hard to know isn't it! They say around up to 6 weeks don't they, but depending on how far gone you were etc.

It looks like it could well be a new one. fingers crossed for you lovely!

@gizmo167 congratulations and sending lots of positivity x

gizmo167 · 21/04/2021 12:00

Thanks everyone, going to be a tense few weeks, please don't let it be a third loss!

susiebluebell · 21/04/2021 12:14

Wonderful to see @gizmo167 and fingers crossed it all goes smoothly from here.

@SamBass I know that frustration of thinking 'if only I could work out X, then I'd know what was going on'... but with a lot of TTC you will only see results after a period of time, and I think doing repeats of pg tests every 2-3 days is the best way to tell, for you.

If I was in your shoes, I'd have a couple of drinks on Friday, not get hammered, but just relax and enjoy myself. Either way, the potential baby doesn't get its nutrition directly from you yet (too early for umbilical cord) so having one or two drinks isn't the worst. And think of how many people get pregnant while sloshed on holiday Wink

gizmo167 · 21/04/2021 14:46

@SamBass my last mc was on 14 Feb, had my first af on 22 March, took a year between my first mc and last bfp so didn't expect to fall as quickly, really praying this one sticks!
