As the Post Pill Party Mosh Pit dies down... sweaty and bewildered, the ladies head to the bar to freshen up. Suddenly, a fiddler bursts onto the stage, beginning a merry tune. Everybody swings into an energetic Ceilidh!

Our heads are spinning, our bodies are knackered but we arent giving up dancing when the music is this catchy!

This is the 8th post pill party thread for women whose bodies don't know the correct dance steps after hormonal contraception. Raise a dram to combating delayed ovulation, flabberghasting follicular phases, loopy luteal phases, bizzare temp charts and OPKs whiter than a Scotsman's bum!

@TheDaydreamBelievers I see what you mean. Such a tricky one isn’t it. Your temps have definitely gone up since the dip but I suppose it’s not conclusive. I hate all the uncertainty and waiting and seeing. Hoping you have x

@TheDaydreamBelievers Hopefully you're having a mid LP estrogen surge causing your temp to dip and you'll see it rise again tomorrow.

@Cams50 Interestingly when I was reading the NICE guidelines shared by @Moocher90 last night I'm sure it said that the 21 day test should indeed be done on day 21, and then every 7 days after until ovulation is detected or AF turns up. Seems like doctors are doing the first part, but not the follow up tests.

@Cams50 yeah agree with Kay that it's a shame they insisted on Day 21 and then didn't follow up! I still think I was so lucky to have a GP who told me to come in when I was 7DPO per my BBT chart lol.

@TheDaydreamBelievers gah that is a crappy one to interpret isn't it! Tbh potentially you did ovulate but had a weak progesterone response to follow? Wait and see is no fun when TTC...

@Cams50 @Juno231 @Kay00 yeah absolutely, I just have to wait. I just feel like my whole life is waiting at the moment (whineeee). Don't we all? I guess only 10 more days to go to find out if that was ovulation or not!

@TheDaydreamBelievers more waiting, such fun haha! Hope you're ok. My chart last cycle had SUCH a low BBT rise after ovulation 🤷🏼‍♀️ guessing as @Juno231 says it's due to lower progesterone... Not conducive to conceiving really but I'm guessing it's just our bodies healing after the MC.

@Juno231 I can't believe AF hasn't showed yet! Would obvs be fab if it didn't come and it was just a late BFP but I can see you had your temp drop today. At least as you say the timing works well with the HSG!

My AF is nearly gone now 🥳 passed relatively quickly and easily! Was a tad heavier than normal but no where near as bad as I was imagining and it was so good to be able to use my menstrual cup again. Now to start the count down to FW! I'm going to start doing one opk a day from tomorrow just because I'm A) terrified I'll miss an early O, and B) I miss peeing on sticks 😂 attaching my chart purely because the synchronicity of my BBT and my RHR is making me smile!

@LauraT94 Well as luck has it - AF showed up this afternoon! I'm so excited lol. And your chart is looking lovely! I'm due O on the 2nd or 3rd now as well so you can be my new cycle buddy this time . Assume our bodies play ball of course...

@Juno231 erm... congratulations and commiserations in equal measure!

@kay00 I'm def happy this time! I think if I had started getting BFPs at this point I'd be really worried about it having implanted late (and therefore being high risk for miscarriage) or that it had implanted in the wrong location.

@Juno231 I didn’t even realise the LP could be more than 14 days 😂😂. I was yours 16 this cycle?

I’m 14dpo today so I feel like I’ve accomplished a normal cycle after last months disaster 😂. Glad to be back to normal and looking forward to AF so I can be back on the grapefruit 😂😂😂

@sperr ha I think they can go to max 17 days? Today was 16DPO but if I got AF I guess that means I only made it to 15! I'm glad you got a full length LP this time ! Will you be testing any time soon?

Yeap @Juno231 Ive hit true madness. Think I need some time off mumsnet (that genuinely is a bit true - feeling v preoccupied with TTC and so could perhaps benefit from time off)

Girls, I've been out of this for a while so sorry to just jump back in out of nowhere!
I'm having a shjt-show this month, had a 25day cycle last month with 8day LP which was disheartening... this month I'm already CD19 with zero signs of upcoming ovulation 😩 (OPK's twice a day). Has anyone experienced delayed ovulation after coming off the pill even a few months down the line? I took Cerelle for 8 years.

@glow92 I'm sorry you're feeling disheartened! We know how you feel. I How many months have you been off the pill? Remember that @TheDaydreamBelievers even had a 141 day and then had a late ovulation after that but still conceived then! Just hang in there

@glow92 yeah the cycle I conceived on I ovulated CD33! So late ovulation does not mean no shot.

@Kay00 that is interesting. I feel like GPs don’t know anything about this stuff. Another blood test would literally be perfect for me! It is a bit frustrating. @Juno231 yea I agree! I wish my GP had agreed to 7dpo as opposed to CD21 regardless. Congrats on the AF! You can look ahead to the HSG and new cycle now.

@LauraT94 that’s good that your AF is finishing! Onto the fresh cycle.

@TheDaydreamBelievers haha I feel you! It’s driving me mad too lol. I keep saying I’ll take a break from everything - temping etc - but never do.

@glow92 I ovulated anywhere from CD16-19 ish and then the last couple of cycles it’s gone up to CD20-21ish so it can vary I think. I also get short LPs. So annoying

@glow92 actually last cycle it went up to CD23 I think

I'm just worried as cycles have been so short to now, I'm allowing myself one more day of OPK's then sacking them off... definitely think temping is the way to go, been admiring the charts on this thread 🙂. That's reassuring though, thank you... got myself into an obsessive hole this month need to square myself up!

@glow92 I also had a late ovulation (CD35) and conceived! So keep trying ❤️ that was my first cycle off the pill though so I can't give any advice for further on after coming off the pill! I did Ovulate CD19 last cycle but that was post-MC so I don't know if it's reliable 🤷🏼‍♀️

@LauraT94 will carry on dtd every other day to cover all bases 🙂, just done another and it's still a pathetic faint line! Had such clear symptoms last month for the first time I thought I'd cracked it going forward!

@Juno231 I tested at I think it was 11dpo and got nothing so I’m not holding out much hope now! If no AF tomorrow and temps still high I may purchase some ICs (and I want them for next cycle anyways!)

My cervix also normally opens the day before AF so if that opens tomorrow I’ll know what’s happening

@glow92 sorry you are feeling down about it all ☹️ The longer it takes the more frustrating it gets, all this waiting is awful. I have been off the pill for a year this month and this cycle ovulated cd30, so you still might ovulate yet.

@TheDaydreamBelievers this ttc thing is definitely driving me crazy. The song made me laugh though! With lockdown I think it is harder as we don't have much else to do except obsess about it!

Looks like I am 3DPO today. I have next week off work so will definitely be trying to find anything to distract me and to stop me from testing. I think now ovulation is confirmed I will try not temping and just see what happens.

@glow92 I know that feeling! So when I first come off the pill my first few cycles were 65-75 days long. Then they slowly came down until I ovulated cd22 two cycles in a row, one of which I had a chemical pregnancy. I had thought it had settled but this month I ovulated cd30 so I'm not completely sure what is happening. But the 2 months I ovulated on cd23 I was taking inositol (conceive plus ovulation support). Then this cycle I ovulated a week after I started to take it again so I feel like it may have helped me.
