Welcome @DawnWW and welcome @Fredsmama - I am so so sorry about your first little one. Wonderful about your rainbow.
Interesting about using these cups - never heard of this. Obviously these fertility specific ones are shallow but I use a menstrual cup and I wondered... turns out yes 😂

www.parents.com/getting-pregnant/trying-to-conceive/using-menstrual-cups-to-get-pregnant-ttc/

It makes sense although it one one more thing to make the aftermath of dtd even less sexy (legs in the air is not a good look haha).
One to try if no luck for a while, maybe. I personally think it is important to make sure you have an orgasm after he’s finished as it apparently helps the swimmers move up. The times I’ve got pregnant, this was the case anyway. We also used pro-seed so I’ll be doing all this again this time around if FW ever gets here...

@Fredsmama interesting! I will look into it for next cycle.

@Kayeyeem yes apparently it does! There's something in it (bromelain?) which is good. You should really eat actual pineapple, I'm cheating a bit by drinking the juice instead. You're supposed to cut a pineapple into five slices (including the core which isn't as nice to eat but is where a lot of the bromelain is) and then you eat one slice per day for the five days after ovulation. You shouldn't eat it after 5dpo as apparently it has something in it which might cause contractions in your uterus and interfere with implantation.

So I'm now 6 days late, still no AF, still lots of stomach cramps and period type pain. Been having it for 9 days now. It's almost like I've had a period without a bleed?? Very strange. The pain gets really bad sometimes in lower left pelvic region - trying not to google it too much. Think I'm going to phone drs on Monday if still nothing and do another test. Trying not to test too much because it's by clearly negative on a digital, it's just a bit worrying what's going on. While speaking to doctor can be asked to refer for tests as well. Anyone else feel a sense of guilt for asking them about this during a pandemic? I know it's silly to hold back because I'm not getting any younger. Don't think we will get help because my partner already has a son but hoping we can still get tested at least? Have also got fiancé's agreement to take supplements even though he doesn't think it's worth it. Lots of research to be done today on what to take for both of us!

DawnWW · 30/01/2021 10:55

Sorry, meant to also add - anyone know where stocks the FRER tests? Our local boots didn't have them so going to try supermarkets but would rather not drive round loads. Thanks all xx

@Marvellouslymadmum that one looks ok as long as kaneka Ubiquinol and you want 100-200mg

@Fredsmama welcome and sorry for your loss that’s really traumatic. Good luck 🙏

For those with short cycles I wouldn’t worry too much. My cycle has lengthened since my ds was born to 25-28 days. But I’ve conceived 3 times (1mc) with 23 day cycles preciously. I found 50mg b6 lengthened cycles though and reduced spotting

@DawnWW I try not to shop there on the regular but Amazon has FRER and obviously delivers quickly.

Don’t be worried about asking for help - the staff that work on that side are less likely to be doing work related to the pandemic after all. I would defo speak to your GP as the pains sound worrying. Could be an ovarian cyst?

Report
Kitekat81 · 30/01/2021 11:59

@DawnWW do you know when you ovulated, and how many days post-ovulation you are? You should definitely phone the docs as 9 days of unusual pain should be looked into x

Report
thislittlebird · 30/01/2021 12:01

Yeah I had to get mine from amazon too @Pamparam @DawnWW, the shops near me don’t sell them. I have a whole selection in the cupboard now, including FRER, boots and CB monitor ones (they give you two of them with every pack of ovulation sticks) which is a bit pointless because I really don’t test very often at all. Partly because I don’t see the point when AF is regular and partly because I don’t want to see any more of those bloody negatives.

Report
Marvellouslymadmum · 30/01/2021 13:09

I got my frer from Amazon too as nowhere stocks them here either and I'm not driving to a town for them!

@Loladoodle thank you yes it says it is and this one is 100 they do a 200 as well I take it that would be better? They're £15.99 or £22.99 is that a normal price?

@Fredsmama thank you, yes it's not a nice thing to go through and I know it means we can get pregnant but we've had this twice now and no sticky baby - so I'm trying anything that may help now haha

I'be only been tracking on an app and everything has moved because I'm not logging a period now so it's difficult to tell. Looking back to when I remember it was I think 17 days past when it showed the fertility period ending. I have got the CB ovulation packs but haven't used them yet as fiancé was getting a bit freaked out by it all and saying I was being obsessive. To be fair it was in the first month or so but I was keen to get going. Feeling quite sick today as well and smells are making me queasy. Still hopefull but more worried something is wrong as even if dates were wrong surely I'd have something by now? AF or BFP??

Marvellouslymadmum · 30/01/2021 14:09

Hi @DawnWW I know how you feel, I had this last month was on cd54 before I got an answer that I was pregnant! That then unfortunately ended in mc but I was so confused with it all! I had phoned my gp and was booked in for bloods etc so it's worth giving them a call. My oh gets freaked by it all aswell so I tend to keep what I'm tracking to myself and only mention what I need to, then I talk to the ladies on here. It works for us 😊

My AF was 5 days late in December for no good reason, just to wind me up.

Can I pick your brains? I have to redo a 21 day test next week because my last one was low, but I struggle to know when to go. This month I seem to have ovulated on CD17 (yesterday) according to bbt. Should I go for the bloods on Wednesday 3rd Feb (7 days before AF is due, as doctor said) or on Friday 2nd Feb (7 days after I’ve ovulated). I can’t figure out when I’m most likely to get the progesterone result they’re looking for. What do you think is best?

Report
Kitekat81 · 30/01/2021 18:33

@thislittlebird I would just go for Thursday. The important thing is that you are going in the middle of your luteal phase, as progesterone rises after ovulation and then falls as you approach your period, so you don't want to go too soon after ovulation or too close to your period x

@DawnWW welcome! You're in the right place, lovely! So much knowledge, advice, and experience here; it's helped me a lot! 😃 If it helps, I take folic acid, vit D, and CoQ10 every day! Last one is a new addition! 😃

@Marvellouslymadmum glad to hear it! Have you started any of the tracking yet?? Hope your regular cycle kicks in soon! 😘

@Loladoodle @selina37 after reading the "egg"
Website, I decided to splash out on the CoQ10 recommendations on there! DH is getting my scummy CoQ10! 😜😂 Hopefully this gives us all healthy sticky BFPs! 🤞🏻

@Fredsmama So sorry to hear about your first son! Welcome to this fab group! 😘

@Kitekat81 indeed, this conception malarkey seems to be a dark art! 🤷🏻‍♀️ All my fingers crossed for you! 🤞🏻 Didn't realise that about pineapple juice - thanks! 😃

@Kayeyeem boo to AF! 🤞🏻 for your next cycle!

@thislittlebird sorry wish I could advise! Hopefully one of the others can help! 😘

I'm intrigued about these cups? Is there a specific brand/type you use?! 🤔

Happy Saturday eve ladies! Hope you're all having a good night! I went on a baking spree today so munching like a piggy! 😃

Hi @M4v3r1ck yes I've been doing my opk and bbt for the last few days and appear to have high results on the opk today so going to dtd we tend to do every other day most of the time as he doesn't produce a lot (we need to get an sa done I think!)

And the cup I have is called ferti-lily you can get it in boots or on Amazon, it's not cheap but lasts a fair while and has some excellent reviews. Some people just use a menstrual cup which I believe are cheaper but I wanted to go for the purpose made one to be sure I'm doing everything I can!

Realised I typed Friday 2nd and meant Friday 5th! But yeah, maybe middle of the two on Thursday is a good shout @Kitekat81. It’s so confusing because all the timings are set for standard 14/28 day patterns.

Hi Guys, bailed out there for a little while. I’ve spoken to the doctor about my results, nothing too concerning general health wise but obviously quite a lot fertility wise. I’ve been referred to Gynae and now just have to hope it doesn’t take too long (can’t they hear my clock ticking?!?).
Really glad your scan seems to have gone well @thislittlebird and loads of luck for a great appointment tomorrow for you (is it tomorrow?! 😅).
Really sorry to hear your sad news @Marvellouslymadmum. How are you feeling? Super shit thing to go through at the best of times, let alone with all the restrictions etc. Sending you a hug 🥰

AF finally turned up today - 13 days late thank you very much body! Not allowed to TTC till everything checked over so using the time to keep on focusing on healthy eating and exercise.
Any news on your cycle getting back to normal @M4v3r1ck?

@GuessHowMuch thank you, it's been rubbish but I've gone into overdrive mode in the hope I'm extra fertile (I've heard you can be after) and trying to do everything I can to help lol I'm also going to speak to the gp about tests too and see if we can get any done. Sorry your af turned up but at least with being referred they'll hopefully be able to give you some news and soon! 🤞🏻

Can I ask is the co-q 10 just a generic supplement? The co-enzyme 10? Wondering if I need this and extra vitamin d if I have been taking the wellwoman pre conception tablets? Although they seem to be sold out everywhere and I've just run out so might been to find something else tomorrow!

thislittlebird · 30/01/2021 21:16

Thanks @GuessHowMuch! It’s on Monday first thing, hoping it’s nothing terrible but your experience has taught me to go in a little cautiously I suppose. I’m a little concerned by the high number of eggs I have won’t bode well but we shall see.

On the plus side your health is good generally. Are they referring you to nhs gynae for further tests etc?

GuessHowMuch · 30/01/2021 22:00

@thislittlebird I thought today was Sunday - the days of the week literally mean nothing anymore 😂 Good luck for Monday. Yep - referral for extra tests and just to make sure everything is ok I think. Let us know how your appointment goes.

@Marvellouslymadmum yes that sounds about right, actually seems a reasonable price compared to some. You could start with 100mg and up to 200mg if no success or just go full throttle at 200mg from the start!

@M4v3r1ck I gave dp the old cheapy q10 as well... he doesn’t know any better 🤣

Is coq10 the same as Ubiquinol? Or is that another one? Though I believe the pregnacare conception supliments I'm taking have coq10 in them
