Thanks @eloiseislost it's tough cos I feel fine still no pain or bleeding. The hormones are still quite high so I've got pregnancy symptoms like boob pain, belly bloat and massive tiredness. I really don't want it to drag out but think it might 😞 concentrating at work this week has been hard!

@bigsweetpotato Is there any chance you can get signed off work? I spoke to my GP when my MC started and she immediately signed me off work for 2 weeks. For some people work can be a welcome distraction of course, but I just couldn't face going in the office or even showing up on virtual meetings and pretend like my world hadn't fallen apart.

Aw @bigsweetpotato I hope today brings more clarity for you, it must be agonising not knowing. Could you take some time off over the next few days?

You’re not bringing the thread down at all. This is all sadly part of the ttc/pregnancy world and it’s just as needed as our chats of ufos getting stuck and the inner workings of our pubic bones and the prominent cups they give us!

Sorry to hear things are dragging out like this for you @bigsweetpotato- it must be agonising. You’re definitely not dragging anything down! As others have said this thread isn’t about the highs and lows of TTC and we are all here for each other. Sending you love and I agree with what @eloiseislost said about perhaps seeing if GP can sign you off for next few weeks to allow you some time to just deal with this horrible news. Take care of yourself xxx

I agree it's not about dragging the thread down or not. I would feel far less comfy here if we weren't allowed to air all the heartbreaking shit along with the funny stuff. Sending you lots of love bigsweetpotato!

I think it LOOKS like it's brought the thread down because most of us are at points where we are either waiting to ovulate, have a bfp already, or are in the depths of tww trauma! So there isn't much to say 😊. I think it would naturally have gone a bit quiet anyway.

I do have something gross to bring to though if that'll make everyone feel better?

Does anyone or did anyone ever find that using a soft disc/cup Vs syringing made a difference to what I'm affectionately calling the "after flow"? To explain, I find after syringing only, the following few days I have more fluid come out when I wipe after seeing, this might just be my normal bodily fluids but it definitely has "that smell" to it 😳 😂 but when I use a cup or disc and take it out, it obviously retains a lot of the left over juice, and as a result I don't get any after flow the following days? I'm not sure what I think this means, if anything. Just thought it's give you all something a bit different to read and a view into what I think about over my morning cup of tea 😂 sorry in advance for anyone having a sneaky read during their lunch.

Nothing of note to update my end really other than I’ve booked in for an early scan on 21st when I’ll be 6 weeks 5 days and I’m just praying everything will look ok on it.
I’m 5w3d today and am a bit worried I don’t feel like I have any sickness- do still have sore boobs- right boob way sorer than left (so weird), am pretty tired by the afternoon and have really
Increased thirst. But so far no nausea. I think waiting for the early scan will feel like an eternity- but I’m going to try and keep as busy as lockdown allows!

😳 I'm not smelling everything that comes out of me deliberately FYI 😱 I can just smell it without trying. Like a sweet smell. 😂 it's fun isn't it, not having the power to immediately delete things you've said?

@Makingnumber2 from what I've gathered stalking pregnancy chats like some kind of desperate weirdo, people who worry about no nausea soon live to regret it as they get further along 😁 exciting that you've got a scan booked!

@MrsKin90 that has made me chuckle! I do know what you mean by the after flow- it’s interesting it doesn’t happen with a soft disc though...I guess the disc collects the after flow and you remove it all in one go?? Where are our bodies storing the after flow though when we don’t use a disc?? If it comes out bit by bit where is it lurking until it exits??
And yes you’re right I’m sure about the nausea. I had horrendous evening sickness from week 6 til week 28 with DD1. So I should Be grateful to be being spared a few weeks of that joy!

@MrsKin90 Yes, yes, yes, totally on the after-smell. 🤣 I think the soft disc collects everything from the cervix and then, as you take it out, the rim seems to scrape the sides and completely clean up in there!

@Makingnumber2 I agree with Kin, be careful what you wish for! 😆 My nausea has kicked in recently and the combination with the extreme fatigue has absolutely floored me. Every pregnancy is different so you don't need to worry about when or if symptoms appear. 🙂

My early scan is tomorrow morning, I pray they see something good in there. 🌈 🙏🏼

Sweet potato - please don’t feel like you are bringing the thread down at all. Like so many have said.. this is our honest and real journey of TTC, that includes everything. I hope you get some answers soon and your partner gives you the best possible valentines by pampering you I didn’t @ you as mindful that might be irritating or upsetting for you and you can read in your own time.

@MrsKin90 YES, you aren’t alone! I too have ‘smelt’ something unpleasant after using the ferti-lily and I have the nose of a blood hound 🙈😂.. I did use a BV gel last month as was worried i had some sort of infection but I only
Smell it after use and not ongoing.

@Makingnumber2 I hope the wait doesn’t feel like an age for your early scan!

In terms of update for me, I am 6 days DPO. I’ve also tested positive for covid and feeling quite poorly 😔. I only had the vaccine on the 30th! I’m scared to take paracetamol incase of implantation.

@Sydney1986x I'm so sorry you have covid, I wish you a quick recovery!
Paracetamol is absolutely fine for implantation and throughout pregnancy, it's antiflammatory painkillers like ibuprofen that are contraindicated. Please take some pain relief, being unwell will put a strain on your body and is way more likely to affect implantation than a pain killer. I hope you feel better soon. 💐

@Sydney1986x so sorry to hear you’ve got covid- that is horrible for you. Hope you can rest up and that you are feeling better really soon. As if the TWW wasn’t bad enough eh?!?

At least the smell for most of you is a combination of yourself and someone you (hopefully) love very much. I'm TTCing with a donor and so the SoftCup remnants are rank stranger semen. Pretty grim.

@bitheby I adore my husband but, believe you me, I detest the smell of semen, anyone's semen! 🤢
But, hey, it's all for a good cause! 😉
None of this will matter once we have our babies! 💞

@bitheby regardless of who it’s with I guarantee you it doesn’t make it smell of fairies, puppies and talc 😂
Despite my practice run with the disc I’ve just syringed the last two nights and laid up for ages so didn’t pop a disc in (I will when I’m ovulating) and a big fat YES to the seepage, where does all this jizz hide?!

And weirdly I can shower, go all day doing stuff then go for a 6pm walk and bam, the jizz flow starts and then I’m walking and pull this face 😳🥺 I should be pregnant by now with the amount of time it holidays up there 😅

Haha glad it isn't just me!! 😂 Maybe the cups do scrape the sides clean?! 🤣
I must say I actually don't mind the smell 😳 it's just an inoffensive sweet-ish smell. I wonder what that means?! 😬

@Sydney1986x sorry to hear you've got covid 🙁 take paracetamol as needed, drink plenty of water and lots of rest. Hopefully someone is there taking care of you!

@MrsKin90 yes I get some seepage when I stand up but the get a really delayed seepage 🤔 it’s deffo sperm as it has that very distinct smell. Not offensive but....unique. A base note of sourness 😅

Hmm yes perhaps a sour note 😂 well I'm glad I brought the tone of the thread right the way down to sperm smells! It's a unique gift everyone should aspire to 😆

Hi Ladies. It's a few weeks since I signed off Mumsnet and I just wanted to check in and see how you are and so much has happened.

Firstly @eloiseislost congratulations. So excited to see you've had a positive pregnancy test. I realise today you will be feeling nervous but have everything crossed for a good scan today.

@Makingnumber2 congrats to you too. I remember feeling desperate for symptoms too in the early weeks of my first pregnancy but it is still very early. I didn't get nausea until about week 8/9. Every pregnancy is different too so may be different to your first.

@bigsweetpotato I'm so sorry about your news. It is agonising waiting for answers. The situation with my miscarriage was different to yours but similar in terms of not having clear answers and having to wait for more tests/scans etc. It was an agonising time. I called the Miscarriage Association a few times and just talked to / cried at the midwives there. I found that helpful. They also have a FB site that I found useful at the time. Miscarriages are hard and I will always carry that loss with me but I have recovered over time. Sending you lots of love.

Oily and MrsKin your exchange about semen smell cracked me up reading this morning! You are like a pair of semen sommeliers with those detailed smelling notes 😂😂
