Oh my goodness to say we are a chatty group is an understatement most times but that’s great cos it’s not all about TTC here, anything goes, we now have a bus with a beautiful panoramic roof seat so a few ppl can pop up on top heads up and out into wind to gulp in the non TTC air but still hold on to us & know where we are...like our pups that come with us with ears flapping in the wind our beloved ladies may have one flap flying in the wind...”watch out for the left outer flap”...someone once shouted to their OH...that might set the tone here nicely.

Get it?! No?! Sometimes nor do we...🙄the chat, the deed, the sperm, the egg, the fact that we aren’t pregnant yet after shagging twelfty millions times a month forever. But we are here for each other, to chat shit, to help each other out the pits or wallow within the pits, for all the highs and lows.

@Minster2012 wow 6'6"! Yummy! Btw you can freeze left over wine as ice cubes for cooking with it when you feel like it rather than being "forced" to cook with it before it goes off.

@paintfairy tbf if you two have never explicitly spoken about IVF there's an element of communication that could be improved as well. He's silly for not reaching that conclusion himself but likewise it should perhaps have been mentioned after a year of trying and months of medical tests.

@lucyrp no worries I appreciate it 😊 DH keeps telling me not to worry but it feels better coming from someone else who's actually going through it iyswim. I'm going to chase the doctors for the midwife referral this morning. Considering booking a scan for next Friday, then I'll be 6 weeks 5 days so should be able to see at least something x

Yes absolutely @paintfairy and I think we process things in a very different way to men, but mostly they come round. Mines not very emotional in general so he found it hard, still does, hence me "running away" to a spa in October after our last time as he wasn't emotionally there for me and even last night we had a conversation where I said I NEEDED him to help me emotionally this time more & is it any wonder I find (you guys) such a help when he's emotionally distant cos all his emotions go on the business 🤔so I think it's quite a man thing. Not all, but a lot of them. I think @Juno231 has a point though & if it's the first real discussion then more talking is needed

@paintfairy the flip side to the boxers thing is that he only wears them through the day, he gets home changes into joggers in the evening (commando) then sleeps naked so 🤷🏻‍♀️
My ex was absolutely useless at any kind of diy or stereotypical "man" jobs! Used to drive me nuts and eventually ended up hiring a gardener to come bad cut the grass as I was sick of asking and snaking and it NEVER getting done! OH who is willing and good at these things is a total novelty 😂

I think with the IVF thing and men it's because there is a really toxic type of "banter" between men surrounding pregnancy, they make jokes about equipment "working" and "knew you had it in you" as if somehow getting someone pregnant makes you "manly". When I was pregnant with dd my ex's BiL's response to our news was "well thank feck you aren't a Jaffa" I didn't get it and when the whole seedless thing was explained I was disgusted. Women wouldn't dream of saying something like that to each other so why do men think it's ok?

@gem176 you lucky bugger with the midwife, just rung to chase mine, she's on holiday till Thursday apparently 😂 so I've booked the private scan for £69 28th Jan so not too long to wait now. Eeeee xx

@Kirky658 I was worried constantly until 8 weeks and then since I've had my scan I've managed to calm down and I keep telling myself until something tells me I'm not pregnant then I am pregnant 🙈

@Gem176 you can do ramzi or nub theory ramzi is where you look at which side the placenta is on on the scan which tells you if it's boy or girl but that's not greatly reliable and nub is to do with potty shots etc

@Kirky658 yep and my office is on the same floor as the mw office in the local hospital, I live in a small community where gossip is rife! So far I've had my SiL tell me one of her patients used to work with my dad and a woman who works in the coop chatted away as her husband is from the village I grew up in! We've been in lockdown the majority of the time I've lived here so I know no-one and havent bloody been anywhere but they all seem to know me 🤷🏻‍♀️

Oooh that's exciting 🤩 I can't get a private scan until 7 weeks and it's £150 and a 200 mile round trip 😭 BUT I should have my first diabetic/obstetric clinic the first week of feb and last time I had a scan there at my first appointment so 🤞🏻

@Minster2012 @Juno231 we've got friends having ivf privately. They went through initial investigations through the nhs but he's got a previous child, so not eligible for ivf. So it's not like he's clueless as to the path? I know he doesn't want to do ivf though as he's said before it seems extreme. Whilst I agree, I wasnt thinking that far ahead right now.
@Gem176 my DH sleeps naked too. And after a shower often just has joggers on. So maybe it's OK. 🤣

@Gem176 omg £150! I thought £80 was bad ! I found one for £45 in the end but that was an hour away. I didn't want to go down to cardiff what with Covid rates being high etc and that's 2 hours away from me

Speaking of tight underwear - don't forget about the laptops on laps! I got OH a laptop cooling pad back during first lockdown to avoid him cooking his swimmers!

Had really bad cramps last night but no bleeding yet so just a waiting game. Hope things are more promising for you @vil10, I'll have a proper read in a bit and catch up. @Justanothercyster I did see your post tjough about bloods and agree. I had 2 lots of bloods done and progesterone was fine in one and almost zero in the other.

@Minster2012 unless it's a 4 day cycle, fuck if I understand, I got this morning: nausea, sore big boobs, bloated and spotting, very little in a lot of watery cm...🤷

@lucyrp yeah, I was quite shocked when OH was looking and told me the price!! I didn't even look into it last time as I was a bit clueless back then and had scans at 6, 12, 20, 28, 32, 34, 36 & 38 weeks anyway.

@Gem176 me and OH had sex last night but was talking to the girls on the WhatsApp group about how I just couldn't get comfy 😂 we did doggy and I just couldn't tilt myself to make it comfy. The only way I can do it is if I'm on top or missionary. We've done it 1-2 times a week for the last 3-4 weeks I think. I think its not comfortable because even though you enjoy it in the back of your head your body is like nope don't hurt the baby so you tense up without realising 🙈

@Minster2012 my very good friend had secondary infertility and was going through ivf with her husband. She made no secret of wanting a 2nd and their wider friend group knew that. What most didn't know was that they were struggling and that ivf was their only option after a blocked/damaged Fallopian tube was diagnosed. She saw messages from his friends in a group chat making fun and asking if he couldn't get it up anymore etc etc he responded by saying in a less than kind way that the problem wasn't with him, full of bravado about his "manhood" etc. She was devastated and decided not to go ahead with the ivf 😢 it's such toxic masculinity and utter bullshit like that that almost destroyed one of the nicest people I know and her marriage!
