Hi all, so this is my 2nd TWW / symptom spotting thread ❤️

Ovulation day for me is today; 14th Jan.
wondered if anybody else is early in their TWW or fancies keeping me company throughout?

Would love to hear your symptoms / stories 🥰

@scandiontheloose tell me about it, and its dead quiet at work so I don't even have anything to keep me occupied. My google searches are getting worse and worse. Honestly I have spent the last 2 hours looking at pictures of positive pregnancy tests at 8DPO to convince myself its not to early to test LOL

@CookieMonster3001 omg I'm the same. Work is quiet so I have like 20 tabs open with line progression videos and reading about "sure signs you're pregnant" when I know there is none cos AF is cruel af 😂😂😂

Hi there I’m trying for my first baby too since November 2020, I had the contraceptive implant removed at the start of November and have been using the clear blue ovulation tests. This month my “peak” solid smiley was on the 11th January, my Ovia app says my period is due 27th January. I took a first response test today and it was negative, hoping I’m just testing too early but it’s so hard to wait. Love hearing everyone’s TTC journeys, it can be so lonely each month getting your hopes up for that positive test xx

@Dayseebubs welcome! I agree it's nicer when you have somewhere to talk about these things. Don't know about you, but we're keeping this TTC quiet from friends and family for now, so it's nice that there is a wee support group here to vent about the TTC journey.

According to Flo app AF is due 28/1 so looks like our cycles are quite close. My ovulation (estimated based on the app and CM tracking) was 14/1 so currently 6DPO and going a bit loopy with symptom spotting 😂

@scandiontheloose same here, we’re keeping it from friends and family because I just thought it would feel like too much pressure for people to know and be like “are you pregnant yet?!” And I already feel enough pressure from myself because I want to have a baby so bad now. It’s like now that we’ve made that decision to try and conceive I’m just so impatient and can’t wait for it to happen.
That’s amazing that our cycle is so similar! Do you like using the Flo app? Forgive me if this is a stupid question but what does AF stand for? I’m still getting used to all the terminology last month I went crazy symptom spotting like if I had an itch on my toe or something I’d think it was a sign lol and then I got my period so this month I’ve been trying to relax a bit more but it’s so hard like I can’t stop watching symptom videos on YouTube lol. One thing that’s different for me this month so far, sorry if this is TMI, but usually my boobs feel like swollen and so tender and my nipples get super sensitive like if they touch anything it’s so sore, which would usually happen by now for me during this stage of my cycle but my boobs feel no different at all yet, so I’m wondering if that’s maybe a sign? I’ve no idea I’m really grasping at straws lol! What symptoms have you had so far? Xx

@Dayseebubs @scandiontheloose hey both I’m pretty much identical to you both. AF due 27th and think I ovulated on CD14. I’ve had quite a bit of spotting today and feeling a bit crap/headache but trying not to get my hopes up as maybe it is just a coincidence even though it’s not normal for me.

When are you both planning to test for the first time? I assume you’ll use the Early tests first? I was planning on waiting until Saturday but not sure I can wait that long.

I also haven’t told anyone but would love to. Even just to hear about their experiences of ttc but appreciate that it’s definitely creates pressure. Dry jan is helping excuse the reason I’m not drinking atm too, although not being able to go out helps hide that ! I think if this month isn’t successful I’ll be downing a bottle of fizz though even though I was planning to avoid it. What are others doing on the alcohol front?

@Dayseebubs totally agree, I don't want the inlaws putting bets on yet etc, just want to go about it with our own speed.

The flo app is good, simple to use and once you are preggos you can keep using the same app so I like that. Most apps have a different app for when you're pregnant.

I haven't got sore boobs, the feel a bit heavy but not sore by any means. I sometimes get really sore boobs before AF so kinda taking this as a good sign.

Although I keep telling myself it's still early but symptom spotting is such a rabbit hole and you can just start to analyse every single sensation. I'm usually very exhausted after TWW and normally take a wee break of even logging anything to my Flo app cos I've probs had it open for 24/7 for the past two weeks and I just don't want to see it for a while 😂

Well I'm trying to wait until 12DPO but I know that won't happen so possibly this sat/sun 9/10DPO. How about you?

I’m 6 or 7 days DPO I think! Trying not to symptom spot but it’s so hard! This is our first time TTC so I’m not hoping for much! This 2 week wait really is driving me crazy though! Do people suggest just waiting for AF or shall I do one of those 6 days earlier tests? I’m so new to this. X

@Dayseebubs welcome!! Fingers crossed for you :) I am the same, we have decided not to tell anyone just yet so its nice to have people to talk to!! I keep getting stabbing pains in my boobs, which isn't normal for me but then again I am also probably clutching at straws! Trying really hard not to think of the symptoms I had with my last BFP (I sadly miscarried at 6ish weeks just after Christmas)

@scandiontheloose I ovulated on 14th too, but im 5DPO not 6. I don't think you count the day of ovulation as 1DPO. My AF is due 30th Jan so couple of days after you guys.

@ttcSam I tried the whole dry January thing (for all of 4 days), but then thought screw it as I wanna have had a drink before having to give it up for 9 months!!

I really don't want to test until next Tues/Weds, but in reality I will probably end up pissing all over sticks on Friday at 9DPO because I have zero willpower lol

@Lovelily94 welcome! I would recommend waiting as long as possible to rule out false negatives but tbh I am a notorious POAS'er.

Worst thing is, after the mc I didn't ovulate till CD18!! Normally I ovulate CD12, so I am already a whole week behind!!

@CookieMonster3001 thanks! Looks like we are on the same cycle I’m sure I ovulated on the 13th also. Will hold out as long as I can! Flo says I am due on the 28th so we will see, fingers crossed. X

@ttcSam welcome! that’s sounds like it could be implantation bleeding, fingers crossed for you! And as for taking tests I took a first response one today because I couldn’t wait but it was definitely negative, no matter how much I squinted to see a second line it definitely wasn’t there lol! But I’m staying hopeful and will test again in a few days time, maybe Sunday or Monday if I can wait that long. I’ve been drinking alcohol whilst trying to conceive, I don’t drink much by any means, me and my boyfriend usually share a bottle of red wine on the weekend. But as soon as I test positive I will stop straight away obviously.

@Lovelily94 @CookieMonster3001 Flo is telling me 13th/28th too... other apps are telling me 12th/26th so a day short as well, but I think I could be earlier 11th/26th... I think I might try to hold out to the 28th to test if no AF till then, as on my own cycle maths ignoring O I reckon 26th, so I'd no AF by 28th maybe... doesn't it drive you mad??

I’m so sorry you had a mc at 6 weeks just after Christmas what a horrible time for you, I can’t even imagine how difficult that is, hoping this is your month and your little rainbow baby is on its way you’re message about pissing on all the sticks made me proper laugh out loud cas I’m the exact same, zero willpower lol!

@Lovelily94 ahhh cycle twins. I ovulated on 13/1 and AF due 28/1. When are you thinking about testing? You waiting until you're late or are you crazy like me and probs gonna test too early 😂

Oh can I ask you guys what methods you’re using to track your ovulation?

@Dayseebubs just Flo app and CM logging (keeping track of cervical mucus changes throughout the cycle). Will consider getting ovulation tests if it's a BFN this cycle

Hey everyone - can I join? I had a good clear positive on a (cheapie) OPK yesterday so I think I'm probably ovulating today, CD15.

My partner and I tried for a couple of cycles last year, managed to get pregnant the first cycle but had a very very early miscarriage (I think I was just less than 6 weeks). We tried again the next cycle but it was a weird cycle anyway, and no joy. We decided to leave it for a few cycles and we're back to trying again! Have DTD a few times over the last couple of days so we'll see! Really really hate the waiting bit 😣

@trackiesandasmokeyeye I think that's a good idea, I would probably leave it to the latest date (28th) just to be on the safe side! Yep frustrating as heck!! Mine moved my ovulation about 3 times this month and each time it gave me an anxiety attack!

@Dayseebubs thank you lovely!! tbh keeping my mind focused on TTC was the only thing to get me through the mc. I have heard so many stories of people catching straight after so hoping that happens for me. I use OPKS and track my BBT. I don't really get an awful lot of fertile CM so have never really been able to use that as a method.
