@Crazydoglady123 no this is just the doc taking blood for the day 21 progesterone, Lh, oestrogen and fsh at the moment. Then I've no idea what happens after that! I know we won't get funding for ivf on the nhs anyway because of my age. We may be able to fund ourselves if we need to but I don't know what happens if I'll need anything else if I'm jot ovulating correctly or what have you. I do wish we had done this sooner but as we've only been together 5 years and didn't want to rush in it's been a later in decision. I'm hoping to get the doc to do oh sa soon too, excellent that your consultant isn't worried about your oh results

Crazydoglady123 · 17/02/2021 22:15

@Marvellouslymadmum yeah my consultant said I wasn't ovulating/ovulating as well as I could be hence going on Letrozole and Clomid. I've heard such good stories for Clomid. I have a thread on here with me and three other girls on Clomid and two of them got BFP on first cycle and the third is still in the TWW. Unfortunately hasn't worked for me which makes me think the male factor is more of a problem than the consultant thinks.

@notyetamumbuttrying GP's are generally useless unless you can find one with an interest in fertility. Has your OH done anything to try and increase it? Mine stopped going in our layzspa and his numbers increased (except form) but I can't help but wonder if they could have gone back down since as last month on the Clomid I released 5 eggs on ovulation and didn't get pregnant! That or I have duff eggs 🙄

@Crazydoglady123 I've heard a lot if good things about clomid too, I'm hoping they'll pop me on that if my levels aren't good, though I do worry that male factor may be an issue with us too as they haven't done an sa yet and oh was told years ago that his wasn't great but he managed two sons after that and mc with me! I've heard clomid can be given to men too though I'm not exactly sure what for and I've even been tempted to go down the route of getting clomid myself but I read online it may not be a god idea if you have low ovarian reserves and as I don't know what mine are yet I'm hesitant but if all else fails and I don't get any answers from the docs it may be a let's go for a last ditch attempt thing!

notyetamumbuttrying · 17/02/2021 22:30

@Crazydoglady123 very true! Yeah he stopped smoking, cut down on drinking, swapped wellman for proxeed plus, eating more fruit n veg, doing more exercise although not so much the past two months as work is so busy! Your eggs might be fine, could be his sperm again or a combination of both! 🤷🏾‍♀️
@CreativeThinkerTequilaDrinker they sound right. I haven't had my eggs checked which is why I've got another one to do. When's his repeat SA?

Crazydoglady123 · 17/02/2021 22:45

@CreativeThinkerTequilaDrinker have you had a Hycosy yet?

@Marvellouslymadmum have you had any tests to check your egg reserves? I'm pretty sure I've already had a AMH with my NHS consultant as I remember him saying I have more eggs than normal for my age but I've had lots of time with absent periods over the years so sounds like I've hung on to my eggs 🤣 never heard of men taking Clomid! Will have a read. If your egg reserve is good, Clomid may deffo be worth trying!

@notyetamumbuttrying is Proxeed better than wellman? This is the first time the OH has agreed to take tablets and I've put him on wellman and I keep telling him no hot baths! I'm also trying Co-enzyme Q10, Zinc & Vit B this month as read good for egg quality.

Do @notyetamumbuttrying @Marvellouslymadmum use preseed? I'm also trying that for the first time this month...hoping it'll help his swimmers stop swimming in circles and find my bloody eggs! 😂

Marvellouslymadmum · 17/02/2021 22:47

@notyetamumbuttrying the proxeed plus's better than the well man conception? Trying everything I can to help improve things over here lol

RobinRose · 17/02/2021 22:56

@Annny27 I have no idea, they will be sending a latter to my gp, I'm going to call them tomorrow to see if i will get one, hopefully explain things better. Not looking likely though.

@CreativeThinkerTequilaDrinker we haven't looked into it, I'm worried about how much it could cost too. If we did, I don't know if it would be on the cards for this year.

Yutes · 18/02/2021 06:43

So.... I think Af has arrived.

Had anyone that took norethistorone or equivalent progesterone tablet had a normal period? Or was it more like spotting? Not sure what to do

Narwhal88 · 18/02/2021 06:53

@Yutes I've taken norethisterone quite a few times over the years to delay my period when on holidays and it is a withdrawal bleed rather than a true period but it was always the same as a period, never just spotting.

Crazydoglady123 · 18/02/2021 07:09

Just had my first flashing smiley on my OPKs this morning on CD10. A year or so ago when I last used OPKs it was around CD19 so hopefully the Clomid from my last cycle is still helping 🙏

PeanutButterBrownies · 18/02/2021 07:33

Morning everyone! We got OHs SA results the other day and they are really good, better than normal on all counts. He is absolutely chuffed, while I'm slightly devastated because that means there's probably an issue with my mechanics which requires a lot more invasion and probably more difficult to treat. But we had a little celebration, which was nice! I'd just really like to know now what's going on, waiting and uncertainty are hard!

So we've been referred to a fertility clinic by my gp, said it will be 2-4 weeks until I hear from them which sounds pretty quick.

It's been really helpful to hear everyone's experiences and the tests you've had done (not sure whether to laugh or cry about the dildo cam :D) so thank you for sharing your stories.

Yutes · 18/02/2021 07:35

Thank you @Narwhal88 that really helped.

Hope everyone is doing ok today

crazycatlady1981 · 18/02/2021 08:19

@Narwhal88 that’s terrible about your acupuncturist!! So unprofessional! Definitely don’t go back to her! Mine wears a mask and visor and regularly hand sanitises throughout the session. Usually you get little tingly feelings/zaps when the needles are inserted! I always feel very relaxed once I’m lying down and it has definitely helped regulate my hormones as I’ve been going weekly since November and my last 3 cycles I’ve ovulated on day 14, which makes it much easier to plan dtd! I would try and find someone in a health clinic if you can.

notyetamumbuttrying · 18/02/2021 08:38

@Crazydoglady123 it's supposed to be yeah but anything's better than nothing so keep him on the wellman as proxceed is sachets. Yeah they're all good for egg quality! I used it a few times but we didn't like it. We don't need lube usually so it felt too artificial to us.
Yay to flashing smiley!! I'm ovulating today on cd11 but mine are always at this time.
@Marvellouslymadmum we were told to use proxceed so he swapped over. Have a look into both and see what you think.
@PeanutButterBrownies I'm glad the results were good and that your appointment won't be too long! Try to keep positive x

A quick question to all those who have had hyscosy as we all seem to be getting similar tests in different order! Am I right in thinking you cant gave it if on period? Not ovulated yet but based on my past cycle history I could be due on anytime from a week before to 3 days after.......itll be really annoying if I've isolated 2 weeks then cant have the bloody thing done......

Crazydoglady123 · 18/02/2021 10:12

@kerrym87 I had to call to book mine on day 1 of my cycle but it's done (if I remember right) between CD7-CD14 but I deffo wasn't on my period

Crazydoglady123 · 18/02/2021 10:15

@notyetamumbuttrying oh I'll look into those if this month isn't successful. Poor guy got pounced on this morn 🙈 How long do you have high fertility before your peak? I've totally forgotten how long it usually is using OPK it's been so long! It says on the instructions to test twice a day now. My cyst scan is CD16 so at least hopefully it'll confirm whether I've ovulated or not too.

Crazydoglady123 · 18/02/2021 10:16

@PeanutButterBrownies that's really good news! Have you had your 21day bloods checked? Are you ovulating?

kerrym87 · 18/02/2021 10:27

@Crazydoglady123 they don't have many slots and haven't given me a choice, if I didn't take this private one down on NHS behalf my hospital hasn't even got a date when they'll get use of gynae theatres back ......its so frustrating!

PeanutButterBrownies · 18/02/2021 10:30

@Crazydoglady123 thank you! Yeah I seem to be ovulating and all my hormones were fine, also had an ultrasound and transvaginal scan and that all came back normal too.

My 'high' fertility ranges from 2-6 days and it's different each month - I'm not sure whether that's normal? I always get impatient after 3 days like come onnnn peak!!

Crazydoglady123 · 18/02/2021 11:20

@kerrym87 mine was just done in a consultation room 👀 Can you speak to them and say you could possibly be due on?

@PeanutButterBrownies maybe try and push for a Hycosy when you get your referral? Thank you for that info! It's been aaaaaages since I tracked so I'm a little excited but like you say, give it a couple of days and if no peak I'll be getting annoyed 😂

kerrym87 · 18/02/2021 11:27

@Crazydoglady123 I cant get through so left a message cos I'm going to owe 12 hour shift for the isolation period and I'll be annoyed if its then not able to go ahead! Just wish I'd ovulate then I'd know for sure when AF would arrive but it takes it's time and get some false starts....

notyetamumbuttrying · 18/02/2021 11:35

@Crazydoglady123 bet he loved it! 😏
We did it yesterday and I told him we'd do it again Friday as I thought I'd ov tomorrow not today so not sure whether to try tonight or not. Also want to time it for his SA on Monday so it should be Friday so that it's 3 days abstinence.
