Thanks for the well wishes everyone. Not getting referred as have my referral in for gynaecologist on 17th March. Doctors have advised to test in a week, and any hint of a positive I'll need to come in for a procedure to remove anything that's left.
It's hit us hard this time due to having over a week of positive tests. Not in much pain thankfully and bleeding has stopped too. Going to spend a couple of days in bed I think. Lord knows when next period will start.
Thanks again everyone, means a lot.

notyetamumbuttrying · 17/02/2021 12:32

@Theawkwardblonde thanks for the update. I'm glad you're not physically suffering too much. A couple of days in bed sounds like just what the dr ordered. Take care xx ♥️

Period just arrived ladies so onto the next cycle 🤪🤪 I just counted and its my 15th cycle since my miscarriage, 21 months overall from when we started trying. I can hardly believe it sometimes!!!!

@notyetamumbuttrying yeah I will have to have a look at how much one cycle costs and then see whats the best option for us

@hayley19835 sorry lovely! We will be cycle buddies this month then!

@theawkwardblonde hopefully it resolves itself! I had a missed miscarriage at 12 weeks and my body wasn't letting go so had to have the surgery to resolve things

Annny27 · 17/02/2021 13:36

Good luck for your call @notyetamumbuttrying xx

notyetamumbuttrying · 17/02/2021 13:43

@Annny27 so sorry darlin, hope you're ok!
Thanks for the luck 🤗

@Theawkwardblonde I’m so sorry for your loss, take care of yourself and your DH, sending you both lots of love.

I was woken up by cramps in the night and was hugely emotional this morning, so I think I’m probably out this month although af isn’t due until Tuesday. I think she’s just taunting me!
On a positive note, we finally got a phone call from the fertility nurse who had only been given our names by Care Bath and was finding it difficult trying to contact us!! All being well, we should have an appt before Easter 🤞🏻

notyetamumbuttrying · 17/02/2021 17:06

@crazycatlady1981 good news! 👍🏾

How did your call go @notyetamumbuttrying ?

@crazycatlady1981 ahhh thats sucks that af feels to be on the way!

RobinRose · 17/02/2021 17:48

@Theawkwardblonde I'm so sorry 😞 look after yourself x

I've been taking some time away, having a realy stressful time at the moment due to a number of things. Started cramping today so af will arrive over the weekend. Had a call from the fertility clinic this morning, the consultant has declined our referal because dp had a vasectomy so that's a massive kick in the teeth. As far as we were aware it wasn't an issue, just wouldn't be able to have IVF. Gp said to wait till they have recived the letter from fertility to see what our next steps are. I honestly don't know what to do.

Hope you are all okay x

Narwhal88 · 17/02/2021 17:51

@Theawkwardblonde so sorry to hear that, it must be so devastating. Hope you get some answers soon.

@notyetamumbuttrying how did you get on?

Ladies I had my first acupuncture tonight. The needles were fine but I felt like it did nothing. I didn't really find it relaxing, no more so than laying on a warm bed will do anyway. The woman was really weird and I felt uncomfortable around her. She wouldn't wear a mask but I refused to take mine off, she kind of brushed covid off as if it's nothing and I was being ridiculous (she never said this but I got that impression). She talked really slow and it felt creepy 😂
It was in her house rather than somewhere professional, no way am I going back. Not sure if I will go to anyone else as there is no one else that specialises in fertility in my area. I'm disappointed as I really wanted to like it and feel like I was doing something to help. Maybe it's just not for me, my job is western medicine which I guess is the completely opposite anyway!

Annny27 · 17/02/2021 18:01

@RobinRose that's rubbish about the referral refusal :( sorry about that! Can you not get any tests then?

@narwhal88 we sound pretty similar as I worry i will have this reaction to it to haha! I am going to more of a clinic though that does a few things like physio etc so it will hopefully be a bit more professional. That sounds awful that she didn't wear a mask!! Totally risky and yeah I would also feel very uncomfortable with that!!!

Helena86 · 17/02/2021 18:16

Hi all, seems like you have a really supportive group here so joining in if that's ok.

I found out I was pregnant on 3rd Feb, we were over the moon as have been trying on and off (more on than off) for 2 years. I am 35 too so felt like time isn't on our side.

Valentine's Day I started bleeding and have been ever since. I am 99% sure it is an early MC but have just been for the first of two blood test to check levels. The Dr wouldn't send me for a scan as said it was too early.

Up and down with it all emotionally. As I pretty much know we have lost our little lentil I just want to focus on moving forward, which for us is trying again asap.

Just wondering if anyone has any tips, words of wisdom, positivity reserves that they'd be willing to throw my way - it would be massively appreciated.

Good luck to everyone else trying. I am hoping your good news stories will spur me on too ☺️🥰

@CreativeThinkerTequilaDrinker thank you for your kind words.

I think I am just about ok. I wasn't but reading everyone's stories makes you realise it isn't anything specific to me, it happens to soooo many people which helps with the 'why us' feeling.

Thank you for the podcast recommendation, I'll look into that. I feel very naive about the whole thing. I have focused for so long on the getting pregnant bit I assumed once we'd got there the rest would be easier. Ha, seems crazy even writing that now.

Looking forward to getting to know everyone ❣️

notyetamumbuttrying · 17/02/2021 19:42

@Annny27 @Narwhal88 gosh it took forever! Was meant to be a video call but she couldn't work it so called my mobile and was 30 mins late. 🙄 She asked all the questions that were on the questionnaire and in my drs notes but did say she'd sort out the funding so that's good. 6 months to be approved and then 1-2 months to start once approval in so not as bad as what that lady told me but still a way off. I think we'll go private still as I'd like my afc scan sooner rather than later. As long as we don't go over two rounds we'll still get our nhs funding so that'll be our back up should private not work.
@Narwhal88 eek sorry acupuncture didn't go well, I've never had it but have been tempted. Will def wait until clinics are open again n go in based off your in house experience.
@Helena86 welcome! I really hope it's not a miscarriage. So annoying they won't scan yet. No words of wisdom at mo but stick with us and hopefully you'll see comforting words overtime ♥️ I'm 35 next month and we're 17 months ttc now and Dh has male factor so it's been a real blow!
@CreativeThinkerTequilaDrinker wow nice to hear of a good nhs experience. Wish we were with kings rather than guys. So I take it you've not had SA results bk yet then and you're making an educated guess? My bmi is 29 too! She was like "don't put on anymore weight" I was like yeah obvs 😂
@Helena86 another podcast recommendation is BFN.

Crazydoglady123 · 17/02/2021 20:34

@Narwhal88 that sounds really unprofessional! My acupuncturist is in a clinic. She's lovely and seems really knowledgable about fertility but I'm not sure I'd say I come out feeling any different. I'm new back to it though, my first session after no periods for months after stopping my depo worked and my period came 2-3 weeks after. Last week was my first session again in 2 years and back again on Friday so will let you know if it gets more "relaxing" with time! Can you not find someone else local to you? I really wanted to try reflexology but everywhere closed near me to due to Covid.

Sorry to hear that @Helena86. Not sure what I can suggest.

@CreativeThinkerTequilaDrinker how far into your TTC journey are you? Lockdown life is all about food so don't put too much pressure on yourself. My hospital I got referred to for infertility is an hours drive from me! I have two local hospitals too. Even the fertility nurses just refer to me by my area as even they're baffled how far I've been sent.

@notyetamumbuttrying that's so good you can start off private and switch back to NHS if it's unsuccessful! Can I ask what your OH MF is?

Marvellouslymadmum · 17/02/2021 20:39

@Helena86 it's such a hard thing to go through, I've been through it myself twice, I'm almost 42 so starting to lose a little hope here but I'm on a thread with a lot of other really supportive ladies who have also been through it and are ttc again, in fact there have been quite a few bfp in there just this month! I hope you find out what's happening soon so you can move on either way, hugs for you

@CreativeThinkerTequilaDrinker sounds like you had a great positive experience today, glad to hear it!

@notyetamumbuttrying positive news for you too, glad to hear everything's on track

@Crazydoglady123 low count, motility and morphology. We'll see after the repeat SA to see if lifestyle changes has improved it.
@Marvellouslymadmum thank you 😊 how's things with you at mo?
@CreativeThinkerTequilaDrinker yeah exactly that. I really want egg collection to happen next month as well as I'd only have been 35 for a few weeks if my dates go as I think 😂 and I'm panicked about that monumental age even tho it's not old at all, but when it comes to fertility it's all you ever here! 😩
Have had my dlido cam scan before and all good apart from a small fibroid nowhere to cause concerns over. Amh is on Monday (hopefully) I say hopefully as the appointment is in my husbands name but I was told it was for both of us...(his repeat SA) and I just don't trust this hospital yet so we'll see..oh yes I defo will, thank you!! I have an afc scan booked with private to do the egg count as nhs don't do that until after funding is improved 🙄 Was all ok with your scan? X

Narwhal88 · 17/02/2021 21:39

@CreativeThinkerTequilaDrinker @Crazydoglady123 sounds like you have great acupuncturists, I did really want to like it so I think it's just the person. I will try and see if I can find another one but when I looked there weren't many in the area and the others didn't specialise in fertility. I did look at reflexology as well so will have another look. It is difficult trying to fit in all the appointments around work as well when I have the IVF appointments too!

@notyetamumbuttrying great that the funding is being sorted and the wait isn't as long, but totally get why you are going private. I get 2 NHS cycles and if I went private I would lose 1 of my NHS rounds or both if I had 2 private rounds first. It's weird as no one has ever told me I had funding approved. They just referred me to the private clinic and I got booked in 2 days later. I assume it must have just been approved very quickly. I also had my afc scan before the referral for ivf. Strange how they all do things differently. If your AMH is ok then your afc probably will be too.

Marvellouslymadmum · 17/02/2021 21:39

@notyetamumbuttrying I'm ok, apart from a heavier af than usual not sure why, no idea if the supliments can do that or it's just coincidence but looking forward to the next few weeks, dp 40th in a week, then my first lot of tests on 9th March and dreading the fact that I'll be 42 at the end of March so of course all my eggs will shrivel and fall out of my body at my grand old age 😂

It's so interesting reading about all the tests and things you guys are having - really helps with knowing what to expect next! Thank you for sharing your experiences

Crazydoglady123 · 17/02/2021 21:55

@Marvellouslymadmum is that tests for IVF on 9th?

@notyetamumbuttrying my OH was like that on his first sample. Second sample was a lot better but normal forms were still low at 2% (been classed as a degree of Teratozoospermia) but my fertility consult isn't worried about his results but it'll be interesting to see what the IVF consultant says.

@Narwhal88 yeah definitely try and find somewhere else. I was surprised how rated acupuncture is for fertility

notyetamumbuttrying · 17/02/2021 22:04

@Narwhal88 that's interesting. It is odd how they do things differently in different areas. Good to know though.

@Marvellouslymadmum oh bless you babe! 😂 They do make you feel about 100 when you're a woman over 35 ttc! You'll be starting tests the same time I'm getting my eggs counted and ball rolling with private!

@Crazydoglady123 the gp was totally nonplussed by his results, they had no clue really! The urologist didn't seem to fazed either so it'll be really interesting to see what anyone in fertility says. I basically had to beg to be referred, I was like do you see these low numbers...they're not normal, trying naturally won't work. Be interesting to see if they've improved tho. Might halt us going private.
