@notyetamumbuttrying ah that sucks massively!! I know how you feel as all our appointments were cancelled in wave 1. If it helps then patient numbers have come down a lot in hospital over the last few weeks, we are planning to start opening up again in March for non urgent care. Obviously not sure how long you would have to wait though so probably better to just go private if you really want to get going. AMH test is only about £80 private, I think SA is a bit more though.

notyetamumbuttrying · 12/02/2021 08:07

@Narwhal88 thank you. Yeah I'm going to go private for the lot if they cancel it. I can't wait around anymore. Just tried to get through but no answer! 😖
@Tofu35 fingers crossed for a decent improvement then!!

Tofu35 · 12/02/2021 09:14

@notyetamumbuttrying argh so sorry to hear about this. We had to go private for a few tests, but after we got our first NHS clinic appt, so we knew these private results would 'speed up' any future NHS tests etc. I would presume it would be the same for you, but worth checking out (sorry if you've done this check already and I missed the message!).

notyetamumbuttrying · 12/02/2021 09:17

So turns out it wasn't to cancel the 22nd appointment and it's an extra appointment just for me?! It's a virtual one next Wednesday at 3pm...how very odd!!

@notyetamumbuttrying aww lovely! Quick, go buy a lottery ticket- it's your lucky day!

notyetamumbuttrying · 12/02/2021 09:36

Wee update: husband got his SA results back and all levels have improved and above the recommended level. Changes in diet, exercise and some new vitamins (that he never mentioned he was taking until today!) all having the desired effect!

Annny27 · 12/02/2021 10:52

@notyetamumbuttrying that's awesome!! I have a virtual appointment on Monday probs to discuss next steps. Period is on the way fml I cant handle this anymore 😭😭

@tofu35 oh thats promissing :D my hubbies showed the same after a few changes 🥳🥳

notyetamumbuttrying · 12/02/2021 11:08

@Tofu35 wow that's amazing!! So what's next steps then?
@Annny27 aw honey it's utter shit isn't it but focus on these appointments! I'm cd5 thank god. Hubby's bday tomorrow so could do with not being on 😂
So excited to see my dhs SA, I bloody hope it's improved! Even if not above average, but an improvement somewhere. He'll be so devo if not! He's done really well taking his supplements and upping fruit n veg, lessening booze and stopping smoking, but not so great with the exercise. We're going on long walks today and tomorrow though. He just works such long hours that he's too knackered for exercise.

PeanutButterBrownies · 12/02/2021 12:17

Great news for both of you @notyetamumbuttrying @Tofu35! Hope you're feeling better.

We're well into FW and very much taking the "every 2 or 3 days" research on board and studiously ignoring the 'twice a day' claims. Expecting to get OH's first SA results on Tuesday so crossing our fingers. Fingers crossed for you too @notyetamumbuttrying

notyetamumbuttrying · 12/02/2021 12:38

@CreativeThinkerTequilaDrinker thank you, me too 😂 when you due on then? We struggle to do it more than twice in a row let alone twice in a day! It didn't work for us the time we managed it anyway. This was bk in the days of not knowing we had male factor.
@PeanutButterBrownies thank you ☺️ ooh best of luck for Tuesday!
We'll be in FW on Monday if my ov stays as cd12 but will no doubt do it tomorrow or sun seeing as it's dhs bday tomorrow and valentines sun. Got a sexy number to slip into 🤭
Anyone got any V day plans?! 😍

OP posts:
Tofu35 · 12/02/2021 12:52

@peanutbutterbrownies thanks, it's super cramp day today- one of those ones where painkillers don't really touch the sides of it. So I'm strapping a hot water bottle to me and telling my husband to not cross me today 😅

@notyetamumbuttrying a couple's meeting with fertility clinic next month to go through our results and chat next steps. Unsure if it's more tests for me, or if they think we should get refered to IVF? Its a lot of unknowns, but appointment is early next month so not too long to wait!

Valentine's plans- we bought nice steaks and a bottle of wine, so a nice night in :)

notyetamumbuttrying · 12/02/2021 13:09

@Tofu35 aw bless you! Good move with the hot water bottle!
Yeah not long to wait at all, best of luck with it all!
Ooh steaks and wine sound fab! Enjoy 😊

Very sorry to hear about the awful AF @tofu35 but pleased about the SA

I can relate @Anny27 sorry to hear this

I'm glad appointment is going ahead @notyetamumbuttrying

I was wondering if you ladies test OPKs? So I've generally used one step and they've been really hot and miss. I test twice a day. So last month I got positive on day 19 & 20 but I'm on day 28 of thos cycle (so AF is due) been testing twice a day and absolutely nothing! Not even a faint line! I don't have PCOS or any abnormalities detected

Motherofkittens28 · 12/02/2021 16:40

Hi all, baseline scan went ok today and I'm starting the stims tomorrow. I'm quite upset because currently they can on see 5 follicles, although apparently that could still increase. Nothing i can do about it though!

Crazydoglady123 · 12/02/2021 16:43

@MIW01 I went through a stage of using OPK kits and always got a peak but never fell pregnant. Since being referred to an infertility clinic my consultant did blood tests and found I wasn't ovulating/ovulating as well as I should be so I've been on Letrozole and now Clomid. The Letrozole didn't work for me, my PG still was low on my 21 day bloods but the Clomid is over responded too and ovulated 5 eggs! Unfortunately I didn't get pregnant to any one of those but it was successful in making me ovulate. I'm not allowed to take my Clomid this cycle until I've had my scan but I've brought more OPK's to try this month.

Crazydoglady123 · 12/02/2021 16:44

@Motherofkittens28 fingers crossed for some viable embryos for you 🤞 My AFC and AMH tests are booked for 9th March so hoping my first cycle will be April

Tofu35 · 12/02/2021 17:24

Huge hugs and good luck @motherofkittens28.

notyetamumbuttrying · 12/02/2021 18:12

@MIW01 thank you! I use clearblue advanced opk's so it's always pretty clear. Could you buy a pack of those so that you know one way or the other?!
@CreativeThinkerTequilaDrinker tww coming up for you soon then. I'm cd5 and thrilled to be period free tomorrow 🥳
We usually stop on ov day, once or twice we've done it day after ov, but certainly not every time. I figure once the egg is gone, why bother anymore 🤷🏾‍♀️ lol I know for certain my poor dhs sperm have no clue where they're going! I bet they go backwards or in circles 🥴
@Motherofkittens28 what's a good number look like? Pleased scan went well tho and there's still time for them to increase! 🤞🏾
@Crazydoglady123 ooh similar timings to me! AFC scan is booked for 8th March and getting amh tested on the 22nd feb. Private consultation is 10th March and period around then is due 30th March so hoping to start then! Be great to go through it with someone as the same time!!

OP posts:
Crazydoglady123 · 12/02/2021 18:41

@notyetamumbuttrying just saw too we're similar in our cycles too, I'm CD4! My private consultation after the AFC and AMH is on the 16th March so hoping we can start on my April cycle (I keep pushing for a cancellation too so I can get seen earlier 🤣). Be great to keep in contact how you're getting on!

notyetamumbuttrying · 12/02/2021 18:47

@Crazydoglady123 ooh we're in sync everywhere, love it! Let's defo keep each other posted then 😊

OP posts:
Crazydoglady123 · 12/02/2021 18:57

@notyetamumbuttrying I'm giving these last couple of months of natural our absolute all. I've just had delivered some Myo inositol, Clear blue connected OPKs, some preseed, vit b, omega 3, pomegranate juice, Brazil nuts and some wellman for the OH 🙌 I've got acupuncture booked for tomorrow too. I had I when I first come off my depo as my periods took months to come back but tbf I came on a couple of weeks after so I believe it works and my IVF clinic recommends it so going to try it again. I've got a scan in a couple of weeks with my NHS consultant to check on my cysts so be interested to see if I ovulate this cycle (not aloud to take my Clomid this cycle)

Narwhal88 · 12/02/2021 20:24

@Motherofkittens28 remember it's quality not quantity and 5 could still be 5 embabies! I get the disappointment though, hopefully it does increase 🤞🏼

@notyetamumbuttrying amazing news it wasn't cancelled!! I wonder what the extra appointment is though?!

I'm not sure if I have had an AFC? No one has mentioned one but when consultant went through results of the scan she said there was 9 follicles on one side and 10 I think on the other so is that AFC??

@Crazydoglady123 I have acupuncture booked for Wednesday, never tried it before. The lady specialises in fertility and IVF. Want to give everything a go for this first IVF cycle.
