So here we are at CD40. The specialist said to do a pregnancy test and start norethistorone when it’s negative. I was feeling hopeful this cycle, I was thinking of holding off and seeing if I have a period on my own, or whether just to get a new cycle underway.
There are babies everywhere just now, and I just feel a bit down.

Baby dust to all.

Thanks @Crazydoglady123 Smile

Dogmum13 · 31/01/2021 11:45

@Theawkwardblonde how often were you told to dtd? Cranberry juice helps and plenty of water

Pr24 · 31/01/2021 12:27

Hello everyone! We've been ttc second baby for 12 months now and nothings happened. I'm wondering if someone could tell me what sort of things the gp does first after an appointment with them. I'm going to phone for an appointment tomorrow x

Theawkwardblonde · 31/01/2021 15:02

@kerrym87 thanks-I've not considered insemination as don't know of DH would like that. This is the first one in years but seems weird it's set in after changing DTD. Very annoying!

@CreativeThinkerTequilaDrinker we were told this month to try every other day, then DTD 4 nights in a row at peak ovulation so quite similar to SMEP. Don't tend to do it that much due to shifts so I think that's broken me.

@Dogmum13 yes got some cranberry juice. Feeling sorry for myself as I'm not one who normally gets these, the only other time I've had this was 9 years ago. Running quite a temp too and have a bad tummy which is all standard of an infection.

Will not be DTD as much next month 😂

@Yutes sending hugs your way.

Just speak to your gp and they will let you know the next steps. They will probably take history - if you menstruate regularly, if you have any children or had pregnancies already, weight and height to establish BMI, smoking and they may organise bloods. HTH @Pr24
crazycatlady1981 · 31/01/2021 18:33

@galatea098 wow! Congrats! That’s amazing! So nice to have a BFP in this group, it’s gives us all hope! 🙂

@notyetamumbuttrying that’s some crazy long wait times! My DH has also said let’s just go private if it’s that long, we’re not getting any younger! I think if we had decided to go private before Xmas, we would have been starting by now. But they told us NHS funding wouldn’t take that long at all. Currently waiting to hear from the fertility nurse at the satellite clinic for an appt about funding and having a few final tests, but lord knows how long it will take for that to happen!

@Motherofkittens28 well done for doing your first injection! Hope it gets easier as you get used to it! Is it just one injection a day or more than that?

@Crazydoglady123 welcome fellow crazy animal lover! 😬 Wow, you’ve really been through it the last few months! Hope you are doing ok and haven’t got a litter on the way this month! 🙂

crazycatlady1981 · 31/01/2021 18:38

@Theawkwardblonde I’ve found nettle tea helps when I’ve had cystitis before and just drinking lots and lots of water too!

Dogmum13 · 31/01/2021 18:39

@Theawkwardblonde that's interesting as we dtd 4 days in a row ending on ovulation day 😬 I also haven't had my usual post peak boob pain this cycle

Motherofkittens28 · 31/01/2021 19:25

@crazycatlady1981 thanks 😊 Its just one a say until around the 12th and then two a day after that. Its fine actually, barely feel it but the liquid itself stings a bit. You do it straight into your fat so not many nerve endings there!

notyetamumbuttrying · 31/01/2021 19:35

@Motherofkittens28 ooh interesting that the liquid stings! Won't be looking forward to that. I have plenty of fat on me so hopefully I'll be fine lol! Well done doing your first one 😘
@crazycatlady1981 I first rang a private clinic in September, wish we'd just gone ahead with it as we defo would have started by now, I could've even be pregnant by now, but that's hindsight for you eh! Whereabouts are you based?

crazycatlady1981 · 31/01/2021 21:28

@notyetamumbuttrying we’re in southwest so planning to use Care Fertility Bath for Collection & transfer and a satellite clinic nearer to us for all the bits prior to that.

notyetamumbuttrying · 31/01/2021 22:34

@crazycatlady1981 we're planning Care London! Apparently they have an announcement tomorrow...a lady I chat to posted this!

TTC 12 months and longer!

PeanutButterBrownies · 01/02/2021 08:16

Morning everyone Smile hope it's okay to join in. I came on these forums months ago in the early days of TTC and just got incredibly stressed out by them, with a massive list of things I had to do to optimise our chances and constantly worrying about everything. And clearly none of it worked anyway! This thread seems really supportive, and much more gently informative - and amusing at times Grin. Congrats on the BFP!

I'm approaching 29 and TTC#1 for 17 months. We've only recently seen our GPs, I've had my blood tests and ultrasound come back normal so just waiting on DPs SA now. CD#3 so it's been a weekend of wallowing and chocolate for me but ready for a new month now!

Tofu35 · 01/02/2021 08:59

Welcome @peanutbutterbrownies! That's great your test results came back ok, does DP have a date for his SA test? Or is it a waiting game?

Thanks everyone for the Rhod Gilbert male factor documentary recommendation, we watched it on BBC last night, and it was good to see DH nod along, especially when he has a similar count to Rhod!
He did try and devil's advocate and say "it's probably something that'll be solved if she can get treated" which was a good opportunity to remind him that both of them had an issue and currently he feels like he isn't getting enough advice/support.

crazycatlady1981 · 01/02/2021 09:16

@notyetamumbuttrying ooh that’s interesting! I will look out for their announcement today!

@PeanutButterBrownies welcome! Great to hear you are getting tests done and glad they have come back ok so far!

@Tofu35 haven’t managed to watch Rhod Gilbert yet. I suggested it to DH and he wasn’t overly keen so I might just have to watch it on my own!

Tofu35 · 01/02/2021 09:23

@crazycatlady1981 mine was the same, but it's not a grim face sad documentary, it's definitely clear rhod is a stand-up comedian 😂 I think dh glad he watched it- was the first time he's heard someone actually talking about things he's going through (not helped by fact he doesn't talk to any friends about it- something covered in documentary!)

PeanutButterBrownies · 01/02/2021 09:29

@crazycatlady1981 @Tofu35 thank you! DP had a bit of a carry on getting the SA appt but has one tomorrow! He has a variceole but his gp said it was small and doesn't want to treat it unless the SA comes back low.

This Rhod Gilbert doc sounds great! Definitely nervous to suggest it to DP incase it sounds like I expect his results to be low haha. But I might have a cheeky peek one evening Smile

Dogmum13 · 01/02/2021 12:00

Does anyone else get waves of nausea in the second week of the ttw?

notyetamumbuttrying · 01/02/2021 12:28

@crazycatlady1981 the announcement was about new funding packages so that's good! We're looking into the unlimited or refund ones. Will decide once we've had the consultation and know a bit more. Got one booked in for the 10th March as they needed all tests done in order to get it. So figured I may as well get my free nhs one in and take those results with me to CARE.

@Dogmum13 yeah I do! It's your progesterone rising. Can cause nausea, fatigue, irritability, acne, mood swings etc etc. All the pms symptoms basically.

@PeanutButterBrownies welcome! We're month 17 now too, but older than you at 34, and Dh is 37 (for two more weeks lol). Glad everything's normal for you! Same with us, it's Dh that is sub fertile so ivf with icsi is our route now! We're a good bunch so you'll like it here ☺️

@Tofu35 we missed it so will watch tonight! Another good one is me, my brother and our balls. It's Chris Hughes from love island but don't let that put you off 😂it was very good! IPlayer.

Happy Monday all and Happy birthday to me, I turned 39 today. Definitely thought I would be a mum before I got to this age but here is hoping it comes to pass before the big 40 next year!
@CreativeThinkerTequilaDrinker I suffer with anxiety, have for years, but lockdown and working from home have definitely made it worse for me. Add ttc to the mix and I think its perfectly reasonable for anyone to be suffering from some anxiety right about now! Be kind to yourself.

Dogmum13 · 01/02/2021 13:16

@notyetamumbuttrying I get it every cycle but usually worse it the earlier part of the 2nd week rather than closer to af. Maybe just my body adjusting to the rise or something. I'm only 8dpo today and feel like I'm hung over lol

thislittlebird · 01/02/2021 13:19

I just put my head into this and saw the care post @notyetamumbuttrying. Thanks for sharing, I’ll look out for it.
