@galatea098 amazing news! 🥳

@Motherofkittens28 well done on the first injection! I'm hoping I can start soon too but I'm on short protocol 🤞🏼

@Annny27 I've had a couple of those dreams and it's awful when you wake up and it isn't true.

@notyetamumbuttrying oh wow those wait times are crazy! At least you know and can go private straight away. It's so unfair how things vary so much, bloody postcode lottery ☹️

I'm now in FW and can't be arsed lol. We will do it anyway though as 'what if'.
I have to take my home blood test Monday morning to see if my thyroid levels have gone down to under 2.5, fingers crossed!
I am really hoping we can start on my March period as I have 2 weeks annual leave planned for when stims, egg collection and transfer would be. This is purely a coincidence but if we end up having to start in April it would mean having more time off when I've already had 2 weeks! Can't delay those 2 weeks as need to use them by end of March!

Theawkwardblonde · 30/01/2021 14:57

@galatea098 that's fab news! Congratulations!

@Annny27 aww those dreams suck. I find I ten to get them when stressed. Such a disappointment when you wake up and it's not real.

Actually had my NHS referral letter through-being seen in 6 weeks which is a lot quicker than expected! Hopefully it won't be too long before I can get internal investigations underway 🤞🏻🤞🏻

Congratulations @galatea098 it's so nice to see a positive on this group 😊.

@notyetamumbuttrying sorry to hear the wait times are so long. Are you able to go through the process privately whilst still going through the NHS so that if the first cycle wasn't successful then you could use the NHS for the second round? I'm not really sure how pricing works if you already have embryos etc but it would seem harsh to say if someone had a private cycle which was unsuccessful whilst waiting that they couldn't then have the NHS one. Although wouldn't surprise me!

notyetamumbuttrying · 30/01/2021 17:11

@Motherofkittens28 mad aren't they! I'm 35 in March and we wanted two bk when we started this shit journey! So no way am I waiting up to a year to even start!! Good to know private clinics have far better timelines! Remind me have you had egg collection yet?
@Narwhal88 nuts aren't they!!
Ooh Monday's not far to wait. Try not to do too many what ifs until you know what's what! If they go down can u start on March period then?
@Theawkwardblonde glad things are moving for you 😘
@CreativeThinkerTequilaDrinker yeah we'll wait n see what they say to us before doing anything other than the initial consultation with the private clinic. Hear it from the horse's mouth n all that! When do u think you'll make a call on it?
@Hannah154 thanks, no if we go private we forfeit our funded round! Harsh isn't it but that's the rules unfortunately! How ru?

Is private quite quick does anyone know? Or does that have a waiting list too? We wouldn't be eligible for NHS treatment and after my reaction to Clomid and how unmonitored I've been on NHS we have been looking today down the private route.

notyetamumbuttrying · 30/01/2021 17:52

@Crazydoglady123 I think it is yeah. They're not stretched like the nhs and you're paying for a service so they have to deliver a good one to get repeat business etc. @Motherofkittens28 can tell you more though x

OP posts:
notyetamumbuttrying · 30/01/2021 17:53

@Hannah154 although thinking about it, how would they know unless we tell them?🤔

OP posts:
Motherofkittens28 · 30/01/2021 18:09

@Crazydoglady123 it was quick for me, I phoned and could have had an appointment the next week.

@notyetamumbuttrying, no that won't be until around 26th Feb, its a long process

Crazydoglady123 · 30/01/2021 18:13

Thank you @Motherofkittens28 and @notyetamumbuttrying. A local one to me (also where DH had to do his SA at via NHS) has a webinar open evening on the 8th Feb I think we're going to sign up and find out more. By then I won't be that long off seeing my NHS consultant and will see what he thinks.

notyetamumbuttrying · 30/01/2021 18:26

@Motherofkittens28 ah yes, you did say it was long protocol for you. So transfer will be the March then. That's not too far away at all! 🙂
@Crazydoglady123 good idea! 👍🏾 let us know how it goes ☺️

Just wondering, we have been trying for well over a year and are 41 & 39 but due to both having children from previous relationships we assumed we would not get any assistance on the nhs, do any of you know if we can at least get some tests done or are we completely on our own?

notyetamumbuttrying · 30/01/2021 19:24

@Marvellouslymadmum I believe you won't get anything on the nhs for fertility but if you go with a period complaint because you suspect pcos or endo etc then they can treat you for that. It'll be hard pushed to get a SA though I reckon!

OP posts:
Crazydoglady123 · 30/01/2021 19:29

@Marvellouslymadmum I have a child who I got pregnant with fine and now trying with my partner (different dad) and all my treatment has been on NHS so far. Although even though he doesn't have any children we can't get IVF on NHS.

Crazydoglady123 · 30/01/2021 19:29

@notyetamumbuttrying thanks lovely

Marvellouslymadmum · 30/01/2021 19:57

Thank you @notyetamumbuttrying @Crazydoglady123 it may just depends where you are in the country then, I'll speak to the go and see what they say!

Marvellouslymadmum · 30/01/2021 19:57

Gp even

notyetamumbuttrying · 30/01/2021 20:00

@Marvellouslymadmum I'd listen to @Crazydoglady123 over me 😂 as mine was just guesses and she's been through it. Sounds like you can get help then! Excellent news 😊

OP posts:
Crazydoglady123 · 30/01/2021 20:13

@Marvellouslymadmum yeah definitely as. So far I've had a hycosy, blood tests, Letrozole and clomid treatment on NHS.

Marvellouslymadmum · 30/01/2021 20:18

Excellent thank you @Crazydoglady123 @notyetamumbuttrying I'll DEFINITELY speak to the gp next week then! I know we won't get help with ivf or anything but at least if we can have some tests done we will know what's occurring abs if there's anyway to improve things then we can look at our options and costs from there

notyetamumbuttrying · 30/01/2021 22:39

@Marvellouslymadmum yeah defo, makes perfect sense! Hope all goes well for you both ♥️

Marvellouslymadmum · 30/01/2021 22:57

@notyetamumbuttrying thank you ☺️ I'll let you all know if I get anywhere

Theawkwardblonde · 31/01/2021 00:35

Okay so most likely a TMI question so apologies ladies.
I've unfortunately got a water infection which has put a stop to our DTD 🤦🏼‍♀️ only ever had one in my life. We've made an active choice to DTD loads this fertile week (shifts permitting).
Does anyone else suffer from UTIs from frequent DTD?
I know for a fact it's from that due to the frequency we DTD this week (fingers crossed ey 😂). I was told by my consultant we weren't DTD enough but now I'm concerned if this is going to be a side effect from increasing frequency?!
Sorry again for tmi, I do go to loo etc after DTD bit I've now got a bit ptsd due to this bloody infection. Definitely in the FML stage currently 🤦🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️🤣🤣 any advice appreciated, if not, I'll regret posting and hide in a hold of embarrassment 🤦🏼‍♀️😳

kerrym87 · 31/01/2021 08:59

@Theawkwardblonde I don't get UTI's but due to shifts, IBS, pelvic pain and ME we use insemination in between so you could always alternate to reduce frequency of dtd but not delivering the goods? The other thing is if you're getting more might not be related to dtd may be something else going in like your bladder not emptying properly x
