@CreativeThinkerTequilaDrinker I'm not sure we have effectively been discharged from NHS treatment now but the consultant we see is who we would see private so she has kindly offered to speak to us again through NHS via phone on 9th of March so just a waiting game until then. They have said IVF with ICSI but I'm not sure how that works with low AMH so we have a lot of questions to ask her now when she does call xx

kerrym87 · 22/01/2021 19:57

@Dogmum13 I have pelvic pain pretty much 3-4weeks out of a 5-6 week cycle, get twinges on and off worse from ovulation onwards, painful sex at times, really bad period pain and mild pain when going to the toilet. Lots if headaches which apparently you can get too, don't know why. Pelvic pain and period pains getting gradually worse and every female on mama side has had it, my mam had to have hysterectomy at 36. I've been on birth control for most of my adult life (implant with no periods) so I think that's why its never been a problem before so much . Not been confirmed though waiting for my investigation

Theawkwardblonde · 22/01/2021 23:28

@notyetamumbuttrying I switched DH to looser fit boxers a few months ago. He was mortified when I made the suggestion as he likes his slim fit Calvin Klein boxer/trunk style things. Got him a pack of looser boxers-a day later he order 2 more packs 😂 goodness knows if it makes a difference to sperm quality but he seems to like them.

@CreativeThinkerTequilaDrinker get him on the loose boxers! My hubby was mortified when I said looser boxers as he likes his Calvin kleins-now he's switched he wouldn't go back!

crazycatlady1981 · 23/01/2021 07:57

@Annny27 that is wonderful news about the SA! Such an amazing improvement with those changes! 🙂

@Hayley19835 so sorry to hear about your AMH, really hope the consultant gives you some good news in March regarding the IVF. Have you had an antral follicle count during a scan yet? The consultant I saw for my scan said that he thought my AMH results should have been higher because of my afc during the scan. My AMH was 6.1 and my AFC was 10. I don’t really know what the numbers mean but he said they were ok for my age.

I’ve started spotting now so we’re out this month! Boo! At least I’ll be able to eat lots of cake and drink lots of wine on hubbys bday on Wednesday! 😊

notyetamumbuttrying · 23/01/2021 08:13

@Annny27 ah gotcha! Yeah he's not gonna like them. 🙈
@Hayley19835 oh I'm so sorry to hear this. I guess it's ivf next then? You can still do icsi with low amh, they'll just put you on a longer protocol to harvest more eggs. If you have a look at the infertility boards there's loadsa stuff on there x
@CreativeThinkerTequilaDrinker that's what they say but didn't want to be a cliche ❤️
@kerrym87 ah sorry to hear all that! I get twinges throughout my cycle too and bad period pain, ov pain and pain after sex rather than during. Nothings come up for me yet, not endo or pcos so I wonder if I'm just one of those unfortunate women?! What do they suspect you have? I missed the msg to dogmum.
@Theawkwardblonde good to know he took to them, mine will hate it but I'm going to show him annys msg on here to see if that encourages him! Wish me luck 😂
@crazycatlady1981 sorry you're looking out but yay to cake and wine next week! Hope he has a nice bday. My Dh's is on the 13th feb, such a shame things are unlikely to open up by then. I suppose I'll just cook for a change as he's the cook in the house and I'll get him lots of chocolate! 😋
Happy Saturday everyone, yay!! It's just a day for a longer walk these days isn't 😆

@notyetamumbuttrying another vote for "he'll get used to them". Husband said the biggest change was when he tried to run in them because he really felt the lack of support then. But said it's fine!

Plus it's a good excuse to get rid of those "past their best" boxers that need the bin!

Dogmum13 · 23/01/2021 13:16

@kerrym87 I'm exactly the same. I'm awaiting a referral. I had a laparoscopy done 7 years ago and they told me I didn't have it so I was shocked when my gp said that's what she thinks it is. Hopefully we don't have to wait too much longer to find out 🤞🤞

kerrym87 · 23/01/2021 14:05

@notyetamumbuttrying endometriosis and possible pcos too....as well as hubby borderline count

Narwhal88 · 23/01/2021 15:31

@Annny27 such a great improvement on results! I wish we had the same luck but it looks like we can't really improve DH sperm anymore.

@kerrym87 @Dogmum13 I have been told I have adeno from an MRI by GP and I suspect I have some endo as well. I get a lot of pain during and leading up to AF, sometimes painful sex, painful bowel movements during AF. I emailed my fertility gynaecologist yesterday and she basically just said there wasn't any evidence of issues on my internal ultrasound and that she has discharged me for IVF so I'll have to get referred to someone else from GP again if I want someone to look into it. She doesn't give a shit basically, I find it appalling.

@Hayley19835 sorry to hear you have low AMH, it just means you are likely to get a lower number of eggs during IVF I think, but they should still be good quality. I've seen loads of women with really low AMH still be successful. I would get started sooner rather than later though. Like @notyetamumbuttrying said have a look at the infertility boards.

notyetamumbuttrying · 23/01/2021 16:46

@Tofu35 very true! And it turns out that he has a pair of looser ones anyway so I've said to him to get more of those and he agreed! How ru getting on hun?
@kerrym87 ah sorry to hear! Ivf is defo the way forward then. They can honestly do wonders even with both female and male factors! Do you have a referral date yet?
@Narwhal88 did his repeat SA not show an improvement then? Sorry the gyno wasn't much help, that does sound appalling!

OP posts:
Narwhal88 · 23/01/2021 17:29

@notyetamumbuttrying the 2nd SA showed a slightly improvement but the 3rd results were about the same even after 3 months on Proxeed. However he is continuing the Proxeed as this helps DNA fragmentation as well so can only do good and may as well do all we can.
Have you heard anything about your guys appointment yet? Fingers crossed it doesn't get cancelled.

AF started today which makes this a 26 day cycle. I like it when they are slightly longer makes me feel more normal!

notyetamumbuttrying · 23/01/2021 18:30

@Narwhal88 see this is what I'm thinking will be our outcome too! I think your Dh numbers were close to my Dh (all 3 parameters on the low side). Sucks doesn't it!! Not heard anything yet, reckon we won't until feb. Just praying we don't hear a thing and can go in! If it does cancel we can get a repeat SA via the gp as we still have the form. And then I can get amh tested privately and then we can decide what to do in terms of waiting longer or going private.
We're so similar, mine also range from 24-26 days so I know what you mean about being pleased they're on the longer side! Hope you're doing ok ♥️

OP posts:
Narwhal88 · 23/01/2021 19:59

@notyetamumbuttrying yes we are very similar! All 3 parameters were low on the first SA but motility increased massively into the normal range for the 2nd and stayed good on the 3rd. I am ok, very stressed at work though which is distracting me at the moment. Fingers crossed your appt goes ahead, hope you are ok x

notyetamumbuttrying · 23/01/2021 21:20

@Narwhal88 good to hear motility increased that's encouraging to hear! I feel a bit shafted that we have haven't had a second SA yet and others are on their third 😂 tbf Dh could have got the second one through the gp in dec and didn't bother cos of this feb appointment. I'll throttle him if this appointment doesn't go ahead in 😂 joking of course! Hopefully we can go bk via gp again if it comes to it. Sorry works stressful, I know that feeling! Yeah I'm ok thanks 😊

2021babyhope · 23/01/2021 21:33

Hi everyone :) I hope it's okay to jump on here.

TTC 14 months now and not a hint of a BFP.

Just starting to loose hope! Was booked for a laparoscopy for January but obviously everything's been cancelled for now!

Currently "unexplained", ovulating normally ect

Any advice on how to not go insane??? 😅

kerrym87 · 23/01/2021 21:45

@notyetamumbuttrying they haven't confirmed it yet and got ultrasound 13th ( not sure why, wasn't mentioned at clinic appointment) and waiting for camera and hyscosy but they can't give me a precise date depends on if they shut outpatients down for covid

notyetamumbuttrying · 23/01/2021 22:01

@kerrym87 13th feb? That's Dh bday so that'll be a good omen! I really hope you can go ahead with the tests hun, will keep these crossed for you 🤞🏾
@2021babyhope yes please do! Welcome 😃 16 months coming up 17 over here, it's hellish! Although we have male factor so at least an explanation for it all. Really feel for you with unexplained, must be so frustrating! Is this for your first? No advice apart from chatting to likeminded peeps on here has helped me 🙂 plus just accepting it all. We have to do ivf and our first appointment is next month so knowing there's a plan in place has helped also.

OP posts:
Theawkwardblonde · 24/01/2021 09:59

@2021babyhope we are about 16/17 months, I've genuinely lost count. No issues have been found so far with us. Consultants are hopeful as I've had chemicals but that was over 7 months ago. Not a clue how to not go insane 🤣🤣 all I can say is you're in good company here. I've taken time out from social media as I've found my friends who are pregnant post a plethora of images etc. Coming off Facebook and Instagram has helped with coping massively.

Already know I'll be out this month. CD11 and not even gotten round to DTD. Probs a tmi question but do any of you struggle with the motivation sometimes? I know I desperately want a child, but it's getting harder and harder to do bloody scheduled dtd. It's hard enough for us with shifts but I'm just exhausted all the time. Feeling like a crappy wife this month!

Narwhal88 · 24/01/2021 10:50

@Theawkwardblonde you are not alone. I am finding it harder and harder to find motivation for sex too. I feel like it's all pointless and I'm so stressed and tired I am not in the mood most of the time. We probably only have sex 4 times around ovulation (every 2 days) and then I'm done for the cycle. I know people say you should have sex for fun too but I don't find it fun anymore, it's just a constant reminder of what we can't have.

Theawkwardblonde · 24/01/2021 10:54

@Narwhal88 that's reassuring to hear that someone is the same as me. I'm not in the mood recently either which I think is down to shifts, being exhausted from work and generally just feeling low. I was looking back at my cycle planners and the nasty few months we've only done it around 4/5 times in the fertile period. Totally get you over the constant reminder thing. Even DH is getting a bit sick of it as there's no outcome. I know people will say keep the shark alive etc, but it's hard. We've done the months where we've dtd none stop and it nearly killed us off 😂😂
If lockdown wasn't in place I would have gone away for a few nights but can't even do that. There's just no bloody break from it!

Theawkwardblonde · 24/01/2021 10:55

@Narwhal88 few typos in my last post! spark not shark LOL and past not nasty! Damn autocorrect

Tofu35 · 24/01/2021 12:01

@theawkwardblonde @narwhal88 definitely more of a chore sometimes. I think this month husband tried to suggest fun sex, and I said "nah, we'll be starting the fertile week soon, just wait for that".

Spontaneous sex? No thanks dear, I only want timetabled duty sex now.

CD15 for me now, NC suggesting I'll ovulate CD 21 (with my 32 day cycle). So it's timetabled sex time for us!

RobinRose · 24/01/2021 12:13

@Tofu35 @Theawkwardblonde @Narwhal88
Agree with you all! we generally dtd up until after fertile week then we're done. I don't feel I'm in the mood as much as I used to be and dp is pretty tired after work most nights. We would have had a few weekends away and breaks in the uk which I think might of helped, something else to look forward to you know? But obviously can't do that at the moment. Working from home doesn't help me either. Af arrived today, a day late but as expected

Tofu35 · 24/01/2021 13:17

Oh @robinrose sorry to hear about AF arriving. It sounded like you were expecting it but it's still crap when you're proven right :(

notyetamumbuttrying · 24/01/2021 13:41

@Narwhal88 that's how I feel too! The constant reminder that it's something we can't achieve naturally so why the hell are we bothering!! Very similar to you @Theawkwardblonde that I just can't be arsed. I'm ovulating today and we did it today and yesterday and today took so long to get going cos clearly neither of us could really be arsed! But those two times will likely be it for this cycle now. We might end up doing it once next weekend and then I'll be on the weekend after! Interesting to hear you're the same too @RobinRose I think cause it's been over a year now we're all just fed up with it all! I applaud those ppl who try for years n years! I'd literally go insane! I'm just counting the cycles until this bloody appointment now. One more period and one more FW to go! And then maybe sex will be less forced once we know when things are actually gonna happen ivf wise. Sorry you came on hun, hope you're ok x
