I'm sure we can all agree that there are a lot of reasons to not TTC right now... but I'm almost 32 and DH and I would like 2 children so really need to get a shuffle on with the first...

Justifying myself aside, I just really needed to get my excitement out somewhere where people will understand!

I've got my conception vitamins and some myo-isotol to hopefully help regulate my irregular cycles. My copper coil is coming out in April... then its all systems go!

Anyone else starting TTC in 2021? I'm a bit excited Grin

Anyone still around? Jumping on as hoping to TTC this year. Would be baby number 3, got a daughter who is 15months, my eldest would nearly be 5 but she died just before her first birthday sadly 👼
I'm ready to go but DH wants to wait until DD is a bit older, I'm hoping he will be on bored by the times she's 18 months 🤞🤞will deffo be my last baby so I'm in two minds, I don't want to rush the baby years but so ready to complete my family 🥰

Hi, hoping this thread is still going! I feel like a switch has flipped on in my body and suddenly I'm ready to start trying! I've just turned 30 and I get married in 6 months so we are going to wait until after that but I'm quite keen to start preparing myself! Am I getting too ahead of myself?

DunravenBadger · 17/01/2021 09:52

Definitely not getting ahead of yourself @HRHXO 6 months isn't that long tbh. I've got 9.5 months and feeling super keen! Can't start trying before then but I'm very excited. For me I need to come off prescription meds so I'm in the process of doing that now. Will be starting prenatals (folic acid etc.) in 6 months too but for you that'll be even sooner. How exciting!

HRHXO · 17/01/2021 10:46

@DunravenBadger aww that's great and than you so much I was worried I was getting carried away too soon! I can't wait to get the wedding done (I am excited about that too obviously) but now I'm just so ready to get trying for a baby! How soon is too soon to start taking prenatal vitamins and folic acid? X

DunravenBadger · 17/01/2021 10:51

Not sure. The NHS advises a minimum of 12 weeks but I've heard of people taking them 6 months in advance. Not sure if it offers any additional benefit but I guess it can't hurt?

I'm back and re-igniting my thread! Hi everyone!

Well after wondering if and when I'd be able to get an appointment to have my copper coil removed (everything being delayed due to the pandemic of course), I went for my overdue smear and the nurse agreed to take it out for me while I was there!

After discussing it with DH are we Not Officially Trying, but also not preventing for now... I'm so excited Grin

The myo-inositol seems to have triggered some weight loss which is nice, at least it's doing something, but I'm now on Cycle Day 45 Hmm

I've stopped taking Pregnacare having read that it can elongate cycles, but that was only a few days ago. Since then I've developed sore boobs (not sore nipples like then I was pregnant with DS - no chance I'm pregnant this month!) and PMS so hopefully AF is on its way and I have a more normal length cycle next month on Seven Seas...!

I'm not expecting anything over the next few months, but hopefully once we start trying in earnest in April... we are hopefully visiting DH's parents where they live abroad in August and it would be lovely to be able to surprise them with the news!

How is everyone getting on with their prepping and/or TTC? Smile

@katewitch How exciting!!

I’ve stopped taking the pill and my cycles are regular (even when I was on it) which is nice. I was thinking of taking pregnacare but maybe I won’t yet if it elongates cycles!

We’re also ‘trying properly’ from April but not preventing it from now too. It’s such an exciting time! Smile

katewitch · 05/02/2021 09:09

@Itsjustme20 glad they've stayed regular for you! Yes I would recommend any other brand over Pregnacare but if you're naturally regular you'd probably be perfectly fine with it Smile

AF arrived here so I'm on CD2, I'm nervous to be in our first month NTNP... if by some miracle it happens quickly I think DH will be shocked Grin

But that all likes ahead... for now I'll be spending the day dealing with my kamikaze uterus Hmm

@katewitch

I might speak to my GP and see what they recommend 😂

I’m nervous too! It’s ‘ovulation’ day today and I’m a bit nervous about it being the first month NTNP 😂 You spend so many years being told you can get pregnant so quickly and to take precautions it’s so weird! I think DH would be shocked with us if we did get pregnant quickly.

Oh bless you 😞 Lots of chocolate and hot water bottles!

katewitch · 05/02/2021 11:53

@Itsjustme20 eek, that really is exciting! I was terrified with DS 7 years ago that it would take ages/worried I'd have fertility issues (no reason for thinking this, I was just paranoid!) then it happened first cycle... part of me is worried again as DH is an unknown quantity Grin but also worried that it will happen quickly again... I think nerves make everything all jumbled up between excitement and terror Grin

Thanks, I have a bag of MiniEggs to see me through Wink

Itsjustme20 · 05/02/2021 12:12

@katewitchMini eggs are the winner!

We’ve been pregnant before unexpectedly (I was on the pill) but we were advised a medical termination early on so, although it’s safe this time, I’m a bit worried that it’ll be quick again. I definitely agree with the unsure if it’s excitement or nerves 😂
This would be our first so it’s all new 😂

DunravenBadger · 08/02/2021 11:09

Hi all, good luck in the first NTNP cycle. That's interesting to read about pregnacare as it's the one I was considering. What are some good alternatives to pregnacare? Or is it literally any of them?

katewitch · 08/02/2021 11:29

I've moved over to Seven Seas, too early to tell if it will make a difference though! Its much cheaper at least Smile
