I'd tentatively like to join you all. We have decided to try for number 2. Our first is almost 2 We decided to go with it for now, not think about timings too much and see whether it works out before using OPks and stuff again. I do have a rough idea though and am on cycle day 16 today.

@MiniBaker yep 4DPO - CD 17. We DTD in the 3 days leading up, plus every other day the week before, so let's see what happens.
Temping is ok ... I use it with OPK because I was paranoid that I was getting the surge but not ovulation, so wanted to confirm... it does look like I get a slow rise that sustains in my 2nd half of my cycle though - which deffo means somethings happening.

In terms of practicality ... it took some time to get used to ... you need to temp just as you wake up before you do anything else, even before you check your phone, go back for a snooze or give your OH a cuddle. I'm a terrible sleeper, so this is a bit annoying.
It only works retrospectively to confirm your ovulation too ... I'd say it's deffo worth doing it to understand your cycle, but if you already know it, I wouldn't recommend adding another thing into the mix. I think we'll drop it for the next cycle if we're not successful this round.

Do you use anything else other than OPK?

@Sar1010 I am no opk expert.j have bought them for this cycle and completely forgotten how to use them since I conceived DD.
I think you are not supposed to use fmu, a friend suggested testing at lunchtime and I know lots of people test several times a day. You are supposed to start testing as soon as you stop bleeding the first time I think to catch any early ovulation.
I have actually just bought an Ava Bracelet because I couldn't face the faff!

Thanks @Soexciting, I’d never heard of an Ava bracelet. Just had a quick look, they look fab. And less faff is great for me as the more faff the more stress.
I used OPK the first day after AF ended and I could swear there was two bold lines. I had left the OPK for over an half an hour so it may have just been what happens when the tests are left... but all the other sticks haven’t had the same result after 30 mins... hmmm.

Maybe this Ava bracelet is the way forward.

@Sar1010 yes I ovulate usually cd12 sometimes a day either side. I get severe ovulation pains so I know when to test

Have been completely wiped out this week and not sure if mc or covid related - did a covid test yesterday so will wait and see what comes back...pretty sure it's just mental post-mc hormones doing it to me though. Feeling better yesterday/today so hopefully whatever was causing it has passed! How are you doing?
Feeling excited that fertile window is approaching. REALLY hoping I ovulate after the early mc on Xmas day. After the mc in Sept I think it took a couple of months to ov but that was much further along. We shall see. We dtd last night, now plan to start dtd every other day from Tuesday whilst opk'ing and temping so can hopefully dtd every day of peak 🤞
So pleased you got your peak! It's so satisfying when you feel like you successfully nail the timings! Keeping fingers crossed for you for this cycle xxx

10 dpo and the line is definitely a little darker than 2 days ago. Praying it keeps getting darker.

It’s good you are looking forward to ovulation. I hope you are doing ok and taking care of yourself. I ovulated 2 weeks after my first MC but not for a month after the second one. I hope you do as so many people report falling pregnant straight after a MC so it is possible x

@MgW1 sorry - totally missed your post. That's good news about the bloods! I have a spinach protein shake each morning which tastes yummy and keeps my iron levels up so something like that might help? 🤷‍♀️😘

I know I am so sorry. I'd followed last night so I could say hello this morning 😂 So usually about 28 days but they are all over the place as I've had a miscarriage and a chemical in the last few months so I don't really know. My only concern is how faint the lines are for where I'd expect to be. So I guess I just have to wait and see now 🤞🏼😫

Hi everyone. I am joining the thread....hope that is ok! We are semi trying for baby number 2. Am 38 almost 39 in a few days which doesn't make things easier! Currently on 9DPO or 8DPO not 100% sure. Due period on 9th Jan. Too early to test yet and don't have any tests so trying to leave until at least tomorrow!!!
Last month I tested multiple times every day from 8dpo which was such a waste of money so not doing it this month! Timing was pretty good this month with day before ovulation. Feeling hopeful but not confident!

I’m relatively new only joining last cycle and I’m picking some of them up as I go but not all so someone else may need to help me out here but, here goes....

OH - other half
DTD - do the deed
BD - baby dance
MC - miscarriage
CD - cycle day
DPO - days past ovulation
CP - chemical pregnancy
BFN - Big Fat Negative
and the one we’re all here for...
BFP - Big Fat Positive!

I’m sure there are loads other but I’m not sure of them all either...

The first one was a missed miscarriage. At a 10 week scan I found out that bubs was only measuring 6+1 and didn’t have a heartbeat. The second was a really early on. I was about 5 weeks but the line was so faint so I knew what was likely to happen.
I’m feeling really hopeful about this one so I hope I’m not disappointed!

Are you a symptom spotter? I’m terrible for it but I have to say as the months have gone on I have got better at ignoring any niggles as I know previously it’s all been in my head and it’s just my body doing its normal thing!

Ahh, I might not take up temping as I try to avoid TTC being the first thing I think of when I wake up as its just a slippery slope of obsessing from there for me.

I do monitor my CM and notice it’s definitely more slippery and more of it around ovulation but I almost never see EWCM and I’m sure that is one of my barriers to getting pregnant. I had a little bit once a couple cycles ago but it wasn’t that stretchy or that clear.

I’m currently on CD 2, and toying with completely not tracking anything this cycle to be honest and just having a month off thinking about it. I said this to my OH and he was a little bit hesitant and said “but that’s your key information” but did then say it’s not important if we DTD every other day anyway. I just know he so wants to be a dad xx
