Hey ladies! Sneaking in.. AF due 12th Jan so early days.

TTC#3, got two little boys already who are 7 & 6 (Irish twins!) although this month was more NTNP, so not trying to get my hopes up toooo much (Ha! As if..).

Goodluck everyone!

RAA852021 · 01/01/2021 17:19

Hi Everyone! I am new on here. I'm 35 and DP is 35 too.
Took out contraception in October. This month is the first month TTC. Quite nervous tbh and I thought it would be good to join a group. Fingers crossed for everyone x

HotFudge87 · 01/01/2021 18:13

Hi everyone! 9dpo here. 1st month ttc. Have been charting temps for past 3 years almost so hoping we will be successful early on. Had a .20c dip 4 days ago, AF due Tuesday. Tested yesterday on the off chance, but negative. Loads of heartburn past 4/5 days which is uncommon for me. I hate waiting!!! Beat of luck to you all x

Sar1010 · 01/01/2021 18:34

Hi there,
Me and my partner have been trying since April 2020. I had a CP in June and since then nothing. This is our first cycle trying SMEP, currently cd10. Trying to stay positive and relax (whatever that means, how impossible to relax in a pandemic and when every pull and pain gets your pondering !!)
Anyway,
I always read these threads for comfort but I thought I’d join in this time.
Does anyone have any diet tips for fertility? And anyone else using SMEP.
Lots of love
S

Hey all! Jumping over (again) 😅

On CD2 today, TTC since May.

All the best for this month ladies! We go again ❤️

Mrsknott · 01/01/2021 20:03

Hey all!
Have been ttc since March, no luck so far. No fertility issues, have 2 girls already, this would be hubby’s first. So no idea why it’s not happening. Had very early miscarriage 2nd month trying so hopeful it will happen.
AF due Monday, so fingers crossed!
xx

MiniBaker · 01/01/2021 20:32

Hi @sar1010
I’m probably not the best person to give advice as i’ve been TTC since May, AF is about to start tomorrow as started spotting today... but i’ve read a lot about diet for fertility - the key things to include were kale, broccoli, avocados, eggs and drinking lots of water (little and often) not large glasses a few times a day as water thins the blood, most of the water in big large glasses will be lost almost immediately in urine. To keep properly hydrated it needs to be little sips throughout the day. They are the main takeaways from reading in general. Also the obvious of cutting out caffeine, alcohol, processed sugars and taking a folic acid supplement xxx

sunshineandshowers3 · 01/01/2021 20:58

@Sar1010 How old are you if you don’t mind me asking?

I’m with you on the trying to relax...so hard though isn’t it? The last couple of months two close friends have announced their pregnant both days when my AF arrived. What are the chances?!?

Hoping for a positive 2021! X

RHODXB · 01/01/2021 21:06

Jumping on! Second cycle TTC baby 2 almost 9 years after the first 🙈 currently in the 2week wait! 🤞

RHODXB · 01/01/2021 21:11

Here's hoping this is a great new year for everyone xx

DSV20 · 01/01/2021 21:28

Jumping on this thread.
At the very beginning of our TTC journey, was told a few years ago that conception may be a little difficult so I'm expecting a bit of a journey but keeping everything crossed for a BFP in 2021.
Stopped contraception a few weeks ago and not yet ovulating so very early days Smile

Emc16x · 01/01/2021 21:32

Jumping back on. CD34. Had cramping and sore boobs for 7-10 days now. Not testing for another week just to be 100%. Hoping and praying. Crossing everything.

Good luck everybody!!

@MamaPheebz can’t wait to hear of your test on Sunday!

MamaPheebz · 01/01/2021 21:38

Hi @Emc16x hope you are ok and Happy new year!
Have you tested at all this cycle?
Fingers crossed for you! X

Emc16x · 01/01/2021 22:06

You too @MamaPheebz! It’s nice to see a ‘familiar face’.

No testing yet - a little too afraid! It would be a miracle. We weren’t trying....I didn’t test...we just dtd once when I thought I may have been ovulating and now I’m 3 days late. I’m just too scared to test and already convinced myself it’ll be negative. Xx

HotFudge87 · 01/01/2021 22:12

@RHODXB my daughter is approaching 8 so know how you feel! Best of luck to you 💜

Dogmum13 · 02/01/2021 02:13

@sunshineandshowers3 I'm on cycle 14 been trying just over a year now

sunshineandshowers3 · 02/01/2021 08:38

@Dogmum13 Really hoping it happens for you soon ❤️👍🏻. Have you had any tests at all? I’m a complete control freak and when it’s the thing you want most in life and you can’t control it, it’s bloody c**p isn’t it? 😂x

sunshineandshowers3 · 02/01/2021 08:43

@MiniBaker Oh gosh yes every other day is so much more attainable. Genuinely don’t know how people keep it up everyday for months on end.

My partner is being sent for a blood test this week and I’m going 7 days before my next period (which hopefully never comes 🤞). I should’ve asked, but did they say to you why men have the blood test? I know we do to check progesterone or something like that - but not sure why he is having one. He’s also waiting for a letter about his SA. Just chomping at the bit to get the ball rolling ASAP!

When I rang the doctor the first thing he said was ‘stress’. He kept reiterating it so I know that he thinks that is probably the cause. When I said I was worried about starting my periods early, he said that isn’t something to worry about. Hoping he’s right! X

MiniBaker · 02/01/2021 09:04

@sunshineandshowers3

I’d be curious about why the blood tests for men too? My husband wasn’t offered blood test - only a SA. That makes sense to go 7 days before next period as I said my cycles were usually 28 days (they were at the time) so that’s why she must have said day 21. Must be a key hormone time.

I’m sure it’s stress that is the problem for me too! Even though I don’t have a stressful job at all - and I don’t have many things to stress about in life really. I seem to always root out stress... Did the doctor have any suggestions about how to reduce stress?

I got to my lowest point yet in the TTC journey yesterday and just cried all morning and then crawled in to bed for a nap - I know it sounds dramatic but I just couldn’t even go out with my husband for a NYD walk or face cooking or cleaning up the house.. which I usually love to do on NYD to start the new year fresh.

Luckily he walked the dog, cleaned up for me and cooked our dinner. I’m so grateful to him for being such a rock - I just wish I could make him the dad he wants to be xx

How are you ladies doing ?? Hope everyone is ok , im approx 2dpo today. Had a blood test , moderately anaemic but thyroid is ok. Not really tried this month so dont think anything will happen , just trying to get iron levels back up now , eating more veg 😬 xx

Sparkles512 · 02/01/2021 09:49

Think I'm out this month, had stomach cramps the last few days and today some light blood when wiping.
Came off the pill in November and finished bleeding on 30th November.
Only had a day of blood when wiping before Xmas nothing since.
Hopefully my period will now fully develop and we can start again!
Fingers crossed for everyone testing soon

JeanieJ · 02/01/2021 10:22

Hiya! Can I join this group? I've been kinda lurking for a few months on different threads and it's been super useful hearing everyone's stories. I find it really reassuring knowing that it's not just me who'se finding this hard. We've been TTC #1 for 6 months - I'm 33 and DH is 29. I use Natural Cycles AND Clue, as well as OPK. I've a classic 28 day cycle & tend to ovulate on CD13/14.
My temps seem ok, I have a slow rise after ovulation & I never rise above 36.5. I managed to get a fertility blood test recently based on my thyroid levels being a bit high last year (I mentioned we were TTC, so the doc said she might as well check for everything - all came back normal, so she said to come back when we've reached a year. I have a weird suspicion that he might have a low count ... it took his folks years to have their first ... but maybe I'm just being unfair and impatient 🤷🏻
I'm currently 4DPO, but the most recent window was a bit more stressful for both of us. Normally our bedroom dynamic is fine, but the past few months he's been getting intermittent performance anxiety, so sometimes we have to stop. It's really hard not to react emotionally, which obviously makes things way worse. We pushed through this month, but it was really hard and a bit fraught. Thinking of packing in the temp checking & OPK for a few months just to reduce the anxiety and get things back to normal ... but I don't want to wait too long. Anyone else have this problem?
Also, thinking of changing my WhatsApp status to 'no baby scan photobombs PLZ' ... I have so many cousins and friends constantly announcing their news to me and at the worst times! Twice it's happened literally as I've read a BFN! 😩

gracie2307 · 02/01/2021 10:51

Morning ladies @MgW1, @BubsNumber2intheMaking, @SunnydazeQ, @MamaPheebz

Thanks for your message @MgW1 - thats really good news that your blood test was all ok apart from the iron. Stock up on lots of spinach and broccoli, you'll feel like popeye but at least it will help.

Finally got my peak OPK this morning 🤗🤗🤗 was so worried it would turn out like my last cycle!! My poor DH might expire from doing SMEP 🤣 but at least I have a proper end point this cycle! Definitely not working over the Xmas period has done wonders for my stress levels so I'm really going to try and keep it up when I go back to work next week.

@MamaPheebz - wishing you lots of baby dust and luck for your test tomorrow!! 😊 hoping you'll get a darker BFP!! So exciting.

@SunnydazeQ how you doing sweet? Hows the 2ww? Hope you are all good!

@BubsNumber2inTheMaking how are you? Hope you are all good? Hows your weekend going?

Xxx

MgW1 · 02/01/2021 10:58

@MamaPheebz
Good luck for your next test , can deffo see a faint line 🙏🙏😬 xxx

Sar1010 · 02/01/2021 11:01

Hi @sunshineandshowers3, I turned 30 in July and my partner is 34.

I’m glad you feel the same about relaxing! I can totally relate to friends getting pregnant... My sister in law announced her pregnancy in October and a very close friend announced in November. It’s very hard. Both of our mums are worried about us too which isn’t helpful!

Thanks @MiniBaker, and sorry to here about the spotting... i feel your pain. ❤️

I didn’t know about sipping water I usually just gulp big glasses when I remember! Will also add a bit more veg to my diet (we usually are quite healthy, no caffeine, very low alcohol etc, but over the festive period we definitely enjoyed ourselves)

me and my partner decided that he should take the lead this month. So he looked up SMEP and has all our dtd days planned. It’s definitely helping me to relax a little!
