Congratulations ladies!
Need some advice...
Yesterday I started bleeding so thought my period is here we will just start again!
Today I'm still bleeding but have been sick which never happens... Could I be pregnant? Or am I just reading too much into this and my period is making me sick?

Sar1010 · 03/01/2021 19:10

Hi @Annabelle0852 and @Rd123
I’m on Cd13 so we’re all on the same vibe!
(Except I’ve been ttc since April, though this is the first month using OPKS. I wanted to be abit more casual and calm but i think we was missing ovulation each time)
Today I also had +opk and dtd! Fingers crossed for us x

sunshineandshowers3 · 03/01/2021 19:38

@Sar1010 Relaxing is so much easier said than done, isn’t it? Our wedding was cancelled in April and then my DP’s father passed away a few months later due to Covid. To say it’s been a stressful year would be an understatement.

I can’t remember if you said, but do many people know you’re trying? It’s odd because I now just expect the pregnancy announcements - almost like getting myself prepared for them being announced and trying not to be too disheartened xx

Rd123 · 03/01/2021 19:59

@Sar1010 it’s great to have someone on the same wave length! I ran out of OPKs earlier, just in from tesco we got another lol.. gonna BD tonight and tomorrow then relax for a night we’ll be wrecked after all this! The clear blue ones are brill I have to say, I was using the advanced ones the supermarket only had normal ones earlier so grabbed them to see what they’re like, I know I’m nearly at peak so should be ok.. if it doesn’t work this month I’ll get the advanced one for next month!

Rd123 · 03/01/2021 20:37

I was using ClearBlue Advanced OPKS which shows low high and peak fertility. Yesterday and this afternoon it was on ‘high’ however I ran out today them. The shops only had the normal one which shows low or high and it’s coming up as low. Does anyone know why this might be?! Thanks!

CaramelWaferAndTea · 03/01/2021 20:47

Joining - first cycle TTC #2. Have had ectopic (tube removed) and miscarriage before #1. Reassuringly, this cycle is exactly mirroring the one I conceived on 2 years ago! Missed probably peak ovulation day so probably in for next cycle.

@Rd123, 'high' on the advanced OPKS is oestrogen, not LH. The normal one is LH - so high on the normal one is the same as peak on the advanced one. Maybe just not hit the high yet.

Rd123 · 03/01/2021 20:49

@CaramelWaferAndTea thanks so much x

CaramelWaferAndTea · 03/01/2021 20:52

@Rd123 the graph here uk.clearblue.com/ovulation-tests/advanced-digital explains it better than I did, I think. Second picture down. Hope that helps and keep testing. I have conceived on all three of the cycles I used the advanced test on and DTD at the static smiley so am a big fan of them Grin

Sar1010 · 03/01/2021 21:06

@sunshineandshowers3
We postponed our wedding too!! It was supposed to be in July.. hopefully this year it can go ahead.

Well, we didn’t want to tell anybody but I before I had a CP in June and we told very close family. So yes now they do know we’re ttc.. which is abit annoying. We don’t really talk about it with any of them. But there’s the occasional hint and dig from MIL.
At least covid is sort of keeping us away from the announcements in person. It’s not great getting the texts, WhatsApps or seeing a status but i think it would be harder in person. If you know what I mean?
Is this your #1? It’s mine
X

Sar1010 · 03/01/2021 21:09

@Rd123 oooh might have to try clear blue tomorrow! We’re on the cheapy Amazon ones called one step.

Yes BD is all fun and games until one of you hits a tired wall! So far so good over here Grin

FluffyLittleDragon · 03/01/2021 21:18

@Sar1010 we postponed our wedding from May 2020 to Oct 2020 so I do understand that stress. It's a challenging time & I hope we all can get through it.

MgW1 · 03/01/2021 21:29

@BubsNumber2inTheMaking
I think mine is this iron issue and run down , got mouth ulcers and not been sleeping that great. Got a few days off work and my kiddies back at school on tues , going to have a new year spring clean i think. Not as much to distract me now from ttc and 2ww!! Need a new netflix series now i reckon xx

MiniBaker · 03/01/2021 22:19

@JeanieJ

I know what you mean - I get confused between all the different liquids down there!

Same with my AF I always know it’s coming and have bad dreams before and my CM goes really watery.

We’ve kept it all very hush hush to be honest - i’ve told my mum and my OH has told one of his friends, he had to because he was trying to arrange his stag do for my ovulation weekend back in the summer 😂

As it’s taken so long I’m really happy that we’ve kept it quiet as it would have been another added pressure! I can imagine how you feel with your family and lots of pregnancies happening around you. I’m similar with 4 of my cousins all suddenly pregnant this year. I actually find it really difficult to hear about it / see pictures of babies / scan pics and just don’t engage really in the conversations or WhatsApp group chats because it’s too hard for me - and makes me feel really jealous. Especially as the months have gone on.

Its wonderful you’re trying to be happy for your sisters! I wish I could be happier for others. . . I’m not quite there yet though 😂

It’s so reassuring to hear others feeling the same and realise it’s not just me. I do believe it will happen, I knew that it would take a while for me. I put a lot of pressure on myself to be pregnant before I was 30. I’m 30 this month, so that’s not going to happen and I kind of feel like I can let go of that expectation of myself now. Did you have any deadlines set in your head? Do you have anything you enjoy doing to help you relax? xx

SadieSazzle · 04/01/2021 00:54

Hello my lovely ladies...👋 new to mumsnet but not new to ttc...been ttc #1 since May 2019... really wanted to join this thread but didnt feel worthy. Love how encouraging everyone is though!
@MiniBaker in terms of deadlines, I really thought I'd have my BFP by the time I turned 34 and definitely by the end of 2020 but those have been and gone. I agree, its almost like I've let go of the expectations I've held myself to.
Now that 2021 is here, it feels like we have 12 brand new chances to create our precious little bundle. We have a whole new year to get medical help if needed so it feels like its all going to be ok.
Sending a big, squashy (covid-free) hug to all you future mamas ❤

FluffyLittleDragon · 04/01/2021 07:35

@SadieSazzle I agree with the positiveness. There is comfort in knowing women my age are trying too & I wish everyone the best of luck.

MiniBaker · 04/01/2021 09:46

@SadieSazzle

Ahh we are cycle twins too 👯 I have been trying since May 2019! I completely agree, now 2021 is here we have 12 fresh months ahead.

I know people always say women are always trying to put other women down. But then you come on mumsnet and see so so many women being there to share honest feelings, support others struggling and offer judgement free advice helpful advice. So many wonderful women out there 💕 feel so lucky to be able to have this outlet. I hope you find sharing your worries here as comforting as it has been for me. Have you told others you’re TTC? xx

SadieSazzle · 04/01/2021 10:04

@MiniBaker Aww...cycle twins!
No, we've not told anyone we're ttc. Joining mumsnet seemed like a big enough step for me! 🙈
I suppose I haven't told friends or family as I didn't want extra pressure or them asking for updates every month and having nothing to update!
Just trying to be of the mindset that if it happens, then great! but if not, then that's ok too...easier said than done when you would absolutely love a little baba!

SunnydazeQ · 04/01/2021 10:36

@SparkyLauz you can test to be sure or wait it out a few more days to see what's happening. On a few threads back there was a lady who had a period and then found out she was pregnant so you never know. 🤞

JeanieJ · 04/01/2021 11:46

@MiniBaker - yep completely agree that scans and photos of friends/cousins babies can be a bit triggering. Hopefully not long yet until you'll have your own news to share :)
It's deffo made me really conscious that when it finally does happen, I'll be sensitive about how I tell people.

In terms of deadlines - Honestly, I didn't start thinking about whether I wanted to have kids until I turned 30 - so you're a step ahead of me :) I then decided I'd like to have one by 34 and after we bought a house (I'll be 34 in May, so I guess that's not happening).
Covid kind of messed lots of things up ...
We were supposed to get married last May and the plan was to start trying after ... Then our date got moved to October (we did that in March before we realised how bad things were). I'd already bought my wedding dress, so wanted to be able to fit into it for the wedding. But, then when we realised how bad things got and that we could be waiting for ages, we just said 'fuck it' and started trying in August.

We ended up having the tiniest wedding right before lockdown 2.0 with 13 guests. It was actually lovely and I don't regret not rescheduling again. We might have a big party next year, but let's see what happens. We managed to sort a house too and ended up getting the keys two days after our wedding! It was all a bit mental! I don't really advise packing two major life events into one week haha!

In terms of relaxing, I run alot which gets me out of the house into the sunlight and I do the headspace app which is really good. What do you do? You said your OH had a stag do. Did you get to have your wedding?

@SadieSazzle welcome to the group. Agree I think we should all give ourselves a break from expectations in 2021.

x

Annabelle0852 · 04/01/2021 12:31

@Sar1010 Welcome to the cycle gang 😂😂

I'm also using the One Step from Amazon. I definitely peaked yesterday on CD13. Today at CD14 I've had a little bit of back ache and minor cramping this morning but back to normal now. Also has a super weird dizzy spell where I went all shaky (probably nothing more than low blood sugar but symptom spotting like cray). Deffo think OV today.

BD the last two nights and plan today/tomorrow too if OH can keep up!! 😂

I know expecting a miracle on the first month of trying is silly but still got my fingers and toes crossed! 🤞

Sar1010 · 04/01/2021 12:45

@Annabelle0852

Same! Lower back pain throughout the night and very minor ache in stomach.
We have the same planned for today and tomorrow! I am really enjoying this cycle tbh.

Fingers and arms and legs and toes crossed for you!!

Annabelle0852 · 04/01/2021 12:50

@Sar1010 Lot of luck to you!

When do you plan to test or are you strong enough to wait out AF's arrival?! I'm trying to tell myself to be patient and wait to see if AF is late but I'm not sure I'll be able too.

Sar1010 · 04/01/2021 14:05

@Annabelle0852
I haven’t really been testing before AF arrives but I usually can tell a couple of days before that I’m out.
Who knows what will happen this month!
I’m getting married in July and hopefully got some big work commitments in September so if it doesn’t work this month or the next I’m not going to be too hard on myself.

FluffyLittleDragon · 04/01/2021 14:35

I'm completely new to this forum. What does AF & CD mean? I'm trying to understand the abbreviations.

I've been getting quite a bit of back pain mostly in the mornings lately & a few cramps here & there. Nothing to confirm I'm pregnant (yet 🤞🏽). Does anyone know if back pain even occurs in the very early stages or is just age? (I'm 32 🙂).

We postponed our wedding from May 2020 to Oct 2020 with 13 guests & it was an amazing day. Hopefully this year we'll be able to host a party when it's safe to do so 🙂.

Annabelle0852 · 04/01/2021 15:10

@FluffyLittleDragon

CD = Cycle Day and AF = Aunt Flo (period)

This list should help! www.babycentre.co.uk/a25020237/common-fertility-abbreviations-and-acronyms
