It’s that time again, the 5th post-pill thread of ladies who are experiencing the highs and lows (mainly the lows…) of coming off the pill and TTC! Here you’ll find stories of delayed ovulation, crazy long follicular phases, crazy short follicular phases, light AFs, short luteal phases, long luteal phases, confusing temp charts and blindingly white OPKs, to name a few. Join us, won’t you? We're a lovely bunch and we'd love to help you make sense of post-pill life if we can!

@Juno231 chart looks so good! Did you use FRER this morning? Don't forget I didn't get my BFP till 11dpo 😜 if you implanted at 9dpo it wouldn't show up today anyway!

@TheDaydreamBelievers I'm sorry it's taking so long, but it's exciting to think you'll be able to move into OPKs soon hopefully :)

@Emmgrem woohoo for cross hairs!

@ChinChilly no wonder you're exhausted!! Good luck getting it all done haha!

Luna57 · 17/12/2020 11:07

@Cams50 @Juno231 thanks for the reassurance. I’m sure it’s just my hormones messing with me. Glad I’m not dying or anything lol. The sharp pains have eased today but I think it happens at night more. I’m only 7dpo, I’m not holding out for a Christmas bfp I’m just glad my bits are all starting to work again 😂

Juno231 · 17/12/2020 12:56

@Luna57 haha I like your approach!

@LauraT94 it was an IC but should be 10miu so not far off a frer. We'll see what happens tomorrow!

@ChinChilly woop fingers crossed for a peak opk to appear soon 🤞

@Emmgrem yes its a premium thing I'm afraid! Considering I'm on my 7th month of temping I'm certainly getting my money's worth though 🙊

ChinChilly · 17/12/2020 13:00

@LauraT94 honestly I can’t catch a break at the moment, I’ve had this gross cough for 3 weeks (not covid) but it keeps me up most of the night 🙄 atleast all the hectic-ness will keep my mind off TTC

Nellieee · 17/12/2020 13:58

Oh @Juno231. Really hope it's a BFP!! Chart is progressing nicely.

@Kay00 I have had a small bit of EWCM. I can't actually reach my cervix (small hands 😂), so unsure of its position 🤷‍♀️. Has AF shown up? I actually had spotting for five days before my last proper period, so didn't count it as CD1 as I had a five day period after that. But think if it was the one odd day either side I'd class it as part of your P.

@Luna57 hi there! I can't really add anything insightful for you, but might it turn out to be implantation? So annoying that the symptoms are so similar to PMS.

@Cams50 it's an odd sensation, isn't it? I hope it was ovulation as I'm now doubting myself. Waiting for a temp rise tomorrow.

@TheDaydreamBelievers sorry about your results. Hope they are back down soon.

@Emmgrem good luck for your TWW!!

@ChinChilly I find OPKs a bit of a minefield for me. I never seem to catch a strong peak. CD13 here too and hopping on OH like a mad woman 😂 Hope all goes ok with your blood tests tomorrow 🙂

ChinChilly · 17/12/2020 15:39

I feel like I’ve got ovulation cramps on my right side but not even a high reading on OPKs since CD10 now CD13 🤔

Luna57 · 17/12/2020 17:18

@Nellieee the pain has finally stopped but was met by actually cramping now. My hips and even legs are sore. I think I’m gonna take AF soon- my nipples aren’t as sore anymore, I would get very sensitive nipples from day of ovulation to AF. Hoping she stays away so I haven’t such a short LP.

It’s such a relief to finally be able to talk to people about symptoms and not feel crazy. I’m from NI and our government is just going into a meeting about further lockdowns just after Christmas now. I’m due to get married 5 days after the proposed lockdown ends so can’t wait for the added stress of that now lol

LauraT94 · 17/12/2020 18:17

@Juno231 ooh I think my ICs were the 25 ones! So took a bit longer to show up. FRER and CB early one gave the clearest answer for me.

@ChinChilly oh no! Coughs can take so long to disappear. My mum always swears by a few small sips of port before bed for a bad cough. I still do it now! Sounds like ovulation might be on its way for you?

I've had a bit of a shit day to be honest. Had a bleed this morning at 11.30 and a bit more spotting through the day. Had a telephone triage with EPU this eve and they say all sounds normal and sounds like implantation bleeding (I didn't realise but apparently that can happen up to 8 weeks!). But they did finish off the convo with 'we can't promise it won't progress into a MC'. Which of course I understand, and have been thinking all day. But I'm kind of consoling myself that if I do MC, there's literally nothing that can be done at this stage! Feeling ok this eve, just cramping and feeling a bit shaken - definitely a bump back down to reality!

ChinChilly · 17/12/2020 18:22

@LauraT94 3 days time according to premom!

Oh no, I’m sure spotting early on is normal, keeping everything crossed for you!

AMS19 · 17/12/2020 18:35

@LauraT94 I had spotting at 5+5 and 5+6. Not much but when I wiped. Maybe 4 times in total. I felt so deflated. Anyway went for a scan the following week 6+6 and all was fine and I saw a little heartbeat. They could see the bleed on the scan. Floating around! Came off when the baby snuggled in more. They told me the bleed would either pass or get absorbed. I'm 9+1 today and haven't had anymore bleeding so far 🤞🤞 when I did hours and hours of research it seemed spotting between 5-8 weeks is super normal, happens in 20-30% of pregnancies. So whilst nothing is guaranteed it is HIGHLY likely everything is fine

Everyone else - I'm reading everyday and keeping everything crossed for you all xx

Cams50 · 17/12/2020 19:26

@Juno231 that chart looks amazing! And so many people say that didn’t get their bfp for ages so fingers crossed.

@LauraT94 aw that must have been so worrying but by the sounds of it is totally normal. Fingers crossed everything is ok. Can you get an early scan I wonder?

ChinChilly · 17/12/2020 19:39

@AMS19 how are you? I sometimes wonder how you and you little bean are! Wow 9 weeks already!

AMS19 · 17/12/2020 19:44

Aww thanks @ChinChilly I'm okay. I have my private scan on Monday so really hoping little bean is still okay in there and has caught up a bit growth wise. The nausea and sickness isn't fun but also reassuring. It is an incredibly anxious and scary time. Desperate to get to 12 weeks so I can try and relax a little bit -who- -am- -I- -kidding-

How you going? Still been watching everyone's journies closely ❤

ChinChilly · 17/12/2020 19:53

@AMS19 that’s exciting about your scan, I get the anxiety though I know I’m go to be a total anxious Annie 😂

Yeah I’m okay thanks! Super busy at the moment so looking forward to a break over Christmas! Fairly certain I had a CP last cycle but as i refused to test early I guess I’ll never really know! I had some routine blood tests last month that showed my thyroid at 4.4 so I’ve got a phone consultation with my doctor tomorrow morning but I think shes going to fob my off as it is still in the normal range but not ideal for TTC which may also explain the suspected CP last cycle

LauraT94 · 17/12/2020 20:09

@ChinChilly ooh not long! And thanks :)

@AMS19 ah thank you so much! That really helps! I've got my scan on Tuesday at 6+1 so hopefully we see something 🤞🏻 so pleased everything is going well for you!

@Cams50 yes fingers crossed it is all just normal spotting! I've got a scan on Tuesday so not long now 🥰

AMS19 · 17/12/2020 20:11

@ChinChilly yes I remember. I was so sure you were pregnant, I think it may well have been. As hard as it is try and take a positive that you fell. Definitely good progress. Got everything crossed for you for the GP. There seems to be lots you can do to manage it down a bit naturally too? Definitely worth testing early next cycle just in case xx

Kay00 · 17/12/2020 20:12

@luna57 - Welcome!!

@nellieee yes, AF here in full flow today, so im CD3 and not much exciting going on... in fact nothing exciting will likely happen this side of crimbo so im going to drink and eat and have hot warm baths to my hearts (and stomach's) delight! 😋

@chinchilly good luck in your consultation tomorrow 🤞 I had my bloods taken today and should get the results on Monday

@laurat94 as the other ladies has said I have read its really normal for some spotting in early pregnancy, heres hoping its just normal and nothing to worry about 💕

@juno231 I hope you get another temp rise tomorrow!! If you do are you going to wait and test with a FRER on the weekend?

😆😆 I sat down next to OH a couple of hours ago and said 'do you think next Christmas we'll a) have a baby b) i'll be pregnant or c) we'll still be trying, but before I could finish option c) he shouted 'c) be happy!!! 😆😆 which he found hilarious 🤣 I was more deadpan: 😑😑😑

AMS19 · 17/12/2020 20:17

@LauraT94 good luck. I'm sure all will be beautiful xx

ChinChilly · 17/12/2020 20:18

@LauraT94 let us know how you scan goes!!

@AMS19 I’ve got some sensitive ICs now so I’m definitely going to test early from now on! Yeah there are definitely things you can do naturally and I think that is the road I’ll have to go down as it is still classed as normal they won’t treat it! I’m going to push her though for some tests and stuff, may add a couple of months on to how long we’ve been TTC 😬

@Kay00 hope you results come back with some good news! I’ve just tried to enjoy a bath...epic fail the dog came bulldozing in trying to eat the bubbles and get in...lasted all of 20 minutes 🙄

Kay00 · 17/12/2020 20:25

@chinchilly haha!! Silly doggy 😆😆😆 when I'm in the bath my greyhounds become quite distressed and look at me great pity 😁🤣

ChinChilly · 17/12/2020 20:30

@Kay00 if OH is here he really isn’t bothered but I think he thought the bubbles were attacking me he started barking at them 😂 ahh bless them I do wonder what they are thinking sometimes

Juno231 · 17/12/2020 20:32

@Kay00 love hearing about your greyhounds, I'm still debating getting one :) I'd only resort to a FRER if I got a faint line on an IC I think - otherwise not much point wasting it 🙊

@LauraT94 I'll echo what everyone else said that bleeding is super common in the first trimester ❤️. Keep us updated.

@Ams19 so glad all is well with you. How's the nausea so far for you?

Saw this post on reddit and it hit home lol, that's def me 😅

AMS19 · 17/12/2020 20:38

@ChinChilly definitely push for tests but good to also do whatever you can to help. If last month was a CP then that is a great starting point to work of. I have good vibes for you!

@Juno231 definitely annoying but definitely bearable! It comes in waves, sometimes I feel fine other times feel pretty rubbish. I'm doing lots of retching in the mornings 🤢😂 but honestly I'm genuinely just happy to get this far and long may it continue! It is all totally doable and helps wfh!

ChinChilly · 17/12/2020 20:45

Thanks @AMS19 please keep is updated as your pregnancy goes ❤️

Nellieee · 17/12/2020 22:27

@LauraT94 I have also read it is very common. My best friend is pregnant and had it in the first trimester too. I imagine it is very scary and worrying. Maybe have a mini pamper weekend to relax your mind.

@Kay00 haha that's funny. I keep saying that too "this time next year". Isn't it crazy really? At least you are able to get AF out the way for lots of Christmas drinking and fun 🤪

@Luna57 it is helpful having everyone here to chat to. We've not told anyone we are TTC, so it is a small comfort for sure. Will you test soon if AF doesn't come?
