It’s that time again, the 5th post-pill thread of ladies who are experiencing the highs and lows (mainly the lows…) of coming off the pill and TTC! Here you’ll find stories of delayed ovulation, crazy long follicular phases, crazy short follicular phases, light AFs, short luteal phases, long luteal phases, confusing temp charts and blindingly white OPKs, to name a few. Join us, won’t you? We're a lovely bunch and we'd love to help you make sense of post-pill life if we can!

@Kay00 your chart looks great ☺️ And wine/Christmas tree sounds so lovely! We’re not getting one as we are still up in the air as to where we will be over Christmas with the potential move. We’ve sold our sofa so I’m sat on a futon surrounded by boxes 😆

ChinChilly · 11/12/2020 22:08

@MintGreenLife @Kay00 thanks both, you’ve calmed my nerves! Fingers crossed for your tests next week! I think I may have a few mainly gluten free slip ups before xmas but if I can manage a mainly GF diet until new year I’ll be happy!

@Kay00 thats also good to hear about other women still getting pregnant! I have to say I’m abit of an over-reacter! I felt like I’d virtually been branded as infertile at the time! This is the only place I can properly vent, OH doesn’t really get it and only one of my friends knows we are TTC and she is currently pregnant so I don’t want to offload onto her 😕

ChinChilly · 11/12/2020 22:10

@Kay00 your chart does look good though!

@Moocher90 definitely let us know how you get on!

@MintGreenLife don’t envy you there, atleast next Christmas will be extra special!

MintGreenLife · 11/12/2020 22:13

@ChinChilly that’s true ☺️ By the way Asda are good for gluten free alternatives - I’ve already sorted a click and collect (although will have to cancel if we do move 🤦🏻‍♀️) with gluten free stuffing and pigs in blankets x

ChinChilly · 11/12/2020 22:16

@MintGreenLife I saw somethint about Asda price matching there gluten free stuff! Im going against the grain here but I can’t stand pigs in blankets 😂😂 M&S do some really good accidently GF sausages called posh dogs, bit on the expensive side but they are delicious!

Kay00 · 11/12/2020 22:19

@mintgreenlife... this is the first time i have put up any decorations in this house... and I have been here three years 😆🙈 its just such a building site!

@chinchilly yes, please vent! My OH doesn't get it either... I get very little sympathy from him even when I'm in so much pain I can barely walk and too exhausted with it to even drag myself to bed (both last night 🙄), so when I mentioned the TSH levels he just rolled his eyes at me 😑😑😑

MintGreenLife · 11/12/2020 22:34

@ChinChilly I’m definitely partial to a pig I’m blanket on Christmas Day 💕

@Kay00 well that must feel like quite a milestone! If we do get into the new house before Christmas we may try and get a last minute tree 🤞🏼

MintGreenLife · 11/12/2020 22:42

*pig in blanket!

Juno231 · 11/12/2020 23:23

@ChinChilly I need to lose 1,5-2 stone as well! Totally on board with cracking down post crimbo @Robyn101 and anyone else I missed.

I'm also happy to join the rest of you on a tsh lowering diet lol. Been having my daily Brazil nuts, cut down dairy and been having floradix to improve my iron levels since I read that can have an effect on TTC.

On my other bus I've been on since Feb, a lady that's been TTC for 16 cycles with super irregular cycles just got a super strong BFP so that gives me hope!

Kay00 · 11/12/2020 23:36

@juno231 that's wonderful news, you must all be thrilled! 🤩 Pass on our congratulations!

My iron levels have been low for a while (I give blood regularly and on a few occasions I have been turned away because my levels were too low... but not anaemic)... so ill look into floradix too 😊

Found this quite interesting and of note

The evidence points towards benefit in treating SCH (subclinical hormones) with levothyroxine when the TSH is greater than 10 milliunits per litre (mu/L). For milder forms (TSH between the upper limit of normal and 10), the benefit is either marginal or none, except in pregnant women or women who are trying to conceive. For this reason current guidelines recommend treating SCH if the TSH is greater than 10 or in milder forms in women who are pregnant or plan a pregnancy. In the remainder of cases, a trial of levothyroxine may be justified if the patient has symptoms. Doctors frequently come across patients with severe symptoms such as fatigue who in the course of investigations for the cause of fatigue are found to have SCH. It is tempting to latch on to SCH as the explanation for the symptoms and expect a cure with thyroid hormone treatment. More often than not, treatment is disappointing, not because thyroid hormones are useless, but because the symptoms are not due to the thyroid.

Moocher90 · 11/12/2020 23:42

Subclinical hypothyroidism. Not hormones

Moocher90 · 11/12/2020 23:46

Saw this flow chart for hypothyroidism

Very interesting, thank you @moocher90

ChinChilly · 11/12/2020 23:55

@Kay00 my OH is normally pretty good but he doesn’t get the jargon...he can be dismissive about the whole TTC sometimes I don’t think they realise how hard it is!

@Juno231 well that gives us all hope, definitely pass on our congratulations

I think will be the TTC/weight loss/TSH lowering party in the new year! 😂

@Moocher90 that’s really interessting, thanks for finding and posting it!

Moocher90 · 11/12/2020 23:59

This one is a bit more easy to read

Juno231 · 12/12/2020 08:02

@Moocher90 thank you! I feel like I read all those previously but find them quite inconclusive/vague or contradictory. Like I can't wrap my head around it!

Check out the difference in temps for me between this cycle so far and last cycle. So much higher this time!

ChinChilly · 12/12/2020 08:18

@Juno231 I agree there I can’t wrap my head around it, were you TSH levels ok?

Ooo that chart looks good! 🤞🏼

Kay00 · 12/12/2020 08:26

@juno231 wow! Impressive temps. Are you waking up feeling like you had a hot nights sleep? I am 😂 and my temps were only as high as yours were in your last cycle.

Im going to test again today... just with an IC, and just for fun. Is there a reason we use FMU? I tend to wee before bed (11pm ish), then get up in the middle of the night (around 2am) then doing go again until 11am... is my 11am wee ok for testing?

LauraT94 · 12/12/2020 08:38

@Kay00 I think it's just because it's naturally your longest hold so more chance of concentrated HCG levels? Could be wrong! But you naturally wouldn't hold for 8-12 hours in the day, whereas you would overnight. I reckon your 11am one would be fine!

ChinChilly · 12/12/2020 08:52

I think I’m going to start the seven sea’s trying for baby supplements some people label them as miracle tablets! Something else popped up on my bloody tests that showed I didn’t have enough b12 or folic acid so definitely need to sort that out aswell.

MintGreenLife · 12/12/2020 08:53

@Kay00 think 11am pee would be fine ☺️ Like you I always get up in the night, usually around 4am as I’m now programmed to wake up then from taking my bbt, even though I stopped a few weeks ago now 😂 I was testing at around 8.30am after peeing at 4am, so only a 4ish hour hold. Think 11am is good, as long as you’re not drinking loads between waking up and then xx

Cams50 · 12/12/2020 09:10

@Juno231 and @Kay00 wow both charts are looking great! Keeping my fingers crossed for you both 🤞🏻😃

Kay00 · 12/12/2020 09:32

@mintgreenlife... no, just a cuppa 😊

@cams50 thank you, unfortunately another bfn this morning. I also had a hint of pmt cramps which I get a few days before AF arrives so, I expect thats the way this cycle is going.

Cams50 · 12/12/2020 09:36

@Kay00 aw I’m sorry 😞 you’re still not definitely out but I certainly know the feeling. I’m on cycle 8 now. Fingers crossed for new year bfps for us all. Hopefully you can have a relaxing Christmas if af does arrive eating all the yummy food!
