It’s that time again, the 5th post-pill thread of ladies who are experiencing the highs and lows (mainly the lows…) of coming off the pill and TTC! Here you’ll find stories of delayed ovulation, crazy long follicular phases, crazy short follicular phases, light AFs, short luteal phases, long luteal phases, confusing temp charts and blindingly white OPKs, to name a few. Join us, won’t you? We're a lovely bunch and we'd love to help you make sense of post-pill life if we can!

I’m vowing to lose weight in the new year too so I’d be happy to join the crew

Kinda just leaving everything in December so I can enjoy the holidays just temping in a morning and occasional OPK

There’s not a lot I can do really until AF makes an appearance

Cams50 · 11/12/2020 19:07

Well I feel like I’ve just got this post-pill acne 😫 there’s so many consequences coming off the pill which they just don’t tell you about! I think some of you have experienced this. Did anyone do anything in particular to help it?

ChinChilly · 11/12/2020 19:11

@Moocher90 it could be and I feel like GPs just dismiss and post pill issues as anythint to do with the pill which is frustrating! I’ve got a consultation with the GP on Friday so I’ll ask the question! A whole week to wait! Arghhh
I kind of wish I hadn’t chased them up this afternoon I feel like its put a downer on the weekend!

Moocher90 · 11/12/2020 19:14

@ChinChilly I know it feels long to wait but at least your app is booked and u are doing something proactive! X

TheDaydreamBelievers · 11/12/2020 19:28

@Cams50 just time! Unfortunately MC is making it awful all over again! It got better with time after coming off the pill.

I'd definitely be up for a weight loss and health kick in the new year

Cams50 · 11/12/2020 19:52

@TheDaydreamBelievers thanks. I thought you might’ve say time but was hoping for a quick fix 🤣

Aw sorry that the mc is making it worse 😔

And yes I’d also be very up for a health kick!

Kay00 · 11/12/2020 19:57

🙋‍♀️ count me in for some weight loss too! I am a solid 10 stone and bulging out of my jeans, so could do with loosing half a stone.

Ladies... im was so upset lol 😆 I had the chance to visit my office yesterday (it has been physically closed since March) and I bumped into a colleague who looked down (at my belly) and gasped in excitement! She said '...are you'?? 🙈🙈🙈 how embarrassing!! I said 'noooo... its just mince pies... unfortunately' 😭😆😭😆 she looked like she wanted the earth to swallow her up 🤣 i wouldn't have minded but im not actually damn pregnant!!

Sperr · 11/12/2020 20:05

I’m ready for a health kick too! I’ve eaten so much rubbish for a month! I’m definitely going to be a new year new me person 😂.

@Kay00 that’s so awful! I bet she was so embarrassed!!

AF has definitely arrived - if it’s light do I count today as CD1? This cycle I’m going to get the clear blue OPK and go for it in my last fertile week of the year. Looking forward to lots of Christmas wine and Prosecco 😂🍷🍾

Kay00 · 11/12/2020 20:17

@sperr oh no 👎 if its more than spotting or very very light then mark as day one. Or you could hold off and see what tomorrow brings.

Sperr · 11/12/2020 20:38

@Kay00 definitely day one 🤣. I had my one chilled out month - now I’m going to get OH vitamins and get on OPK. Clearblue is on sale in Superdrug as well so that’s another win haha

ChinChilly · 11/12/2020 20:55

@Kay00 I bet she felt more embarrassed then you!

I’m on a massive debbie downer now with the whole TTC thing, I’m just thinking what’s the point, I’ve got no chance with TSH levels that high! Just had a massive cry and feeling hugely overwhelmed at the moment! Probs a combination of things but yeah I don’t see any point of even tracking anything at the moment

MintGreenLife · 11/12/2020 20:55

@ChinChilly hmm that doesn’t sound right re the stone weight loss! Like you say your size should be perfectly healthy xx

ChinChilly · 11/12/2020 20:57

@MintGreenLife the NHS recommends that my weight should be between 7 and half stone - 9 and a half...I’d look like a corpse if i was 7 and a half stone

MintGreenLife · 11/12/2020 21:01

@ChinChilly just saw your latest message, so sorry you’re feeling so rubbish. You’re TSH is only slightly elevated, so don’t panic. I know I felt pretty crap when I got my result back and started to look into things, but I think being proactive and learning how I could improve it myself really helped xx

ChinChilly · 11/12/2020 21:19

@MintGreenLife thanks, I think I have gone into a blind panic, I’m not sure where to even start with it all!

Moocher90 · 11/12/2020 21:28

@ChinChilly my TSH is 8.89 :( I’m at a loss however I’ve done all I can do for now until my blood results come back

ChinChilly · 11/12/2020 21:32

@Moocher90 have you been advised on anything to do to improve it?

MintGreenLife · 11/12/2020 21:32

@ChinChilly well if it helps at all, all I did was: started taking a daily selenium supplement, cut out gluten (easier than you might think) and dairy, but that was to help with my IBS more than TSH

ChinChilly · 11/12/2020 21:39

@MintGreenLife I think i could manage cutting out gluten, it would take some getting used to but it would fine, I would struggle with dairy! I’ve got some brazil nuts to help with the selenium! I’m going to cut right down on caffeine with the idea to cut it out completely in the new year and im going to start with cutting out the gluten straight away and see what happens

MintGreenLife · 11/12/2020 21:51

@ChinChilly I went caffeine free this year and am going to continue through pregnancy. I don’t think dairy is linked to high TSH, so you probably wouldn’t need to worry about that so much ☺️ That sounds like a great plan and I’m sure it’ll help xx

Kay00 · 11/12/2020 21:55

@chinchilly I have my nhs blood test for TSH amd other base hormones next week. Im then.going to start a daily selenium and iodine supplement and after crimbo go gluten free ... then retest through letsgetchecked in Feb/Mar.

Kay00 · 11/12/2020 21:57

@chinchilly as mint said, I also felt really upset the day I got my results but talking to my doctor helped and I read about lots of women who still got pregnant with slightly raised TSH levels. Hopefully that helps xx

Kay00 · 11/12/2020 22:00

Im 10DPO, temps are still going strong, two BFN so far (im testing just for the hell of it) but not even a little excited about what could be... im even drinking a very small glass of wine whilst I put the Christmas decorations up 🤶🌲

@ChinChilly waiting for my results of blood test! 8.89 was through let’s get checked. I think NHS treat underactive thyroid if it’s over 10.... as they see it as subclinical however I shall let you know once I get my nhs blood test results
