AF is definitely on the way 😒 late but on the way. I had bright pink spotting yesterday and my RHR went down by two this morning and my cramps are horrendous. So. Another month bites the dust I guess!

@eloiseislost ooh that thermometer sounds fancy. I probably need a new one lol. I hope AF isn't on the way for you but my RHR is never wrong when it goes down 🙁 I wonder if I'd be better off not wearing it at the end of the tww.

@Sydney1986x welcome 😊 Goodluck for this cycle. Fingers crossed for you.

eloiseislost · 28/12/2020 09:07

@MrsKin90 I'm so sorry to hear that, I do hope it's not true, but I know exactly how you feel. Sometimes you just know it's AF. 😔 Take care of yourself, be kind to yourself, it's another step in the journey even though it now feels like a disaster. New year, new hope in a few days! 💗

I'm feeling absolutely terrible today, fatigued, nauseous and achy and my RHR has shot up to 86 from 70 yesterday! I wish these were a "good signs" but, at 7DPO, it's more likely I'm coming down with a bug or something. 🤒

This is the thermometer I was considering: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07S3VG2LH/ref=cmswwrcppapifabcc69z6Fb41A7TMQ?encoding=UTF8&psc=1
I have no real need for it, but buying things I don't need is how I cope since the pandemic started! 🤣

MrsKin90 · 28/12/2020 09:32

@eloiseislost I didn't realise you weren't further into the tww when I was banging on about dips in rhr 😂 an increase now can be a good sign! 😊 Sorry you're feeling rough. Hopefully all for good reasons?! Fingers tightly crossed.

I'm okay 😊 I'll be upset for a bit when AF starts properly but I already know she's on the way. It's been a rough year and It's my mum's birthday this week so I've got enough emotional things going on without getting upset about AF. My friend also has her first baby scan this week...
Thank you for your lovely kindness as always.

That thermometer looks amazing 😂
I was considering getting an "intimina Ziggy cup" though, which is like a reusable soft disc? Although it looks a bit bigger. 🤔

eloiseislost · 28/12/2020 09:46

@MrsKin90 Sometimes it helps to have other things to think about before/during AF, sometimes it makes it worse. I find it varies from cycle to cycle and the circumstances. Sending some positive vibes your way, they probably won't make a difference really but I'm thinking of you. 💜

I didn't know about the intima ziggy cup, it looks perfect for TTC! In my experience, no matter how big these things look, they fit fine once they are in! Have you tried soft discs before?
The rim on this may be softer than soft discs, so maybe it's slightly bigger to ensure a tight seal?
I'm intrigued! Though the idea of having to clean it after each use… 🤢 On the other hand, the environment! 🌲🐝🌺

MrsKin90 · 28/12/2020 10:32

Positive vibes are always welcome 😊😊
According to my Fitbit, I died in the night as it didn't record a heart rate for over an hour 😂 so it could be worse.
I've not tried soft discs but I use a menstrual cup during AF anyway, so I am used to the messy cleaning 😳😂 It's getting it in the right place I worry about!
I've just had an emotional breakdown about my weight being so out of control. If I wasn't sure AF was coming I know for sure now! 😆

primrosechill · 28/12/2020 10:57

@MrsKin90 sorry to hear about your RHR dip! And sending you big hugs on your mum’s birthday - must be hard. My BBT dipped this morning too so any last bits of hope that I had of the cramping/spotting being a sign of implantation are officially gone. I just want AF to show up now to get on with it - I have an exciting day of sitting on a couch doing absolutely nothing planned for her 😆

@eloiseislost hope you’re not coming down with something nasty - take care! Back lit thermometer sounds amazing - I always take my temperature when it’s still dark in the room and end up needing to shine my phone light on it (and waking up/irritating the crap out of my husband 😂)

Makingnumber2 · 28/12/2020 13:48

@MrsKin90 sorry about your RHR- I never know what;s worse, getting the heads up early that it isn't a BFP this cycle or finding out at end of the tww. Either way feels pretty shit tbh. Sending you hugs- sounds like it's an emotional time for you at the moment, so just be kind to yourself and take one day at a time (or even 1 hour at a time if you're feeling really overwhelmed). I think of a positive note you can consider yourself a walking miracle because you died for an hour overnight and rose again.... (JC might have some competition here I think!)
@eloiseislost hope you aren't being struck down with a lurgy - there's so much of it going about at the moment. Get on the Zinc and Vitamin C and rest up!

Sydney1986x · 28/12/2020 17:56

Hey all,

Thanks for the welcomes Smile happy to be joining you all!

I’ve read through all the posts & have to say I did LOL at the hip thrusting and moving about with legs in the air... I was doing this myself this morning and before reading I thought ‘I’ve officially lost it Grin’ so glad to know I am not the only one!

So we DTD this morning first time SI, went ok I think! Did feel like a bit of a military operation but think we just felt panicked and trying to remember all the steps. I must have watched a YouTube video explaining it all at least 10 times!!

Can I ask how long you stay with legs up for? Mine were up for about 40 mins and I then used the ferti-lily conception cup to help keep the goods in place lol.. but when I removed it felt like everything came out?! Blush wondering if
I didn’t sit for long enough? We used pre seed but also heard good things about conceive plus?

Fingers crossed.. although not expecting a miracle in the first month. We will keep trying daily throughout my fertile window- luckily I’m off work until 5th Jan so have the time and energy! I don’t do temping, but use the ovulation sticks and my app. I also know due to CM too (sorry TMI!).

xxx

eloiseislost · 28/12/2020 18:52

@primrosechill @Makingnumber2 Thank you, I hope it's not COVID! 😱 I get tested routinely twice a week because of my job at least.

@Sydney1986x You did nothing wrong, stuff is supposed to come out. See, what you need is the sperm and these are tiny, can't see them with the naked eye. They are inside the semen, so when you SI, the semen stays in your vagina (it's supposed to, if it went past your cervix, it could cause serious infection -this is why your cervix is very selective about what it lets in 🤣). So when you stand up, no matter how long after SI, the semen will always leak out. But rest assured, that the good swimmers have made their way inside their cervix almost instantly after SI. Doesn't hurt to lie down for half an hour after, with legs up if you want, just to give some more time to the slower but keen ones! I hope this makes sense, I know it's all new and confusing!

Sydney1986x · 28/12/2020 19:02

Thanks @eloiseislost that’s very reassuring!! Im sorry to hear you’re feeling poorly too.. Fingers crossed you start feeling better very soon xx

Makingnumber2 · 28/12/2020 19:09

That’s good you get tested regularly for it @eloiseislost- my sister is same for her job.
I would like regular testing in my job (teacher) but remains to be seen whether government can actually
Give schools a sensible plan of action for delivering regular testing in schools for those that want it! I will be delighted once it’s eventually accessible though.

@Sydney1986x congrats on your first SI! Don’t worry I felt like an utter lunatic lying on back for 40 mins with legs in air and also when syringing in a way that I felt best
Emulated ejaculation Grin
We also did SI every day of FW (bar one day) so here’s hoping that
Gives us a decent chance for this month eh?! Hope the rest of
Your SIs go well Smile

DinkBoo · 29/12/2020 08:35

Hello all!

Apologies for my extended abscence from the thread (I have a lot of catching up to do).

Sadly I'm back with a crappy update, as I miscarried over Christmas day and boxing day (yay 2020!). Sitting around waiting to go to the hospital for the follow up scan, today was going to be my booking in appointment with the midwife.

Makingnumber2 · 29/12/2020 08:38

Oh @DinkBoo I am so sorry to hear this. What a truly shit year 2020 has been. Sending you a hug Flowers

Sydney1986x · 29/12/2020 09:59

Thanks @Makingnumber2 Smile !!

@DinkBoo I am so sorry to hear that, sending you a big virtual hug x

primrosechill · 29/12/2020 10:21

@DinkBoo I am so so sorry to hear about that - what an absolute dreadful timing (not that there is ever a good time). How are you feeling? Hope the physical symptoms go away quickly and as far as your mental wellbeing goes, hope you have your loved ones and some good distractions around you xxx

Bluey18 · 29/12/2020 10:28

I'm so sorry @DinkBoo Flowers

DinkBoo · 29/12/2020 10:29

Thanks everyone!

@primrosechill sadly we're in tier 3, so just me and dh. We'd decided to stay home alone for Christmas to minimise covid risk, so on the plus side everything was managed at home, with just a couple of calls to the EPU. Hopefully today will show that no intervention is needed and dh isn't so traumatised he never comes near me again. Confused

primrosechill · 29/12/2020 11:17

@DinkBoo it's heartbreaking how common MCs are. I totally know what you mean about your DH - after we found out that my hubby's morphology is a bit below average, he managed to convince himself it was 100% his fault I miscarried earlier in the year... when it fact there is so much we still don't know about MC's and a million reasons why they might happen to any one person.

I hope your appointment goes well - let us know how you get on. I'm so sorry that you're ending this already rubbish year like that but maybe in a way it's poetic - let's leave all the shittiness this side of January 1st and hope for a kinder 2021

Lori23TTC · 29/12/2020 11:49

@DinkBoo I’m so sorry to hear this 😞 sending you lots of love I can’t imagine how you feel lovely xxx

eloiseislost · 29/12/2020 11:51

@DinkBoo I'm so, so very sorry, words can't describe. This was the last thing I wanted to read. I wish you a healthy recovery and I hope you find strength in this awful situation. 😢

I'm spotting today which I never have in the past, so I think AF is on her way, very early but I guess it's to be expected that things won't run like clockwork a few weeks after the MC. I feel so desperate and devastated today, like I am reliving the whole thing. Just when I thought I was over it. 😞

I won't let it get me down though, I choose to remain optimistic about 2021. "There are always flowers for those who want to see them" a good friend of mine says. 💐

MrsKin90 · 29/12/2020 12:58

@DinkBoo I'm so sorry for you and your DH. How devastating. Sending you lots of love and hugs to you both. I hope everything is as "easy" as possible for you 🙁 what an absolute shit time of year for it to happen. Xxx

@primrosechill I absolutely agree. Let's leave all the shit in 2020!

If 2020 was a book it would be the kind where you have to keep flipping back pages because you've missed some horrific thing because there's so much going on and you give in and skip to the end just to see that everything turns out okay 😕

@eloiseislost it is good to be positive, and look forward to a brighter future. I'm sorry you're spotting 🙁 is there any chance it isn't AF? I think it was you who said you like the saying "this too shall pass"? Because I've adopted it as my life-mantra and have said it about everything, every day since ❤️

I still haven't properly started AF. Lots of pink yesterday but just spotting. Still spotting today. AF is definitely coming but just taking the piss.
Oh oh! Did anyone know that TESCO do their own brand of "conception gel applicators"?! £10 for 7 😱😱😬 I'm going to give them a go this cycle (when it eventually gets here) along with my Ziggy cup. I will await an allergic reaction in my fantango as I'm sensitive to the conceive plus gel (JK, I don't call it a fantango but it makes me lol so I'm sharing it) and will feedback!! I have already spent £40 on this next cycle. 😱😬

primrosechill · 29/12/2020 13:22

@eloiseislost sorry to hear that you’re having a bit of an emotional time but it’s completely understandable - things are still fresh in the grand scheme of things! I will echo MrsKin and ask: Is there any chance this is something other than period? Could it be implantation?

@MrsKin90 sorry AF is dragging out - she seems to be in a festive slumber, eh?! My body is acting SUPER strange this cycle too: i’m 13dpo, my temp has been low the last two days (below cover line today) but still no period. I also have a lot of ew discharge and a lot of acne (joy!) It’s CD26 for me and I havent had a cycle longer than 25 days since my MC (so almost 9 months). I am so perplexed: the acne and BBT clearly points to AF but it has been dragging out SO much and the discharge is so unusual for this time in the cycle that of course I started clinging onto some hope now 😩🙄

eloiseislost · 29/12/2020 14:21

@MrsKin90 I'll steal that analogy with the book, it's so accurate!!
This too shall pass indeed, if you think about it, for every single bad day in our lives, there is an equally good one. Not immediately following, but eventually it comes. :)

@primrosechill Trying to stay positive, but this cycle has been seriously f##ed up -which should not really be a surprise I suppose. According to BBT I ovulated on the 18th, but I didn't get a positive OPK until that very day and, to make matters even more confusing, I had two equally big temperature shifts on the 19th and 22th. EWCM I had from the 17th-21st but I take guaifenesin so it's not a reliable indicator. FF says I ovulated on the 21st, Femometer app says I ovulated on the 18th. I am either 8DPO or 11DPO. My luteal phase is 12 days and I've never had any spotting before or after AF, but I assume that there may be small quantities of tissue left in the uterus from the pregnancy that will get flushed out with AF. I feel exactly the same way I feel every time AF arrives: cramps, backache, achy legs, headache, greasy hair. I had none of these symptoms when I was actually pregnant, so I am not confident at all that this is implantation bleeding. Sorry for the long rant about my crazy cycle!

Oh well, off to Amazon I go for a fancy thermometer, more soft cups, Conceive+ lube, vitamins and OPKs. 115£ for this next cycle! My DH will kill me. LOOOL!

DinkBoo · 29/12/2020 15:34

I'll avoid tagging everyone individually cause frankly my brain is not up to it, but know that I really appreciate you all, hope everyone struggling finds an easier path soon, and wish only the best things for us all in 2021 Wine Cake Flowers

Complete natural miscarriage was confirmed pretty quickly during ultrasound, and nothing of any concern spotted, so that is all good news, as these things go.

The advice from the follow up chat was basically summed up in it happens loads, it's not a bad sign, and whatever you do relax above all.

The easiest and hardest advice of all to follow Wink

primrosechill · 29/12/2020 18:53

Well, a few hours after I wrote that I was starting to feel some hope, AF showed up - of course she did, the mean b*h that she is! She loves laughing in our faces, doesn't she.

So I sadly won't be a poster child for IUI - looks like our first attempt has failed. We will certainly give it another go but probably not in this cycle due to covid restrictions - back to SI this cycle it is. Feeling quite drained at the moment. I'm thinking after months of being reasonable and healthy I might choose get absolutely plastered on champagne (errr, prosecco!) this NYE.
