Roll up, roll up, it’s time for a new thread for the ladies who are experiencing the highs and lows (mainly the lows…) of coming off the pill and TTC! Here you’ll find stories of delayed ovulation, crazy long follicular phases, crazy short follicular phases, light AFs, short luteal phases, long luteal phases, confusing temp charts and blindingly white OPKs, to name a few. This our 4th thread (I think!) and we've had a few ladies get their BFP recently which is so exciting! Join us, won’t you?

Welcome back:

Peak reading was definitely earlier on today, managed to DTD before OH left for work, will DTD again tomorrow and hope for the best 🤞🏼

@MintGreenLife I did have a US yes - and bear in mind they do it for pregnant ladies all the time so totally safe for any potential fetuses! The stick stays in foof area so nowhere near any implantation disruptive places and it's totally pain free so not like it will cause cramps that could dislodge anything. You'll be fine and the US technician will be able to tell you/confirm which side you've ovulated from as well :)

And yes you can see all your test results, previous check ups etc - so when I had my day 3 and day 21 tests done I got access so I could see all the individual results instead of them fobbing me off with an "it's fine" comment, seeing as I don't always trust them lol.

I've done all the fertility tests a GP can do now, ie day 3, 21, US and OH had an SA so next step is a referral to a fertility clinic. It could take months to come through so I'm getting ball rolling now as I'm only 2 weeks off cycle 12 anyway.

MintGreenLife · 17/11/2020 16:39

@Juno231 Thanks for the info :) I've rebooked it for in a few weeks now as couldn't really do this weekend, but would have moved things around if the wait time was any longer.

Ahh interesting! I will have to look into the NHS app then.

Well that's sensible. I really hope it doesn't take too long for them to refer you, but also hope there's no need for a referral in the end! xx

ChinChilly · 17/11/2020 19:48

Glad you got the appointment rearranged @MintGreenLife

Not sure what is going on here looks like my OPKs are on the rise again..wierd because my peak normally comes and goes back down to virtually 0 in a few hours! Im quite crampy in my lower stomah so something must be going on

@ChinChilly sounds like today is the day!

@MintGreenLife ha just make sure the next appointment isn't during AF!

ChinChilly · 17/11/2020 20:22

@Juno231 I may of just eaten too much to be fair hence the cramps 😂😂😂 I dont BBT so no way to tell for sure really! Managed to DTD this afternoon still not gonna hold out much hope for this cycle but I suppose it only takes one little swimmer!

Juno231 · 17/11/2020 20:38

@ChinChilly haha wasn't it you who approved of my poppadom and coffee breakfast 🤣. I see our eating habits have some things in common!

ChinChilly · 17/11/2020 20:49

@Juno231 sounds like something I would approve of for breakfast 😂😂 my eating habits are not great...warped portion control and serial snacker over here 🙋🏼‍♀️

Kay00 · 17/11/2020 22:29

Haha, love the breakfast ideas. Im quite emotional (possibly addicted) to weetabix with loads of milk for breakfast... sounds boring I know but I get quite moody if I don't have any or if on the weekend we have eggs or pancakes lol... I just want my weetabix 😅

I also have a serious cake habit (I bake at least one a week) which if I cut out would probably get rid of my belly... but life would be boring so I like to think I have my priorities right 🤣

ChinChilly · 17/11/2020 22:32

@Kay00 I have abit of a love affair with chocolate weetabix..not the minis, they have a wierd coating on them 🤔

I get to this time of year and start to think, sod it its almost christmas clean up the diet in the new year 😂

Kay00 · 18/11/2020 09:03

@ChinChilly oooh... I haven't tried the chocolate weetabix... i'm tempted!

Morning ladies... how is everyone? I'm CD11 and not much happening here. I started doing OPKs from yesterday (despite advice to wait a few days... sorry @juno231, I just couldn't help myself!) but I'm glad I did as it was actually quite dark... so i'll keep testing.

I know this has been asked a bazillion times, but which app do you ladies use to take photos of your OPKs and it give you a percentage of strength?

Juno231 · 18/11/2020 09:13

@Kay00 don't be sorry! just thought you'd be waiting ages that's all Grin

I love baking too but actively don't cause it would just be the two of us scoffing it... Now that christmas is approaching I get more nostalgic and homesick though so will probably be baking some Swedish buns this weekend. Like these saffron buns with a creamy filling: anaytrxdzo.cloudimg.io/v7/tailsweep/007/2014/11/sb1.jpg?org_if_sml=1&w=2880

6DPO today - temp went up this morning to the highest it's been this LP so far. RHR still going strong :)

AMS19 · 18/11/2020 09:13

Morning @Kay00 super exciting you have colour! I always found premom the best for OPk photos 🙂

MintGreenLife · 18/11/2020 09:26

@Kay00 fingers crossed for your OPKs and a nice early ovulation this cycle! I say early, but I guess what I actually mean is normal ha. I use Premom myself :)

@Juno231 great news! Although are you sure you're not 7DPO? As I'm 6DPO today.

I'm not feeling great about my temps - they are hovering around 36.55-36.6, and this morn I had a little dip. They started declining at 7DPO last time before I started spotting at 9DPO and AF arrived 10DPO. Feeling slightly anxious about not wanting to see them start to come down again, praying for a higher temp tomorrow or the following day. Although I did take mine again at 7.30am this morn, just to see what it's like if I take it a more normal time (I take it at 4.30am) and it was 36.8.

MintGreenLife · 18/11/2020 09:28

Also you're making me sad with all your breakfast and baking talk as I'm still gluten and dairy free wah :( I think I'm around 2 months in, which is longer than I intended to do, but I'm finding it OK/scared to reintroduce things so just sticking to it!

Kay00 · 18/11/2020 09:30

@Juno231 ooh, they look gooood!! I'll have to find a recipe :) Its only the two of us scoffing these cakes I bake too... honestly, we eat a pretty healthy diet, these cakes (and perhaps a few biscuits a week) are our only downfall Grin... worth it though!

@ams19 Thank you Smile i'll download it now and see what it says. I thought I had these OPKs down, but my failure to interpret them in my last cycle has made me conclude that I need the help of an app!

Juno231 · 18/11/2020 09:42

@kay00 our downfall is wine lol!

@MintGreenLife omg yes I am 7DPO! Yay! That makes my RHR dip and ovulation type pains yday more fun too, I assumed they were at 5DPO so therefore should be ignored ha. If it helps then this cycle my temps are hovering between 36.45-36.62 so far, with 36.62 only being today! Normally they range up to 36.80 but I'm not reading too much into it as I find the cycles can vary :)

MintGreenLife · 18/11/2020 09:50

@Juno231 haha, I thought you were. One day further along than you thought woo! Well my temps are around the same then, so maybe I shouldn't be over thinking it, it's just because they are similar to last cycle so far, although slightly more fluctuation, which as far as I'm concerned is good because it's different to last cycle ha.

I still have the horrible sore/sensitive nipples, so guess progesterone is still going strong. Do you find you have sore nipples until AF comes? This is me hoping I'm remembering right and that you get the dreaded sore nipples after O too! Yeah to be honest I probably shouldn't be reading too much into mine just yet x

Juno231 · 18/11/2020 09:55

@MintGreenLife I think I've only had particulary sore nips one or two cycles earlier on in the year. Now they're veeery lightly sore (like I'd have to check, otherwise I wouldn't realise) and slightly fuller breasts than normal - but again barely noticeable. I still had high progesterone (in the 60s) for my day 21 test so I'm not worrying about the lack of progesterone symptoms as it all seems so hit and miss this body malarkey!

Jj130816 · 18/11/2020 09:57

Hi can I join in. I came off the mini pill around middle of Sept and finally got my first period last week it started on Wednesday and ended Monday. We are trying for baby number 5 but it's completely different this time our first and last babies were unexpected but 2nd and 3rd I was on the pill not the mini pill I came off and fell pregnant quite quickly, this time coming off the mini pill is completely different I had no bleeding for weeks so I have no idea how my cycle is going to work. I'm just hope I'm not too old this time round 😂 I'm 37 x

MintGreenLife · 18/11/2020 09:59

@Juno231 ah awesome about the high progesterone on your bloods! Sometimes I have wondered if the super sore nipples could be low progesterone :/ who knows! I've had them every cycle since I stopped the pill, although I think they stop hurting a few days before AF x

ChinChilly · 18/11/2020 10:40

@Kay00 chocolate ones are delicious! I also use premom, if you use the easy@home strips it gives you a nice little graph aswell!

@MintGreenLife @Juno231 keeping everything crossed for you!

@Jj130816 welcome ☺️

Kay00 · 18/11/2020 10:57

@Jj130816 Welcome! I'm pretty sure you're not too old at 37 Smile although it may take a few months longer. My mother in law had her 5th child at age 53!!! A bit of a surprise as you can imagine!

Juno231 · 18/11/2020 11:44

@kay00 your mother in law did what?! what the heck are the odds for that!

@Jj130816 you sound like a pretty fertile lady so doubt you'll have any problems! Welcome to the fold :)

MintGreenLife · 18/11/2020 11:53

@Kay00 oh my goodness!! I had no idea that was even possible.

So I've had my private blood test results back and I am very surprised! My TSH is 2.51 - at my last test two months ago it was 3.5! I'm happy as the upper range for TTC is 2.5, so just about in there, well, a smidge over. So I guess I won't be approaching my GP about reducing my TSH any more, or going private any time soon either. I do wonder if my going gluten and dairy free has helped, as did read even a mild gluten intolerance can raise TSH. It's a relief anyway, so guess we will just keep on trying and hoping my LP/cycle gets better!
