@robodo only because you asked, I would say that even if you wait til 10 DPO at least you are in the zone where most implantations have occurred. Even on a FRER it’s gonna be either nothing or something so faint that you’ll inevitably test again tomorrow. Having said that, definitely do you, and this whole thing is so awful you’ll certainly get no judgement from me!

@MummyToPrince thanks so much - I like your idea of pretending it’s only 5 days! If you really want to do it though, like me with chocolate, you’ll find a way....!

@MummyToPrince yes! Those are the exact ones! It's a risky game because if it arrives on the 30th then I have to channel ALL the willpower I have, but if it arrives on the 2nd then happy days! At least I now won't be tempted to go up to the shops to buy them because I know they're coming. What's your delivery dates saying? x

@robodo you gotta do what's right for you! It may sound crazy but could you mentally say to yourself that you won't test until you're in double digits past DPO, that'll take you up until the weekend and just keep yourself busy! You gotta do what's right for you though - no judgement from the serial early tester over here! x

I just need to not leave the house today then i can't buy them which means I can't test, I'm on nights tomorrow so I'll be super tired Sunday and have training Monday so that takes me to Tuesday which will be 12dpo so I just need to control myself 🤣 I think I may also buy the frer on amazon so I can test when they come x

@robodo the amazon ones are good as then you know they're coming but you're forced to wait at the same time! You'll definitely be able to test by the times those ones arrive if you're 8DPO today! x

@robodo that's a good idea, order them from amazon and then it will give you something to look forward to and then have a set date to test, but like RBCoxie said no judgment here if you test, we are serial early testers 😂 last month we was testing left right and centre 😂 x

@robodo Hang on in there! Testing this early is just willfully giving away your money to Big HPT (if Big Pharma is a thing then I'm pretty sure Big HPT should be a thing too!) Seriously though, what will you do with the result?
If it's negative do you rationalise with "I tested too early" or "it's a dodgy batch of tests" or "my pee is too dilute" or "it's the wrong time of day to pee"? Then you find the only way to solve these questions is to buy more tests of varying brands and pee on a stick twice a day and agonise over whether it's a faint line or an evap line or an in your head line. Every. Single. Day. For the next week.

I've gone from the stick peeing hope/despair cycle twice a day when I first started TTC to the pessimistic I'm probably not pregnant and yet still completely devastated when I get my period.
I'd love to know if there's a grey area in between.

@BellaBella84 you've definitely just knocked some sense in to me, everything you say is very true with my LO I had positive day after missed period and it was the only test I took didn't believe I was pregnant til I gave birth x

@robodo I'm pretty sure I won't believe I'm pregnant until I give birth either! I feel sick this morning and I'm like is it
A) Oh my days I'm pregnant!
B) I get PMT nausea, or
C) I had half a bottle of wine last night.

Yup, there's a strong chance it's not A on CD23! 🤦‍♀️

@MummyToPrince hahahha yes...I have a horrible feeling they will too. But I've just thought about it, I only ever test with FMU and I'm surprisingly strict with that, so if they arrive on the 30th then FMU will already be gone, so that's out and then it's the 31st and that was my goal to get to. So hopefully it won't be too bad 🤞🏼 hopefully I'll be distracted on the 31st so I won't end up testing then but let's see! x

Testing early beause you cave and you're losing your shit and you just have to know is one thing, and we've all been there. If you haven't been there are you sure you're on a MN forum?! When I see people encouraging the early testing there's no convincing me that that poster's not working for the likes of clearview! 🤣

@BellaBella84 I totally agree. All the false hope and wasted money has really given me a different perspective on testing.
Pharmacist gave me such a look when I asked what else I could do to get pregnant. Very obviously meant it will happen or it won't. Sold me the vitamins and temp thing but made it so clear they weren't nessecities.

Tmi but I'm focusing on the real issue this month. Partner and I usually have sex at night but often we don't finish, just get tired and go to sleep. So I'm making sure we do it before he goes to work. Not so romantic to schedule but fuck it.

Day 2 off the cigs. Wish me luck!

@RBCoxie if the tests arrive before 31st then I will 100% be testing on that day and no earlier if they don't then I will test the day after they arrive! I'm adamant I'm not testing any earlier and that will make us 12dpo so we should ideally have an answer x

@MummyToPrince sounds like a good plan to me! I also did some more googling about the EWCM - found this graph (grey line is estrogen) - there is a slight increase of estrogen after ovulation which can be shown slightly on an OPK (no where near a peak peak but just a slight increase) but it also means that EWCM can be produced too! So turns out nothing to worry about ovulation wise!

@BellaBella84 loved what you said about big pharma. I don’t know if anyone would find it helpful, but I bought the OneStep cheap HPT. They are 10IU/mL sensitivity and a FRER is 6IU/mL so they are not far off at all and they are like £1 each. I have 10 in the drawer and a plan not to test until I’m due on.
