@RBCoxie I feel the exact same and it's completely normal, just try and stay as positive and calm as you can x

@MummyToPrince I did ask as I think even twice would really increase my chances, especially as I also have to try and predict it in advance so he can arrange childcare....

But he’s a scientist and has also donated successfully to 3 women before so his take on it is, ‘once works if you time it right, sperm live for 3-5 etc’

He did say if it didn’t work after 6m he would come round twice, but now I’ve read the news and it looks like we are heading for a national lockdown, in which case he may not come round at all.....

All a bit stressful for me - I feel bad taking away from your epic news !

@Supermathsdoc no no no do NOT ever feel bad! I'm staying until you get a BFP so if you want a rant then go ahead girl!.. What about preceed when you hit peak see if he can come round that day and then maybe the following day and double up.. Yeah I've just seen the news 🤦‍♀️ hopefully it doesn't get in the way! X

@Supermathsdoc my gosh please don't feel bad for anything!! We are all here to support you 😊 this may be a bit of an OTT suggestion but I've read that sperm live for 3-5 days if the conditions are right - could it be worth using pre-seed for a few days after you inseminate to keep the 'conditions' as ideal as possible? Using pre-seed with abdomen raised up, may just help even more sperm go in the direction they need to? x

@Supermathsdoc I hadn't seen the news about a further lockdown FFS! Are you able to apply for IVF in your area or is that not a route you'd want to go down?

I am gonna try and aim for 1-2 days before O, as you suggest. Also when I get the peak I’ve attached my pic and as you can see I get a sort of pre peak, so it might be that’s the day to go for?

I am using preseed but only on the day so I think I will try your suggestion of continuing for a few days to keep the conditions right.

I would be eligible for IVF after 3 rounds of self funded IUI I had it in my head I would try at home 6 times, then do the IUi and then IVF as it’s all quite invasive and stressful I think.....

@Supermathsdoc Can I make just one more suggestion for next cycle, if you haven't already tried it? Orgasm after insemination. It's possible that the contractions help push his swimmers in the right direction. How's your partner coping with this?

@Supermathsdoc we are here at any time! I consider myself very lucky too - I think I would have gone even more crazy than I already have without this group 😂 did you try on CD14 this month? They say that the peak is your most fertile day so I would maybe do that day and keep up with the the preseed so the environment is as fertile as possible for when you ovulate soon after that.

@BellaBella84 I'm exactly the same - I really struggle to act like everything is normal! At least with this lockdown I can't see anyone 😂

My partner is, as always, being amazing. She was married to a man before and had 2 miscarriages so she’s been very good at helping me understand that it can be a difficult journey. But she also lets me vent! We went out for cocktails last night which helped ...

@RBCoxie I think CD14 was when I should have done it! But I did CD15 and I think as I’m older I probably ovulate much closer to the peak and it was a little late.

I think I learn something more about how my body works each cycle so I’m hoping that at some point a good quality egg will be released and it will coincide with me getting the timing right....

I did also have a chemical (faded after 3 days) in July so I feel like it can be done!

I won’t pretend I’m not sad that I won’t be coming with you on the next stage of your journeys, but it would be awesome if we kept this group going as I’d love to hear how it’s all going for you xx

Hi @MummyToPrince I'm feeling it bit more confident having seen it in writing, will keep checking in on the sticks every week now just to be sure. Setting my self small milestones to get through the neurosis. 6 weeks midwife referral form and tell friends. 8 weeks bookings appointment and blood tests, 10+ weeks nuchal scan

I told my sister today who is so happy for me, she couldn't be more excited! She is always there for me and we even live on the same street now. We will both have to tell our employers first thing this week for our various risk assessments. Trying to hold off telling our close friends until 6 weeks just in case it's not quite real. Husband wants to wait until after the first scan to tell our parents. Facebook doesn't get to know at all! 🤣

@2495KaJa Sorry I can't see anything yet. Best try again in a couple of days once the HCG is stronger, and always use FMU if you're testing before your period is due.

@BellaBella84 Not yet a year or year and a half covid depending. If this doesn't calm down registrar wedding but hoping 🤞for a big family one. If it doesn't work out tiny wedding and wedding party later. Who cares tho I found my 'one'

I’m feeling much much better now that my period is on its way out! I’m not 100% sure if we will try in November because of the lockdown but either way it’s out of my control and if it’s meant to me, I’m sure it will happen x
