Oh no I'm not! I just don't want to know if I have a chemical. It's self-preservation, not discipline!

@unCliche no idea tbh. We would probably just spend it on our own to minimise the risk of spreading covid, but we have a couple of relations close by who are going to find xmas especially difficult (due to recent loss in family) so we're weighing up the covid risk vs mental health risk if you get me. I guess it wouldn't be super risky to see them since we're in the same village anyway and there's no covid here (that we know about) but it's still a tough one! What about you?

@HerringGull @unCliche and @EllyNC thank you ladies, currently living on a diet of plain pasta, mashed potato and lucozade! So healthy for my growing child lol. I had a little more energy yesterday so went and got a Xmas tree but then the energy ran out so I currently have an undecorated tree stood in my living room .

@HerringGull when are you testing??

3 weeks today until my scan, mixed bag of nerves and excitement.

@AKC88 wow time flies! You're doing well ploughing through :) Sure your OH will decorate the tree whilst you lie on the sofa supervising?

I had a temp drop today so AF might be coming. Only thing is that it's too early! FF says I'm 12 dpo today, but I think I'm actually 11 dpo. But last month my temps didn't come down until CD2 of the new cycle, so it seems very early (assuming people tend to be the same cycle to cycle). I know you can't tell anything from one temperature but it doesn't stop me obsessing I guess I'll find out tomorrow if it was a blip or AF...

Oh, sorry... didn't read properly! Testing at the weekend if no AF :)

@HerringGull oh god no, his tree decorating would not meet the acceptable standards. I will do it with my eldest when he comes home from school haha! Fingers crossed for a blip! Time does fly although I know I will only be probably 10+4 on scan day but midwife said they always take it from LMP until scan says otherwise!

Hey ladies, hope you are doing well.. sorry for the silence the last few days... I had a scan and 2 blood tests to check for ectopic. Nothing on scan (could just be too early) but bloods went from 75 to 250 so they seemed hopeful. Another scan on sat so fingers crossed a little black blob will be sat in the right place.

My emotions are ridiculous though. I think I was expecting it all to take longer so I am now in panic mode... can I do this? Is my life over?! Lol x

@HerringGull I am about 4 days until ovulation. Currently in the mists of the strips and temp taking, all fun and games! Yes to the tree! No time is too early this year, although I have two naughty cats so I’m having the battle of them ripping up presents and tearing down decorations!

You could get a giant cactus instead of a tree? They wouldn't climb that...

@HerringGull I think mental health risk trumps COVID risk. A lonesome xmas is enough to tip anyone over the edge. I think go and be there for them. DH and I will be going to my parents and spending it with them.
Oooo exciting that your temps have gone up! That's really promising. How many DPO are you now?

@Cc7750 I start OPKs today! I've been holding my pee since 10am and waiting for 2pm before I gooo!

@unCliche well not sure it means anything positive as such - last month I temped at the end of my cycle and temps did not start going down until CD2 of the next cycle, so the fact that they're still high now doesn't really mean anything. But it's better than them staying down so I'll take it!
Christmas with your folks sounds lovely! Do you know when you'll be expecting your next AF? ie will it be over before Christmas so you've either got your BFP or at least you're well on to the next cycle and feeling positive?

@HerringGull Ah something similar happened last cycle to me too. My temps stayed high before AF. Stayed high but started falling through AF and are still falling now. Guess it would be hard to tell until AF doesn't show up but at least it keeps your hopeful!
My next AF is due a week before xmas! So I'll have some time to process the good/bad news. I'm hoping to be consistent with DTD as previous cycles we always stopped before Ov. Your DTD pattern is pretty good!

I'm a bit confused girls, i've started temping but I read that temping only confirms ovulation (as your temp rises at point of ovulation). Therefore do you only temp to ensure that you do ovulate as opposed to trying to predict when it is coming.. If I waited to DTD when my temp went up according to google it would possibly be too late?

Yep definitely. Temping just confirms that you ovulated yesterday, so too late to DTD then. You could use it to predict ovulation in future cycles, but only if you're regular. I guess you'll need OPKs if you want to predict O in advance. I don't use these though so don't know much about them x

@Cc7750 yup that's correct. Temping is more of a hindsight thing but it helps you understand when and if you do ovulate. Basically, OPKs let's you know when you're ovulating, BBT confirms if you did.

@HerringGull @unCliche thanks ladies.. Don't worry it's not the case i'll wait to do the deed on just that day but was getting confused to whether it helps predicts when it is coming, which you've confirmed my thinking! It's almost a security blanket to confirm that Ovulation has taken place to get a correct DPO! Thanks ladies

I failed to get the Christmas tree yesterday as DH got stuck at work and it was 5pm before he got home. Too tricky to be stamping around in the forest in the dark, so we're going today instead hopefully. AF due today or tomorrow so am on tenterhooks :)

@HerringGull thanks for checking in 🙂 I bought a thermometer from amazing and it was one with only 1 number after the decimal. So bought the right one and it didn't work! Not having much luck haha

So I got a faint positive yesterday 🥴 AF due today and I got another faint this morning, wasn’t any darker so I’m not getting too excited, just waiting to see if AF arrives!!!!

@Pudding01 nightmare with thermometer! I have two one with decimal and one without, they both give totally different results (massively). Justified one is one of those cheap gun things!
