I've given in again and retested. 8DPO and negative ☹️😭 is there any point in retesting this cycle?! Xx

GreenApplesYo · 23/10/2020 16:43

@Twinkle1989 8dpo is super early! I think loads of people don't get a BFP until the day their period is due, or even later? You're definitely not out yet 🙂

unCliche · 23/10/2020 16:53

@KJS20 that's my reasoning too. So many people drink without realising they're pregnant and baby always turns out fine. And thanks a lot! Exercise was never my thing but I really pushed myself - the colder months have definitely made it harder. All I want to do is stay in bed. But as long as you're healthy, a little bit of fat makes for a comfy home for a little baby so who even needs exercise right now Grin

@GreenApplesYo This spring/summer was great. The good weather really helped with lockdown. Winter, I agree, would make it much more difficult to want to go out and about. What were you growing in your allotment? I managed and grow tomatoes, pepper, chillis and strawberries in my garden. Really enjoyed it.

And I wish you all the best with work. I can't imagine how nerve-racking it is not knowing where you stand right now but things will work out either way!

Good thing for you is that I don't think a HIIT workout would be pregnancy friendly, so no need to ever give it a go!

Oh no @Twinkle1989. It really is early days yet. I still think there's a good chance up until AF shows, which she won't because we must think positively!

Twinkle1989 · 23/10/2020 16:57

@GreenApplesYo
@unCliche
❤️❤️ thank you - I don't know how to keep positive to be honest!
I'm not certain when I ovulated - OPK said peak on Thursday so could even be Friday in fairness...! Best keep busy and keep hoping
Thank you all ❤️xx

unCliche · 23/10/2020 17:58

@Twinkle1989 If you want, you can go on the Fertility Friend website and search for charts with specific parameters that match yours to see when some women generally get their BFP. Do keep in mind everyone is different but at least you can sort of gauge what's common.
I like to look at:
Category: Pregnancy
Keyword 1: With - Short cycle
Keyword 2: With - Using OPK

because these most match my circumstances.

GreenApplesYo · 23/10/2020 19:47

@unCliche aw home-grown strawberries and tomatoes are the best! I had loads of strawberries, I made pots of jam to give away. I also grew potatoes, onions, leeks, courgettes, cucumbers, broccoli, parsnips, umm... beetroot, spinach, beans, sunflowers, raspberries and tomatoes. So everything then 🙂 I find it really relaxing. I live in a small northern town, so it's just me and a lot of old men hehe. Have you got a big garden? We still rent, but the dream is to have a big garden with some chickens running about (and hopefully a couple of kids too). Not toooo much more deposit money to save!

@Twinkle1989 were you on hormonal contraceptives before starting TTC?

Twinkle1989 · 23/10/2020 19:54

@GreenApplesYo I last took contraceptives about 3 years ago and have had regular periods since 😭😭

I'm having a look on Fertility Friend - did you upgrade to VIP? Thank you xx

GreenApplesYo · 23/10/2020 20:12

@Twinkle1989 it's good you've been off contraception for that long. That's a head start on a lot of us! Did you say you have been TTC for 2 months? Are regular cycles a good sign for your fertility? I'd definitely assume so 🙂

I've done loads of googling recently because I had 2 peaks 2 days apart on my OPKs and my temp rise has been slow. I think unCliche's advice is really good, from what I have seen there are loads of normal variations with things like LH surges, temps, not everyone fits the one template!

It's easy to get obsessed and think every little thing is a sign either good or bad... If you are like me I tend to fixate and worry about the smallest thing even when things are perfectly fine and work out OK.

Twinkle1989 · 23/10/2020 20:30

@GreenApplesYo I came off my pill because my sex drive was nil and it really helped

We tried just before ovulation (or so I thought!) last month but I'm not sure whether I actually ovulated or not. And then this month when we hit a high & peak.

You're right - it is so easy to get obsessed - that's me right now!

My periods have been text book really including my peak on day 14 - I know it's early days but I really didn't realise how much there is to all of this 😳
Xx

unCliche · 23/10/2020 20:44

@GreenApplesYo I'm a complete novice compared to you. You've literally grown everything! I'm jealous! Our garden is reasonably spacious but I've been growing everything in pots as we're also renting. We've recently had an offer accepted on a house and the garden there is really nice so maybe I'll be able to find a home for my plants. Chickens would be so fun! We have two rabbits but I guess they're nothing like chickens haha!

@Twinkle1989 I don't have VIP but I don't know if that's needed. You can create another account and get free limited VIP for a few weeks if you can't access it.

GreenApplesYo · 23/10/2020 20:48

@Twinkle1989 yes, it really is a steep learning curve! But I do think text book cycles are a definite plus. If you don't get your BFP this month, you can take all your learning into next month and really go for it 🙂

Ha speaking of obsessing, I just caught myself feeling my boobs again for about the 10th time today to check if they are more or less sore than before (and sore boobs are normal for me in the 2nd half of my cycle). At this rate I'll probably have squeezed them about 100 times by the time AF is due! Got freaked out earlier that I'd accidentally made regular coffee instead of decaf and I'd gone over my 'limit', as if it would actually make a difference haha! Plus I'm addicted to MumsNet threads 😂

unCliche · 24/10/2020 12:35

I'm an obsessive googler. I find myself scrolling, scrolling, reading every forum I can find then I have to catch myself and be like, "stop, it's probably all in your head anyway". I get sore boobs after O as well and they can surprise me at any time during my LP so that's definitely one symptom I'll try to ignore if I get them this cycle (but easier said than done!)

Generally I don't have any symptoms yet. Just lots of (TMI) creamy CM but that could be normal for me and an achy labia but again, probably nothing too.

Do you guys have any symptoms yet?

EllyNC291 · 24/10/2020 17:04

Hi everyone! Also in the 2WW think I’m about 5dpo but I didn’t use opks (they never seem to go positive for me) so not entirely sure!! When’s everyone planning to test? Want to hold out till my period is due but I’m so impatient 🥴 wishing you all lots of luck!!

GreenApplesYo · 24/10/2020 17:10

Weirdly, I'm actually quite pleased my nipples get sore right after O, helps me know something happened in there! No symptoms yet, but unlikely at 4dpo? The only thing is I am really hungry! But apparently progesterone raises your metabolism, so that's probably why.

The days are starting to drag now though! And I'm only 4 days in. How are you finding the wait?

Ohh also just spotted your message about the house! That's great! Do you know yet when you can move? You should definitely get chickens, then you can live my dream haha. I did actually live in a shared house once with someone who had chickens, they were super cute and friendly.

How are you doing today @Twinkle1989?

Hi @EllyNC291 you're 1 day ahead of me! I don't think I have decided about testing yet. Should wait for AF but will probably break before then haha! How many cycles have you been TTC?

GreenApplesYo · 24/10/2020 17:11

Oh the top part of that last message was @unCliche. Forgot about the tag oops 🙂

Twinkle1989 · 24/10/2020 17:12

@GreenApplesYo all good here - still trying to be positive! Although everywhere I look, there are babies 😭 every fb ad, every trolley has a baby plonked in it 😭 it's driving me crazy!
I've bought some more First Response - tempted to try and be dehydrated tonight and test first thing 😂
Still no symptoms though!
How are you doing? Xx

EllyNC291 · 24/10/2020 17:16

@GreenApplesYo this is our first month trying for no2! We sort of decided on a whim to give it a go this month haha, we have to take a break till next year after this month due to various reasons so would be lovely if it happened, tho not hopeful as it’s our first month!! Trying not to get wrapped up in it but it’s hard to think about anything else isn’t it! 😂

unCliche · 24/10/2020 17:44

@GreenApplesYo Oh I hate my achy boobs. Mine get so sore that walking up and down stairs causes me so much pain. I have to hold them down to stop them moving because it's just so horrible. I don't think I could go 9 months with them like that, so I really hope it's not one of my symptoms! But at the same time, yes, it is good indicator that hormonally things are going right. Omg yes! The hunger! I feel like regardless of what or how much I eat, I'm never fully satiated and usually, it takes very little to fill me up. Damn progesterone!

I'm finding that I'm quite impatient and want some sort of sign or symptom but I'm also 4 DPO so still have a few days to wait before implantation is a possibility.

We're still at the beginning of the house buying process so could take months before we can finally move in. There seem to be a lot of delays with mortgage applications at the moment so I'm expecting the process to take at least 3 months.

I was at the vets on Thursday and an elderly lady brought in her hen! I was so surprised! Never knew people kept them as proper pets - I just thought they were used as egg factories and food.

@Twinkle1989 aww! Good luck with testing tomorrow. Let us know how it goes. But I know what you mean, I attended a virtual baby shower today and her bump was huge and I felt slightly jealous! I don't know why! This is literally our first month TTC!

Hi @EllyNC291 fingers crossed that this is your month! You could get lucky

GreenApplesYo · 24/10/2020 17:48

@Twinkle1989 oh no haha poor you! I keep gazing at babies in buggies too. You're 9dpo now? That's still really early, plenty of days left to get a BFP. Good luck for the testing tomorrow, have my fingers crossed for you.

@EllyNC291 aw how old is your 1st? I really hope I can have 2, it's nice to have a sibling. I'm glad I have mine - we can gossip about our parents ha! Did you conceive quickly last time round?

Twinkle1989 · 24/10/2020 17:54

Thanks so much @unCliche & @GreenApplesYo ❤️

I normally have sore boobs in the week before my period but nothing and not the usual bloating 🤷🏻‍♀️

When are you guys planning on testing? xx

EllyNC291 · 24/10/2020 17:56

@GreenApplesYo I hope so too! My son was recently one 🙂 we were pretty lucky last time and got pregnant within a couple of
Months but I know that doesn’t mean much for this time so we will see!! I’m trying to give it another few days before I start symptom spotting or I’ll go mad 😂😂
@Twinkle1989 good luck testing!!!

Twinkle1989 · 24/10/2020 18:49

Warning TMI...

Just went for a wee and have brown discharge which is strange! Praying in not spotting for my period to start next week 😭😭

GreenApplesYo · 24/10/2020 20:00

@Twinkle1989 do you normally get spotting before AF? Could be implantation maybe? 🙂

@EllyNC291 ah fingers crossed you get pregnant quickly this time as well. Do you remember any particular early symptoms with your son?

@unCliche hahah mine are a B cup, they pretty much hold themselves down anyway 😂 one of the mixed blessings of having smaller boobs I guess. Glad it's not just me with the hunger, I thought I was imagining things! Been eating EVERYTHING today.

Urgh annoying to have to wait 3 months. Gives you lots of planning time I guess?

Haha chickens are nice, it's sweet the old lady had one. I think they make nice pets. If you coo at them they coo back. The ones I lived with used to come running across the garden to see me (probably hoping for food, but still).

I'm waiting until 7dpo until implantation is feasible and then I'm going to go crazy hahah!

EllyNC291 · 24/10/2020 20:32

Eeeee @Twinkle1989 could be implantation?? Fingers crossed for you!

@GreenApplesYo only really sore boobs and getting short of breath but they were shortly after I tested I think. I did get some cramping and ‘felt weird’ (hard to explain!) for a few days before BFP tho!

Twinkle1989 · 25/10/2020 08:40

😭 good morning - I tested this morning and was negative 😭 so feeling sad today! I think it seems so hard as it's so long away before we can try again 😩
Anybody else testing? xx
