TTC 8 months in, still early days but starting to feel more and more every time AF arrives

Thought I'd start this post as hoping there are some lovely ladies in a similar boat to me.

DH and I are now 8 months in TTC and no luck. We both really want it to happen though he does have a son already so not always as emotional about AFs arrival every month as I am.

I know it's early days still and some have to go a lot longer but I'm now starting to get to the worried/upset stage. Get pangs of sadness when I see a baby bump or something pregnancy related in the shops, on TV or online.

Would love to hear and support others who are in the same boat as me

@Lovebug06 I’ve never suffered with my skin, but I did horribly when I came off my pill. I had the worst acne, and it was very depressing, suffering with your skin is the worst. I now have completely clear skin again, I am so so thankful. I went to the doctors and they prescribed me a cream, which worked wonders ✨ I also swear by a lady called Zoebeebeauty- her green cream is incredible and I think that’s made my skin even better. I honestly know how horrible it is to suffer x

@Izzie94 ooh do you know what cream the docs prescribed you?

@Juno231 Epiduo lovely 😌 you can also try acnecide from over the counter in Tesco’s pharmacy or boots/ Superdrug (not sure they’re open atm!) that worked for me slightly just not as good. It took around 6 weeks using epiduo for my skin to completely settle, it wasn’t pretty to begin with!! Lots of tears and tantrums, my entire face was covered!!! But I can now go without any makeup again and feel super happy with it. The only issue is I don’t think it’s safe during pregnancy, I did advice my doc I was TTC and she was happy to prescribe it, just said if we did fall to stop using it she said it would prevent or harm that early xx

Wow it’s almost like once your brain knows you’re pregnant, your body is ready to terrorise you 😂 been up since 1.30am then dozing in and out but saw every hour of the clock 🤯 My FRER was quite light but I think I have higher hormones in the afternoon! Hope this is my little Summer baby - we are over the moon! 😄

Things we did this month : “relaxed a bit more” with less OPKs on the lead up to my peak/went by EWCM, have used pregnacare since the start, used pre-seed, DTD 4 days during peak (day before/of/after & 1 more), didn’t shower after DTD this month - don’t know if this means anything and i felt disgusting but who knows 😂 Hope some of this helps!! 🤍🤍 xxx

@Juno231 Cecil is cute i have a black and white cat too. Love the name! My pooch is wearing his dressing gown in that pic 😂 its like a towel material. Once we've been out and got wet and muddy it's to soak in the extra wet after we've dried him. Its great!

@MJM1608 awww its official now then the CB says pregnant!!!! Which cycle was this for you? I can't remember.

I'm 8dpo and stupidly took a test this morning, its a BFN for me I knew it would be! It was like an impulsive thing im terrible at stopping myself 🤣 gonna have to wait 2 more days now!!

@SparkyLauz I want to say @MJM1608 was on cycle 10? I’m not sure but I’m 11 and I think she was around the same as me! 🥰

Oh noooo don’t do it! 😅 definitely way too early I always make that mistake. You’re definitely still in for a shot! I so do it impulsively when they’re in stock in my bathroom haha it’s terrible! How are you feeling this cycle? 😊

@SparkyLauz it was actually my 8th cycle!! Although felt like 19387th cycle 😅 no harm taking an early test but really hope that you do see two lines this weekend 🙏🏻 I didn’t get them until 12 dpo (and had negatives before that)! Are you using FRERs? It’s so hard waiting but also so disappointing seeing a negative!

My hubby said I don’t seem excited and haven’t really celebrated the BFP, which makes me sad!! When you’ve had a chemical/MC it really affects how you see things at the fear of it being taken away so soon! I am hoping by next week I will be less overwhelmed & anxious then call the maternity clinic 😊🤞🏼 Lots to look forward to I hope! More good news on this thread pls ✨💙💖

Thankyou to you all for your comments on my skin. Sorry about my rant, I felt miserable yesterday. I have been off a couple of days and dreading work tommorow due to my skin. I know that sounds odd, as I don't care what people think, I just care how it makes me feel, I feel so embarrassed having this in my late twenties. My dh tells me nobody cares or looks, but it's on my mind so much especially when so bad.
I will look up those creams, I've had acnecide and found it's not really done anything. Anything I try on my skin, I never know if that's making it worse or its just where it goes up and down in general!
I've got my fur baby also giving me cuddles though..
A few of you are approaching the end of your TWW, fingers crossed girls.
I haven't tracked properly so my app still says I'm only at the start of my TWW however as my Ewcm came about day 9, I'd say I'm a few days ahead than I should be, would you girls agree? Think I'm around 7/8 dpo and due in a weekish x

@MJM1608 thank you lovely ✨🤍 love hearing your positive news has made me feel more positive about this month! I’m due to ovulate around this time next week!! DH having his tooth out, so hopefully we can time it right just before an a day or so after. I’m not using OPKS this month, although I do have some cheapies and I probably will do a couple 🙊

Awww I can see why you’re not quite excited yet after what happened, but I’m sure this will be as perfect as it can be. And in a few weeks after your first apt you can start really getting excited and planning everything 🥰✨

@Lovebug06 having bad skin is the worst!!! I hated it too. I’m not fussed what people think but being 26 and having acne / really bad spots wasn’t something I ever thought I’d have to deal with!! Speak to your doctor if not 😌 mine were really really good and didn’t just palm me off. One thing I will say is my skin purges bad!! So whenever I try something new it’ll get a hell of a lot worse before it gets better, if that happens, wait it out. I promise you it’ll be worth it 🤍 it can take your skin around 3 weeks I think to purge!!

I’d definitely go by EWCM, mine always seem to be pretty reliable - ish 😊 I haven’t used opks this cycle either, although I’m a week off predicted ovulation yet! Fingers crossed it’s the last month for all of us!!

@Izzie94 I'm happy not tracking generally but definately not as good not knowing when im due on properly! I'm usually 28 days but have been 26 a couple of times and then early ovulation has thrown me so I am estimating it could be any of a few days!

@MJM1608 This is cycle 8 for me too! Hoping for the 2 solid lines this weekend also 🤞🤞 the bfn has thrown me off a bit today as have been feeling really happy and positive up until now. I wish I didnt do it. What a waste! And yeh It was a FRER.

Bless you I hope the anxiety goes away for you soon, there's no reason why this won't be perfect. Is that the next steps then after you get a positive do you have to get in touch with the drs etc to get tests and stuff? I've no idea how it all works!

@Izzie94 I've had a few little pulling twinges down there but nothing like I usually get before AF. Usually I'd have sore boobs by now too, they feel bigger but they always swell around this week. Its hard to tell! I was cleaning the bathroom today doing my housework and it's only because I opened the cupboard where I keep the tests I saw it and before I knew it I'd opened one and peed on it. Don't know why I expected to see anything 😂

@SparkyLauz please don’t be upset - it’s not over yet!! I was in the exact same position as you 4 days ago & now my world has been turned upside down 😄!! Keep being positive 🤞🏼 Lucky cycle 8!!

You call the GP who advise you on a midwife unit to contact (sometimes there’s on at the drs surgery - in Glasgow anyway!), then they book in a 8/9 week midwife appointment, 12 week scan then 20 week scan. We are paying for private scans for peace of mind - probably 7 weeks (should hear a heartbeat by then) & 9 weeks... think they’re £50/60 each time. 16 weeks you can find out the gender - but think we’re getting a surprise!! 💙💖 xxxx

Thats good to know! I think we will end up going for a few private scans too. There's no way I would be able to wait until the birth to find out the sex of the baby!

The thing is my next door neighbour who is a good friend works at the midwife unit in admin where they do all bookings, when she sees my name shes going to have a fit 🤣 but she won't be able to say anything to me due to patient confidentiality which will make it 10x harder, its going to be funny watching her squirm until I tell her the news.

So girls, I'm the next to test- this weekend, then who's after me..... ? Whats everyone's expected AF dates? Xx

@Lovebug06 the one thing I'd say is that I've had EWCM 5 days before OD in the past and I've never had it on ovulation day only so I'd guess you could be somewhere between yours and the app's estimates? I'm thinking OD on CD12 perhaps?

@SparkyLauz I think I'm ovulating today so no AF for another 2 weeks!

@Juno231 oh that's thrown me then. From when I did the opks before I seemed to go down low the day after my ewcm so hopefully I didn't do it too early then, its done now anyway so not much I can do but hope 😂, so fingers crossed!
@sparkylauz i am due AF around Monday I think so most likely not far after you weekend girls although can't be 100% as I put above. My friend who is trying came on today, I'd been feeling fine but now I feel a bit anxious knowing it's not far, I've had a kind of ache/twinge down there slightly a few times today though so sure I'm gearing up for AF. I'm cycle 10.

@Lovebug06 its fingers toes and everything else crossed for us this weekend then! My boobs are a bit sore today and have had some mild cramping. According to my calendar I should start my usual spotting tomorrow so if that doesn't happen then ile be a bit giddy as its never gone on longer than that xx

I’m just coming to the end of AF, heading into cycle 9 now.

@SparkyLauz thanks for reaching out, had a tough month and totally lost track of the thread and didn't want to barge back in!
Had a lot of stress with my parents announcing divorce after 35years so find it very unlikely I will have conceived.
Tried OPKs this month for the first time and never got a positive, felt like a stab every day testing so not sure I'm going to do them again.
AF is due any day so there's a tingle of hope but think it will be very unlikely!

I sometimes found that I got my peak late afternoon rather than FMU?
