TTC 8 months in, still early days but starting to feel more and more every time AF arrives

Thought I'd start this post as hoping there are some lovely ladies in a similar boat to me.

DH and I are now 8 months in TTC and no luck. We both really want it to happen though he does have a son already so not always as emotional about AFs arrival every month as I am.

I know it's early days still and some have to go a lot longer but I'm now starting to get to the worried/upset stage. Get pangs of sadness when I see a baby bump or something pregnancy related in the shops, on TV or online.

Would love to hear and support others who are in the same boat as me

@2020TTC Ugh I’ve looked at it now and I don’t even know if I see anything, going to pee in a cup tomorrow morning 😂 why do we test early and do this to ourselves 😂🤯 sorry you’ve had nothing but still early of course! Do you count your DPO from your peak ovulation or the day after? Xxx

@MJM1608 You'll have to let us know tomorrow morning! I know I tried to hold off but just felt like I had to test as i've had no symptoms and don't feel anything so wanted the test to prove my wrong.. but no 😂😂

I count from day after, do you do the day of or after? I feel we're super close in time, so I am 9dpo but could be 10dpo if I included ov day!

When is AF due to for you? (Hopefully she doesn't come! ✨)

@2020TTC of course I will!! I’m not feeling that hopeful anymore as I can’t see the line I thought I saw.. going crazy! Been up since 5am waiting to test then stared at it for about 45 mins 😂 I feel perfectly normal today too.

I got my peak smiley on the 27th.. I count the day after as my first dpo.. but could be that I ovulated the day after, I don’t temp! Good to have someone to hand hold! 😊 due AF a week tomorrow (bloody ages away!!) what about you? 🙏🏻 Hope we have some good news in this thread!! ✨xxx

@MJM1608 You never know though, it's definitely worth trying again tomorrow or the day after! I stared at mine this morning for quite a while as if a line would magically appear 😂

Ah yes so I got my peak smile on 27th as well, so assumed Ov was next day (28th) and then counted 29th as 1dpo. If I go from your logic we're the same at 10dpo!

This is the first month i've properly used OPKs and my app says AF should be 11th so i'm close..5 days to go. I feel this month is not the one (although would love it to be!) so already mentally preparing for AF and have chocolate and wine ready 🍫🍷

@Lovebug06 hahaha that’s SO me!!!! Whenever DH says he’s too tired, or makes a little remark like “need an early night tonight” I’m like, excuseeeee me!!! Get moody as we won’t DTD haha!! 😅 I think every women is like that during ttc! Men are way too chill!

@Juno231 haha until you need to throw an extra one in that made me laugh! I’m SO tempted to actually DTD less this month, a couple of my friends got pregnant the month they only did it a couple times around their FW then nothing else!! Maybe if there’s more... who knows 🤣😂 I also seem to find bfn easier than AF just showing. But sometimes an early bfn I convince myself I’ve implanted late - I am crazy. 🤣

@MJM1608 heyyyy girlllll!! I’m SO refreshed. I’m back in my good mood, AF is gone. I’m really lucky and usually only 3 days / 4th slightly of AF which is nice. Ready for a new FW and a new chance! 🥰 omg don’t I swear to god the TWW makes me crazy, I had sore teeth once and thought that meant I was in for a BFP 😂😂 I’m only CD 8, ovulated CD18 the last 2 cycles! So a little while yet, but I do love DTD around this time, it’s fun, and I don’t get mad if it doesn’t happen! AHHHHHH, I bet you’re not crazy and I bet there’s something there 😍 omg I feel so bloody excited for you!!!! Is it tomorrow yet? I wanna know if there’s more of a like! Eeeek. 🤍✨ I am keeping everything crossed for you!!! Any symptoms? Xxx

@2020TTC always good to have wine and chocolate ready 🥰 I do that every month!! I hope you don’t need the wine this month though ✨🤍 did you find the OPKS useful? Do you ovulate when you thought? I get so excited seeing the positive OPK, anyone would think I was pregnant!!! 😂 xx

@Izzie94 I used to convince myself of late implantation but I've stopped that now since reading that implantations post 11DPO onwards have super high miscarriage rates, so nothing to be hopeful for anymore lol. As in I think 11DPO was ~82% and it got higher with each consecutive day.

@2020TTC I have my FRER’s at the ready 😂 I took another one with my SMU and it was stark white. If it’s blank tomorrow then I think I’ll be more accepting that it might not be the month😂 you do think a line will come from somewhere don't you 😂 aww fab we are at the same stage!! It’s still early days anyway so got to keep positive ✨eeek that’s exciting... hopefully no AF coming!! 🤞🏼 Good to have the wine and choco on standby just incase 😊

Glad you’re in a good frame of mind as that’s what’s most important 💖 Enjoy the no stressing while it lasts!! Haha I know I wish I could just go to sleep now and wake up tomorrow, will deffo keep you updated but not getting hopes up 😂 I felt nauseous yesterday but nothing today!! @Juno231 oh that’s such a good way to look at it, instead of driving ourselves insane!! DH is so chill, he just keeps telling me it’ll happen when we least expect it, rah rah rah. I feel like as women we do put a lot of pressure on ourselves that it’s our fault it doesn’t happen straight away!! 🙄 one of my friends recently admitted it took them 18 months to conceive their second, but first month for their first. So there’s really no rhythm to it, and I really appreciate the honesty and makes me feel better about going into month 11 🥴

@MJM1608 I’m definitely JUST as crazy BUT, I really do see something!!! V v v faint, but I’m sure somethings there. I keep starring at it and I think it’s making me go cross eyed 😂😂 I swear whenever I’ve looked at them before my brain imagines a line where it should be, why does that happen? 🥴😂

Exactly! Best to be in a good frame of mind. I actually started looking at private IVF (we wouldn’t get funded as DH has a son) and I was actually surprised at the cost, thought it would be more! And you also get a refund if the rounds are unsuccessful! That sounds crazy I know and we wouldn’t explore that until after 2 years TTC but it defo made me feel more relaxed that it’s not going to be impossible 🥰 lots of women report wetter before a BFP! Especially if that’s unusual for you!? It’s hard with symptoms isn’t it as mine change month on month for AF 🙄 anyway, this is going to be the first BFP fingers crossed to start this thread off 😍✨ today’s dragging to be fair! And it’s so cold ❄️ X x x

@MJM1608 and @CausingChaos2 Aww thankyou girls! ❤ we all deserve a our Christmas miracle after such a rubbish year. We will definitely have to keep in touch even when we all get our BFPs, lt would be lovely to share the pg journey of our 1st babies 😍

Its our wedding anniversary on 22nd of this month so I was thinking if this is the month then it would be lovely to tell DH then to make it extra special.

I need your opinion ladies... so some of you will know I have a short LP so basically my TWW isn't actually 2 weeks its like 10 or 11 days. But I allllllways get spotting for 2 or 3 days before AF arrives. So now I've got these FRERs how early do you think I would be able to test? It says up to 6 days early and so that would mean tomorrow for me? I will be 4dpo tomorrow. But that seems far too early to test does it not? A bit confused about it, a lot of you don't even test till after 11dpo but for me AF has already arrived by then. Its difficult to tell for me xx

@MJM1608 ohhhh you've started testing!! I'm with @Izzie94 on this one, I want to see a line so I'm thinking there is a slight hint of one too. Will you test again tomorrow or wait a few days? X

@SparkyLauz I just googled some stuff for short LP and testing (becuase I am clueless!😂) but saw lots of ladies say that even with a short LP they often didn’t implant until 9DPO/10po!! That must be so frustrating 🙁 although it does mean you probably won’t do as much early testing! (I could be completely wrong as I was looking at V old mumsnet boards 😅)

Do you girls take any vitamins other than folic acid? I’m thinking I might start and probably should take vitamin D especially now in winter! Xxx

I will let you know how tomorrow’s test goes 😂 it seemed there when the test was wet but now it’s dry it’s totally gone 🤯! You look at it so much it does make you cross eyed!! IVF in Glasgow is approx £5k per round... is that the same as you found? It’s good to have the info on it! Hopefully none of us need it! 🤞🏼 Our fertility doctor says he would only recommend it as a last resort for me (another year down the line). My sis in law had one round before falling preg & it was tough going. Our wee nephew is 6 months now🥰 I just take pregnacare which has folic acid & vit d! What is it you’re taking?

Would be an amazing anniversary surprise!! 🙏🏻That’s very confusing.. I would have said no matter the LP you still take 8-12 days to implant? Maybe test in 5/6?! 🤞🏼 Seems like ages away but you don’t want to waste your FRERs! Hope AF doesn’t arrive and makes the decision for you 😄✨📳

Ahhhh so you’re a northern lass, explains being so lovely 😝 haha, I’m southern and I love it up north! It’s around 6k here so not much difference, but for some reason I was expecting like 10k 😅 so pleasantly surprised! Ah yes absolutely for me too as we have no issue so it would full under unexplained. They like to wait 2 years don’t they!

Aww it’s so tough isn’t it. A friend of a friend went through 2 failed rounds recently, and is awaiting next steps 🙁 ahhhh, do you find the pregnacare ok? I’m always worried it’ll change my cycle or something!! I’m only on folic acid and really neeed to up my game haha xxx

@Izzie94 it’s more visible here but it must have been an evap line as it’s gone now 😂 would love my rainbow baby before Xmas but will see what happens, cautiously optimistic 😊 haha I’m actually from the highlands but live in Glasgow now! That’s kind of you to say 🥺where abouts down south are you? it’s still so steep though eh, especially if you need a couple rounds 😖 we are so lucky to be able to afford it (hopefully won’t need it) but makes you think it those who can’t! Even private tests... you only get 2 with NHS which shocks me! That’s a shame, hope she gets her sticky bean soon. You doing anything nice this weekend to take your mind of TTC or all locked down? Don’t mind pregnacare! I think my cycles varied between 28-32 days but seems to be on time currently! I’ve heard Luisa Zissman recommends one that’s good? Xxx

Oh I can definitely definitely see it in that picture!!! 😍 I’m still keeping my fingers and toes absolutely crossed ✨🤍 I really wanted before Christmas, but also, I thought to myself the other day if it doesn’t happen I will absolutely drown myself in copious amounts of wine, Camembert, pate!!! All the stuff we can’t have pregnant 😂 and the new year will absolutely bring us what we want 🥰 BUT, we do still have 2 months left, and my toes are crossed tight!! Oh wow, Scotland is just so beautiful and the highlands!! I’ve visited once and that’s it, I’m in Kent so it’s SO far for me haha. Not so picturesque 😂 but it’s ok haha. Yeah it absolutely is!! Well defo get our BFPs before thats necessary I am sure of it!

We have no plans actually, we really need to spring clean the house and I hate to say it BUT make room for Christmas decorations and new bits 😍 so think we’ll do that and watch some movies with some wine! What about you?

@Izzie94 I have only done one month of OPKs using the CB ones with the flashing and static smiley. Helped me this month as I ovulated 2 days later than my app said so worth knowing, I have enough for this month too then i'll reevaluate! 🥰 What do you use? I'm the same, when that static came I was sooo happy! ✨

@izzie94 it can be a bit frustrating having to wait and I always end up testing literally the day before AF arrives, so I'm going to see if I can hold off testing at all this month haha.

I dont take anything else but folic acid. I'm quite anxious about taking anything else so just trying to keep a healthy diet and doing lots of walking.

I’ve started spotting so expecting AF today/ tomorrow. So that will be us on to cycle 9. I’m not going to dwell on it. This is the first weekend OH has had off work for months so just going to enjoy having some time together.

I haven’t tested today as although AF is due in 4 days i’ve had cramps and some browny discharge (sorry tmi) so feel like maybe she’s coming early, not had this discharge before but the cramps are the exact type I get the day before AF normally and i’m tired and grouchy like normal (lucky husband 😂) so think i’ll save the tests and just wait it out now 😔

@2020TTC Hard not to think it’s probably not going to happen this cycle but stranger things have happened! I feel nauseous but only around 3pm each day... that’s about all the strange feelings I have & vivid dreams every night! Hope it’s not AF but sorry if it is 😔 early too!!
