@Vie8126 Do you have to take the blood yourself? I tried that once for something else and it was a dismal failure because I'm so squeamish 😂

I hear you on the holidays. If we did have another we wouldn't be leaving the country for a long time, the boys are quite naughty so I wouldn't risk it. As it is we can handle one each so might be able to hit the beach!

Loladoodle · 27/10/2020 15:45

Ahhhh what id do for a holiday 🙌

whatever1980 · 27/10/2020 18:23

Hi @Vie8126 which test did you go for? I'm still considering ordering one but just spent money on an Ava bracelet so may be next pay packet I do tests.

I said I'd stop at 40. But 40 is in 2 months and I don't feel ready to stop yet. I've 3 amazing girls and if it doesn't happen that's absolutely fine but was in park today and lots of babies about and I thought - yep I want that again.

It's hard when you feel like you're doing everything you can - dtd on the dates the 3 ovulation testing kits you use say is your peak! Taking the supplements, eating healthy, testing everyday and for whatever reason the sperm just doesn't meet/fertilise the egg!

Happyhappy37 · 27/10/2020 18:36

Hello all, hope everyone us doing well

@Loladoodle i really would love a holiday 😊

Sending positive energy to you all ❤️🙏🏾

Trying4mylastmiracle · 27/10/2020 18:42

@Sleeeeeepy see what you just wrote there explains how I’m feeling and why we made the decision to step back a bit I had soo many symptoms last month because me coming off the pills my DP told me yerstday I was 100%you were pregnant because your mood swings and eating habits changed we not preventing but also ain’t trying so we just agreed to let my body adjust we not monitoring or using anything to check ovulation I have the app on my phone and we gonna miss the first day of fertile window because his at work but his with me for the rest of the weekend so we that 3 days and that’s it really this is exhausting at times someone said something bout Christmas and I thaught about how my DP so affectionate that’s worth a try so il sure get into the Christmas spirit 😂

M4v3r1ck · 27/10/2020 20:08

Hey all,

Sorry I've been quiet of late! I lost track of all the messages on the last thread, and was just finding everything a bit stressful and overwhelming... 😳

Hope everyone is doing good, and big welcome to anyone I haven't said hello to! Apologies if I missed any BFPs! 😘😘😘

🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻 this is a lucky thread! I'm on CD24 of my 6th cycle TTC!

Happyhappy37 · 27/10/2020 20:26

@M4v3r1ck 👋🏾, not been active on the thread myself, i occasionally pop in and out.
Af due tomorrow.

I hope things are less stressful for now.
Good luck

Loladoodle · 27/10/2020 20:40

@M4v3r1ck @Happyhappy37 good luck ladies, so hoping the witch does not visit this Halloween 🧙‍♀️ 🤞 for you both!!!

I’ve been dipping in and out too and no longer tracking ov as I have always tested pos on cd13 so I’m just going with regular dtd and trying to take a more relaxed approach.

Happyhappy37 · 27/10/2020 20:47

@Loladoodle thank you.
I am all for the relaxed approach. 😁😃
I am enjoying life. 😃.

🙏🏾❤️

Vie8126 · 28/10/2020 07:36

@whatever1980 I've gone with one that checks FSH, AMH, LH and oestradiol. I found a discount code also so got it bit cheaper. Literally don't know what else we could do! Like you I'm blessed with 3 but would so love for DP and me to have our own.

@sleeeeeepy it's just a finger prick blood I'm hoping I can do it OK!

@happyhappy37 fingers crossed for you.

@m4v3r1ck hope things are okay now completely get it can all be overwhelming and emotional at times.

M4v3r1ck · 28/10/2020 09:15

Thank you, ladies! I'm feeling much better! 😘 Just loads on at work and I was finding the OPKs a bit stressful, but I seem to have them worked out now - I clearly drink too much water! 🤣 🤦🏻‍♀️

@Happyhappy37 were you doing a big relocation or have I completely made that up?! 🙉

@Loladoodle relaxed definitely seems to be the best way! So good you've worked out the magic day! 😍 Deffo, don't want any witches this Halloween! 🧙‍♀️🧙‍♀️🧙‍♀️

whatever1980 · 28/10/2020 09:15

Hi @Vie8126 did you go for letsgetchecked or mediview? I think I may go for a test to see if there is any story there - definitely need a progesterone test as I think my hormones are all over the place. I get night sweats which I've had checked out before and it wasn't linked to menopause but would like it checked again

Loladoodle · 28/10/2020 09:43

@Happyhappy37 you have always been very zen 🧘‍♂️ during this journey! It’s very impressive I’m glad you are happy and enjoying life 🙌

@M4v3r1ck glad you are feeling much better! This whole thing is a massive emotional rollercoaster. PMS week hits me so hard! Every time! And despite all the af signs I still poas like a crazy lady 🤪

Happyhappy37 · 28/10/2020 10:22

@Vie8126 thank you. Good luck to you 😊
@M4v3r1ck oh yes you are correct.
@Loladoodle 😊 ive actually started university 😁. Its hard work

Good luck to you all. Don't forget to live your life to the fullest while you TTC. Positive vibes 😊🙏🏾

CC81 · 28/10/2020 10:41

Hi @Vie8126 - On the subject of tests, I don't know if you saw my previous post to @whatever1980, but you may find this helpful.

It's really important that you don't allow test results to freak you out and rule your expectations (like I did!). It causes a lot of stress and scientists don't agree on the importance of them.

Here's what I said, tweaked a bit... :)

I have very low AMH (low egg reserve) and have been told by an expert at a private clinic that it's still absolutely possible for me to get pregnant naturally.

Apparently there are lots of women walking around with low AMH who have no idea. Some get pregnant and some don't. It's all rather a lottery based on getting a 'good egg' in any given month.

He also said relaxing was very important... he says he wishes I hadn't found out about my low AMH!

However, it can be worth getting a scan done to check that everything else is working properly. My womb and ovaries are all normal and healthy; and soon I'm having a tubal patency test (NHS) to check for blockages.

I'm 39 and TTC #2... but we're currently trying to decide whether to simply accept our family of three (had our first easily when I was 36). Or alternatively, give IVF a try, to speed things along - but it's unlikely to work for us (as IVF is mostly about egg numbers).

I'm seeing a fertility counsellor to try to get my thoughts all sorted out.

Joanna1009 · 28/10/2020 11:40

@MamaMoonbeam thank you! I'm alright. I already have children from before my divorce and I never expected to be taking this journey again, but now I'm settled with a partner who has no children of his own, so here I am. I feel a little more anxious as when I was younger my cycles were so regular to within a couple of hours each month, and now they're 27-31 days. I'm using OP sticks and the premom app to track likely ovulation. I'm going through periods of feeling obsessed with it all, then periods of almost disinterest. Not a clue what's going on in my mind! How about you?

Vie8126 · 28/10/2020 11:56

@cc81 thank you for your comments it's all worth taking on board. I did read that in regard to AMH and also read that the at home tests aren't always fully accurate. I'm thinking of using results as a baseline of what to do next. Good luck with the counsellor it's so hard making decisions around ttc.

@whatever1980 mediview I went with turns up today for day 3 of cycle testing. I had night sweats a few years back at 35ish and assumed it was menopause checked and it wasn't but I still have them occasionally so not so sure now. My mum hit menopause at 43 when I had my oldest so family history is there for an early menopause although saying that my nan had 8 children and had her last at about my age so who knows haha.

Loladoodle · 28/10/2020 12:01

@Happyhappy37 wow that’s awesome 👏 and what a great distraction uni is definitely ALOT of work! Good luck hope it all goes well. I’m so glad my days of studying are over, put a final feather in my cap this month and most definitely not getting the books out again 😅 it’s hard work but so worthwhile also 👍

Loladoodle · 28/10/2020 15:57

@Happyhappy37 never too late! And it’s good to get the cogs turning

@CC81Amazing response whatever you decide wishing you well baby dust your way but I’m glad you are a very happy positive individual 😊
M4v3r1ck · 28/10/2020 20:19

@Happyhappy37 wow moving and studying - go you!!! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 As @Loladoodle says, I'm definitely glad my studying days are over! 😂

@CC81 I hope things go well with the fertility counsellor! 😘

@Vie8126 @whatever1980 hope you get answers soon with your tests! 🤞🏻

Been feeling nauseous for a few days here and some left side cramping, so treated myself to a McDonald's! 😈 Trying not to be too hopeful, but not too negative re: this month! It's such a challenge getting the balance right!

Highlandmama · 28/10/2020 23:07

@Happyhappy37 live your best life while TTC exactly!

Well ladies. I thought I would start “temping” if that’s the right phrase because we need another thermometer in the house and why not? Day 1 I have discovered it’s a total faff, didn’t work the first time (unless I was hypothermic) and won’t combine well with a toddler prone to waking up at weird times! Downloaded the Ovia app and have done something wrong already because fertile days are weeks away!! To persevere or just give up with the tracking and relax? Anyone have good (free) app recommendations?! CD7 here...cycle 6 of TTC.

CC81 · 29/10/2020 07:59

@Trying4mylastmiracle - Thank you! Some days I'm more positive than others, but I keep trying!

@Highlandmama - I've been temping for a while now, and to be honest I want to stop because it's such a faff! But haven't been able to because my Chinese acupuncturist likes to know how my chart is doing Grin

I've liked the acupuncture, but I'm going to stop soon. I currently go weekly for a session, which also includes massage and reflexology. And Chinese herbs.

It's nice, but very expensive - and it's just another series of things that makes me think about my fertility (when really I want to relax and think about the whole thing a lot less).

I just need to figure out how to tell them! It's so difficult... Shock

CC81 · 29/10/2020 08:04

Also, my period is late but I know it's not pregnancy... I felt stressed yesterday and nauseous today, which are generally signs that it's about to start.

Annoyingly, I needed my period to be over by next Tuesday, when I have my hyfosy tubal patency test at the hospital. But unless it starts today, that's unlikely! So I'll have to cancel Sad

It's hard to get the timing right for the test. It needs to be after my period but ideally before ovulation, so we don't lose a month of trying.
