I think I may be miscarrying 😔. I had 15-20min of quite intense tummy cramping this morning (which has now eased off and been replaced with intermittent quite mild on and off cramps) but I am spotting a bit when I wipe (nothing on a pad just yet)

kirinm · 19/10/2020 09:26

Oh @SS123456 I really hope it isn't that. This early stage is just awful. I know you already know this but bleeding doesn't necessarily mean it is over. I bled heavily with my DD until 17-18 weeks.

I'll keep my fingers tightly crossed for you.

SS123456 · 19/10/2020 09:38

Thanks @kirinm , I really hope it's all ok. If it wasn't for the bad cramping this morning I don't think I'd be so worried. It was an intense pain that was making me hot and clammy and I had to get my partner to take my son to school for me. Is a miscarriage normally a continual cramping or is it different in every case? Would I need to get checked at some point?

kirinm · 19/10/2020 09:49

With my miscarriages around 6 weeks, I had always started bleeding but I remember with my DD, I was adamant that I was about to miscarry due to the cramps I was having.

I think the only thing you can do is ask to have your hCG levels taken but an EPU might refuse to do that at the moment. I see on here that some EPUs are very proactive and others aren't at all. Are you officially late now?

whambam89 · 19/10/2020 09:58

@SS123456 I really hope everything is ok - have you tested again or have you managed to stay away from the tests? X

SS123456 · 19/10/2020 10:03

Thank you @kirinm. I've only had one pregnancy before who was my DS and he is 8 and a half now so this is all quite new to me. My period was due Monday 12th October so I think I would be around 4 weeks 5 days based on when I believe I ovulated. I think unless the cramping or bleeding gets worse I'll just ride it out and see what happens I guess. If nothing significant happens in the next week or 2 though I may book an early scan to see what is happening

kirinm · 19/10/2020 10:04

@SS123456 I think an EPU would see you for pain close to 6 weeks. It's pretty standard to be given a scan and they don't tend to do that until 6 weeks as not a great deal can be seen. Hopefully these are just normal early pregnancy cramps.

SS123456 · 19/10/2020 10:27

Ok great thank you. I stupidly just did a frer which barely even had a squinter on it so I think I need to prepare for the worse. This is so gutting after 13 month ttc

stickytoffeepud1991 · 19/10/2020 10:50

@SS123456 so sorry hun, hope you’re okay.
At our EPAU they won’t see you until 6 weeks for a scan unless your excessively bleeding. Otherwise they advise to put a pad on and continue to take pregnancy tests. I have all my fingers crossed for you xxx

LeopardLover · 19/10/2020 11:17

@SS123456 I'm sorry you're going through such a stressful time - hoping it's not anything other than early cramps. I didn't have spotting but mine were really strong. Worse than period pains and they lasted until maybe 8 weeks. X

Sansa87 · 19/10/2020 11:29

@Rotagilla I can’t believe that, surely it’s almost negligence they didn’t help you with the infection? I’m so sorry.

@SS123456 I’ve also had awfu cramps. One night I was rolling around on the bed, all night crying because of how painful. I also had slight bleeding. I had a hb on the scan two days later.

Everything crossed for you

SS123456 · 19/10/2020 11:34

@Sansa87 they were pretty bad this morning for about 15 mins but since then they have just been the 'normal' mild on and off ones I've had since the start. Thank you for the reassurance I really appreciate it

I really shouldn't have done the frer as that being barely a line has set me off with worry now as surely at 19dpo that should show any time of the day

SS123456 · 19/10/2020 11:35

@LeopardLover and @stickytoffeepud1991 thank you xx

Sansa87 · 19/10/2020 11:44

@SS123456 I can’t help you with the test, oh wouldn’t let me test again until 6 weeks and was only so I could see the 3+ on the digital.

SS123456 · 19/10/2020 12:04

Just had a proper bleed start so I think it's likely the start of the end 😔

whambam89 · 19/10/2020 12:15

@SS123456 I'm so sorry - I know bleeding can happen in early pregnancy so fingers crossed it's just that, although I can imagine how worried you must be. Sending you a big hug x

kirinm · 19/10/2020 12:17

@SS123456 I'm so sorry. Sending you lots of love x

SS123456 · 19/10/2020 13:06

Thank you so much ladies xx. Just had a good cry to my partner who is thankfully now working at home. I opened a letter and it was my booking appointment which pushed me over the edge a bit. My gut is telling me that this one wasn't meant to be and that the cramping this morning was 'different' so I'll just have to see what happens over the next day or so I guess. I take it you 'log' a miscarriage with the doctors just so it goes on your file do you? And should you get checked if you don't have a full period type bleed? Sorry I'm clueless on this

MrsB2019x · 19/10/2020 13:43

@SS123456 I am so sorry you’re going through such a stressful time. I really hope this isn’t a MC for you. I’d maybe call the GP to ask for advice then at least they will have made a note of it on your record. Gentle hugs 💙 x

@Rotagilla oh sweetheart I am so so sorry this has happened. And like you said very preventable.
Quite shocked you weren’t given antibiotics even if they hadn’t seen you, and I agree with negligence. Starting the course of antibiotics if you present with them symptoms is usually gold label guidelines and then a test after should follow and if negative you can stop with the antibiotics.
I am so sorry honestly my heart aches for you xxxxxz

SS123456 · 19/10/2020 19:12

@Rotagilla I completely agree with @stickytoffeepud1991 , this never should have happened to you ❤️

SS123456 · 20/10/2020 06:33

As I suspected it is 100% a mc unfortunately. I'm now bleeding the heaviest I have in a long time. It's so gutting after a very long 13 months ttc. I finally thought it was our time 😔

Sansa87 · 20/10/2020 06:51

I’m so sorry @SS123456 gentle hugs 😔

SS123456 · 20/10/2020 06:55

Thank you @Sansa87 ❤️. How long after your mc did you ovulate? I hope you are still doing ok

Sansa87 · 20/10/2020 07:08

@SS123456 if I took the day of surgery as cd1 I got my static smiley on cd20 so later than usual, but only by about 6 days x
