@SS123456 So sorry to hear this. I really thought it was your time too. I've read lots of stories on here about people getting their BFP the cycle following MC if you're ready to try again. Take the time you need, thinking of you x

MrsB2019x · 20/10/2020 07:49

I am so, so sorry @SS123456, I really wanted this to be it for you 💙 we are all here for you xx

@SS123456 I'm really sorry to hear you're going through this 😔 I hope your OH is looking after you. Thinking of you. X

SS123456 · 20/10/2020 09:57

Thank you @Sansa87 . Hopefully we will also be in a position to try again soon as well

Thank you so much ladies, your support really does help. I’m doing ok, still emotionally on the edge but that’s to be expected and I’m sure the sudden up and then down of hormones doesn’t help! I’m really bleeding this morning but thankfully no cramping, it is more like a heavy period. My OH had kept busy all day yesterday and was looking after me as well so it all caught up with him in the eve which was hard. We just had a super early night together cuddled up with a cry which I think we needed to do. I’ll be fine though, I think you just have to go through that period of letting it all out and then you just feel so much better don’t you ❤️

SS123456 · 20/10/2020 21:45

Thank you @stickytoffeepud1991 ❤️. How are you?

kirinm · 21/10/2020 07:25

Well I'm 9dpo and a BFN on an IC. Not feeling at all positive this month. Already feeling very pissed off. I struggle to see that it'll ever happen now.

kirinm · 21/10/2020 07:26

Also the ICs i bought have so many indents in. Even though I know they're there, it's hard to stop looking and hoping you're seeing something 🙄

MrsB2019x · 21/10/2020 08:10

There’s still time @kirinm, 9dpo is still super early and especially for a cheapie ☺️

I’m on CD9, only just stopped spotting. Wtf. I already have a bad feeling about this month, DH and I are both super stressed with work and don’t think that’s gonna help anything ☹️

SS123456 · 21/10/2020 09:22

@kirinm don't worry just yet, there is still plenty of time for this month. I have my fingers crossed for you 🤞🏻😊

SS123456 · 21/10/2020 09:23

@MrsB2019x that's strange, was it a much heavier period over all? Do you think you perhaps had a chemical?

MrsB2019x · 21/10/2020 10:01

@SS123456 Nah cos I never got a line of any sort to make me think it was chemical (apart from that weird horizontal one but I think that was an invalid test). I stopped bleeding on CD4/5 then it started up again on CD6. Unexpectedly. Overnight. 🙈😂

SS123456 · 21/10/2020 10:35

@MrsB2019x how strange our bodies can be! Hopefully it's just a one off 🤞🏻

I am going for my thyroid blood test tomorrow. I ordered it a few weeks ago (via medichecks) but because of the BFP I hadn't booked it in but the MC has now pushed me to get it done. The fertility person that recommended it to me said that a lot of women develop a thyroid issue post birth but just don't realise there is an issue as they assume they just feel a bit rubbish due to labour, birth, having a new born etc. She said that the fact I ovulate quite late in my cycle (around day 17) and I then have a short 11-12 day LP could indicate a hormone in-balance caused by the thyroid. Apparently this can stop you being able to support a pregnancy properly and I guess the MC has confirmed to me this could be what went wrong. It's weird as I don't want to have something wrong with me but at the same time if I do it could give me some closure on the loss and also help to try again moving forward

MrsB2019x · 21/10/2020 10:54

@SS123456 Hopefully you get some answers and it can be prevented again in the future ☺️ How are you doing? x

SS123456 · 21/10/2020 11:00

@MrsB2019x I am feeling much better today thank you. Still obviously completely devastated but I don't feel as awful about it as I did earlier in the week

whambam89 · 21/10/2020 11:10

@SS123456 hope you're feeling ok!

That sounds exactly like me - I ovulate around day 16/17 then have a short LP. How did you go about getting the checks? I've mentioned before that my mum has thyroid issues so I'm thinking that might likely be causing my issues too.

SS123456 · 21/10/2020 13:17

@whambam89 I did it privately through an online company called MediChecks. It is £69 for the check if you do it at home using their kits (using a finger prick kit) but I paid £30 more to have a needle in the arm test which you book to have done at a Superdrug store. I used them in June for a fertility test and got the results really quickly. I did that one as a finger prick test but I didn't like it (I'm sure others would be fine with it though) as I had to prick all my fingers to get enough blood which left my whole hand really sore and bruised. I though this time I'd prefer to pay and have the 'proper' blood test done instead

whambam89 · 21/10/2020 13:51

@SS123456 that's not bad then! Would the doctors not do it I'm guessing?

SS123456 · 21/10/2020 14:28

@whambam89 I actually didn't bother asking them as I have just found them really reluctant to even discuss fertility with me due to the fact I had a child already. They were very quick to tell me that the NHS can't help me so I haven't bothered with them again. Medichecks give you a full report after though so if you need to take it to your gp after you can

Let me know if you do one in the end. I should have my results at some point next week so I'll let you know the outcome

Apparently the thyroid and fertility link is quite common but I had never heard about it until a few weeks ago!

I went back to temping this morning and my bbt is still super high (the highest it has been in fact). I was quite surprised as I thought it would have dropped back down by now. When looking at my fitbit though my resting heart rate (which had spiked) has done a sharp drop back down now. Interestingly it had started to drop a bit over the weekend so perhaps that was a sign of what was to come

whambam89 · 21/10/2020 14:39

@SS123456 keep an eye on your BBT in case it's a sign of infection, hope you're looking after yourself 😘

Wondering whether to call the gp and approach it from a hereditary point of view rather than mentioning fertility. I have a few other "symptoms" such as tiredness, brittle hair and nails, dry skin and struggling to lose weight. Might try and give them a call tomorrow - if they'll test then it would be a bonus and will save me a few pounds and if not I can go through medichecks. Let me know how your results are! X
