Oooh that’s interesting @whambam89, Ill’ll ask my docs in April if we haven’t fallen by then as that’ll be a year since my methotrexate. I assumed they wouldn’t do anything because we conceived even though it was ectopic 🤷🏻‍♀️

whambam89 · 10/11/2020 12:21

@MrsB2019x I thought the same actually but thought it was worth an ask! Hopefully we'll both be a good few months along by then 🤞 does make you wonder how much the methotrexate actually affects your fertility - Google doesn't seem to know much about it either

MrsB2019x · 10/11/2020 16:06

@whambam89 We’ve gotta be by then surely 🙄 I’ve wondered that too, I know that anti inflammatory drugs temporarily reduce fertility so wonder if methotrexate does that too?

@MrsB2019x when are you going to test?!

whambam89 · 10/11/2020 16:31

@MrsB2019x I'm sure you've mentioned before but how long were you trying before your ectopic? We fell within 3/4 months and same with my DD so I'm sure that it must have affected me somehow...

Have you tested yet???

MrsB2019x · 10/11/2020 17:13

@kirinm @whambam89 I ended up testing this morning anyway lol and BFN. Just had some spotting so AF is on her way for sure!

It was 5 months before the ectopic x

OP posts:
whambam89 · 10/11/2020 19:23

@MrsB2019x sorry AF is on her way :( there's got to be another BFP on this thread soon! It's so hard isn't it x

MrsB2019x · 10/11/2020 21:20

AF 100% here now 👎 it’s nice to have had a 28 day cycle though, they have been 29-31 days post-ectopic, they were 27 before so hoping they’re getting a bit shorter again!

Sorry to hear that @MrsB2019x 😔

kirinm · 11/11/2020 07:32

Morning!

How is everyone?

I was wondering how @claireb7rg is. I think her fertility appointment was around now. Let us know how you are Claire.

MrsB2019x · 11/11/2020 08:31

Yeah I think you’re right @kirinm, best of luck @claireb7rg 💙

What’s with the irony of AF making you so bloated you look pregnant?! Ugh. 😖 Feeling like an absolute blob today

claireb7rg · 11/11/2020 08:33

Thanks lovelies, yes the appointment is this afternoon. I didn't get much sleep last night because of wondering about it will go and what will be said.

Will update you later xx

SS123456 · 11/11/2020 10:43

All my fingers are crossed for you @claireb7rg 🤞🏻🤞🏻😁. Let us know how it goes

I had my progesterone blood test done this morning. They took 4 vials of blood which I was quite surprised about!

whambam89 · 11/11/2020 10:52

@Claireb7rg hope you get on ok x

@ss123456 hopefully you get some answers! Did they say how long for results?

Rotagilla · 11/11/2020 10:56

Hope all goes well @claireb7rg ❤️
Let us know how it goes...

@SS123456 that does sound a lot but then again I'm such a baby that I can't watch so no idea how much they take!
I've had to come back to the same department that I was scanned in after the miscarriage, I cried all the way here....strange how things hit you when you think you are ok 😢

SS123456 · 11/11/2020 11:06

@whambam89 no they didn't say, it was a very rushed in and out due to covid but I wasn't complaining as it meant less time waiting around in a mask! I guess I'll just give the gp a call next week and see if they are back or not 🤷🏻‍♀️

Oh @Rotagilla I can completely see how that would be a massive trigger and upsetting. You are not wrong to feel that way at all. Big hugs for you ❤️

Rotagilla · 11/11/2020 11:45

Well I held myself together and the appointment was very reassuring.
I will take aspirin and progesterone with any future pregnancy and will be consultant led.
But they have asked me not to get pregnant until my next appointment which is mid February.

kirinm · 11/11/2020 12:18

@Rotagilla I'm pleased you found the appointment reassuring. How do you feel about being asked to wait until February? Is there a reason for that?

SS123456 · 11/11/2020 12:39

@Rotagilla I'm so glad they are looking into things for you! Are you ok with waiting? I'm convinced I need progesterone too

MrsB2019x · 11/11/2020 12:43

Oh @Rotagilla how heartbreaking. I’m so glad the appointment was reassuring though, even if you do have to wait a while. Are you okay? 💙

Hopefully you get some results soon @SS123456!

whambam89 · 11/11/2020 13:29

@Rotagilla hoping you're ok after your appointment ♥️ how are you feeling about waiting until Feb? X

whambam89 · 11/11/2020 13:31

@MrsB2019x just properly catching up on the thread - my cycles have been 25-32 days post-ectopic so it must mess with your body quite a lot. I've always been 29 days before that. Hope you're ok, I know AF arriving always knocks me back a bit x

MrsB2019x · 11/11/2020 13:45

@whambam89 It must do, they don’t really tell you much about it do they! My periods have been a lot more painful since the ectopic too.
I’ve been surprisingly okay about AF arriving actually considering how I reacted last month 😂 obviously I’m a bit disappointed but I’m just getting on with it. How are you getting on?

OP posts:
whambam89 · 11/11/2020 14:31

@MrsB2019x last month hit me harder too for some reason! I'm just plodding on.. finished work for the week now, not that we can do much 😂 I think I've realised that it is going to take time and the thing that's affecting me most is that everyone else seems to be getting pregnant 🤦🏻‍♀️

claireb7rg · 11/11/2020 15:04

They've rang us, and to be honest we're none the wiser.

It looks like I am ovulating but they think the bloods were done on the wrong day of my cycle as the number was 21.
Looks like MrRG is not producing sperm at all, his first SA showed almost 0 sperm and the ones that were visible weren't moving great and the 2nd SA the volume had only gone up to 0.5million and again not many moving well. His fsh level was really high so his testes are struggling to produce sperm, May not actually be related to his undescended testicles either, she didn't seem bothered that he had had them.

They want to send us both for more tests, me to check ovarian reserve and him for urology tests.

But even if they can do something with him and I have good eggs there's still only a very slim chance of a successful pregnancy from ivf.

I think we are both decided that we aren't going to go for the further tests and will look into adoption but we are going to give it a few days to decide for definite
