@notyetamumbuttrying

Hi nice to meet you 😊

No I haven't been to the drs yet as it seems such a scary step to take 😕
No AF again this morning so I'm going to leave until tomorrow and try a test in the morning

Hope things go well for you this month x

Annny27 · 15/10/2020 13:20

@Katie12346 definitely take a test tomorrow. How exciting :D

@notyetamumbuttrying p.s I am feeling even less optimistic now girls as the sperm analysis came back to us and whilst they originally said the count was high, its actually low sperm concentration (13 mil per ml when it should be 15 miles per ml)

So overall the count is at 59mil (39 threshold) and is therefore good, but the concentration isn't:/

RobinRose · 15/10/2020 13:45

@Annny27 can I ask how long it took to get the results back from dp analysis? Still waiting for dps results! Have they explained if the concentration will affect anything?

Annny27 · 15/10/2020 13:46

@RobinRose it took about 2 and a half weeks and that was with some chasing!!

The GP was really crap tbh and said it was all fine (clearly wasn't haha) so he is booking another GP appointment and asking to speak to a urologist and to arrange a 2nd repeat sample

RobinRose · 15/10/2020 13:53

@Annny27 it has been two weeks and one day and I have chased today so hopefully hear back soon! How frustrating, I don't think the GPs know what they are looking at sometimes! Will it take long to request a second sample?

notyetamumbuttrying · 15/10/2020 14:25

@Katie12346 I know what you mean but you won't regret it once you start! Good luck for tomorrow and thank you 😊
@Annny27 that's not too bad though! My Dh was 5mil so we're really screwed lol! His overall count was only 25mil 😟

Katie12346 · 15/10/2020 21:10

Period has arrived 😞 this one really hit me, for the first time since ttc I've had a good cry about it..
Hope someone else out there manages better luck this month ❤️

Annny27 · 15/10/2020 21:16

@robinrose hopefully they come back soon and that its good news!

@notyetamumbuttrying thanks lovely! Its rubbish this ttc stuff isn't it haha

@katie12346 so sorry lovely:( I had a big cry last month after a few months if not crying and being quite positive! Xx

notyetamumbuttrying · 15/10/2020 21:25

@Katie12346 ahh sorry darlin! It's shit innit. Get a hot water bottle and a gin and some chocolate. That's my go to! X
@Annny27 erm yeah, just a bit 😂 I'm just playing the waiting game for the second SA so that we can get a move on with ivf! I just don't see it happening naturally with the way his sperm is. He's not even overweight or mad unhealthy! I guess years of smoking and Saturdays down the pub really took its toll! Confused

Narwhal88 · 16/10/2020 08:33

@Katie12346 sorry sweetie. My period is due tomorrow and already spotting and cramping so it's coming! It's just so shit.

@Annny27 @notyetamumbuttrying my husbands first SA was only 2 million/ml and total count 17m 😭 2nd was 4m/ml and total 31m so still below both of yours for the concentration!

I keep thinking I'm an idiot for still getting my hopes up a little each month, but then I think at least I still have hope and that's all we can do isn't it? Just really want IVF to hurry up now.

What's everyone up to this weekend? I have a 6 person hen party for my sister in law to be tomorrow! Right when period is due - always great timing isn't it?!

Originalusername6432762 · 16/10/2020 10:36

@notyetamumbuttrying
It took me three days just to clean one room so I'm not much use 😂

Not meaning to sound paranoid, but have you guys heard of anything about covid affecting conception? I haven't heard anything, just wondering x

notyetamumbuttrying · 16/10/2020 12:46

@Narwhal88 I think having hope is good! I feel like I haven't got any anymore 😒 got peak today and I half wonder what's the point but may as well still try and miracles do happen I suppose! So are you waiting to get ivf on the nhs? Forgive me for not remembering. I have a 6 person baby shower to attend! At least the mum to be knows our struggles so won't be too over the top! Hope you enjoy the hen despite the period. Get the painkillers down ya!

@Originalusername6432762 ooh I bet it's spotless though!! Covid shouldn't affect it, I've seen stuff say it doesn't affect pregnant women so I can't see how it'd affect conception.

OP posts:
Narwhal88 · 16/10/2020 13:25

@notyetamumbuttrying yeah still feel like we should try as you never know. We are waiting for our next appointment on 24th November for results of husbands genetic testing and she said she will most probably refer for IVF on nhs at this appointment. It will be via Care fertility with NHS funding as they don't have an NHS ivf unit in my area. No waiting list so I'm hoping we can start in the new year.
Thanks, hope the baby shower isn't too hard for you, I think I'd much rather a hen! Other times of the month I'd feel stronger to cope with a baby shower but not CD1!

There have been no reports of covid affecting conception or pregnancy, whilst it's too early to know for sure, I very much doubt it. Though if you had a fever that could delay ovulation...

kerrym87 · 16/10/2020 13:41

My OH sent an e-consult to GP 2 weeks ago requesting a SA as once that's done we're getting referred to fertility clinic. However they still haven't even got back to him despite emailing to say they'd received request. Angry I'm fed up it's been 13 months ttc, long cycles and multiple (at least 4) episodes ewcm and just want to get it moving as waiting list with covid could be looooong.......sorry for everyone who's AF has arrived/Is going to, and all of us on here, fingers, eyes legs crossed!

notyetamumbuttrying · 17/10/2020 20:12

@Narwhal88 ooh that would be good! Baby shower went well! Only 6 of us and mum to be knows we're trying and the latest so it was all good!
@kerrym87 best of luck and keep chasing! The only way to get things moving! X

OP posts:
Tofu35 · 17/10/2020 21:09

Glad the shower went well @notyetamumbuttrying :)

notyetamumbuttrying · 17/10/2020 21:14

Aww thanks @Tofu35! How you doing? X

OP posts:
Narwhal88 · 17/10/2020 23:20

@kerrym87 I would just keep hassling them, it's annoying that you have to but it gets things done!

@notyetamumbuttrying glad the baby shower went well. The hen was ok. Though one of them announced she was pregnant as it looked odd she wasn't drinking and had morning sickness, which was a surprise. we had a baby shower right behind us as well. Held it together but it took all my strength, was seriously not in the mood. The evening was better though.
When people talk about kids like it's just so easy it really gets to me. I feel like I can't be around people anymore as I'm too bitter.

notyetamumbuttrying · 18/10/2020 09:07

@Narwhal88 I understand the bitter feelings! I just try and think that it'll happen for us one day just not necessarily how we first thought! Glad you had a nice time anyway though. Is she planning on getting married this year then? I wouldn't know what to do only having 15 ppl at my wedding, it's such a small number! I'm forever grateful that we got married last year, it nearly might've been this year as my sister was also getting married in 2019, and luckily was fine with me sharing the year.

OP posts:
Narwhal88 · 18/10/2020 09:39

@notyetamumbuttrying yeah the wedding is next month. It was meant to be July and had to be postponed, they didn't want to postpone again so it's only 15 people, such a shame. I'm grateful I got married last year as well, I wouldn't have wanted just 15 so likely would have postponed to 2021, not sure what we would have done about ttc though. I know they will be ttc as soon as they are married so trying to mentally prepare myself for that as I always thought I would give my parents the first grandchild.

notyetamumbuttrying · 18/10/2020 14:19

@Narwhal88 they might not conceive before you, but if they do I'm sure they'll be sensitive towards your feelings. My sister is 18 months younger than me and had her first child 10 years ago. I was so far from wanting one in my 20's! We all go down to different paths don't we. They never planned a second but she's extremely chuffed! Not sure her husband was when they found out lol but the baby is truly scrumptious so I'm sure he's happy now too. They bought a 2bed a while bk with the intention of doing it up and moving in. It's ready now, but now they have a baby as well as a 10 yr old, so they'll be moving again a LOT sooner 😂

OP posts:
Annny27 · 18/10/2020 14:27

@Narwhal88 it sucks like a club you can't get into :( I was on a video chat on Friday and they are all telling their birth stories and I was just mute for like an hour. Like I can tell you my horrific miscarriage story if you want but that would dampen the mood haha!

@notyetamumbuttrying glad it went well lovely! Are you in tww now?

My period started this morning so cd1!

notyetamumbuttrying · 18/10/2020 15:04

@Annny27 oh jeez the tact of some ppl eh!
Yeah guess I am. 1dpo for me, might see if he'll go again today, for luck 😉 sorry your period started 😔

OP posts:
Tofu35 · 18/10/2020 16:15

Hope this is your month @annny27!

Back on my CB ovulation stick nonsense, according to the temp app my predicted date is this Thurs, so I'll be POAS until then, or beyond! Trying to get other half to 'properly' use pre-seed this month, as a few people on the other thread I was on had success with that (which meant the thread became more and more empty!).

Hope we all have nice Sunday evening plans

Narwhal88 · 18/10/2020 17:38

@notyetamumbuttrying my brother and sister in law are 7 years younger hence me always thinking I would be first. I would have started trying in my 20s but DH didn't want to. They don't know about our struggles as he doesn't want people knowing so it's difficult.
That's nice how happy you are for your sister :) they'll just have to do another house up now!

@Annny27 that is tough. I feel for you. I'm not sure I could handle it, I think I would have left the video. My period started this morning too 😒
