Super sperm! Oh wow @yutes! The whole appointment thing is draining, you spend so long chasing it, the waiting for it and thinking of all the potential outcomes, then the appointment and then the inevitable crash after before it all starts again!

@wicketbasket, welcome! I was saying in another thread when my friend got pregnant on her first month, her partner started saying "why do people say it's hard, just have sex at the right time". Oh aye, is that all?

@Theawkwardblonde take care of yourself, comfy clothes and nice comfort foods on the menu!

WicketBasket · 16/12/2020 16:29

I hear this @Tofu35 Grin It grinds my gears when people say this, it’s like oh right thanks, I was just intermittently squeezing an orange over my head and then doing the cha cha slide in the hopes of getting pregnant. I shall try having sex instead 😂

Annny27 · 16/12/2020 17:02

@WicketBasket my friend asked me if I was making sure he was ejaculating inside me? Ummmm no I usually just swallow it and expect it to go to the cervix? 🤣🤣🤣

RobinRose · 16/12/2020 17:47

@notyetamumbuttrying yes dp has children!

@WicketBasket you never no, after going around in circles for a while they could get dizzy and go in the right direction?! 😉

Motherofkittens28 · 16/12/2020 19:52

@WicketBasket I think they move in circles if the morphology is poor because they are misshapen, did they give you a morphology %?

notyetamumbuttrying · 16/12/2020 20:12

@Yutes great news for DP! What's next for you then? It just makes me feel like it's one step further along the process. No more appointments for us until end of feb so I need to busy myself with other stuff now.
@WicketBasket don't you just hate them 😖 😂 oh I see, I never got that level of detail, just that everything was basically low so natural conception is highly unlikely! We're just waiting for our ivf appointment now. 22nd feb. They said we should be able to sign paperwork that day for funding so I'm hoping we can start as soon as March! Not sure it's that simple but we shall see!
@RobinRose ah I see. Is everything ok with you from the tests?
@Annny27 haha 😆 some ppl eh! I despair talking to those who got pregnant at the drop of a hat! I wanna say, well done you for marrying someone with functioning sperm. 👏🏾 good guess work 😂
@Motherofkittens28 this seems to make sense! Mine got 2.3% so they must go in circles too, or backwards 😳 @WicketBasket

WicketBasket · 16/12/2020 20:39

@Annny27😂😂 good answer!

@RobinRose I’ll keep my fingers crossed that they just tizzy themselves to the right place 😂🤞

@Motherofkittens28 So he’s had two SA within the last 6 months- the first showed morphology of 2% and the second then showed normal morphology percentage but this undirected movement. The pace or speed of movement in both was fine so I’m not sure what this means Confused They didn’t give me any more information about what this means going forward and just said they would see me when ‘covid is over’ AngrySad

Xxx

WicketBasket · 16/12/2020 20:40

Oh that’s brilliant news @notyetamumbuttrying! I’m over the moon for you if things can get going that quickly! Fingers crossed for you my lovely 😊💕 xx

notyetamumbuttrying · 16/12/2020 20:46

Thanks @WicketBasket here's hoping!
So what did they class as normal morphology? Was it 3 or 4%. My area classed 3 as normal but I know most use 4%. Interesting on the direction thing. My Dh's must either go in circles or backwards with his sort of levels. So did your Dh sort his lifestyle out to get an improvement? We won't get our second SA until the appointment date in feb now. Frustrating as he did the first one end of aug and started making changes in sept so I'm dying to know if they've made any difference or not!

OP posts:
WicketBasket · 16/12/2020 21:09

In my case, normal morphology was classed as 4% @notyetamumbuttrying.
I didn’t even know about direction but a doctor that we went to, who arranged the second SA said that he suspected that the sperm weren’t moving correctly and that’s what came back on the report!

My DH basically tried to eat healthier and was convinced that lots of milk was the way forward so would have a glass every night before bed. He’s pretty active in his day job so didnt really have to change activity levels and I tried to get him to take a multivitamin (wellman) but he was a bit hit and miss with it.

Ah yes I see! There’s been a good portion of time since august so I’m hoping that your DH’s swimmers will also be perking up! Apparently three months is the time expected to make a change and you’re past that now so keep your chin up Smile Feb is just around the corner, think how quickly this year has gone. Christmas is next week!!! Xmas Shock You’ve got this 💪🏻 Xxx

notyetamumbuttrying · 16/12/2020 22:07

@WicketBasket so what's next steps for you two then?
I hope you're right. Could do with getting on with it now. Turn 35 in March 😒 x

Absolutely howling at the recent posts about doing it properly from @Annny27 @WicketBasket @Tofu35
I had the horrific conversation with my mother which went quite similar. She genuinely wanted to make sure we were using the right hole and that 'it all stayed in'. Kill me now 😂😂🤦🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️

kerrym87 · 17/12/2020 06:19

@Theawkwardblonde that is hilarious! Glad day mother isn't that graphic.....can't rage everyone as too many but fingers crossed for new year when tests and appointments seem to be abounding. I think my OH needs to make more effort so hoping getting weighed at clinic *I really hope they do it!) Will give another kick up the arse as j worry about future health (nurse, plus i have ME).
Got annoyed with co-worker who posted what seemed like a Christmas miracle post with a scan in....which actually was a scan of a liver and a joke....heart went into my mouth and was getting ready to curse at the world! Bah........had 10dpo major temp drop to coverline but this has happened before. Just waiting for AF so I can drink and have stinky cheese for Xmas!😂

kerrym87 · 17/12/2020 06:20

Sorry my autocorrect went a bit weird on that post....my mother, can't tag everyone

Yutes · 17/12/2020 06:30

@notyetamumbuttrying
I think they want me to take norethistone and then letrozole. And get bloods to test it’s working. Fingers crossed we’ve got a fighting chance in 2021. Ive went since May without a bleed Blush

Yutes · 17/12/2020 06:31

Actually laughed at the mother conversations. Sorry guys! Grin

Tofu35 · 17/12/2020 09:00

@theawkwardblonde the wrong hole 😂 brilliant chat!

WicketBasket · 17/12/2020 09:02

Aww @notyetamumbuttrying keep your spirits up! I know what you mean, would rather just get on with stuff but the new year is just around the corner so I’m hoping things get put into place quickly for you Flowers

As for next steps for me, I have no idea Confused Gynae have said they will see me when ‘covid is over’- what the bleeding heck is that supposed to mean?? HmmGrin xxx

WicketBasket · 17/12/2020 09:03

Oh @Theawkwardblonde you poor thing 😂😂😂 you should have answered with ‘wait what?? There’s more than one hole?’ Grin

crazycatlady1981 · 17/12/2020 09:22

Hey everyone!
Sorry I’ve been absent for a few weeks, had so much work on, but it’s all calming down now finally!
Just caught up on everyone’s news!

@SS123456 OMG!! That’s amazing! So happy for your BFP!
Loving the helpful and hysterical suggestions from everyone’s friends and mums on how to get pregnant!! 🤣 Wrong hole, that’s brilliant!!

So my latest news, a few weeks ago DH finally allowed me to make appt for his SA at hospital, but couldn’t get one until end of Jan, so I decided that as we are going to go private anyway, to just bite the bullet and contact private clinic to get the ball rolling. So it all happened really quickly! DH had SA this week along with our initial consult and scan yesterday! Plus I did postal AMH test prior to consultation!
We went in fully expecting bad results all round and preparing ourselves to hand over our life savings to get IVF, but it turns out DH sperm is good (he didn’t give us any numbers though) my scan was good and AMH is just over 6 which is a good result apparently. He then said he recommends that we don’t need to go through anymore tests, just go straight to IVF and told us that we are totally eligible for funding on NHS (despite DH donating sperm to lesbian friend years ago) as he’s not legal parent so it doesn’t count! And he’s going to write to the satellite clinic near us and get us seen asap!! We literally left the place feeling like we’d just won the lottery and huge weight lifted off our shoulders!! 😁
Doubt has crept back in again today though and trying not to get excited until I get the letter from clinic to start the process!! He did say to contact him if we don’t hear anything by the new year!
Sorry for the long post!! Just needed to tell someone about it!!

RobinRose · 17/12/2020 10:31

@notyetamumbuttrying I have only had day3 and day21 bloods which were fine, I have had multiple scans before which haven't shown anything. Not sure what how the fertility clinic can help...

@crazycatlady1981 that is fabulous news! Must be a big weight lifted for you both

crazycatlady1981 · 17/12/2020 10:46

@RobinRose yes it’s a huge relief! DH is also much happier now he’s had good results! He was a proper grumpy pants earlier in the week when he was having to do SA and wait for results!! It’s our fertile week so it was very difficult to get him in the mood!! 🙄 but he’s much more up for it since the results came through!
Thankfully I hadn’t yet ovulated when I had my scan so hopefully our timing this month will be spot on! 🤞🏻Would much rather conceive naturally if possible!!

crazycatlady1981 · 17/12/2020 10:47

@RobinRose how long have you been ttc?

SS123456 · 17/12/2020 11:08

@crazycatlady1981 thank you! 😊

I do have a genuine tip though to try. This is my third pregnancy and each time it have followed me 'finishing' after OH has. It could be a complete coincident but these are the only 3 times things have panned out that way when dtd and each time I got a bfp. Maybe the contractions push the swimmers where they need to be? 🤷🏻‍♀️. No harm in giving it a shot! (Pun unintended 😂)

SS123456 · 17/12/2020 11:09

It has, not it have!
