@Motherofkittens28 do you have children or does your partner have children already? I would have thought they would offer ivf on nhs if both are childless

Motherofkittens28 · 14/12/2020 17:17

@Annny27 I'm 38 so im too old for ivf in my area. Neither of us have kids no.

Annny27 · 14/12/2020 17:28

Thats so gutting because some areas its 40 :( @Motherofkittens28 I would go straight to ivf tbh and if it fails then do the investigation into endometriosis xxx

Annny27 · 14/12/2020 17:30

@Motherofkittens28 oh jusy seen it could affect implantation! Ahh if its only a two month gap for the surgery then I think its worth waiting to make your ivf chances better xx

Motherofkittens28 · 14/12/2020 18:03

@Annny27 that was what I was thinking. No point spending thousands on the ivf if the endo will stop it from working. Where we live the cut off for ivf is 35!

notyetamumbuttrying · 14/12/2020 18:07

@Motherofkittens28 I say get the lap done first, you can still get in with a clinic now so that everything is ready to go after the lap results! X

Feeling really nervous. Got my appointment with the consultant tomorrow.

Meanwhile, I took a break from BBT temping, and restarted it this week. It would be incredibly ironic if I haven’t ovulated all year and it happens the week I stopped temping.

Hope you’re all doing well

kerrym87 · 15/12/2020 08:26

@Motherofkittens28 that's a bummer it's such as postcode lottery! If it's a case of a physical appointment for the wait you could keep ringing to see of there's been a cancellation, that's how I've got into other clinics quicker x
@Yutes good luck, let us know how it goes x

Annny27 · 15/12/2020 08:38

Morning! AF arrived last night so onto month 19 I think haha!

Ahh well, its all in God's timing even if its frustrating for me at the time.

@yutes good luck! I also stopped temping as it was an unnecessary stress and I am pretty confident with when I ovulate from cm and other signals:)

@Motherofkittens28 where we live you only get 1 round of ivf on nhs whereas my friends area gets 3! Its so unfair the discrepancies.

@kerrym87 that reminds me, I have to call the clinic today to get a 2nd SA for my hubby haha

@notyetamumbuttrying have you told anyone specifically that DH has the speem issues? My husband doesn't want me telling one in real life

Annny27 · 15/12/2020 12:38

P.s I was a bit cheeky and called the fertility clinic and asked when they would be sending the next sperm analysis form as my DH last had it in September and they are sending it out today :) I think sometimes because fertility issues aren't life threatening or emergencies that you have to take it into your own hands often to get stuff sorted. He may be able to get a test slot just after Christmas hopefully!

notyetamumbuttrying · 15/12/2020 13:15

@Annny27 yeah I've been telling ppl. He doesn't know though, although he can probably guess as I'm a bit of an over sharer!
@Yutes good luck for tomorrow!
@kerrym87 how are you today?

OP posts:
kerrym87 · 15/12/2020 15:10

@notyetamumbuttrying thanks for asking! Last 2-3 days I've actually been feeling fuzzy and just wiped out, felt a bit off at weekend with no reason, not like ME but think it might be cos shifts have been busy and I've been stressing more! Either 8 or 9 dpo(possibly as been harder to track this cycle!) So I've got another 7-8 days before I know what's what.
I can't remember who said it but getting annoyed at OH for not doing all they can....totally get that as mine has cut down massively on alcohol but still having it (i wish he'd just stop) and although trying to lose weight not being particularly as proactive as he could be. Wish he's just do all we can as I dont think he has an inkling of the stress and tests and interventions that we could need. Just hope they don't refuse us for his weight when that's something he can manage better.
@Annny27 I work for nhs and accessed as a patient....nothing works better than many mildly irritating polite nudges to get a move on!

notyetamumbuttrying · 15/12/2020 17:57

@kerrym87 hope you feel better soon or that this feeling means pregnancy! Think we all said about our stupid men not stepping up 😂 mine said he'd stop drinking but he drank last week at a work event and he drank yesterday. It was his grandmas funeral mind so I'll let that one slide!
I'm gonna have to chase up our clinic and see if we can get any of the tests done ourselves rather than waiting for this 22nd feb appointment, you've inspired me ladies! Annoyingly though the referrals in Dh's name as it came via his urologist, but I am named in the paperwork so should be alright still.

Tofu35 · 15/12/2020 21:30

Wee update: had my hycosy test and everything came back okay, the gyno said it was difficult to see the dye on the left side but saw it reached the ovary on that side so after hunting around with 'the wand' she found what she was looking for.

Not painful, but definitely not comfortable or normal when you feel the dye be injected and then feel it move around the system.

When I get the formal report in, I've to send it to my gp and the Nhs fertility clinic and then we can see our next steps.

notyetamumbuttrying · 15/12/2020 21:37

@Tofu35 good news then! Pleased all seems ok x

Tofu35 · 15/12/2020 21:48

Another box ticked off the to-do list, @notyetamumbuttrying!

notyetamumbuttrying · 15/12/2020 22:13

@Tofu35 that's it isn't it. Makes this whole thing more bearable!

OP posts:
kerrym87 · 16/12/2020 08:37

@Tofu35 that's one thing done and hopefully if you're confirmed as being ok it will give your OH a much needed kick up the arse, just counting down to the appt to see if they'll do investigations.

@Annny27 fingers crossed next SA is better. It's a bummer about who gets IVF and who doesn't.

trying not to symptom spot this time but so hard as it'll coincide with xmas, not feeling nauseous but feeling more yukky and off food a bit, normally want to eat everything in sight!

Theawkwardblonde · 16/12/2020 14:15

@notyetamumbuttrying I'm alright thanks! Slightly peeved this month as private clinic have decided to up their quote by £900 so it's not doable for us now. Still have to go for private consultation in January for my blood test results with them. Why is this TTC lark so bloody faffy 😂😂
Husband is still awaiting SA. Had his consultation and they're just awaiting a referral. So we are no further forward. AF landed today too so I'm in feral mode. I'm assuming I actually ovulated this month as my AF is finally back to its vengeful self which is a good thing I guess 😂
Hope everyone's Christmas plans are going well! I'm at work Christmas so thankfully escaping festivities!

RobinRose · 16/12/2020 14:27

So the gp got back to me today re referal, it was sent yesturday (so two weeks later than advised) gp said it isn't an urgent referral which I appreciate but had I not chased it, it would probably still be 'pending'. He also confirmed we definitely would not be considered for IVF (not a route I/we won't to go down but kind of sucks the option isn't there if all else fails) Not really sure what to expect now, wait to hear from the clinic in the new year I guess?

@Theawkwardblonde how frustrating for you! Sorry arrived, you better hit the booze and chocolate! Hope dps analysis does not take too long.

Afdue boxing day i think (oh the joys!)

WicketBasket · 16/12/2020 15:04

Hello everyone 👋🏽

Can I join? Getting a bit fed up, TTC number one for 13 months now and am in the TWW- have just found out that my SIL is pregnant having caught 2 weeks after starting to try Confused She didn’t even have one unsuccessful cycle so just need to vent a bit about how down I’m feeling :( I’m happy for her but just a bit fed up about my own situation and to top it off I’m having my usual pre AF cramps so that looks like another month gone Sad

I had a question. Anyone have any positive stories with SA showing OH’s sperm to move at a good pace but just round in circles? Have tried Googling people’s experiences and have come up with nothing so am getting quite low about it all. Thank you for reading xxx

notyetamumbuttrying · 16/12/2020 15:35

@WicketBasket welcome! We've all been there with those being pregnant by just looking at a penis! 🙄
Has your Dh had his SA yet? I never got told how it was moving, just that they barely were at all!
@RobinRose why wouldn't you get ivf? Is it unexplained infertility then or do either of you have a child already?
@Theawkwardblonde heya, I remember from the other thread, what a faff! Sorry hun! X

Yutes · 16/12/2020 16:11

Well... the appointment went really well. DP has super sperm! And I need to induce a period and get 21 day bloods. All in all not bad.

Does anyone just feel totally overwhelmed after appointments ? I just feel totally wiped now after waiting for it

WicketBasket · 16/12/2020 16:16

Hi @notyetamumbuttrying! Thanks for letting me join! Yes that’s exactly how I feel, people get breathed on and boom, pregnant Grin
Yes he’s had his SA- the report says good movement of sperm but that they’re moving in circles, which I’m guessing doesn’t really help them get anywhere near where they are supposed to BlushHmm Any success stories of this? Xx

WicketBasket · 16/12/2020 16:17

Oops @notyetamumbuttrying, posted without actually finishing! Grin Yep so was just after some experiences really!
How are you getting on? You said your DH’s sperm are barely moving! Bugger to that Sad Have you been told what the next steps are or what this actually means for you? Sending you lots of love and Flowers xxx
