@Chel93 It depends on why they are blocked but I think the usual treatment for blocked tubes is IVF. I think sometimes they can do surgery but if they are completely blocked maybe it isn't an option. Did they go through the blockage with you? I assume your area doesn't offer IVF or maybe you don't meet the criteria?
Low morphology isn't normally too much of an issue on its own if he has a high count. Otherwise giving up alcohol, caffeine, wearing loose boxers, no hot baths etc and taking a conception vitamin like wellman conception or proxeed plus could help.

Chel93 · 02/12/2020 00:52

@notyetamumbuttrying does he my oh is 1% 😩 why can't things just be so simple and easy for us all, hes been taking wellman and ive been trying to force fruit and veg down him haha also cut right down on smoking just need to get him off them all together, he would be due a repeat now but been discharged so not sure what to do
@Narwhal88 really i didnt think they would leave people with blocked tubes, no she didn't really have a clue to be honest she couldn't read the notes from the sonograoher just discharged me but wasn't my normal consultant so might ring and ask for a second opinion, i already have a child so were not able to get it funded

notyetamumbuttrying · 02/12/2020 08:54

@Chel93 1% isn't great. Hopefully the wellman and increased fruit n veg have made some improvements, especially if his count and motility is alright. He defo needs to quit smoking tho, my Dh's urologist told him to stop drinking altogether too so he has now. When you call your regular consultant I'm sure they'll be able to arrange another SA. It's good to know that they've improved otherwise you're on a losing game of not knowing what's going on. Although you can do private SA's so at least that could be an option.

Hi, this is my first post on here. I’m 26 and my partner is 29. We have been trying for just under 2 years now and still no luck, I’ve been tested for PCSO and my partner is currently waiting for results, this month we felt like things were different for us and I’m currently a week late although my periods are fairly irregular. I’ve take 2 tests and both have been negative. This is by far the worst I’ve felt about the situation. It’s hard to find someone to talk to who understands. I know I’m still young and there’s time but it doesn’t make it any less heartbreaking each month. X

Narwhal88 · 02/12/2020 18:43

@Len56 welcome and sorry you are here. It's really really rubbish. My period is due in a few days and I've started spotting, cycle 23, it gets easier to handle but it's still as heartbreaking. Have you had any other tests done yet?

@Chel93 definitely speak to someone else who can explain the results as you need to know what is going on. That's really bad to just discharge you without giving you answers. If your tubes are completely blocked and surgery isn't an option the only way you will conceive will be IVF unfortunately which you will have to pay for.

Chel93 · 02/12/2020 20:40

@notyetamumbuttrying ino im hoping all his vitamins has helped just need to get him off his 2 ciggis a day now 🤞 ye his count and motility was perfect so hopefully the morphology will get better, he going to ring his gp tomorrow and ask for another SA so hopefully they do it
@narwhal88 ino I just want answers as to why they are blocked i had a missed miscarriage in July so its only a recent thing, I rang a local fertility clinic today and they wasn't too happy ive been discharged with out any investigation so they have told me to ring my GP first thing and get an emergency referral to the women's hospital for further tests to find out why and if anything can be done, so hopefully i get answers if it does come to that I need ifv we will save it make take time but we'll do it 🤞🤞

Motherofkittens28 · 03/12/2020 10:30

Morning all, just got the results back from OH's repeat SA, count is up from 37mill to 43mill and morphology is up from 2.5% to 4%! So pleased that the morphology is up now, OH in two minds as this means he has to continue not drinking as its obviously working!

Annny27 · 03/12/2020 10:35

@motherofkittens28 that's great news!!! Is 43mil the overall count or the per ml count?

Motherofkittens28 · 03/12/2020 10:38

Hi @Annny27, that's the count per ml I dont think she told me the overall count.

notyetamumbuttrying · 03/12/2020 10:45

@Motherofkittens28 that is amazing! Please can you tell me what he changed in his lifestyle and added in, or was it purely cutting out drinking?
@Chel93 fingers crossed hun!

Motherofkittens28 · 03/12/2020 10:58

@notyetamumbuttrying he cut down his alcohol from drinking at least one beer a day and several at weekends to two beers a week. He also stopped smoking, he was only smoking 1 a day on average before but now he has cut it out completely. He also started taking Zita west vitamen, zita west DHA and black matcha root (my acupuncture lady is a zita west practitioner). He is also taking a vitamin c tablet but I think the zita west stuff covers the vit c requirement anyway.

All these changes are for about the last two months, so I'd hope that in another month it would have improved more as then all semen was produced since he made the changes.

notyetamumbuttrying · 03/12/2020 11:17

@Motherofkittens28 thanks. That's great in two months! Mines been doing his changes for three months now so very excited to see if he has improved results! Still waiting on a date to come through for this month 🤞🏾

Hey everyone-thought I'd drop in as again been MIA. I'm an essential worker so on shifts most of the time so it takes ages to catch up on posts.
Had my private consultation today. Was quite good. It's going to cost me about £1300 for a full MOT. I've agreed to it as just want everything progressing. The consultant I saw actually heads our NHS practice here. They advised they could put me in their nhs clinic, but it'll take 6 months minimum to get referred. Rather pay for the private! I'm getting bloods done again, then hopefully will have dates for my scans and something to do with checking my tubes?! No idea what I'm getting really hit they're checking everything.

SS123456 · 03/12/2020 21:16

@Theawkwardblonde I am starting something similar on the 22nd December. It is costing me £700 privately and it includes a SA for OH too. I'm feeling a bit nervous about it all even though I want to have it done

Theawkwardblonde · 03/12/2020 21:20

@SS123456 yeah I know what you mean. I'm just sick of waiting so thinking best to get it done. Even if there is no issue, it'll at least put our minds to ease.

SS123456 · 03/12/2020 21:34

@Theawkwardblonde same here! We are on month 15 now and feeling quite demoralised with it all. I fell in Oct but mc'd at 5 weeks which was gutting as we thought it was finally our time after trying for so long 😔. It will be good to hopefully get some answers 🤞🏻

Motherofkittens28 · 04/12/2020 09:30

So I've had a tiny bit of spotting this morning, very unusual for me as this is day 5 post ovulation. Seems a bit early to hope for implantation but its a bit odd. I hate my body sometimes for being so confusing!

notyetamumbuttrying · 04/12/2020 09:54

@Motherofkittens28 argh that is annoying, feel for you! Try not to read into it in case it really is just one of those random things.

Hi ladies!

I am on antibiotics atm which are making me nauseous but ofcourse my crazy ttc brain is like "probs a pregnancy symptom" ....
At 5dpo I dont think so 🤣🤣🤣🤣

@notyetamumbuttrying is it still fertile week?

@Motherofkittens28 how strange! I have to say that I felt implantation cramps at 5dpo in my last pregnancy.....so its not unheard of

notyetamumbuttrying · 04/12/2020 13:23

@Annny27 aww hope you're ok?!
Yep, got peak today so will ov tomorrow. Dtd this morning 👍🏾feeling all hopeful and optimistic as I always do at this time even though are chances are prob like 10% or whatever. It's been nearly 3 months of him on the lifestyle changes now so I'm quietly hoping that they've done something!

Just got appt through for fertility clinic 5th Jan face to face with both of us, which is great but they want some bloods atstart of cycle and thats gonna either be Xmas week or week of appt. 🤦‍♀️ glad things are moving though and hubby second SA was much better but still only 13 million/ml. Were on month 16 now, cycle 13 so finally feel a bit more hopeful we can find what's going on and how to deal with it

notyetamumbuttrying · 05/12/2020 14:45

@kerrym87 that's so good! Willing my appointment date to come through now! He'll also get a repeat SA whilst there and I'll get my amh tested. Good his counts improved! I really hope my Dh's has too.

RobinRose · 05/12/2020 17:30

@kerrym87 can I ask how long it took from being referred to getting an appointment with the fertility clinic? Good news your dps results have improved!

kerrym87 · 05/12/2020 21:47

Erm.....got referred a week last Thursday!😯 and the appt at hospital is 5th Jan
.....can't believe how quick it's been but they won't start ivf before 2 years of ttc if under 40 but by time investigations and options explored it'll probably be at that point. Just feeling totally overwhelmed easily at moment, works been hard, had a flare up of ME and my dearest friend has been so sensitive and was worried to tell me but fell pregnant unintentionally...with baby number 4! She is great though as had miscarriages so is quite sympathetic and supportive but it's still hard. Fed up of covid

  • i 'm a nurse so adhere to everything and know why but it's just such a bummer! Xmas seems hard this year too, struggling to find the joy in much at moment. I think I'll be due on either Xmas week or week of appt depending when I eventually ovulate so no booze either potentially just in case.......
RobinRose · 05/12/2020 22:33

@kerrym87 wow that was quick! Our referral went this week so hoping to hear something before Christmas. I am a little nervous about it all to be honest! Oh bless you, sounds like your having a tough time of things at the moment. I'm not feeling overly festive this year either, managed to book a meal at our favourite restaurant Xmas eve so that is something nice to look forward to, and a bit of normality! I'm due on over Christmas aswell 😑
