@Yutes ah that's not nice of your friend at all. They should be understanding. I'm always in two minds about telling ppl things as on one hand it stops the questions, but then on the other, they know your business Confused tough balance sometimes. I hope you're feeling better today. Oh and thanks for clarifying the letrozole thing, I was hoping it was some wonder drug for sperm for a minute Wink so am I correct to assume you've gone through breast cancer or is it used for other things as well?
Where I am, they use letrozole before clomid.
You’re right in saying they use letrozole to treat some breast cancers, because it’s a hormonal drug.

notyetamumbuttrying · 19/11/2020 21:20

@Yutes oh I didn't know that. Makes sense! Sorry, I just jumped straight to breast cancer. My friend is going through chemo and she mentioned this drug so it was in my head.

Thanks everyone for your messages. I've had time to process it and have been doing lots of research. We have decided to get Christmas and this year out the way and then start the process in the new year.

@Narwhal88 I'm in Kent too small world!

Annny27 · 22/11/2020 09:51

Morning :) cd10 no sign of ovulation yet

@Hayley19835 good for you - hopefully you can find somewhere that isn't ridiculously expensive. We have started putting some money aside incase we need any intervention too

How is everyone else?

notyetamumbuttrying · 22/11/2020 10:22

@Annny27 ok thanks. Periods due today so just waiting for that to come and explaining to Dh about LP's and how mine shortened due to the different pills I tried to delay ov lol!
@Hayley19835 similar to us, he's going to get his second SA early dec and then we can book in with a clinic in jan if the results are still poor.

Feeling a bit grumpy today, @annny27! We're in one of the Scottish areas that are in level4 so it's basically lockdown for us. Our friends and family don't live in our area, but are also experiencing level4 so locked down too. Think I need to get out the house and go for a walk and clear the grump away :)

Narwhal88 · 22/11/2020 16:07

@Hayley19835 yes it is a small world! Glad you seem to have a plan :)

I'm 1DPO most likely as got a strong peak OPK Friday evening. Not a lot going on at the moment with lockdown! Excited but anxious about our appointment on Tuesday. Just hope our results come back in time or it's more waiting.

Hayley19835 · 22/11/2020 16:58

@Narwhal88 it's a scary one but a plan nether the less and OH seems very keen to give all options a go so we'll see right now I'm just putting it to the back of my mind and going to try and enjoy whatever Xmas may bring us this year 🤷‍♀️
Where in Kent are you? I'm down in Folkestone xx

Motherofkittens28 · 23/11/2020 10:36

Morning @Annny27 today is the start of fertile week for me so we will do what we can before my OH's SA on Friday (my day 12). Fingers crossed for some of that post hycosy magic!

Annny27 · 23/11/2020 11:12

Morning 🥰

@Motherofkittens28 I am cd11 and had bit of ewcm so I think that start of fertile week for me too! Hopefully manage to get a few dtd in before Friday. Is it 2 days abstinence? Thats what my DH had to do

@notyetamumbuttrying ahh did AF arrive ? :/

@Tofu35 ahh! We are all locked down in England so not really seen anyone for ages haha so it does get a bit depressing

@Narwhal88 I hope the tww is quick for you!

notyetamumbuttrying · 23/11/2020 11:47

Morning @Annny27 no not yet. Think my LP is back to normal now so it'll be tomorrow or a miracle and it's pregnancy of course! Will know tomorrow I guess. How are you doing? X

Narwhal88 · 23/11/2020 12:29

@Hayley19835 I'm in Herne Bay. Yeah good idea to just enjoy Xmas first and have a little break. I will most likely be with care fertility in tunbridge wells, you never know we might end up at the same clinic at the same time!

@Annny27 thanks, I feel like it's more of a 1 week wait as I know I'm out once the spotting starts! Enjoy fertile week - I find it exhausting 🤣🤣

Motherofkittens28 · 23/11/2020 13:28

@Annny27, yes at least 48hrs abstinence, so we have until Wednesday morning to try, then again after he has done his sample. I'm due to ovulate on Saturday.

Theawkwardblonde · 24/11/2020 09:08

Very confused. Gp did follow up bloods checking other hormones (didn't say what) last week. Just rang gp and been told bloods are normal so aren't going to look into it further. So day 21 bloods showed no ovulation but my bloods a week later for hormones are normal. Wtf is going in? They wouldn't even let me book a phone appointment to discuss it further. Feeling so confused.

Narwhal88 · 24/11/2020 13:39

@Theawkwardblonde ask for a copy of all your test results- they have to give them to you. Hormone tests are usually FSH, LH, oestrogen and then progesterone which is the 'day 21' test. The day 21 test is a misleading name. It should only be on day 21 if you have a 28 day cycle. It needs to be 7 days before AF is due. Did you have a repeat progesterone test?

Narwhal88 · 24/11/2020 13:43

So had our appointment this morning. Husband's genetic testing was all fine - she confirmed he is definitely XY which means he is a man 🤣 so that's good! No genetic conditions and he isn't a CF carrier 😁
They found a varicocele though so it's likely that is causing the issues. I have looked this up and he could have surgery but there is only a 30-40% chance it would actually improve things. The NHS also don't do it so would have to pay.
Had my AMH tested again and it's 44 this time (37.5 before).
She is doing the referral to Care fertility for IVF today. She was meant to call us back though to go through everything once she filled in the paperwork but still waiting...

Fingers crossed we can start IVF soon!

notyetamumbuttrying · 24/11/2020 14:05

@Narwhal88 nice to know what's what now! Hope you're feeling ok?!
@Theawkwardblonde I wrote bk to you on the other thread. Hope you've gotten an appointment now?
I'm 14dpo today and due on but she's not shown yet 😬

OP posts:
Narwhal88 · 24/11/2020 19:28

@notyetamumbuttrying fingers crossed AF doesn't show at all!
Yes feeling relieved there is nothing else to contend with. The secretary said she was sending the referral today and we should hear from Care in the next few weeks.

Annny27 · 24/11/2020 19:47

Omg @notyetamumbuttrying fingers crossed!!!!!

@Narwhal88 how much would a private procedure for him be?

notyetamumbuttrying · 24/11/2020 20:10

@Narwhal88 wow that's pretty quick then!
@Annny27 sadly I'm not pregnant. Not on yet, but did a test after a 3 hour hold and you guessed it...bfn 🙃 well timed as Dh has his urologist appointment tomorrow afternoon and he said he'd book the second SA afterwards so hopefully he actually will! Need to get moving, my mental health is really getting a bashing with this shit now 😖

Hello! Hope you don’t mind if I join you? I’ve been following for a little while and thought it would be good to join in finally!
I’ve just turned 39, been ttc for around 2 years now. Started using opks this year, plus tracking bbt, taking vitamins, co-q10, Dha, eating all the pineapples etc, just trying everything I can really! I’ve had 21 day bloods which are all fine and now I’ve got the excruciatingly difficult task of getting DH to do SA before we can proceed any further!! 😩 He took 3 months just to register with same GP, so who knows how long getting SA will take!! Starting acupuncture tomorrow, which I’m excited about! Anyone else had it and had any success?
Currently 5dpo, but I usually spot from 8dpo so I usually know I’m out pretty early on in my cycle!

notyetamumbuttrying · 24/11/2020 21:17

@crazycatlady1981 welcome! Best of luck this cycle. How olds your Dh if you don't mind me asking? They're very frustrating when they take an age to do things. I'd suggest turning on the waterworks if he doesn't pull his finger out. ESP cos you can't progress until he does his part.

OP posts:
crazycatlady1981 · 24/11/2020 21:49

@notyetamumbuttrying 😂 yes turning on the waterworks usually does the trick! He’s 40 in January.

notyetamumbuttrying · 24/11/2020 21:54

@crazycatlady1981 sad but true right 😂 ah ok, so neither of you are mega old yet so hopefully all is good still! I hope he pulls his finger out soon so you know what's what! We're 15 months next week and I am beyond fed up even tho I know what our issue is.

OP posts:
notyetamumbuttrying · 24/11/2020 22:28

I'm on now btw. So that's cycle 18 now as my cycles are so bloody short! Never off this ttc rollercoaster 🎢 and it's not even a fun one 😂
