@Annny27 I don't blame you! I'm not waiting until next September to start, no way Jose 😂 although it would be August as we told a porkie pie and got seen at 11 months of trying.
Ah yes, the allusive second SA. I really can't see all 3 parameters improving to what they need to be, to be in the normal range, I could be totally wrong of course, but trying to be realistic too so that I'm not heartbroken by that too. It's the hardest thing to forget about it isn't it. We're constantly reminded by our own bodies giving off weird symptoms and everyone around else being pregnant or with babies 😫

@notyetamumbuttrying all good with me, I've got very slight cramping but nothing really. They gave me the results as they did it and said it was all fine, normal uterine cavity and two clear tubes, no blockages. They have to do it after you have stopped bleeding for 24hrs and in an ideal work before ovulation as there can't be any possibility of pregnancy. They couldn't do mine early enough in my cycle so I had it on day 19 and we had to abstain for this cycle. I've managed to sort a telephone appointment to discuss my hormone test results and next steps on Monday, so hopefully that will provide some answers.

notyetamumbuttrying · 10/11/2020 21:14

@Motherofkittens28 best of luck for Monday then! Glad everything was clear and looking good.
Dh had his testes scan and all ok so just some more waiting now. Need a callback to go through his bloods and scan and then next steps, no idea when he'll get called tho. I'm pushing him just to get this repeat SA as that will tell us what to do next!

@Motherofkittens28 sorry for delay in reply glad it all went ok! mine was all good we have male factor infertility but have no reason why as to yet so frustrating xx

Originalusername6432762 · 11/11/2020 08:12

@Tofu35
Thanks my area must be a bit slow then I guess!

notyetamumbuttrying · 11/11/2020 08:42

@Hayley19835 it's the worst isn't it! Did your Dh smoke and drink a lot? Mine smoked a bit so has stopped that. Would binge drink on a weekend so has stopped that too. He's also eating more oranges and taken up running although I've noticed he's not been in about three weeks!

Annny27 · 11/11/2020 10:42

@notyetamumbuttrying thats great that his scan was all good! Yep deffo get the repeat SA done!

@Motherofkittens28 thats great that the results were clear! And might be nice to have a month off from the symptom spotting

AF deffo on the way and had a good cry this morning!

Hayley19835 · 11/11/2020 12:56

@notyetamumbuttrying he did smoke but has stopped now and is currently taking Impryl at the advice of the clinic just waiting his follow up SA on the 17th to see if any improvement there and also waiting on Genetic blood results xx

Originalusername6432762 · 11/11/2020 18:20

Hey I'm quitting the forum for a bit as I've got a bit obsessed and I need to chill.
Hopefully will see lots of bfps when I get back, good luck! X

Annny27 · 11/11/2020 18:22

Wishing you the best @originalusername6432762 xx

Tofu35 · 12/11/2020 16:53

Totally understand @originalusername6432762.

Spoke to the fertility clinic today, it's a 3 month wait for the dye test. Husband is keen to go private and get it done next month, but we'll have to check finances (Christmas may be cancelled!).

Annny27 · 12/11/2020 17:02

@tofu35 if you go private, will the NHS acknowledge the results? Or will they make you have it done again for their records- as I will also have a wait for the next tests

Tofu35 · 12/11/2020 17:09

Hey @Annny27 they should acknowledge the results. After husband had a private semen analysis (after a failed NHS one), they took the results from the private one. Clinician said that if I chose to go private, I should let them know the results.

I think as long as you go to a reputable clinic, I don't see there being an issue. But as always, check with your doctor before doing anything :)

kerrym87 · 12/11/2020 19:56

My OH got a call from GP on Monday to say doctor would phone today, so he's been stewing waiting for result.....he rang at 5.40pm as surgery shuts 6pm, receptionist said he should get a call but she'd put a note on for the doctor. Guess what didn't happen.....😡 know they're busy but why say they'd call then not bother?

Tofu35 · 12/11/2020 20:02

Oh @kerrym87 that's frustrating! Let's hope the gp contacts him tomorrow :)

notyetamumbuttrying · 12/11/2020 20:24

@Annny27 thank you. He won't get the repeat SA until he's heard bk from the urologist 🙄 did AF come then?

@Hayley19835 I might swap Dh onto that. He's taking proxceed plus but when he told the urologist that she hadn't even heard of it 😳 so now wondering if I swapped him onto the wrong thing! It was recommended on one of these threads. Good luck with results! 🤞🏾

@kerrym87 very frustrating! They do make me mad 😡 feel for you!

Annny27 · 13/11/2020 05:09

@tofu35 perhaps I'll call the clinic first and ask if they would accept a private result :) thank you!

@notyetamumbuttrying yep AF arrived early this morning (hence why I am up at 5am with period cramps haha)

@kerrym87 I hate it when they don't ring when they say they will :(

notyetamumbuttrying · 13/11/2020 07:59

@Annny27 aww sorry hun, fucking sucks doesn't it! How about a few period memes to make you laugh!

so.... long post coming up so sorry but need a vent!
GP rang at 8.30pm (i love that GP he's great!) and the motility is 84%, morphology 6% but count only 1mil per ml! :( thing is they said wait 3-5 days and it was 48 hours cos i bloody ovulated in the 24 hours around when we took sample so were trying not to miss this cycle. it's getting repeated but we're getting referral to fertility anyway which I feel better about (I have issues with my cycles too).
OH now finally willing to start some supplements or something, reduce his alcohol further and consider cooling his beans a little (I was joking about this but we saw some cooling packs to go in undies!!). He did have a torsion as a child and a couple of cysts previously investigated by urology as non problematic so may need to double check its still ok.
He is defensive about his drinking and tells GP 'occasionally during the week' and gets annoyed at routine questions at asthma reviews etc when it's a little more than that.
Just had a hard time being pissed off about him not doing anything whereas I've done everything I can and it takes a bad test to make him do something and I've cut out alcohol (apart from when AF shows up!), don't eat stuff I shouldn't if pregnant, avoid brufen even though it's only thing that cuts through my headaches and take a horsepill of a combined multivitamin/folic acid etc, check temp daily, CM/cervix more than daily. You'd think 15 months into this it would have been sooner, but nervous about stressing him as had a bit of a breakdown in june, it's so hard! Bloody men! Have hinted at it along the way but he'll do things in his own time when he's got his head round it. Just as well I love him!Grin

kerrym87 · 13/11/2020 08:26

@Annny27 sorry to hear about AF, mine is due in a few days I think, temps started to slowly drop. @Tofu35 same problem here if wait is really long we don't have a huge amount saved up (it's for holidays and house repair etc) but I think a clinic near us does one round IVF for 3,300 or 3 for 6,600 but that's not including meds or investigations. not sure what it's like elsewhere?

Tofu35 · 13/11/2020 09:22

@kerrym87 unsure about ivf costs near me, but the dye test is £500. It needs done between day 3 and 10 so now I'm concerned if we book the private test and AF is late, then my appointment date won't capture that time period. Don't know if we'd still be on the hook for the charge?

Totally with you on the frustration point. Husband switched to baggy boxers and trying to cut down on booze, but will not make lifestyle changes like exercising regularly or eating healthy. I've been told I'm 'moaning' at him and should leave him alone. His morphology is at 2% and the doctor said he could easily improve it with lifestyle changes but he's "read some things" that say it doesn't matter. Ugh!

Motherofkittens28 · 13/11/2020 22:35

@Tofu35, not sure if it will be any help but if you don't mind an abstinence cycle they can do it between much lower range of dates. It sucks to feel like you are wasting a cycle but I had mine on day 19 and I'm just glad to have had it done and not be waiting another month for them to fit me in.

Also not sure if it will help anyone thinking of budgeting for ivf but I had my eggs frozen 3 years ago (essentially the first half of ivf) and the meds were another £1,000 + for my cycle.

Motherofkittens28 · 13/11/2020 22:35
  • longer range of dates
Tofu35 · 13/11/2020 23:12

Thanks @motherofkittens28, think we're going for the 'month off' option. I'm in two minds about whether I'll temp this month, or actually have a proper month away from TTC madness 😂

Although looking ahead, next month's FW includes Christmas day. Hohoho!

notyetamumbuttrying · 14/11/2020 11:51

@Tofu35 my FW includes Christmas Day too! We'd have September babies then, the thing that everyone wants because of the stats around children doing better who are born in the autumn! Although we need ivf and I doubt we'd be started by then. DH told me he'd been saving for it and will get his repeat SA ASAP so that we can bloody get going!!
