Hope everyone is ok, been trying to stay off here a bit while I await my period.

I need some advice please! So I have been referred to nhs infertility (no appt date, wait time 39 weeks which takes me to April) and a separate referral for a pelvic and transvaginal ultrasound (nhs appt in December).
The ultrasound is because of spotting between periods but it's likely that this is an after effect of depo injections.
Ive been looking into private - care fertility - would need a ultrasound before I can see specialist which I can book with them in December.
Also looked at Nuffield health but they haven't given me any idea of dates so far.
With coronavirus I'm half expecting my nhs scan to be delayed also.
I just don't know what to do! At the end of the day I'd be happy to just conceive naturally in the next few years but I feel like I need to get all the tests now so I'm eligible for treatment before it's too late in case there is a problem?
Hope some of that made sense... just don't know what's best to do.

Motherofkittens28 · 02/11/2020 11:52

@Originalusername6432762
I would say don't give up hope on the infertility appointment. I was told it could be 3 months and my appointment took place within 2 weeks of the referral so you never know.
How old are you if I can ask? Its worth checking the age cut off for IVF where you are just to keep yourself informed and so you don't get a surprise. Where I live its 35 but in the next county its 39 so it can really vary.
If you have the money to have the private tests done and it will give you the piece of mind then I say go for it, however, you might have to have them done again on the NHS anyway. At least if there is an issue you would know now and if not you can relax a bit and keep trying naturally for the time being.

Originalusername6432762 · 02/11/2020 12:19

@Motherofkittens28
Thanks for replying!
I'm 38 1/2. My GP said to try not to think about the IVF, as I might not even need it, but she did say that any private tests won't mess up my chances.
She recommended that I should speak to a consultant (on private) if I could afford it, but I'm all confused because of this other scan, and that the Care clinic need a scan done before you get to speak to a consultant.
And all the time I've got this little voice saying I could be pregnant already. I think I'm going crazy!
I suppose I could still go private in the future if things change but I'm really expecting that the lock down means things are going to take even longer.

Motherofkittens28 · 02/11/2020 12:44

@Originalusername6432762
Im hoping appointments won't be cancelled this time. I have a hycosy appointment next Monday that I really hope will go ahead

Originalusername6432762 · 02/11/2020 12:52

@Motherofkittens28
They did make it sound like they wanted everything to keep running unlike last time, so fingers crossed :)

Motherofkittens28 · 02/11/2020 13:06

@Originalusername6432762 its interesting your GP said that about ivf. Im a similar age, 39 in February and in assuming I will start private ivf in January but maybe I'm overreacting! Im just so scared about getting too old and my chances going down.

RobinRose · 02/11/2020 19:35

Evening ladies!

Bit of a rant/pitty post from me
Just found out a friend if mine is expecting her second child, her little one hasn't had their first birthday yet. She didn't even tell me, it was posted on Facebook so it has completely thrown me. And, af is on her way right now too. I feel so fed up and drained 😔

Tofu35 · 02/11/2020 21:58

Aww @robinrose that's rubbish, so sorry you had to find out like that! Be kind to yourself over the next few days, especially if AF is on her way xx

kerrym87 · 03/11/2020 14:18

So I'm on CD 30 now, had about 75%of last 2 week's with lots ewcm and other positive signs of impending ovulation but still no temp rise or anything else to confirm! So annoyed as oh going to send in his SA but the instructions says abstain 3 days so trying to fit it in best we can. Even if I ovulated today that's the longest cycle I've ever had since implant coming out 14 months ago. Maybe if he squeezes me hard enough an egg will pop out!😂 @Originalusername6432762 I was just wondering the same thing as you about getting some bits done private but I suppose I need to see what waiting is like on nhs once referrals been done . @RobinRose it's awful isn't it, lots of people I know seem to have fallen in last 6 months

RobinRose · 03/11/2020 14:39

@Tofu35 thank you, af arrived today! I have been surprisingly okay, going to have a nice hot bath tonight 🛁 !
@kerrym87 I just wasn't expecting to find out via facebook, I spoke to her the night before aswell. But yes, everyone else seems to be getting up the duff just fine! When my dp did his sample, is said to abstain for 48hours but must have had intersperse at least once in the 5 days prior to the 48hour abstinence? When does he hand it in?

kerrym87 · 03/11/2020 16:24

@RobinRose they didn't give a specific date just a list of the days/times the lab is open at hospital lab to drop off so I think we're just going to drop it in tomorrow

Originalusername6432762 · 03/11/2020 19:15

@kerrym87
It's a lot harder to decide when it's not free like the nhs!

Originalusername6432762 · 03/11/2020 19:22

Anyone testing in the next few days? Im waiting till Sunday as Ive decided I don't want to waste any more money on an early test!

SS123456 · 03/11/2020 19:48

I don't blame you @Originalusername6432762 , the tests cost a fortune don't they! I'm still waiting to ovulate post mc but hopefully it will happen in the next couple of days as I have started getting high opks now

Tofu35 · 03/11/2020 20:08

I'll be testing at the end of the week/weekend @Originalusername6432762. Trying not to test early, think I've only got one CB early detection and that is getting saved for a cycle I'm really optimistic 😂

Originalusername6432762 · 03/11/2020 20:54

@SS123456
Fingers crossed for you!

@Tofu35
I was so close to buying one earlier! I'm more than 50% convinced this month but then I was last month too 😂

My SIL did an early test the day before her period was due and got negative when she was pregnant, so you never know!

SS123456 · 04/11/2020 09:25

Thank you @Originalusername6432762 😊

Looks like I'm about to ovulate again post mc! 🤞🏻😁

Strangely though my bbt never dropped (I mc'd 19/10) and is still above last cycles cover line 🤔. Hopefully it won't affect my chances this month

I've found a great distraction from all the stress and waiting and disappointment... super mario! 😂

Annny27 · 04/11/2020 16:48

Hi ladies - been a bit quiet on here but I am 6dpo now so in the tww!

@originalusername6432762 sounds like fun!! My distraction is ordering everything and anything from amazon 🙈

@notyetamumbuttrying how are you lovely?

@narwhal88 are you in the tww too?

notyetamumbuttrying · 04/11/2020 16:55

@Annny27 hi lovely I'm ok thanks. You? Feel very despondent these days. Just don't feel like I've got a lot to say until we know what's what with DH. He's had a blood test now and gets a scan on his testes next week! Weird him doing all of this now but good in case he has something fundamental going on. I want him to have a second SA but he wants to wait until after the scan so it's just more waiting. Still no word on the fertility referral. I just wanna go private but Dh is set on waiting for the nhs...so I'm just in limbo and fed up! Hope you get good news next week! I'm cd6 so nothing to report on that front either. Sorry for the moan, I'll get over it soon I'm sure! X

Thought this would make you all laugh.

After paying privately for a SA test, husband heard he now has an NHS test too. So he asks if I can drive him to the hospital to drop the sample off (fine). So I get to wait in the car outside the house while he 'gets the sample' (think he didn't have a good experience last time- accessible toilet with blue lights in the hospital...quite the mood killer). At the hospital he parks on double yellows next to the ambulances and says "wait there, I don't want to pay for parking".

No way am I going to risk the wrath of the emergency services. So I drive around the hospital several times, waiting for him to call to say 'mission accomplished' and hope I can remember where I left him 😂

Originalusername6432762 · 04/11/2020 20:24

@Tofu35
That did make me smile :)

@Annny27
Got to try and keep the crazies away or I'll start working out how many hours until I can do my pregnancy test 😂

Annny27 · 05/11/2020 11:11

@Originalusername6432762 I used to be like that with tests. My first cycle i started testing at 7dpo....oh the naivety back then haha. But I wait untill period due date now

@notyetamumbuttrying what was his blood test for? The fertility nurse i saw last week wasn't concerned about my husbands test results even though he has slightly lower count and slightly low morphology, she just said don't have sex every day and instead have sdx every other day. Yeah it does feel like limbo for you :(

@tofu35 haha! An adventure 😂😂

notyetamumbuttrying · 05/11/2020 11:15

@Annny27 test his hormone levels. Don't know the results yet. Is his motility bad too? Mines is and yet no one seems too concerned, odd eh! I'm in FW as I ov early and I just can't be arsed this month, just feels so pointless! Hope you're getting on ok x

OP posts:
Annny27 · 05/11/2020 11:22

@notyetamumbuttrying yep I am very much the same in that I cba in fertile week haha

No his motility was fine, above average so no issues with that in this particular sample.

She did say that it really only takes 1 sperm so we still have a chance every month but just not as good a chance as people who don't have any subfertility issues
