Your next stage of IVF education is "what does one of your fertilised embryos look like if is travels from your tubes to your uterus to try & find a fluffy new home to burrow down into?" ....& now to obsess over the grading of an embryo & what difference that could make!

So yeah, here's my good luck charms I always have for IVF, the stork socks I bought me a set of yellow & my friend a set in pink for our surrogacy journey as going into the transfer room you can wear an NHS gown & socks so I've got my stork socks 🤞🏻, my sequin doc martens 🌈❤️, my implantation supplies (though not showing is my pomegranate juice) I'm throwing in the seeds for good measure cos I had some left over & why the f not eh!

Oh and meet my little embryo, that's what one of your guts fertilised egg looks like as it travels down your tube having met mr sperm that was waiting (maybe) for it & apparently it went into the freezer as a more poor quality embryo grade & this morning has been happily dividing away in its Petri dish so it's now graded higher. 🤷‍♀️🤔cue total mind fuck as often higher grades mean f all anyway, one grade is for the cells that relate to the quality of the "potential foetus" and the outside cells relate to the cells that make the "potential placenta". So it's all whether those cells continue & whatever blah blah honestly it's all a lottery really. Must stay away from google

Oh and that's £289 more drugs in that boots bag for TWW 😫🙄

Hi ladies, haven't been on for a while as my TTC journey is frustrating me so had nothing to say except a rant 😂
Missed a lot by the looks of it, @Minster2012 Wow good luck! Such an exciting and amazing thing you are doing.

@Minster2012 this all feels so monumental!!! You've been building up to this for months and us along for the ride with you 😁 great supplies! I've bought pineapple, pom juiceand Brazil nuts. Trying to throw a bit of extra influence at it as I think this is the first egg I've released since maybe May after which my cycles went bananas 😬

@Katao that's what I thought ahhh just go for it! Though the non alcohol cider is for the weekend when I know it pissed me off last time when DH was drinking 🙄and actually it's pretty nice I don't think that helps but it makes me feel less left out 😂

Is anyone else really fed up with all the faff every month with seed cycling, grapefruit juice, pomegranate juice, nuts etc? I feel like chucking them away as clearly it's not working for me or I'd have had a baby by now 😂 it's probably all a marketing ploy.

Around 7 weeks and wee heart beating away nicely. Only 1 baby 🤣🤣 (not googling about hidden twins 🤣🤣)

Aw congratulations @Catherinettc!
@2020mission I haven't really done any of that just the pomjuice on and off and pineapple a couple of months. If it's stressing you out maybe pull back from it, for a month at least. I think mostly we do these things to give ourselves a sense of control. Folic acid is the only essential, everything else is extra so don't stress yourself out over it 😃

@Catherinettc haha tbh it always scares me when people say they're expecting twins as it's so far off my radar I keep forgetting it's a possibility! Glad your scan went well, got all my fingers and toes crossed that the rest of your pregnancy remains uneventful.

@Minster2012 love the socks, bit weirded out by the sesame seeds!

@katao thank you sweetie! Luckily we're moving out today so I'm really busy and haven't had time to be sad. I can see myself crying come bedtime though. Haven't told OH either as I'm annoyed he never checks in with me on when AF is due/whether I'm testing. Maybe when I get a BFP I should hold off telling him to see how long it takes for him to catch on?!

@Juno231 😂 wouldn't it be funny to test that out. Although I had the opposite one month where OH kept asking if I was testing. It was a long cycle so had lots of bfns and no af. I eventually bit the head off him and said I'd tell him if there was something to tell! They can't win 🙈

Same @Juno231 I always test and my husband never asks when I'm testing/if I've tested. He just waits for me to tell him. The first month TTC we did the test together as it was exciting and it was my first time ever testing. That turned out to be BFP (but ended in a chemical). After the following month with a BFN I just started testing myself without him as it wasn't exciting anymore.

Actually with my most recent BFP when I had the second chemical in early August, I had opened the bathroom bin when I lifted it after testing as I was just expecting it would be another BFN to throw straight in - such routine now!

@Katao you're absolutely right it is just a control thing for me I think as I know deep down it isn't going to be the thing that makes it happen. You get so used to it that you start to feel guilty if you don't though 😆

@Catherinettc ❤️🥰❤️🎉🤗BRILLIANT!! That's so gorgeous to see!! No hidden twin it's all just your lovely fluffy womb lining clearly!! Yayyyy!!

@2020mission oh god yeah on the throwing everything away. As @Katao says you only need folic acid. For me I've had 2 rounds of IVF & both times been told my womb lining was thin & was advised by them it might be helpful to drink Pom juice and it's not detrimental (& it's very beneficial for other health things like my dad was advised to drink it after heart operation for instance) so I can only think it's gotta help blood flow, everything else is just meh why not it's just protein & stuff so yeah it's about feeling like I'm doing something positive 🤞🏻

@Juno231 my DH wouldn't have a clue when I was testing, even during the IVF if I didn't tell him, I might not tell him either if I can

@2020mission haha half the time I forget I've even tested nowadays and come back to it 15 min later to double check it's a BFN. It's definitely very routine now!

Sorry to hear about the recent BFNs, BFNs are crap to say the least!

My cycle has been all over the place but I am breastfeeding which explains it (I think). I had a mega long cycle and ovulated on cycle day 70 and then my body decided to start AF on 4DPO which was epic! Now I'm on cycle day 15 and not ovulated yet which was probably to be expected but I was optimistic (stupidly) that I might actually ovulate before cycle day 70 this time.

@2020mission I gave up on everything because it was such an effort to remember it all! I always forgot when to take what 😂 And then I got my BFP, so don't worry if you can't be bothered with it all 😂

@Ladybird345 day 70 and then AF at 4dpo? No wonder you need a rant! 😫Was it a heavy AF as well after that long? That's horrible for you. Very much hoping it's not that long this time 😬🤞🏻

I'm ok, laid down on my ass on the sofa now with the fire lit as it's bloody cold here, trying not to google things (failing) and for the embryo nerds amongst you ladies, I've realised that our last transfer (on left in pic, one on right today's) was an embryo graded 4cb day 5 blastocyst and today's was graded a 3ab day 5 blastocyst. Both were frozen graded the same but after thawing today's has divided better by the time they put it in (which what a fertilised egg is doing in your tubes) to implant it then becomes a "hatching blastocyst" & the hatching bit bursts into your lining & the cells burrow (effectively). You can clearly see more cells in it.🤷‍♀️

That one on the left last time became a BFP but then stopped growing so had a missed miscarriage. Fingers crossed this one seems a bit more tenacious

But it's interesting coz your egg needs to meet a sperm, then fertilise correctly & then split correctly & then by the time it makes it down your tube needs to be at the right "expanding stage", and your womb needs to be nice & fluffy, then it needs to hatch & implant & you need to have produced enough progesterone to sustain it long enough to register, etc etc etching sometimes embryos have faults which causes unexplained issues (hence why sometimes people do embryo testing if they've had multiple miscarriages)

You see why it's bloody hard?? 🤣😂😳

I mean, it doesn't make us feel better when ppl fall v easily @Missgoldilocks but again I think it's a bit of luck really, but it does explain why it's sooooo many factors that have to line up on what, one egg for a few days of each bloody month 🙄😳

Ps, do you not think it looks like they inserted a marble last time?? And just a sexier marble time time?! 😂
