TTC #1, cycle 13 and fed up! Whose with me?

Hello. So AF arrived yesterday which means I'm officially on cycle 13 of TTC. I'm a healthy 28 year old with husband whose 33. We've had 2 chemical pregnancies in the time we've been actively trying. We are just waiting on our dates for blood tests and SA for husband.

Needless to say I'm bloody fed up! Had 3 friends announce pregnancy news in the last week, and one friend is due in 4 weeks. TTC is definitely starting to take its toll on both of us and the realisation that something may be wrong is starting to sink in.
Who else is having similar? Please feel free to share/rant!

@CurbsideProphet we're a year now too. Thing is with me, I was so open with telling everyone we wanted to wait until the after wedding and now it's 14 months later and still no baby 😩 thank god I'm not seeing Dh's friends other halves. Some of mine already know and my family so at least I don't have to constantly keep up a pretence!

I'm so sorry if this triggers anyone, because I know how hard it is hearing that other people are pregnant, but my intention is to give hope.

Today I got my BFP. It's 2 years since our miscarriage and 13 months since we properly started trying again. This is the first month I've posted here and finally went for fertility testing. Didn't expect this to be the month. Hoping for a baby this time 🤞🤞🤞

Don't give up hope. There is no reason why it won't be you this month, or next month. Sending lots of love and good vibes xxxxx ♥️♥️♥️♥️

@Nellle Congratulations!!! Hopefully you've started a streak of BFPs for all of us 🎉 🥳 Grin

@notyetamumbuttrying When I told the GP my periods range from 25 to 28days she seemed to classify that as irregular . When i think of irregular periods I think of dates that are bizarre e.g a 30day cycle one month and a 45 day cycle the following month etc.
I have been browsing old threads in the infertility category and there seemed to be a few women prescribed clomid to induce super ovulation but where monitored with ultrasound to make sure they didn't have too many eggs released. I'm driving myself nuts with research 😅

@Nellle congratulations and fingers crossed for you.

I’ve had a bit of a crap week. My job means there are quite a few safety concerns around being pregnant meaning that a few if not all (depending on gossip) my colleagues are aware I’m TTC. I’m fairly sure one of my close work friends is pregnant and I’m already stressing about how to deal with the announcement which will be early for safety. Also I’ve found out in a really odd way and I feel like a creep but i honestly wasn’t snooping! We have shared computers at work and I went to log on to my email the other day and hers was still logged in and as I went to log her out I saw and email from Tommy’s pregnancy hub. This might be nothing but I’ve got myself so worked up about it.

This cycle has also probably been a bit of a dud in TTC hubby works away and pretty much away for my whole fertile week.

Anyone else feel they’re actually going insane from this whole process! Or is it just me?

Theawkwardblonde · 05/10/2020 15:10

@Rosie189 that sucks but you are not alone with the insane feelings. I've had a colleague announce pregnancy this week (which is now about 5 pregnancies announced to me in the last few weeks). I'm honestly feral and if I'm honest getting quite bitter with it all, which sounds awful to say 😞 I'm happy for them, but I'm now starting to be all "eurgh" anything I find or see anything related to pregnancy.

@nellle congratulations, you must be on cloud 9, enjoy your bfp!

@monday55 i told my GP that my cycles vary each month from anywhere between 26 and 30 days and she said that thats 'regular', just goes to show that depending on which GP you speak to they all have differing opinions.. a bit like different articles on Google!

@rosie189 sorry about finding out your work friend is pregnant. It's horrendous finding out news like this and I don't know about you but the last few months, I am just hyper aware of everyone and everything pregnant/baby related and feel so sad by the smallest thing.

I am due to get my 21 day bloods on Friday but my peak opk was day 16 so possibly ovulating today or even tomorrow, day 17/18. I have read that the day 21 bloods should be 7 days after ovulation but because I have ovulated a little later it means my bloods on Friday won't be 7 days days after. Is it super important that these bloods are done on the exact right day? Or as it's day 21 will it still be ok?

Report
CurbsideProphet · 05/10/2020 22:18

@dogmam I had some bloods done on day 21 recently. It's my understanding that these should be done 7 days before the next period.
My cycles are only 24 days now so I think next time they should be day 17 or so. I have a phone appointment with my GP next Monday about these bloods and to arrange more, so I'll be trying to politely point out which day they should be done.

Hi all, I’m late to the party, but can I join the thread? We’re on cycle 20ish of ttc Confused and finally got the ball rolling with the GP. I’m also having bloods done - seems like a lot of us at this stage, but they’ve not booked them for a specific day of my cycle which seems weird. I don’t want to be pushy and annoying, but I’m also not clear what they’ll be checking if it’s just on a random cycle day (booked for day 13). Very new to the “TTC” world and it’s a bit of a headfuck! Good luck everyone Smile

Theawkwardblonde · 06/10/2020 12:03

@BeachPeach hello and welcome! Headfuck is probs the best way to describe it 😂 I'm new to the TTC world despite trying for 13 cycles now. I was told my bloods need to be day 21 in my cycle. I believe it the bloods check if you ovulate so I imagine they have to cover a certain point in your cycle. Don't quote me on that mind!

notyetamumbuttrying · 06/10/2020 13:35

@BeachPeach day 21s need to be 7dpo or 7 days before your period is due if you haven't tracked ov. Day 3 bloods need to be day 2-5 of your cycle. You need to do it at specific days so that they test the right hormones. It's scary that your gp hasn't told you this! Call them and get the right day.

Is it OK if I jump on board?

We are on our 9th cycle of TTCing, feeling so fed up and frustrated today. AF is two days late but got BFN on a FRER this morning. Just want AF to hurry up now Sad

BeachPeach · 06/10/2020 14:28

@notyetamumbuttrying and @Theawkwardblonde thanks so much, that’s really helpful. I called this morning to check and they were all “umm, oh, I don’t know, hmm, we’ll check....” which fills me with confidence 😆

We’ve also booked OH in for a consultation as he had testicular cancer when he was younger so getting a semen analysis is a priority for us.

I’ve just not got much faith in our GP’s so hoping to get initial tests out the way so we can either get an all clear or get referred to specialists.

Great to have you guys to lean on and hear where you’ve got to in your “journeys” as we’ve not told anyone we’re TTC.

@BeachPeach I'm glad you're getting it sorted! I don't have faith in your gp either lol! The SA is so important if he's had that before, best of luck to you both!

@BernadetteThreep course you can! Argh that's just the worst! How very annoying. Hope she comes soon and onto cycle 10 😬

Report
dogmam · 08/10/2020 20:38

@beachpeach I am booked in for my 21 day bloods tomorrow (although i only ovulated on Monday so hope it's not too early) anyway, before I was offered this, I had standard blood tests looking at loads of things, as I had low b12, not on any particular day of my cycle, just to check on my general health to see if anything was outside the normal range, so maybe that's what you're getting done. Then once that's done, they will probably ask you to do a 21 day test. There's also a cycle day 3 blood test which is one of the early things they do so I am going to ask about that when I go tomorrow. Don't worry though, it's good to get your general bloods done just to check you don't have anything else going on, then after you can chase up for the more specific ones.

My other half is getting his SA on the 28th of this month too.

How is everyone feeling? I am 3dpo today so it's the dreaded wait for hopefully no AF! I do worry each month that we haven't dtd enough especially when you read people who do it every day the entire cycle!

CurbsideProphet · 08/10/2020 21:52

Hi everyone, too late to join?

I'm CD 24 of a 28 day cycle

Been off the pill years sadly but actively trying and tracking using opks for 3 Cycles

Took cycle 18 to fall with my 1st so back here again ttc 2

Nice to hear stories of people TTC in similar position - support each other through this lonely and sad frustrating at times journey

I'm been off the pill for years so just think it hasn't happened so can't help but think somethings wrong

Had cd3 and CD21 sa and hycosy
Just waiting on last test which is a pelvic scan then that's it, won't qualify for ivf as Ive a daughter from previous relationship so not sure if there's any meds or what

Wishing everyone lots of luck for this month xx

Welcome @strawberrysummer19 🤞 for you.

@Theawkwardblonde I’m 11dpo. Despite almost no chance that I’ll be pregnant this cycle as hubby was mainly away I’m spotting today and my brains in overdrive 😫

Thanks@Theawkwardblonde and @Rosie189

I too said I will be more relaxed this cycle but where im due on this week - anytime between tues-Thursday for me I'm symptom checking!

I have sore boobs but this is normal for me and I feel so tired - again normal for me

I went to bed at 7:30 last night as I felt so tired but I'm also aching. I have bad back ache which is radiating into my legs it's very uncomfortable- not sure what that could be. I normally get that when I'm actually on my period. Bad aches but it came on last week and have it now still

UPDATE: Finally got my Peak ovulation today, so it should happen in the next 24hrs and then I'll be on the TWW. I gave myself a scare as I added a new supplement to my regimen which I realised could've altered my ovulation day. I Wouldn't have minded if this had happened any other month but I have my bloods next Monday, which I wouldn't want to mess up.

@dogmam How did the bloods go? My bloods are next Monday 19th Oct.

@strawberrysummer19 welcome to the thread! I hope you get good results with your tests. It's not easy to be relaxed TTC is on my mind everyday now. Are you taking any supplements? Have a read about Coq10/ubiquinol supplement? It improves egg quality and as you know the older we get the worse our egg quality becomes. You can find good amount of coq10 in expensive fertility supplements such as ' conceive plus or proceive' or you can buy it on it's own on amazon etc.
