Come one, come all ! A thread for those TTC after coming off hormonal contraceptive pills.

Discussions typically include:

• Baffling temp charts
• Absent or oddly timed EWCM
• Whacky cycle lengths
• AF gone AWOL (current high score is 141 days post pill)

Totally agree with you guys @MintGreenLife @Flowerkm @MrsBtobe2020 @Trying4one @Sarahp2308. Wouldn't go back on the pill between babies now. Even afterwards, my DH has mentioned he'd be happy to have a vasectomy.

Also, whilst the pill didnt kill my sex drive completely it definitely lessened it! DH laughs at my obvious interest now!

I agree I won't ever go back on the pill! Although I don't think it's ever had much of an impact on my sex drive 🤷‍♀️.

CD14 and my temps are still trolling me so I'm still not convinced I did ovulate on Sun. Did an OPK earlier and it came up at 21% which is normally a reading I'd get a couple of days before OD - and I've had a fair amount of CD16 ODs this year so I'm still hopeful.

Hi @Juno231, Hmmm... interesting. Hopefully you haven't ovulated yet then. Did you get any other symptoms before you tempt rise on CD10 (EWCM, High soft cervix?) if not then hopefully you'll start seeing those in the next few days and you'll ovulate at a slightly more appropriate 16-18CD

Ref the whole sex drive thing, yeah, mine was absolutely suppressed by being on the pill. And I can't believe how cyclical woman's lives are meant to be! Coming off the pill has been a real eye opener and i'm definitely not going back on.

@kay00 right? So ambiguous. I was bone dry but didnt check my cervix position before CD10. It's high today (too high to check if soft) and I swear I've had a tiny bit of EWCM today and 2 days ago. Problem is this is the first cycle since March where I'm not taking evening primrose oil so I'm not sure whether to expect any ewcm.

ladies, I have a question.

I'm 10DPO and no sign of AF - woop! i'm hoping to make it through tomorrow without her showing up as that would put my LP as 11 days which will be my new record

But i'm going camping tomorrow afternoon and back on Sunday. Obviously if AF hasn't arrived by Sunday night then I will test Monday morning (as that will be 14DPO). But this camping trip is to visit a brother in law and no doubt alcohol will feature... shall I go, and enjoy myself, have a few drinks and forget about it (I won't get drunk). Or test tomorrow (11 DPO) with a frer to rules things in/out first? Or is 11DPO just too early to see anything anyway?

@Kay00 Ooh fingers crossed you get your LP record or even better a BFP!

Maybe do a test to see? It might come back negative as just might be to early to test so wouldn't be out until AF arrives. Its a tricky one, a lot of people say drink until its pink so definitely not in the wrong if you wanted to drink. If you didn't drink would they question at all?

@Flowerkm thank you. Im not sure I care if they notice me drinking or not. I used to drink loads (in my early 20s) and have quite severely curbed that in more recent years so its not unusual for me to stay sober on a night out. But i think I might not enjoy a cheeky cider if I thought I might be pregnant... but i might test anyway the urge is there! Ill keep you posted x

@kay00 I'd take a test just to put my mind a bit more at ease (I think over 70% of bfps are visible at that point) and then take the attitude of drink till it's pink :)

BTW I just had a big glob of EWCM so I think I'm still in the game!

@Kay00 Thats fair enough, luckily as well Im not a massive drinker so if I missed on a drink people wouldn't question it which is good :)

As expected my test was completely stark white , at least that means I can enjoy a drink tonight and tomorrow night.

On the plus side i'm 11DPO and no sign of AF yet (new record and within normal LP range now - woop!), on the downside this probably means my period will arrive whilst i'm camping... less than ideal!! Haha!

@Kay00 at least you can enjoy a drink now though your period arriving whilst camping isn't ideal 🤦🤣

Woop just had my peak OPK - I just KNEW the CD10 ovulation wasn't right. I'm much better prepared this way - DTD last night after that EWCM discovery and now got today/tomorrow to secure my chances as well.

@Kay00 sorry about the BFN but yay to decent length LP!

I am hoping for some help from you lovely ladies. I have started testing my ovulation this month. I am only on cd6 but wondering if these levels look really low? I do drink a lot of water every day so don't know if that is watering the results down?

@Juno231 we'll be camping in Cornwall, so the weather stay good

@Trying4one I would say those levels are very normal for CD6. You will hopefully start to see them rise closer to CD14 +/1 a few (unless you get really long/short cycles), so keep temping.

When you start to see them get darker then start POAS several times a day (Midday, 4pm, 8pm for example) to try and catch you peak. All the while baby dancing every other day. You should ovulate 12-48 hours after your peak. Good luck!

@Flowerkm @Kay00 thank you. That has calmed me down. I wasn't expecting high numbers yet but kept comparing myself to other people's numbers and started to have a mini freak out 🤣

@Trying4one mine are basically blank until fertile week! Got my peak today but only had a faint 21% yesterday. Perfectly normal :)

@Trying4one mine look exactly the same and I’m on CD11, that reminds me I need to to POAS 😂

Hey @Trying4one, I am the same as @Juno231 - most of mine are completely blank for. Over ovulation (which I've only pinpointed once) I got one that you can just see two lines, one positive, one nearly positive, then two more with two lines but weaker, then back to blank.
