@CAG14 I totally get and I feel for you!
We are on cycle 22 now. Chemical last month. Over 2 years of TTC

My BMI is too low all my life and I can't just put on weight, stupid genes. So either will happen naturally or no help for us either;(

Stabal · 26/10/2020 16:41

@Originalusername6432762 it depends on your age. Over 30 and you have to have been trying a year, over 35 and it's 6 months. The wait time for starting testing just depends on your district.

@Crayon7 they will test you if you're underweight, it's just overweight they won't help with.

Crayon7 · 26/10/2020 17:59

So far my GP seem to flag it as potential issue for specialists but I will see when the time comes.

Still can't get my prolactin repeated getting cancelled like third time now. Since august I am trying to do this come on 😡

Mia1985x · 26/10/2020 20:55

@Originalusername6432762 the 2 year thing is that you need to be TTC for 2 years (regardless of age) until they will put you on the waiting list for ivf. As @Stabal said though 6 months for over 35 and a year for under until they recommend you contact your gp and get ball rolling. They will do other checks first and if you get diagnosed with unexplained infertility then when you reach the 2 year mark they will refer you for ivf. If something shows up that explains a reason for fertility issues then you can be referred before the 2 years if whatever the issue is would likely be solved with ivf.

@stabal so nice to see you back on even though it is because your cycle was confusing. Hope you are feeling a bit better for taking a bit of a break.

@LT103 did you get your peak opk? I did have a giggle at your typo but was thinking good for you when I read at first. I'm 36 so would also be considered older.

@butterfly5291 have you started your opks yet, how are you getting on with them.

CD5 for me today and was just getting ready to gear up for cycle 26 but turns out I will be having a month off this month as just got my appointment through for hycosy in a couple of weeks. Am I weird to be excited for it??

butterfly5291 · 26/10/2020 21:30

@Mia1985x just started them today, not even the faintest line but only CD13 so still be a good few days I think.
Can't stop laughing at something that's just happened so will share with you guys.
We have a WhatsApp group with people from the wedding to share photos etc. DH mate has just shared a video saying his phone made a video of his best"portrait" photos from 2020 and it's literally just a video of me. I said to DH that's like in Love Actually when Kiera Knightleys husband's best mate is actually in love with her and just has her face on the wedding video! Cue lots of love actually GIFs...and he said he wasn't actually going to share it in case he got pegged as that creepy guy! Maybe this isn't funny to anyone else but it's really cheered me up tonight 🤣

@Mia1985x also no I don't think you're weird to be feeling excited about it. Hopefully it's a big step forward for you.

@butterfly5291 hahaha I know exactly who you mean in love actually. I love that film. Its Andrew Lincolns character and then he turns up at the door with the signs pretending to be a carol singer. Everyone gushes over that scene and thinks its so romantic but if you think about it, it is completely creepy and he is a total arse for doing that to his mate! Good on your DHs mate for seeing the funny side and sharing it haha. Thats my kind of humour Grin

Stabal · 26/10/2020 21:46

@Mia1985x ohh I'm so glad you've got an appointment! 🤞

No spotting for me today 🤷🏻‍♀️

Mia1985x · 26/10/2020 21:52

Thanks @Stabal and thats good about the no spotting. Hopefully continues.

I am so glad they managed to fit me in. Would rather just get it done than wait until its the right time in my cycle espec when I think they have done me a favour to squeeze me in. And whats 1 month of not being able to BD when the 25 before haven't worked 🙈🙈

Originalusername6432762 · 26/10/2020 21:55

Thanks @Mia1985x

Good luck for your scan, can I ask how long you’ve been waiting before that?

Originalusername6432762 · 26/10/2020 21:56

@Stabal thanks :)

Mia1985x · 26/10/2020 22:13

@Originalusername6432762 thanks! So I was only referred for the hycosy at the start of September. I asked about going private as they said there was a long waiting list just now and they said they would check for me. Then I got a call back saying they could fit me in if I was willing to go at any point (they usually try get you in between AF finishing and before ovulation as there must be zero chance your pregnant). I also think the fact we are only a few months away from ivf referral at 2 year point possibly helped. Just shows it does no harm to ask and follow up with these things.

I previously had other checks done and bloods taken to confirm ovulation. Husband also had a couple of semen analysis done. All of these checks were pretty quick and the scan is just last thing go get ticked off.

I don't want to send myself crazy and get too optimistic but can't stop googling, so many success stories of pregnancy after the scan for people who had previously been trying for ages.

Are you thinking of contacting your GP? My advice would be its worth getting the ball rolling early with these things. I wish I hadn't wait so long (contacted my GP after 18 months of TTC and over age 35)

Originalusername6432762 · 26/10/2020 22:35

@Mia1985x
I’ve been referred already but nothing is really happening!

LT103 · 26/10/2020 22:49

@Mia1985x nope still waiting 🤦🏻‍♀️ Bleeding stopped but still no peak. Temp up a bit today but not lots. I feel like I’m going to get af so wondering if this is an odd cycle where I don’t ovulate??? Or just going to be late. Now googling reasons for not ovulating just to stress myself out more!!!
Tbh I’m getting to stage I should be contacting doctor. Been ttc almost 6 months tho at least one of those months we missed. I was thinking of giving it til xmas but I might give it one more cycle then call given what you guys are saying about how long things take. Does anyone know the cost of going private for the tests? Or Would that affect your ability to be referred through nhs? I just imagine just now the wait times would be longer than usual.
@butterfly5291 that story made me laugh haha

Mia1985x · 26/10/2020 23:03

@Originalusername6432762 ah sorry I didn't realise you had already been referred. Is this for a scan or for initial checks through gp?

@LT103 yeah it could just be one of those strange cycles for you. I would say try not to drive yourself crazy with Google but I am so so guilty of that haha. In terms of going private, if it was just for a hycosy or hsg scan then I had found 2 places I was looking into and both were about £500. My consultant had checked this for me and said they would accept results of any private scan and it wouldn't effect any future nhs treatment. You can get a consultation package that included blood check and semen analysis for about £500-£600 at the places I checked. Obviously every area might be different but even with covid my GP was pretty quick at all this stuff and we had 2 lots of bloods and 2 semen analysis all done within the space of a few months. I would say contact your GP now and see what they say. Alot of my appointments were over the phone consultations which was good. Its once you start looking at the cost of ivf privately that the prices really start to go up very quickly!

LT103 · 26/10/2020 23:21

@Mia1985x thanks for all the info!!! If this turns into an Anovulatory cycle, I’ll maybe just give the doctor a call and see what they say. I’ve had 21 day bloods done a couple of months ago so I know that was fine.

Originalusername6432762 · 27/10/2020 07:43

@LT103
Are you having 14 day cycles? I had a few earlier this year which doctor said was probably recovering from stopping contraception (last injection feb 19). Just thought I’d mention it in case that sounds like it might be the case for you. I would recommend going to the doctor as soon as possible, even if they say to wait they will at least have a note on their records.

@Mia1985x
I’ve had a cervical exam and a blood test at the doctor to rule out some things but waiting to get appointment with the clinic. To be honest I presume I’ll wait for ages, get to talk to someone and then have to wait for ages more!

My oh has had sa already.

I’m also looking into if I can get referred to private for diagnostics without spoiling my chances for future treatment on nhs. Have read a bit about amh test and hycosy.

Originalusername6432762 · 27/10/2020 08:03

@Mia1985x
Sorry me again 🤪
When does the two years start? Is that from when you started ttc or when you contact your gp about it?

Mia1985x · 27/10/2020 08:06

@LT103 no worries at all. And yeah i would call and see what they say as does no harm. That's good your bloods were ok.

@Originalusername6432762 that's good your oh has had SA already. I take it everything has come back ok so far? When the GP referred me to fertility clinic that part was very quick and I had consultation through within a few weeks. It was also the fertility clinic my oh had to go to for SA as our GP doesn't have the facilities to carry out in the practice. This could be completely different from area to area though. Hopefully you don't have too much longer to wait, could you call them and just enquire where you are on waiting list. If you just say it would be good to have an idea so you can decide if you want to get some checks done privately to speed things up.

Mia1985x · 27/10/2020 08:16

@Originalusername6432762 sorry our messages must have crossed. The 2 years is just since you started TTC 👍🏻

ame88 · 27/10/2020 08:25

Morning everyone!!
First time posting on here (long time watcher 😂) currently 12DPO and driving myself mad! Did a test yesterday with a BFN but AF not due till Friday. Now to keep myself busy until then!! I have a really positive mindset this month...fingers crossed my body plays ball!

ReiRiko · 27/10/2020 08:33

13 dpo from the predicted ovulation date on my app... didn't bother testing this month. Now my nips are sore and I don't usually get sore nips, but rather sore breasts as a whole before AF. So this is new to me. AF is late and should have arrived yesterday. I want to test with First Response but it will have to be late morning urine and I'm afraid that it's not good enough and the test will be wasted :/

Originalusername6432762 · 27/10/2020 09:11

@Mia1985x
Ooh that's good, we've been trying basically since May 19 (just dtd lots as my cycle was irregular)
If I have to wait until the gp has said (39 weeks for referral appointments!) I'll be at nearly two years before I even get to speak to anyone!

Good luck to anyone testing!! :)

LT103 · 27/10/2020 10:24

@Originalusername6432762 no my cycles after coming off the pill we’re around 27 days with ovulation day 14. Last 3 cycles have been ovulating day 18-22 and ending about 12 days after that. Currently cd23 this time round with no ovulation yet. Another high opk this morning but no peak. Ewcm away and feels like af coming. I have no idea what’s happening.

Think I’ll let this cycle end then give doctors a call and see what they suggest as that will be 6 months.

Originalusername6432762 · 27/10/2020 10:40

@LT103
Ah ok, I don’t know then! I tried opks but I never got a positive so doctor told me not to worry and just keep trying!

I’m probably being totally stupid here, but my digestion has been totally off for 3 or 4 days now - I’m guessing I’m 2/3dpo - any thoughts??
