Tracking your cycle and possible BFP using RHR - part 3

Hi ladies,

This is for all of us with heart rate monitors who wish to help each other analyse the RHR patterns throughout our cycles.

Early research shows there's a correlation with increasing RHR and BFPs - so let's try and spot some together!

Morning everyone, so I’m super confused and frustrated. Cd13 today for me and nothing on an opk yet.

Marked on my graph is my cd1 and as you can see it’s just gone down and down since. I don’t get it. I honestly have no idea when to expect ovulation now. We’re dtd lots anyway and I’ll keep testing but omg I just hate this not knowing.
Seriously considering splashing the cash on an abs bracelet to try and take the guesswork out. Has anyone here got one?

@mumof23188 how are you doing today? Your daily positive opk’s are strange too, like I’ve heard of women getting a quick one day surge again just before af starts, but the only time I’ve read about them being continually positive is when they’ve turned out to be pregnant?!
I have 3 children already, eldest 10, youngest 5(nearly 6).
I don’t follow a diet as such as I found if I try to cut things out I just want it more 😂 so I just eat in moderation. I may do the 5:2 diet once I’m back at work as I used to do that and could easily limit my calorie intake while at work and I lost a lot of weight on that years ago. I guess I’m just trying to eat healthy and stay active while trying not to let it consume everything!

Let us know how you’re getting on! X

Hey ladies, looking for some BBT advice as not quite ready to watch RHR yet as not ovulated yet.. predicted day of ovulation on both apps I use was today.. I’ve been testing twice a day since CD9 and today is CD17 and all I have had is a constant faint second line so it’s still negative.. looking at my temps should I be worried, or do you think I’m just going to ovulate slightly later? I’ve always ovulated on CD14-16 and had 28-30 day cycles and had a big dip on ovulation day however in June I had a chemical pregnancy and my cycle after that there was no big drop on ovulation day and I also didn’t get a peak until CD25 and the cycle was 39 days. It’s really making me worried that something is wrong since I had the chemical pregnancy. Any advice welcome ❤️

@mumof23188 Very strange! It's so on and off! At the moment it's off! 🤷🏻‍♀️I don't think they will tell me anything during the scan unfortunately, but I guess we will see. Thank you!! 😊 It's so harsh! That definitely sounds very confusing.

@Juno231 did you manage to get some BD in last night?

@LS2020 Very strange! The same really- on and off! I really hope I get the reassurance. How are you?

Juno231 · 23/08/2020 15:02

@Littlebee1990 that chart just looks like it might take you a while longer to ovulate - not uncommon for a bit after a CP i don't think, but definitely annoying for you!

@Fran2020 I'm afraid not! OH was not persuaded to yesterday nor this morning! Cycle 9 it is then lol 😅

Littlebee1990 · 23/08/2020 18:03

Too the rescue as always @Juno231 more DTD for us then! So glad I continued to temp as if just used the app we would’ve stopped and missed the window!

SarahTTC2020 · 23/08/2020 20:42

@LS2020 just OPKs...
This is my longest ever cycle now which is frustrating, every morning I rush to the loo hoping to see AF 🤦🏼‍♀️ have some IC pg tests coming Tuesday so will just test then if no AF and test once every few days until it comes 🤔

LS2020 · 24/08/2020 08:38

@Stealthynamechange when are you due AF? This looks like a flatter version of my graphs pre a couple of months ago where it would continue to rise but then day before AF would drop off a cliff so always found it difficult to know if a rise was a good thing!

@Moominmiss was your RHR particularly high last month? Sometimes I can get where my average RHR across the month increases for a few months and then it’ll basically ‘reset’ and that AF I get a huge drop like that. I want an Ava bracelet but for me it’s the money on essentially things I have now :/

@Littlebee1990 I would echo @Juno231 comment and think it’ll just be your body finding it’s rhythm. Sorry it’s so frustrating atm for you though!

@Fran2020 I’m good thanks, CD7 so looking forward to starting my ov sticks again and going for cycle 14/15, can never remember where I am 😂

@SarahTTC2020 that is so frustrating for you! I hope it comes soon for you so you can move on to next cycle

mumof23188 · 24/08/2020 09:50

@Moominmiss hi, how frustrating for you! What CD do you usually ovulate on? I do hope you get your peak soon! I do think that’s the best way, everything in moderation. It’s been harder at home with lockdown and not over eating. Ah how lovely, do your children know that you would like another?

@LS2020 yes fingers crossed for May babies 😍. Hope you are doing ok?

@Fran2020 how are you today? Has AF sorted itself out yet?

@Juno231 ahh no, boo to no DTD 😩 did you manage to get any in before OV?

@SarahTTC2020 any luck today?

So CD5 for me and AF stopped yesterday but has started again today! Think it was definitely a chemical pregnancy 😭. RHR has had the biggest drop ever. Just hoping this cycle isn’t messed up.

Juno231 · 24/08/2020 11:09

@mumof23188 I do hope this cycle won't be affected by your CP! We managed to DTD at O-2 and O-4 so hopefully I'm still in with a chance.

1DPO now but looking at my RHR purely you'd never know what was going on! Marked OD on the chart.

SarahTTC2020 · 24/08/2020 13:52

@mumof23188 nope, cd45 no sign of AF 😔

You can be extra fertile after a cp so hopefully it's that and not a weird cycle for you xx

Moominmiss · 24/08/2020 14:29

@LS2020 no my rhr wasn’t overly high last month. My head generally just seems to be getting lower.

I used to sit around 68 but now it seems like it’s settled much lower.

I don’t know what that means. Today it’s gone up to 65 from 63. Still no lines whatsoever on an opk though. Hoping the slight rise today will mean I’m gearing up to ovulate in the next few days.

@mumof23188 I’ve no idea when I usually ovulate, it can vary, but whenever Ive taken soy I’ve ovulated no later than cd16. And given that I’m already on cd15 with no lines on an opk god knows what’s going on!

No I’ve not told my other children that we’re trying or want a baby. They’d be over the moon abs so excited but I don’t want to disappoint them by telling them and then it potentially not happening.

I really hope your cycle doesn’t get messed up by your chemical. I never noticed any real change in my cycles when I had my chemicals, so fingers crossed you won’t either!

mumof23188 · 24/08/2020 20:52

@Juno231 thank you! I do hope not! Ahh glad you managed to do it before. Fingers crossed for you! Atleast you will have some there waiting.

@SarahTTC2020 ah god 😩 I’m sorry it’s taking forever. Have you tested again? Thank you 😊

@Moominmiss any luck yet with the OPK’s? Do you just have the one line atm or is the other showing faintly? Hope it comes soon!! Ah yes I totally understand, I didn’t tell my DD until I knew all was well at the 12 week scan. It’s lovely that you know they would be so excited ☺️. Thank you, I’m really hoping not. Hope it’s just like normal. Had another look at my tests today before chucking them in the bin and it made me feel so sad seeing my pink line 😩. Never had a CP that I know of before. It’s a very strange feeling.

Fran2020 · 25/08/2020 00:05

Hey everyone, how are you all doing? I'm CD5 today and will start using the OPKs tomorrow. My RHR is doing exactly what it's supposed to do at this time of the month haha! I also have my ultrasound tomorrow at 5pm so I'm looking forward to that! 😊 I really can't believe this is now cycle 15!

@Juno231 Thats a shame! But you still DTD a couple of times so you're still in with a chance!

@LS2020 that's good, when will you start with your sticks?!

@mumof23188 I'm ok thank you! It was still stop/ start but seems to be pretty much finished today. How are you?

LS2020 · 25/08/2020 07:16

@mumof23188 sorry to hear you think you might have had a CP and AF has been a bit strange - fx for this cycle for you. I’m doing ok thanks, just plodding a long waiting for O day now!

@Juno231 I’m suffering from boring flat chart again! The little peak two days ago was after a night of drinking 😂 I’m only CD8 but still you think my heart would move a bit!

@Moominmiss sometimes it can move around a bit but is strange that it seems to be coinciding an odd OPK cycle too. Hopefully the upwards trend has continued on for you today?

@Fran2020 hope all goes well for your ultrasound! I started my sticks yesterday but they have already shown high fertility this morning which feels a bit early.. had this last month that the next day was peak and then it wouldn’t test any more after that and it was deffo wrong because my bloods were fine. Did the GP send you for ultrasound after your OH SA came back? I don’t know whether to wait for OH tests to be done before calling again?

Juno231 · 25/08/2020 07:29

@ls2020 ultrasound needs a referral to the hospital which can take a while to get an appointment for so really your GP should have actioned that on day one! My referral was sent off after my very first call with the GP in early July for reference.

@Fran2020 I've got my ultrasound today as well! 1220 though - not looking forward to it 😅. Never had a transvaginal one before and I'm annoyed my foof is dishevelled as I'm preparing her for a wax next week! I know it doesn't matter but it's adding stress to it lol

OP posts:
Moominmiss · 25/08/2020 08:55

@mumof23188, hey! Nope, nothing on an opk yet!! It’s literally like looking for a squinter of a bfp, there’s a second line but it’s so barely there it’s weird. I’ve never had this before, in my whole 11 months ttc.
Yeah that’s what I’d do I think, wait until I’ve had scans and test results confirm everything is ok, and then tell them. It’d be worth the wait I think.
Ahh I’m so sorry, it’s really a horrible thing to have happened. I remember having that same feeling, seeing my positives and just throwing them away, it felt so unfair. You’re meant to have increased fertility after any loss so 🤞🏻 It’s true for you!

@LS2020 well my hr yesterday changed itself to 64 so only up by 1 bpm and is still sitting at that so far today so no big climb. I’m just at a loss. I’ve no idea what’s going on. I’ve not done anything different this cycle, there’s no added stress etc, I just have no clue what’s happening. I mean I know I could just be ovulating late this month and I’ll get my peak at some point, but to barely have a hint of a second line is weird for me.
If my body decides just to not bother ovulating this month, what happens? Will I still get af when I’d usually expect it? Will I get af at all or could it just roll into next cycle? Ovulate next time and carry on?
I literally hate not knowing what’s going on in my own body!

Fran2020 · 25/08/2020 09:22

@LS2020 Thank you! Hmmm that's strange, when do you usually start to get high readings? I can't remember exactly, we discussed it all before but I think it ended up being after my partners SA when I went in for swabs and then she properly referred me for the ultrasound. It's worth speaking to your doctor about it sooner rather than later I think. 😊

@Juno231 Oooh good luck for your ultrasound! 🤞🏼 I'm not looking forward to it either!! Drinking loads of water then it being internal.... 😩 But I guess it's another step closer to our babies x

Juno231 · 25/08/2020 09:47

@Fran2020 I haven't been told anything about drinking water! Am I meant to? Good luck for yours too, I'm excited to hear the results of both of ours!

OP posts:
Fran2020 · 25/08/2020 10:19

@Juno231 I got told I needed to drink two pints of water an hour before my appointment and not to wee until after my scan. You might want to call to check! Thank you, me too! 🤞🏼🍀

Juno231 · 25/08/2020 14:01

@Fran2020 I got there with a full bladder just in case as I figured that would be easy to empty! Turns out it needed to be empty lol so it's funny we seem to have opposite instructions. All went super well, definitely the nicest foof appointment I've ever had. Came back completely clear, lining was good, she could see I'd ovulated from right ovary etc and no obstructions or anything.

Just need to redo my day 21 test then and see what the GP says. OH has asked twice in the last week if the next steps if for him to do an SA so I think he's mentally gearing up for it already haha.

OP posts:
Fran2020 · 25/08/2020 14:54

@Juno231 very strange it was different! But easier to empty your bladder 😂 what CD are you on? I am CD6 and the scan needed to be on CD5-9. I'm glad it went well for you and that everything was clear!😊 haha hopefully your partner can have his SA soon and you can get your bloods redone quickly!

Juno231 · 25/08/2020 16:32

@fran2020 ah I'm so confused - I'm CD16 but there didn't seem to be any problems with that. Think they were looking at completely different things?

OP posts:
Fran2020 · 25/08/2020 17:56

@Juno231 I'm not sure - maybe! I had a regular ultrasound first then had to go and have a wee before the internal scan. They said they could see one (maybe two) fibroid but it wasn't embedded in to the lining. She said my lining seemed to be thicker than expected for CD6. Then possibly could see a polyp. The scans etc will all be sent to my doctor within 7-10 days and she said to make an appointment with them. I guess the doctor will be able to analyse it more.

Juno231 · 25/08/2020 18:06

@Fran2020 well that's a lot of maybes and could bes. Frustrating! Didn't even realise a thick lining at CD6 would be of note 🤔. Definitely keep us updated on what the gp says.

OP posts:
Fran2020 · 25/08/2020 18:11

@Juno231 that's what I thought, but the impression I got from my doctors surgery was that I wouldn't be told anything at the scan. So just wait and see! Yeah she said it's typically not as thick as it would've mostly be shredded away by now. 🤔 I will keep you updated.
