Tracking your cycle and possible BFP using RHR - part 3

Hi ladies,

This is for all of us with heart rate monitors who wish to help each other analyse the RHR patterns throughout our cycles.

Early research shows there's a correlation with increasing RHR and BFPs - so let's try and spot some together!

@Juno231 I might give GP a ring in the morning then and see if I can get sorted. I’m not too worried on the ultrasound as I had one done back in January as they were checking me out for endrometrisis and if there was anything obvious, sure they would have said but doubt they’d have looked at the fertility side so keen to get that check done. Glad yours went ok, I was shocked by how deep they can go with that thing!!

@Fran2020 it is interesting they noted the lining as guess you wouldn’t expect to have one given CD6? Hope GP gets you some answers soon.
I’m all over the place with OPKS. Normal CB was fine and never had a problem with so used for a couple of months, got a smiley when you’d expect and then swapped to ICs Where I got nothing on them at all - never found a peak. So last month changed back to CB but the advanced ones that do high and peak. Tbf think I messed up the starter one as I did midday and supposed to use FMU so got nothing, high and then peak in two days. This month, nothing yesterday (first one so base) then gone straight to high today :/ not expecting to O til Sunday though.

@Moominmiss I think if you don’t ovulate you should still have a normal cycle but you should keep testing as you might just get a late short surge - fx you see something soon!

poptypingchef · 25/08/2020 20:06

Hi all

Well what a few weeks I’ve had, this cycle has been so different in terms of RHR. Normally I start around 53 rising to 61 but this month I stayed high only going as low as 58 and then rising up to 62 - I’m 2 DPO.

Weird huh??!!

@Juno231 was this the dye scan you went for? I’m due to get this next month and I’m really petrified 😞 I’m not normally a wimp but gynaecology appointments get me.

The positive thing is they have put me on the IVF list - I may not actually get to do it due to my age but there is still hope.

@LS2020 yeah exactly, it's strange. Really hoping my GP can help me with it all.
Hmm that sounds really confusing with your opks! I hope it all works out soon. 😊

LS2020 · 26/08/2020 07:01

@Fran2020 I’m sure they will or a fertility doctor if they refer you ☺️
Well good news is I’ve still just got a high reading again today so hopefully means it’s more accurate this month though bet this means I don’t even up with a peak now 😂

Juno231 · 26/08/2020 09:28

@poptypingchef no mine was just an ultrasound, not the hycosy. I feel like my foof has had plenty of attention by medical professionals in the past so it's not as bad as it might feel for others. I think it might help you to read something that tells you exactly what to expect? Oh and a tip is to take 2 paracetamols 30-60 min before your appointment!

OP posts:
poptypingchef · 26/08/2020 10:38

Thanks @Juno231 Yeah I’ve looked into it 😞. I don’t know what it is but I’d rather have bloods taken all day than any downstairs procedures.

We had such a positive month last month in this group so fingers crossed we can see more double lines

mumof23188 · 27/08/2020 09:26

Hello lovelies. Hope you are all ok!

@Fran2020 ah glad you had your ultrasound done. Sounds as if you’ve got a few things going on, hopefully the doctors will give you some info. Not sure if anything would affect TTC? Strange about the lining!

@Juno231 glad your scan went well too ☺️ How many Dpo are you now?

@Moominmiss any luck with ovulation yet? I hope so!

@LS2020 hope you are doing ok? Must be ovulation soon for you?

CD8 for me today! Not much going on. Had some EWCM yesterday so I’ve started testing with OPKs. HR is sitting at 63bpm, hasn’t gone down to its usual 60!

Juno231 · 27/08/2020 09:37

@poptypingchef ha speaking of which I just got a pap smear letter through the post so seems like they just can't get enough of seeing my foof! I think this will be my 6th smear already...

@mumof23188 4DPO here so patiently waiting for my second week of TWW to see if my RHR does anything! Now it's firmly in the middle of my normal range at a second day of 66. Can't believe you're CD8 already - how long are your cycles normally?

OP posts:
mumof23188 · 27/08/2020 09:42

@Juno231 hopefully it will give you some clues! Is it usually lower at this point in TWW? I can’t believe it either, this week has flown by. Usually around 28/30 days.

Juno231 · 27/08/2020 09:55

@mumof23188 ah so you must be gearing up for FW? Are you using OPKs at all? I think 66 is fairly normal at this point for me, with it slowly rising as TWW progresses. Tends to peak around 72 and drop again for AF :(

OP posts:
poptypingchef · 27/08/2020 10:10

@Juno231 6 this year? I’m also 4DPO - turn to keep busy during the TWW so it doesn’t drag!

Juno231 · 27/08/2020 10:15

@poptypingchef haha no not this year, 6th pap smear overall. Had forgotten we were cycle buddies this time! Here's to a zen TWW for us! Are you planning on testing at all or waiting until AF is late?

OP posts:
Moominmiss · 27/08/2020 11:27

@mumof23188 nope, nothing on an opk yet. But my hr that had been sitting at 63/64 for like a week went up to 66 yesterday and then 68 today so don’t know if that means ovulation might be coming up (although opk’s are literally blank, no hint of a line or anything so?) or I still don’t know if I somehow missed it. I just don’t feel like I do post ovulation though so pretty sure it’s not happened yet. I’ve never noticed a rise in hr before ovulation in past cycles though so maybe this is just going to be a weird one where I just don’t ovulate 🤷🏼‍♀️

Cd8 for you already! I’m glad it’s going fast. Will be keeping my fingers crossed for you! Xx

poptypingchef · 28/08/2020 01:07

@Juno231 I’m normally very restrained and wait until AF is due which normally results in an answer in itself. My RHR are already weird this month so we’ll see. I switched the type of vitamin D I am taking so I wonder if that has had an impact

LS2020 · 28/08/2020 06:56

@mumof23188 yes I’m on CD11, app says I’m due to O on Sunday and had 3 high fertilities on OPK so hoping it’s peak tomorrow 🤞🏻

Had the flattest RHR since AF began (got a small increase on Sat night as that was family party I was drinking at) but apart from that been 52 for ages, thought something wrong with me but it’s started to rise now so hopefully this is O showing for me ☺️

Moominmiss · 28/08/2020 08:34

Hey, does anyone want to hazard a guess at what’s going on with me?

I say guess because that’s all it can be, I have no info to go on other than the date marked was cd1, I’m currently cd19 and haven’t seen a positive opk yet (although admittedly most days I’ve only tested once a day) so may have missed it (although I don’t feel sore boobs or anything like post ovulation so personally I don’t think I’ve ovulated yet.

Previous cycles my hr has been around 67 at the time of a positive opk and ovulation day.

I’ve now given up testing this cycle. So will just keep dtd until af shows.

mumof23188 · 28/08/2020 11:48

@Juno231 yes almost fertile week! Yes started on the OPK’s so hopefully will catch the surge. I’m dreading the TWW this time! Ahh hopefully it gets higher than 72 this time 🤞 do you usually get pms symptoms in TWW?

@LS2020 wow that is super flat! Brilliant it’s started rising. Good luck for this cycle lovely 🤞

@Moominmiss thank you so much ☺️, that’s so kind. Wow look at that rise!! I’m going to guess that you’ve ovulated and missed it. That rise is to high for it not to of happened! Fingers crossed for you but that chart is looking good!

mrswilso · 28/08/2020 12:06

@Moominmiss don't give up! I think you're on the verge of ovulating! I was CD19 for my peak last month too 💕

HansBanans · 28/08/2020 23:14

Hi everyone, it's cat/bat chart woman 😂 hope you are all doing ok! I'm on CD16 of an I-don't-know-now-many-days cycle. After an early miscarriage in January my cycles have ranged from 33-47 days. I've attached my cycle and marked CD1. I had a small amount on EWCM the other night but I'm not sure that this was OV as it seems a bit early? Thinking that my RHR seems a bit higher than normal, I've marked CD16 on last month's chart too. Does anyone think I maybe OV'd earlier than normal this month?

LS2020 · 29/08/2020 06:48

@mumof23188 thanks, risen again and finally got a positive OPK this morning!

@Moominmiss that’s what mine usually looks like after ovulation and I would ovulate on one on of the 64 RHR days so think you probably have given that rise!

@HansBanans it kinda looks like you O’d on cd12 if you’re someone who gets a dip for it but that’s v early for someone on even a 33 day cycle. When did you O last cycle? You might be someone who drops and then would think be where you’re about 65 on the first graph and in that case you probs have a few more days til you O this cycle and would make a bit more sense

HansBanans · 29/08/2020 08:15

@LS2020 ah ok, thank you! I think I maybe O'd about CD28 last month, my cycle was 43 days. My BBT was 36.75 this morning which is higher than normal for me right now but I haven't been tracking that this month so I'm not going to rely on it for confirmation. I'll keep an eye out and see how things progress over the next few days. Yay for your positive OPK!

Juno231 · 29/08/2020 20:55

@HansBanans that's def a post O temp! CD12 isn't unusual for me - might just mean you have more of a 26 day cycle this time? Was your EWCM after cd12 though?

@mumof23188 I dont have any proper pms symptoms normally (other than acne maybe?), just random symptoms that get my hopes up each time! Eg today I'm 6DPO and I've got a pinching feeling on the right side of my crotch 🤪

Check out my RHR btw, it's weirdly low?! 6DPO and pretty much the lowest it's been all cycle.

@Juno231 ooh ok thank you! I'll need to wait and see what happens. The ewcm was on cd14 and I'm cd17 today

Juno231 · 29/08/2020 21:23

@HansBanans hm so if you had EWCM at cd14 and a high temp today at CD17, I'd guess you ovulated in between the two dates. Just because ewcm after ovulation isn't standard, more of an exception. Perhaps it was at the top of the latest peak, eg CD15?

ambs1994 · 29/08/2020 21:25

Hey everyone.. so turns out I definitely had AF last week after what looked like a positive test on a blue dye.
I visited the drs the other day for a different reason but thought I'd mention having positive tests this month and last cycle and also one in January. His first answer was miscarriage then after reading my notes, he told me when I had bloods done in Jan, I was definitely not pregnant as there was no hcg in my system whatsoever. So hes asked me to track the next 2 to 3 cycles and then go back to investigate as I may be one of those few people who produce false positive tests and then have their period like normal.
I'm on cycle day 11 now so gearing up for the fertile week to begin however my other half has now started to work away so I doubt much will be happening at the moment anyway
