Who knew it would all be so hard! Might actually get some sleep tonight now. Hope all goes well with you tomorrow :)

Tofu35 · 03/02/2021 13:54

Good luck @Daffodil21, and hope you can put your feet up now @cew19 Flowers

haah · 03/02/2021 14:02

Hi everyone! This is my first post on a TTC forum & would love your advice! I have taken a Pregnancy test this morning (Not the first wee of the day!) and initially couldn't see a second line - I only waited a couple of minutes! (it is a clear blue early detection test). I have left the test for an hour and there is now a faint blue second line - is this an evaporation line? google tells me evaporation lines are usually colourless?? would appreciate any advice!

Daffodil21 · 03/02/2021 14:10

Thanks @Tofu35 and @CEW19

@haah if it's been over the time period the test says, then unfortunately I don't think you can trust the second line. An evaporation line is usually colourless, but an hour after the test was taken would make it invalid. You could take another later today after a 4 hour hold, I had an early result on those tests after a 4 hour hold rather than a full night. Good luck!

thank you! I just really regret not waiting the full 10 minutes before throwing the test in bin! will try again later on today. I am 12DPO so Im hoping I tested too early and there is still possible hope of a BFP!!

Poppyismyfavourite · 03/02/2021 23:13

@Daffodil21 When's your next scan? How are you holding up?

@Bramleyapples13 I was wondering how you were doing! Have you had a chat about marriage?

I'm 38 weeks tomorrow, got a midwife appt in the morning. Pretty uncomfortable now tbh but have just started mat leave which is great!

Daffodil21 · 04/02/2021 08:41

@Poppyismyfavourite it's at 10:50 today. Absolutely dreading it.
38 weeks???? I cannot believe that!! So exciting for you!!!! What's your due date, if you don't mind sharing?

Poppyismyfavourite · 04/02/2021 10:14

Ooh good luck, I'll have my fingers crossed for you!
it's the 18th, 2 weeks today!

Daffodil21 · 04/02/2021 11:57

Happy to report all is ok! Measuring slightly ahead at 13 weeks (we were expecting 12+4)

CEW19 · 04/02/2021 13:42

Amazing @daffodil21! Hopefully now you'll be able to relax and enjoy the rest of your pregnancy :)

Poppyismyfavourite · 05/02/2021 16:22

Great news @Daffodil21!! So happy for you😊

I had less good news, seems naughty baby is breech, had them attempt an ecv but no luck, hopefully have another one next week but otherwise it's a c section 😬

Bramleyapples13 · 06/02/2021 17:10

@Daffodil21 and @CEW19 fantastic to see everything is going well! I really need to keep up with stuff on here a bit more. I feel well behind with everyone's news! @CEW19 am I being an idiot by thinking that they thought you could have an ectopic and viable pregnancy at the same time? How is that even possible?! Does that mean you're further on than you thought @Daffodil21?

@Poppyismyfavourite we have had a chat. He was always going to propose but thought I wasn't too bothered about it being after we tried for a baby. So we'll just do it the other way round and see how things go.

But I still want to stay part of the thread!

CEW19 · 06/02/2021 20:48

@Bramleyapples13 it’s called a heterotopic apparently. I guess when two eggs are released and fertilised at the same time? Relieved it wasn’t and back to counting down the weeks haha. Told my parents and my mum is desperate for us to tell the rest of the fam. My gran lives with them and she’s really struggling with keeping a secret 😂

Tofu35 · 06/02/2021 23:07

Love seeing everyone's news, I hope this cheeky baby turns around @Poppyismyfavourite!
@bramleyapples13 this might be the first engagement on the thread 😍
@daffodil21 love hearing you're doing well!

Poppyismyfavourite · 07/02/2021 04:53

Wow @CEW19 I didn't know that was possible either... Bodies are weird!

@Bramleyapples13 glad to hear that, hope it all goes well!

@Tofu35 thanks, I bloody hope so too... I'm on maternity leave now and turning this baby has suddenly turned into my no. 1 focus! Had a bit of a melt down yesterday and ugly cried about it all over my poor husband.

Daffodil21 · 07/02/2021 11:26

@Bramleyapples13 I think it just means I implanted earlier, which I already suspected anyway as I had spotting from 5/6DPO. It's been measuring slightly ahead at all the scans, but I hadn't bothered changing my dates on apps and things but I have now we've had the dating scan and they've given us an EDD.

@CEW19 I bet your mum is thrilled!

@Poppyismyfavourite oh noo sorry to hear your baby is breech (I don't really know much about that tbh 🙈) nothing wrong with ugly crying - you must be getting nervous now! But you'll soon be meeting your little girl!!!!

OP posts:
CEW19 · 07/02/2021 15:37

@Daffodil21 This will be grandchild #6 for them, but yes they’re over the moon. Turns out she’d already made a start on a baby blanket in the hope we’d be starting a family soon 🙄 Glad we hadn’t mentioned we’d started trying otherwise it would’ve been an even more stressful 14 months with them putting the pressure on.

How’s everyone’s weekends going? Yet another week of lockdown done

Poppyismyfavourite · 13/02/2021 22:13

Well I had a second ECV on weds and no luck, so I'm now booked in for a c section this wednesday! Bit bummed as I really wanted a water birth but I'm ok with it really - obviously getting baby here safely is the important thing! And it's nice to know there's a definite date - I was also a breech baby born by c section at 2 weeks overdue!
Only 4 more sleeps lol! Trying to finish my to do list... spent this afternoon painting the radiators... that's what everyone does at 39 weeks pregnant right?

JTB123 · 13/02/2021 23:10

@Poppyismyfavourite aargh good luck 😍 I'm 33 weeks tomorrow and it's scary how close it's getting!

Daffodil21 · 14/02/2021 11:56

So so glad to see such positive news come from this thread 💕 sorry you're having such a tricky time though @Poppyismyfavourite - not long to go!!!!!

@JTB123 hoping all goes well for you too!

@CEW19 aww that's so sweet but definitely good for you not to have known that when you were TTC! My mum bought a girl's cardigan years ago - it was either just before we started TTC or when it was very early. They can't help themselves can they?! I suppose they're just excited but it's frustrating when things take longer than you think (or in my case take longer and then fail 🙈). It became a common conversation of 'I've got some news, but don't get your knitting needles out yet' I'm surprised she has held off so long this time, but I'm glad she has. How are you doing?

OP posts:
CEW19 · 14/02/2021 16:12

@Poppyismyfavourite how exciting! I’m sure once baby is here, you won’t even think about how it happened 😊

@Daffodil21 are you feeling a bit more relaxed now you’ve passed 12 weeks? I’m 8 weeks today and had my date through this week for my scan, 21 March. I’ll be 12+5 by then and I’m just counting the hours. Feeling so anxious at the minute. My symptoms just come and go constantly, so won’t be able to relax until after the 21 March, unless I cave and get an early scan before then!

Happy V Day all ❤️

Daffodil21 · 14/02/2021 17:02

@CEW19 no, not at all tbh.

OP posts:
Daffodil21 · 14/02/2021 17:04

Oops pressed post too soon!!

@CEW19 no not at all tbh. I've been peeing less at night, and have sometimes gone 4 hours without needing to get up (it's been every 2 hours since before my bfp) so I'm pretty concerned that something is wrong. I've got a private scan on Friday so just trying to make it until then and see what the situation is.

If you're feeling really anxious there's nothing wrong with getting a private scan before your dating scan. I'd had 4 scans before my dating scan 🙈 and I'm glad I did. It's torture waiting until this Friday but I'm going to try and hold out

OP posts:
CEW19 · 15/02/2021 14:02

@daffodil21 I might actually, just as reassurance. My symptoms tend to come and go quite a bit. Felt fine last week really and nausea had gone, but today it's come right on back. No throwing up, just waves of retching which is vile. My DH is away all of this week so might try and get one booked for next week. Two friends of mine had MMC's last year, and now I have this irrational fear that there won't be a heartbeat at my 12-week.

Try and be kind to yourself this week. Easier said than done, but a bit of self-care can go a long way sometimes.

Daffodil21 · 15/02/2021 14:34

@CEW19 only got up twice to pee last night, and the second time wasn't until my husband's alarm went off at 6:45. I'm not sure I would have woken to go until my alarm went off otherwise. Anxiety is absolutely through the roof today, probably the worst it's been so I'm bringing Friday's scan forward to this evening. Yeah, I'm super worried about a MMC too, even though I'm in the second trimester now, it can still happen. None of my losses were MMC, but that's not to say it won't happen.

Sorry to hear you're feeling so rough, that sounds awful! Especially while your DH is away
